We study the subgroups of the full linear group GL(n, R) over a Dedekind ring R that contain the group of quasidiagonal matrices of fixed type with diagonal blocks of at least third order, each of which is generated by elementary matrices. For any such subgroup H there exists a unique D-net of ideals of R such that, where E() is the subgroup generated by all transvections of the net subgroup G(). and is the normalizer of G(). The subgroup E() is normal in. To study the factor group we introduce an intermediate subgroup F(), E() F() G(). The group is finite and is connected with permutations in the symmetric group. The factor group G()/F() is Abelian — these are the values of a certain determinant. In the calculation of F()/E() appears the SK1-functor. Results are stated without proof.Translated from Zapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov Leningradskogo Otdeleniya Matematicheskogo Instituta im. V. A. Steklova AN SSSR, Vol. 94, pp. 13–20, 1979.  相似文献

Let be a probability measure on a locally compact groupG. A real Borel functionf onG is called -harmonic if it satisfies the convolution equation *f=f. Given that isnonsingular with its translates, we show that the bounded -harmonic functions are constant on a class of groups including the almost connected [IN]-groups. If is nondegenerate and absolutely continuous, we solve the more general equation *= for positive measure on those groups which are metrizable and separable.Supported by Hong Kong RGC Earmarked Grant and CUHK Direct Grant  相似文献

Notions of -additivity are introduced for orthoalgebras and for manuals. It is shown that the logic of a -additive manual is a -additive orthoalgebra, and that, conversely, every -additive orthoalgebra arises as such a logic. Using this theorem, it is shown that a given orthoalgebra admits at most one reasonable extension of its orthogonal sum operation to countable jointly orthogonal sets. It is also shown that every orthoalgebra can be embedded in a sigma-orthoalgebra and every orthomodular poset, in a -OMP.  相似文献

Let Lf(r)={w=f(x), ¦z¦=r}, 1 < r < , be a level line of the function f(z) . Sharp upper bounds are obtained for the diameter of the curve Lf(r) in the class () for functions f(z)=z+0+1z–1+... for which there exists a domain f that complements the exterior of the unit disk and has conformal radius at the point w=0 satisfying the condition R(f,0) , 0 < < 1. The ringO of integers of a finite Abelian extension K of an algebraic number field k is studied as a module over the group ring =[G], where is the ring of integers of k and G is the Galois group of K/k. It is proved that the ring is a decomposable -module if and only if there exists in K/k an intermediate extension K/F. There are described the subgroups of the general symplectic group =GSp(2n, R) over a commutative semilocal ring R, containing the group of symplectic diagonal matrices. For each such subgroup P there is uniquely defined a symplectic D-net a such that ()pN(), where () is the net subgroup in corresponding to (cf. RZhMat, 1977, 5A288), and N() is its normalizer. The quotient group N × ()/() is calculated. There are also considered subgroups in Sp(2n, R). Analogous results for subgroups of the general linear group were obtained earlier in RZhMat, 1978, 9A237.Translated from Zapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov Leningradskogo Otdeleniya Matematicheskogo Instituta im. The paper considers control of the heat conduction process ut — u = g from the initial state u(x, 0) to the final state u(x, t1) in a fixed (finite) time t1 via the coefficient (z) in the boundary condition Bu = (u/n) + (x)u. A uniqueness theorem is proved for the problem to find the process—control pair (u, ). The control problem is posed in terms of the coefficient in a boundary condition of the form Bu = (u/n) + (t)u.Translated from Nelineinye Dinamicheskie Sistemy: Kachestvennyi Analiz i Upravlenie — Sbornik Trudov, No. 3, pp. 93–97, 1993.  相似文献

