The effect of tool edge roundness attracts growing attention from the international machining research community due to ever accelerating applications of precision, super-precision, micro-, and nano-machining technologies in a wide variety of modern industries. A new slip-line model for machining with a rounded-edge tool and its associated hodograph are proposed in this paper. The model consists of 27 slip-line sub-regions, each sub-region having its own physical meaning. It is demonstrated that the model simultaneously takes into account nine effects, such as the shear-zone effect and the size effect, which commonly occur in machining. Eight groups of machining parameters, such as the ploughing (parasitic or non-cutting) force and the chip up-curl radius, can be simultaneously predicted from the model. Furthermore, the model incorporates eight slip-line models previously developed for machining during the last six decades as special cases. An additional special case that involves a parallel-sided shear zone can also be derived from the new model. A mathematical formulation of the model is established based on Dewhurst and Collins's (1973) matrix technique for numerically solving slip-line problems. A purely analytical equation is proposed to predict the thickness of the primary shear zone. This equation is also employed to predict the shear strain-rate in the primary shear zone.  相似文献

In this paper, the slip-line field theory of plane plastic strain dealing with Mohr’s criterion expressed by quadratic limiting curves is preliminarily established. It takes the classical slip-line field theory as its special case, and it can be applied to the analysis of plane-strain problems in metal processing, rock and soil mechanics and tectonomechanics. As preliminary application, the slip-line field and limiting loads of flat punch indenting problem are determined by numerical solution, and the slip-line field of bedded medium gravity-sliding problem is determined and discussed.  相似文献

A rigid-triangle velocity field for combined backward-forward extrusion based on the experiments and the slip-line field is proposed in this paper. The flow separation point in the rigid-triangle velocity field is defined in accordance with the slip-line theory. A formula of minimum upper bound solution for the punch pressure of the combined extrusion is derived. The values from this formula are compared with those from the slip-line solution and with experimental results. The formula of upper bound solution can be used in practice.  相似文献

Slip-line fields in plastic deformations have been theoretically obtained for contact deformations between rigid and idealized-rigid perfectly plastic media under idealized contact conditions. In these analyses, simple assumptions such as idealized perfect lubrication, Coulomb friction or uniform contact pressure have been made However, the deformation and stress states near the contact surface are seriously affected by the mechanical properties of the contact media used and the lubricant or the contact pressure on the contact surface Hence the theoretical slip-line fields are fairly different from the fields obtained from actual experiments The actual slip-line fields are easily constructed, however, by using the isoclinic- fringe pattern obtained from photoviscoplastic model tests using polymers.  相似文献

基于双重Fourier变换技术,成功求解了直角坐标系下,横观各向同性弹性饱和多孔介质的三维Biot动力方程,得到了以固体骨架位移分量和孔隙流体压力为基本未知量的积分形式一般解.进而,用一般解给出了饱和介质的总应力分量表达式。在此基础上,研究了在任意分布的表面竖向和水平谐振力作用下,横观各向同性饱和半空间体的动力响应问题。数值结果表明,采用各向同性饱和介质的动力学模型,不能准确描述具有明显各向异性特性的饱和土地基的动力性能。  相似文献

从横观各向同性压电介质空间轴对称问题的基本方程出发,建立了压电介质空间轴对称问题的状态变量方程,对状态变量方程进行Hankel变换,得到以状态变量表示的单层压电介质在Hankel变换空间中的解,讨论了3种不同特征根的情况,利用提出的解得到了半无限压电体在垂直集中载荷和点电荷作出下的Boussinesq解。利用传递矩阵方法导出了多层压电介质空间轴对称问题解一般解析式。  相似文献

This paper presents a unified theory for both cylindrical and spherical cavity expansion problems in cohesive-frictional micromorphic media. A phenomenological strain-gradient plasticity model in conjunction with a generalized Mohr–Coulomb criterion is employed to characterize the elasto-plastic behavior of the material. To solve the resultant two-point boundary-value problem (BVP) of fourth-order homogeneous ordinary differential equation (ODE) for the governing equations which is not well-conditioned in certain cases, several numerical methods are developed and are compared in terms of robustness, efficiency and accuracy. Using one of the finite difference methods that shows overall better performance, both cylindrical and spherical cavity expansion problems in micromorphic media are solved. The influences of microstructural properties on the expansion response are clearly demonstrated. Size effect during the cavity expansion is captured. The proposed theory is also applied to a revisit of the classic problem of stress concentration around a cavity in a micromorphic medium subjected to isotropic tension at infinity, for which some conclusions made in early studies are revised. The proposed theory can be useful for the interpretation of indentation tests at small scales.  相似文献

A general Love solution for the inhomogeneous transversely isotropic theory of elasticity with the elastic constants dependent on the coordinate z is proposed. This result may be considered as a generalization of the Love solutions we recently derived for the inhomogeneous isotropic theory of elasticity. The key steps of deriving the Love solution for the classical linear homogeneous transversely isotropic theory of elasticity are described for further use of the derivation procedure, which is then generalized to the inhomogeneous transversely isotropic case. Some particular cases of inhomogeneity traditionally used in the theory of elasticity are also examined. The significance of the derived solutions and their importance for the modeling of functionally graded materials are briefly discussed  相似文献

