An all solid state potentiometric sensor using anthracene thiourea derivative as ionophore was developed. It exhibited a near‐Nernstian slope of 30.8±1.0 mV/decade of activity for HPO42? ions in the concentration range of 1.0×10?7–1.0×10?3 M at pH 7.4. It displayed excellent selectivity for monohydrogen phosphate over other anions and the selectivity sequence was determined as HPO42?>SO42?>Cl?>NO3?>OAc?>I?>ClO4?. The developed sensor was evaluated for the analysis of monohydrogen phosphate ions in a standard reference material (SRM 1548) as well as in the potentiometric titration of phosphate ions with a barium chloride solution.  相似文献

A novel potentiometric zirconium - PVC matrix membrane sensor incorporating bis(diphenylphosphino) ferrocene as an electroactive material and tris(2-ethylhexyl)phosphate as solvent mediator is described. In mixed acetate buffer solution of pH 4.8, the sensor displays a rapid and linear response for zirconium ion over the concentration range 1.0 × 10−1 to 1.0 × 10−7 mol L−1 with a good slope of 59.7 ± 0.3 mV per decade and detection limit 1.8 × 10−8 mol L−1. The best performance was obtained with membrane composition 33% PVC, 65% TEHP, 1% NaTPB and 1% ionophore. The proposed electrode revealed excellent selectivity for zirconium ion over a wide variety of alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions and could be used in a pH range of 4.15-7.8. The electrode was applied for at least 1 month without any considerable divergence in the potential responses. The practical utility of the electrode has been demonstrated by its use as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of zirconium ions with sodium fluoride and in determination of zirconium ion in some alloy, tape and waste water samples.  相似文献

Ion-selective membrane electrodes doped with the urea- or thiourea-functionalised calix[4]arenes, 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,27-bis[[4-N′-(phenylureido)butyl]oxy]-26,28-dipropoxy calix[4]arene (I) and 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,27-bis[[4-(N′-phenylthioureido)-butyl]oxy]-26,28-dipropoxy calix[4]arene (II), were evaluated for anion sensing. Potentiometric results show that these calixarene ionophore-based membrane electrodes exhibit a good sensitivity to aqueous solutions of the monohydrogen orthophosphate species HPO42− in the concentration range 5.0 × 10−5 to 1.0 × 10−1 M, with near-Nernstian response slopes of −33.0 and −28.0 mV dec−1 for ionophores I and II, respectively. Selectivity coefficient values for monohydrogen orthophosphate over a range of common anions were determined by the fixed interference and matched potential methods and indicated that these membrane electrodes exhibit a good selectivity for HPO42− with respect to the other anions, including sulfate and nitrate.  相似文献

The construction and performance characteristics of different phosphate ion-selective electrodes are described. Three types of electrodes are demonstrated, namely screen-printed, carbon paste and the conventional PVC membrane electrodes. The cited electrodes are based on bisthiourea ionophores and show a considerable selectivity towards hydrogenphosphate with Nernstian slopes depending on the type of the electrode and the ionophore used. Matrix compositions of each electrode are optimised on the basis of effects of type and concentration of the ionophore as well as influence of the selected plasticizers. The screen-printed electrodes work satisfactorily in the concentration range 10−5 to 10−2 mol L−1 with anionic Nernstian compliance (32.8 mV/decade activity) and detection limit 4.0 × 10−6 mol L−1. The screen-printed electrodes show fast response time of about 2.2 s and exhibit adequate shelf-life (4 months). The fabricated electrodes can be also successfully used in the potentiometric titration of HPO42− with Ba2+.  相似文献

A new PVC membrane strontium ion-selective electrode has been constructed using 6-(4-nitrophenyl)-2-phenyl-4,4-dipropyl-3,5-diaza-bicyclo[3,1,0] hex-2-ene (NPDBH) as a neutral ionophore. The electrode was prepared with 7% NPDBH (as ionophore), 57% acetophenone (as plasticizer), 30% PVC and 6% oleic acid (as lipophilic additive). The electrode responds to Sr2+ ion with a sensitivity of 28.2 ± 0.5 mV/decade over the range 1.0 × 10−6-1.0 × 10−1 mol L−1 and in a pH range of 3.0-10.0. The limit of detection was 2.4 × 10−7 mol L−1. It has a response time of <20 s and can be used for at least three months without any divergence in potentials. The proposed electrode shows good discrimination of Sr2+ ion from several cations. The effect of organic solvents on electrode response was examined. The results show that this electrode can be used in ethanol media up to 15% (v/v) concentration without interference. The isothermal temperature coefficient of this electrode amounted to 0.00019 V/°C. The electrode was found to work well under laboratory conditions. It was successfully applied to the determination of strontium ions in human urine and bone digests.  相似文献