Let be the known class of functions f(z)=z+0+1z–1+..., that are meromorphic and univalent in the region U*={z ¦z¦ < 1}, and let (r) be the class of functions of for which f(U*) does not contain a singly connected domain Df, 0 Df, with conformal radius r with respect to the coordinate origin, 0 < r < 1. Sharp inequalities are obtained for certain functionals, and sharp bounds are obtained for ¦ 1 ¦ and ¦ 2 ¦ in the class (r). The proof illustrates the possibility of using results with a symmetrization character in problems on extremal partition of a Riemannian sphere to obtain sharp bounds for coefficients in the classes and (r).Translated from Zapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov Leningradskogo Otdeleniya Matematicheskogo Instituta im. A partial regularity theorem is established for a particular class of weak solutions to the systemu/t– div(K(u)u)=(u)¦¦2, div((u))=0 on a bounded domain inR N . Under our assumptions, (u) may exhibit exponential decay, and thus the system may be degenerate. Our proof is based upon a blow-up argument. This work was supported in part by NSF Grant DMS9424448.  相似文献

Summary LetG be an additively written abelian group and leth: G G be a given function. M. Hall Jr. (1952) and L. Fuchs (1958) already answered the following question. For what functionsh: G G does the functional equation(x) + (x) = h(x) (x G) have as its solution a pair of permutations and ofG? In this paper, we give explicit constructions of such a pair, in a number of cases, in particular whenh(x) x andG is finite. We further determine the finite groupsG where the latter, can be chosen to be automorphisms. In the case whereG is an infinite topological group, we study in how far and can be chosen as Borel measurable permutations, given thath: G G itself is Borel measurable.  相似文献

The specification property for solenoidal automorphisms is discussed; a solenoidal automorphism satisfies specification iff is expansive, and satisfies weak specification but not specification iff is ergodic and central spin. These are problems set up byK. Sigmund for homeomorphisms with specification. The proofs for toral case are given byD. Lind. For solenoidal case, a key ingredient in our proofs is splitting theorems on solenoidal groups with respect to described in § 2. Moreover, the following is proved: (i) If obeys specification then satisfies weak specification and is densely periodic. But the converse is not necessarily true. (ii) Every solenoidal automorphism with specification admits a Markov partition. (iii) Every ergodic solenoidal automorphism without specification does not admit Markov partitions. (iv) There exists an expansive homeomorphism with specification which has not Markov partitions.  相似文献

Let be a semilocal ring (a factor ring with respect to the Jacobson-Artin radical) for which the residue field C/m of its center C with respect to each maximal idealmC contains no fewer than seven elements. The structure of subgroups H in the full linear group GL(n, ) containing the group of diagonal matrices is considered. The main theorem: for any subgroup H there is a uniquely determined D-net of ideals such that G()HN(), whereN() is the normalizer of the D-net subgroup . A transparent classification of subgroups GL(n, ) normalizable by diagonal matrices is thus obtained. Further, the factor groupN()/G() is studied.Translated from Zapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov Leningradskogo Otdeleniya Matematicheskogo Instituta im. V. A. Summary In this note, a relationship is established between the entropy, defined by Krengel for an endomorphism of a -finite measure space, and the notion of a spreading partition. This relationship is used to answer in the quasi-finite case a question raised by Krengel concerning the entropy of the product endomorphism on the direct product of a finite and -finite measure space.  相似文献

Let > 0 be an integer. A projective -fibre space is formed by a covering of a projective geometry with -1 isomorphic geometries. The double elliptic space (Sphärischer Raum) is an example of a 2-fibre space. This note deals with projective -fibre spaces which are structured by multy valued orderfunctions (This notion was introduced by W. JUNKERS [2] for projective geometries) the range of which is a group G. If such an ordered -fibre space has the property ¦G¦=, it is called projective G-fibre space. It is proved that the desarguesian projective G-fibre spaces V are exactly those, which are induced by a vector space S over a field K (commutative or not) having a normal subgroup P K*(·) with K* P such that GK*/P and SV*/P. This theorem is a generalization of the well-known case P=K*.  相似文献