Photoviscoplasticity is applied to the drawing with back tension through rollers and wedge-shaped dies in model tests of plane-strain state. The effects of the back tension on the slip-line fields and on the principal-stress trajectories for the strips are discussed in the light of experimental results obtained from the model tests. Actual strips are considered as viscoelastoplastic media in the actual drawing processes. The model specimens used are softened celluloid as the viscoelastoplastic medium for the strip and Araldite as the glassy elastic medium for the dies. At a suitable experimental temperature, the viscoelastoplastic strip is drawn viscoplastically through the gap between the dies mentioned above. The slip-line fields, the principal-stress trajectories in the strip and the normal pressure on the contact surface are greatly influenced by the effect of the back tension.  相似文献

It is demonstrated how a micromorphic plasticity theory may be formulated on the basis of multiplicative decompositions of the macro- and microdeformation gradient tensor, respectively. The theory exhibits non-linear isotropic and non-linear kinematic hardening. The yield function is expressed in terms of Mandel stress and double stress tensors, appropriately defined for micromorphic continua. Flow rules are derived from the postulate of Il’iushin and represent generalized normality conditions. Evolution equations for isotropic and kinematic hardening are introduced as sufficient conditions for the validity of the second law of thermodynamics in every admissible process. Finally, it is sketched how isotropic damage effects may be incorporated in the theory. This is done for the concept of effective stress combined with the hypothesis of strain equivalence.  相似文献

Determination of Permeability Distributions Using NMR Velocity Imaging   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This study develops a methodology for determining the absolute permeability distribution in a porous media sample using velocity data obtained from NMR imaging experiments. An objective function describing the discrepancy between observed and simulated data is reduced by iteratively updating the permeability. This parameter estimation scheme is based on an iterative method which uses optimal control theory to refine the estimates. Although this theory is developed for both isotropic and anisotropic porous media, the permeability reconstructions examined in this paper are restricted to the isotropic case. Synthetic data are used to investigate the impact of varying the noise in the experimental data, the degree of parameterization, the relative weighting of the regularization term in the objective function, and the amount and type of data required to obtain a satisfactory permeability reconstruction. These synthetic data are extracted from the solution of numerical experiments that have utilized an assumed permeability distribution. The methodology is also applied to data gathered in laboratory experiments for water flow in a sandstone sample.  相似文献

According to generalized characteristic theory, a characteristic analysis for stress wave propagation in transversely isotropic fluid-saturated porous media was performed. The characteristic differential equations and compatibility relations along bicharacteristics were deduced and the analytical expressions for wave surfaces were obtained. The characteristic and shapes of the velocity surfaces and wave surfaces in the transversely isotropic fluid-saturated porous media were discussed in detail. The results also show that the characteristic equations for stress waves in pure solids are particular cases of the characteristic equations for fluid-saturated porous media.  相似文献

连续介质力学中,各向同性材料的力学理论已基本成熟,即,对任何一个各向同性材料的力学问题,人们几乎总能从现有理论中找到有效解决方案,但对各向异性材料暨复合材料而言,只有线弹性理论才基本成熟,复合材料的塑性变形、破坏和强度等问题,都还缺少成熟分析方法。根本原因是,现有理论只能得到纤维和基体中的均值应力,复合材料的塑性、破坏和强度分析,都必须基于基体的真实应力。本文对作者创建和发展的基体真实应力理论进行了综述介绍,并简要指出了真实应力理论在复合材料破坏和强度分析中所起的作用。  相似文献

川藏公路由于地质环境复杂、建设标准低、后遗病害多,抗灾能力差,泥石流、滑坡、山崩、雪害、水毁等自然灾害频繁发生,公路阻车断道严重。国家投入巨资进行整治改建,并取得了明显的效果,但由于自然环境特殊、影响因素复杂,许多特大型、大型工程地质病害问题还没有可行、可靠的解决方案。本文通过分析川藏公路沿线的地质环境和灾害特点,总结历年整治改建和经验的教训,提出川藏公路建设的途径、可能达到的目标和应采用的原则。  相似文献

Herein a plane, steady-state fluid flow solution for fractured porous media is first presented. The solution is based on the theory of complex potentials, the theory of Cauchy integrals, and of singular integral equations. Subsequently, a numerical method is illustrated that may be used for the accurate estimation of the pore pressure and pore pressure gradient fields due to specified hydraulic pressure or pore pressure gradient acting on the lips of one or multiple non-intersecting curvilinear cracks in a homogeneous and isotropic porous medium. It is shown that the numerical integration algorithm of the singular integral equations is fast and converges rapidly. After the successful validation of the numerical scheme several cases of multiple curvilinear cracks are illustrated.  相似文献

This paper presents a three-dimensional elasticity solution for a simply supported, transversely isotropic functionally graded plate subjected to transverse loading, with Young’s moduli and the shear modulus varying exponentially through the thickness and Poisson’s ratios being constant. The approach makes use of the recently developed displacement functions for inhomogeneous transversely isotropic media. Dependence of stress and displacement fields in the plate on the inhomogeneity ratio, geometry and degree of anisotropy is examined and discussed. The developed three-dimensional solution for transversely isotropic functionally graded plate is validated through comparison with the available three-dimensional solutions for isotropic functionally graded plates, as well as the classical and higher-order plate theories.  相似文献