Beryllium(II) selective electrodes have been fabricated based on poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) matrix membranes containing newly synthesized neutral carrier dibenzo(perhydrotriazino)aza-14-crown-4 ethers as ionophore. Best performance was exhibited by the membrane having a composition ionophore (IIa):PVC:sodium tetraphenylborate (NaTPB):tributyl phosphate (TBP) in the ratio (w/w; mg) of 5:30:3:65. This membrane worked well over a wide concentration range 7.6 × 10−6 to 1.0 × 10−1 M of Be2+ with a Nernstian slope of 30.7 mV per decade of beryllium activity. The response time of the sensor is 15 s and the membrane can be used over a period of 4 months with good reproducibility. The proposed electrode works well in a wide pH range 3.0–9.0. It was successfully applied to the determination of beryllium in a mineral sample.  相似文献

A highly selective membrane electrode based on nickel(II)-1,4,8,11,15,18,22,25-octabutoxyphthalocyanine (NOBP) is presented. The proposed electrode shows very good selectivity for thiocyanate ions over a wide variety of common inorganic and organic anions. The sensor displays a near Nernstian slope of −58.7 ± 0.6 mV per decade. The working concentration range of the electrode is 1.0 × 10−6 to −1.0 × 10−1 M with a detection limit of 5.7 × 10−7 M (33.06 ng/mL). The response time of the sensor in whole concentration ranges is very short (<10 s). The response of the sensor is independent on the pH range of 4.3-9.8. The best performance was obtained with a membrane composition of 30% PVC, 65% dibutyl phthalate, 3% NOBP and 2% hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide. It was successfully applied to direct determination of thiocyanate in biological samples, and as an indicator electrode for titration of thiocyanate ions with AgNO3 solution.  相似文献

The suitability of a xanthone derivative, 1-hydroxy-3-methyl-9H-xanthen-9-one (HMX) as a neutral ionophore for the preparation of a polyvinylchloride (PVC) membrane electrode for aluminum(III) ions was investigated. The prepared electrode exhibits a Nernstian response for Al3+ ions over a wide concentration range (1.0 × 10−6 to 1.6 × 10−1 M) with a limit of detection 6.0 × 10−7 M. It has a relatively fast response time and can be used for at least three months without any considerable divergence in potentials. The proposed membrane electrode revealed very good selectivity for Al3+ ions over a wide variety of other cations and could be used at a working pH range of 3.0-8.5. It was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of aluminum ions with EDTA and in the determination of Al3+ in different real samples.  相似文献

We have synthesized a bis(terthiophene)-appended uranyl-salophen complex, comprising N,N′-bis[4-(5,2′:5′,2″-terthiophen-3′-yl)salicylidene]-1,2-ethanediamine-uranyl complexes (TUS), and used it as a monomer for the electrochemical polymerizations (poly-TUS) on glassy carbon surfaces to prepare functionalized conducting polymer (CP) films. The poly-TUS films prepared from propylene carbonate/0.1 M tetrabutyl ammonium perchlorate (TBAP) on a glassy carbon electrode have both the functionality of ion-to-electron transducers (solid contact) and Lewis-acidic binding sites for a monohydrogen phosphate (MHP) ion-selective electrode (ISE). The CP/poly-TUS sensor showed a linear range between 1.0 × 10−1 and 1.0 × 10−4.5 M with a near-Nernstian behavior (−30.4 mV decade−1) at a pH of 8.2. The detection limit of the electrode was 10−5.0 M and the response time was improved (<10 s) compared to that of conventional ISEs (<20 s). For comparison, a conventional ISE (with an internal aqueous solution) based on a TUS monomer/o-nitrophenyl octylether (o-NPOE)/polyvinyl chloride (PVC) liquid membrane with or without tridodecylmethylammonium chloride (TDMACl) as an additive was also constructed and its performance as an MHP-ISE were studied. The superior selectivity and sensitivity of the CP/poly-TUS sensor enabled the direct measurement of MHP in a wide variety of applications.  相似文献

