The solvability of integral equations of the form and the behaviour of the solution x at infinity are investigated. Conditions on k and on a weight function w are obtained which ensure that the integral operator K with kernel k is bounded as an operator on Xw, where Xw denotes the weighted space of those continuous functions defined on the half-line which are O(w(s)) as We also derive conditions on w and k which imply that the spectrum and essential spectrum of K on Xw are the same as on BC[0,). In particular, the results apply when when the integral equation is of Wiener-Hopf type. In this case we show that our results are particularly sharp.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a class of integral equations in measure spaces, and the corresponding integral inequalities. Special cases are Volterra type integral equations and Gronwall type integral inequalities. We give different necessary and su.cient, and only su.cient conditions which together with the Lipschitz condition imply the existence and the uniqueness of solutions of the considered integral equations. We study the successive approximations for the considered integral equations. We derive estimates for the solutions of the studied integral equations and integral inequalities. Orthogonal Clifford analysis in flat m–dimensional Euclidean space focusses on monogenic functions, i.e. null solutions of the rotation invariant vector valued Dirac operator , where ( ) forms an orthogonal basis for the quadratic space underlying the construction of the Clifford algebra . When allowing for complex constants and taking the dimension to be even: m = 2n, the same set of generators produces the complex Clifford algebra , which we equip with a Hermitean Clifford conjugation and a Hermitean inner product. Hermitean Clifford analysis then focusses on the simultaneous null solutions of two mutually conjugate Hermitean Dirac operators, naturally arising in the present context and being invariant under the action of a realization of the unitary group U (n). In this so–called Hermitean setting Clifford–Hermite polynomials are constructed, starting from a Rodrigues formula involving both Dirac operators mentioned. Due to the specific features of the Hermitean setting, four different types of polynomials are obtained, two types of even degree and two types of odd degree. We investigate their properties: recurrence relations, structure, explicit form and orthogonality w.r.t. a deliberately chosen weight function. They also give rise to the definition of the Hermitean Clifford–Hermite functions, and may be used to develop a Hermitean continuous wavelet transform, see [4].  相似文献

A Volterra type integral equation in a Hilbert space with an additional linear operator L and a spectral parameter depending on time is considered. If the parameter does not belong to the spectrum of L unconditional solvability of the considered problem is proved. In the case where the initial value of the parameter coincides with some isolated point of the spectrum of the operator L sufficient conditions for solvability are established. The obtained results are applied to the partial integral equations associated with a contact problem of the theory of elasticity.  相似文献

In this work we use the unitary model associated to a bi-isometry, which appears for the first time in [1] and was recently rediscovered in [2], to characterize the summands in the Wold decompositions of a bi-isometry and to give new proofs of such decomposition theorems.  相似文献

A word w over a finite alphabet Σ is called k-collapsing if for each finite deterministic automaton the inequality holds provided that for some word , depending on . A word over the alphabet Σ is called k-synchronizing if it is a reset word for all synchronizing automata with k + 1 states and input alphabet Σ. The aim of this work is to give the motivations of the interest in these words and to provide an overview of some results in this area. Received: May 2007  相似文献

We show that, given a tempered distribution S whose Fourier transform is a function of polynomial growth, a point x in is outside the support of S if and only if the Fourier integral of S is summable in Bochner-Riesz means to zero uniformly on a neighbourhood of x. In this paper we prove uniqueness theorems for bounded variation (shortly: BV) solutions and continuous BV-solutions of the Hammerstein and the Volterra-Hammerstein integral equations. We investigate real-valued functions and functions with values in a Banach space. Submitted: August 16, 2001?Revised: September 13, 2002  相似文献

We give a new proof of the operator version of the Fejér-Riesz Theorem using only ideas from elementary operator theory. As an outcome, an algorithm for computing the outer polynomials that appear in the Fejér-Riesz factorization is obtained. The extremal case, where the outer factorization is also *-outer, is examined in greater detail. The connection to Aglers model theory for families of operators is considered, and a set of families lying between the numerical radius contractions and ordinary contractions is introduced. The methods are also applied to the factorization of multivariate operator-valued trigonometric polynomials, where it is shown that the factorable polynomials are dense, and in particular, strictly positive polynomials are factorable. These results are used to give results about factorization of operator valued polynomials over , in terms of rational functions with fixed denominators.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to deduce integral and discrete representations of some Hq -semiclassical forms of class one. These forms were studied by B. Bouras and F. Marcellan in [1], (Quadratic decomposition of a family of Hq-semiclassical orthogonal polynomial sequences, J. Di?erence Equ. Appl. 18 (2012), 2039–2057), but unfortunately, the above problem of representation remained opened in that work. In this paper, we find the moments investigate the of theses forms to solve this problem.  相似文献

We provide a characterization of the Clifford torus via a Ricci type condition among minimal surfaces in S4. More precisely, we prove that a compact minimal surface in S4, with induced metric ds2 and Gaussian curvature K, for which the metric is flat away from points where K = 1, is the Clifford torus, provided that m is an integer with m > 2.Received: 8 September 2004  相似文献

For a real interval I of positive length, we prove a necessary and sufficient condition which ensures that the continuous L p (0 < p ⩽ ∞) norm of a weighted polynomial, P n w n , deg P n  ⩽ n, n ⩾ 1 is in an nth root sense, controlled by its corresponding discrete H?lder norm on a very general class of discrete subsets of I. As a by product of our main result, we establish inequalities and theorems dealing with zero distribution, zero location and sup and L p infinite–finite range inequalities. This paper extends the class of integral equations whose solutions can be generated from a finite number of particular cases to include those of Sturm-Liouville type, including the case where the associated operators are not self-adjoint. An explicit expression for the resolvent operator is generated from two particular solutions, in a form amenable to the use of approximation techniques. A usable estimate of the norm of the inverse operator is obtained even in cases where approximate solutions have to be used.  相似文献

Abstract

Sibling curves were demonstrated in papers [2, 3] as a novel way to visualize the zeros of complex valued functions. In this paper, we continue the work done in those papers by focusing solely on polynomials. We proceed to prove that the number of sibling curves of a polynomial is the degree of the polynomial.  相似文献

In this paper we give a new proof of Krein's Theorem for orthogonal matrix polynomials based on a "one-step" version of the theorem. This parallels the proof given in [3] of Krein's Theorem in the scalar case.  相似文献