A new highly Tl(I)-selective PVC membrane electrode based on tetrathia macrocycle 6,7: 14,15-dibenzo-5,8,13,16-tetraoxo-1,4,9,12-tetrathiacyclohexadecane [Bz2O4(16)aneS4] (I) as membrane carrier, o-nitrophenyloctyl ether (o-NPOE) as solvent mediator and potassium tetrakis(p-chlorophenyl)borate (KTpClPB) as lipophilic additive has been developed. The best performance was given by the membrane of macrocycle (I) with composition 3:120:1.5:50 (I:o-NPOE:KTpClPB:PVC). This electrode exhibits a Nernstian response to Tl(I) ions in the concentration range 1.0 × 10−1-2.23 × 10−6 M with a slope of 58.2 mV/decade of concentration and a detection limit of 1.58 × 10−6 M. The response time of the sensor is 12 s and can be used over a period of 4 months with good reproducibility. The proposed electrode revealed good selectivity over a wide variety of other cations including alkali, alkaline earth, heavy and transition metals. The electrode works well over a pH range of 3.2-11.5 and in partially non-aqueous medium with up to 30% organic content. The sensor was also used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of Tl(I) ions with KI solution.  相似文献

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) based membranes using macrocyclic dithioxamide receptor (I) derived from isophthaloyl dichloride and dithioxamide have been prepared and explored as HPO42−-selective sensors. Effect of various plasticizers viz., bis(2-ethylhexyl) sebacate (DOS), dibutylphosphate (DBP), tri-n-butylphosphate (TBP), O-nitrophenyl octyl ether (NPOE), tris(2-ethylhexyl)phosphate (TEHP) and a cation excluder, tridodecylmethylammonium chloride (TDDMACl) was studied in detail and improved performance was observed at several instances. Optimum performance was observed with the membrane having (I)-PVC-TDDMACl-NPOE in the ratio 2:33:1.5:63.5 (w/w). The sensor works satisfactorily in the concentration range 1.7 × 10−6 to 1.0 × 10−2 M (detection limit 0.2 ppm) with Nernstian compliance (29.6 mV/decade of activity) at pH 8.0 with a fast response time of about 8 s. The potentiometric selectivity coefficient values as determined by the matched potential method (MPM) and the fixed interference method (FIM) indicate selective response for HPO42− in presence of interfering ions. The sensor exhibits adequate shelf life (∼2 months) with good reproducibility (S.D. ± 0.4 mV). The sensor was also used successfully in the potentiometric titration of HPO42− with Ba2+.  相似文献

An electrode for glucose has been prepared by using an iodide selective electrode with the glucose oxidase enzyme. The iodide selective electrode used was prepared from 10% TDMAI and PVC according our previous study. The enzyme was immobilized on the iodide electrode by holding it at pH 7 phosphate buffer for 10 min at room temperature. The H2O2 formed from the reaction of glucose was determined from the decrease of iodide concentration that was present in the reaction cell. The iodide concentration was followed from the change of potential of iodide selective electrode. The potential change was linear in the 4×10−4 to 4×10−3 M glucose concentration (75-650 mg glucose/100ml blood) range. The slope of the linear portion was about 79 mV per decade change in glucose concentration. Glucose contents of some blood samples were determined with the new electrode and consistency was obtained with a colorimetric method. The effects of pH, iodide concentration, the amount of enzyme immobilized and the operating temperature were studied. No interference of ascorbic acid, uric acid, iron(III) and Cu(II) was observed. Since the iodide electrode used was not an AgI-Ag2S electrode, there was no interference of common ions such as chloride present in biological fluids. The slope of the electrode did not change for about 65 days when used 3 times a day.  相似文献

A polyvinyl chloride (PVC) based membrane sensor for cerium ions was prepared by employing N,N′-bis[2-(salicylideneamino)ethyl]ethane-1,2-diamine as an ionophore, oleic acid (OA) as anion excluder and o-nitrophenyloctyl ether (o-NPOE) as plasticizer. The plasticized membrane sensor exhibits a Nernstian response for Ce(III) ions over a wide concentration range (1.41 × 10−7 to 1.0 × 10−2 M) with a limit of detection as low as 8.91 × 10−8 M. It has a fast response time (<10 s) and can be used for 4 months. The sensor revealed a very good selectivity with respect to common alkali, alkaline earth and heavy metal ions. The response of the proposed sensor is independent of pH between 3.0 and 8.0. It was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of fluoride, carbonate and oxalate anions and determination of cerium in simulated mixtures.  相似文献

A phosphate-selective electrode based on surfactant-modified zeolite (SMZ) particles into carbon-paste has been proposed (SMZ-CPE). The electrode was fully characterized in terms of composition, response time, ionic strength, thermal stability and usable pH range. The electrode containing 20% SMZ exhibited linear response range to phosphate species in the range of 1.58 × 10−5 to 1.00 × 10−2 M with a detection limit of 1.28 × 10−5 M and a Nernstian slope of 29.9 ± 0.9 mV per decade of phosphate concentration. The electrode response to phosphate remains constant in the pH range of 4-12 and in the presence of 1 × 10−4 to 4 × 10−3 M NaNO3. The response of the electrode reaches equilibrium within several seconds after immersing the electrode in phosphate solution. Common anions such as Cl, Br, I, NO3, SO42− and Cr2O72− have little effect on the determination of phosphate but AsO43− shows some interference. A successful application of the electrode for determination of phosphate in a fertilizer, using direct potentiometry, is presented. The electrode was also used for the potentiometric titration of phosphate. The validation of the obtained results in each case was proved by statistical methods.  相似文献

To date, poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) is the most used polymer in the design of ion selective electrode (ISE) membranes. This paper is focused on the use of sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) as an alternative material to PVC for the design of ISEs. SPEEK of the desired degree of sulfonation is synthesized from poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK). An NH4+-ISE has been chosen as a model electrode to study the efficiency of SPEEK as polymer matrix of the membrane. The material was evaluated in ionophore free ion exchanger membranes as well as in ion-selective electrodes membranes containing nonactine as ionophore. Analytical performance parameters of the prepared electrodes were evaluated. The electrodes show a slope between 50 and 60 mV dec−1 depending on both the calibration medium and the membrane composition. A linear range of response between 10−4 and 1.0 M and a lifetime of 1-2 months were obtained. The interferences of cations such us Ca2+, Na+, Li+ and K+ over the prepared ISEs are studied as well. Although the plasticizer in the SPEEK based membrane matrix is not necessary, its presence improves the sensibility. This makes SPEEK a good potential choice over alternative membrane matrices reported in the literature and a promising platform for the establishment of membrane components.  相似文献

The new ligand 7-methyl-7,13-di-octyl-1,4,10-trioxa-13-aza-7-azonia-cyclopentadecane (L1) has been designed, synthesised and used as ionophore in the development ion-selective electrodes for anionic surfactants. Different PVC-membrane anionic-surfactants-selective electrodes were prepared by using L1 as ionophore and bis(2-ethylhexyl)sebacate (BEHS), dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and nitrophenyl octyl ether (NPOE) as plasticizers. The PVC-membrane electrode containing L1 and NPOE (electrode E1) showed a Nernstian response to lauryl sulfate with a slope of −59.5 mV per decade in a range of concentrations from 1.3 × 10−6 to 6.8 × 10−3 M and a detection limit of 6.0 × 10−7 M. The electrode E1 also showed a reasonable response to other alkyl sulfates and alkylbenzene sulfonates, whereas it does not respond to carboxylates and to cationic and non-ionic surfactants. A similar electrode to E1 but additionally containing the cationic additive n-octylammonium bromide was also prepared (electrode E2) and compared with the response of E1. Selectivity coefficients for different anions with respect to lauryl sulfate were determined by means of the fixed interference method considering lauryl sulfate as the principal anion and using a concentration of 1.0 × 10−2 mol dm−3 for the corresponding interfering anion. The selectivity sequence found for the electrode E1 was: LS > SCN > ClO4 > CH3COO > I > HCO3 > Br > NO3 > NO2 > Cl > IO3 > phosphate > SO32− > C2O42− > SO42−. Electrode E1 showed remarkably better selectivity coefficients than electrode E2.  相似文献

In this work, a highly selective and sensitive monohydrogen phosphate membrane sensor based on a molybdenum bis(2-hydroxyanil) acetylacetonate complex (MAA) is reported. The sensor shows a linear dynamic range between 1.0 × 10−1 and 1.0 × 10−7 M, with a nice Nernstian behavior (−29.5 ± 0.3 mV decade−1) in pH of 8.2. The detection limit of the electrode is 6.0 × 10−8 M (∼6 ppb). The best performance was obtained with a membrane composition of 32% poly(vinyl chloride), 58% benzyl acetate, 2% hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide and 8% MAA. The sensor possesses the advantages of short response time, low detection limit and especially, very good selectivity towards a large number of organic and inorganic anions including salicylate, citrate, tartarate, acetate, oxalate, fluoride, chloride, bromide, iodide, sulfite, sulfate, nitrate, nitrite, cyanide, thiocyanate, perchlorate, metavanadate, and bicarbonate ions. The electrode can be used for at least 10 weeks without any considerable divergence in its slope and detection limit. It was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of monohydrogenphosphate ion with barium chloride. The proposed sensor was successfully applied to direct determination of monohydrogenphosphate in two fertilizer samples (NPK).  相似文献
