If (Σ,X) is a measurable space and X a Banach space we investigate the X-inheritance of copies of ? in certain subspaces Δ(Σ,X) of bvca(Σ,X), the Banach space of all X-valued countable additive measures of bounded variation equipped with the variation norm. Among the consequences of our main theorem we get a theorem of J. Mendoza on the X-inheritance of copies of ? in the Bochner space L1(μ,X) and other of the author on the X-inheritance of copies of ? in bvca(Σ,X).  相似文献

This paper concerns the regularity of a functional differential equation in the form: , t>0, where A is the generator of an analytic semigroup on a Banach space X, and B1,B2 are α(γA)-bounded linear operator for 0<α<1. By spectral analysis, it is shown that the associated solution semigroup of this equation is eventually differentiable.  相似文献

In this paper, by using semigroup approach, we concerned with the regularity of the age-dependent population system with instantaneous time delay in the birth process. We prove that, under some additional condition, the solution semigroup of the population evolution equation is eventually differentiable, i.e., there exists t0>0 such that T(t) is differentiable for t>t0.  相似文献

In recent papers (cf. [J.L. Arregui, O. Blasco, (p,q)-Summing sequences, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 274 (2002) 812-827; J.L. Arregui, O. Blasco, (p,q)-Summing sequences of operators, Quaest. Math. 26 (2003) 441-452; S. Aywa, J.H. Fourie, On summing multipliers and applications, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 253 (2001) 166-186; J.H. Fourie, I. Röntgen, Banach space sequences and projective tensor products, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 277 (2) (2003) 629-644]) the concept of (p,q)-summing multiplier was considered in both general and special context. It has been shown that some geometric properties of Banach spaces and some classical theorems can be described using spaces of (p,q)-summing multipliers. The present paper is a continuation of this study, whereby multiplier spaces for some classical Banach spaces are considered. The scope of this research is also broadened, by studying other classes of summing multipliers. Let E(X) and F(Y) be two Banach spaces whose elements are sequences of vectors in X and Y, respectively, and which contain the spaces c00(X) and c00(Y) of all X-valued and Y-valued sequences which are eventually zero, respectively. Generally spoken, a sequence of bounded linear operators (un)⊂L(X,Y) is called a multiplier sequence from E(X) to F(Y) if the linear operator from c00(X) into c00(Y) which maps (xi)∈c00(X) onto (unxn)∈c00(Y) is bounded with respect to the norms on E(X) and F(Y), respectively. Several cases where E(X) and F(Y) are different (classical) spaces of sequences, including, for instance, the spaces Rad(X) of almost unconditionally summable sequences in X, are considered. Several examples, properties and relations among spaces of summing multipliers are discussed. Important concepts like R-bounded, semi-R-bounded and weak-R-bounded from recent papers are also considered in this context.  相似文献

We prove that if the one-point compactification of a locally compact, noncompact Hausdorff space L is the topological space called pseudoarc, then C0(L,C) is almost transitive. In this paper, the solution of the nonlinear evolution inclusion problem of the form u(t)+B(t,u(t))∋f(t) is studied. In this problem, the operators are of type (M) or type (S+), which are different from those of pseudo-monotone operators that had been studied by many authors. At the same time, we study the perturbation problem. In fact, many kinds of evolution equations can be generalized by this problem. The former results are improved and generalized by our conclusions, and we will give more applications.  相似文献

Elementary trigonometric quantities are defined in l2,p analogously to that in l2,2, the sine and cosine functions are generalized for each p>0 as functions sinp and cosp such that they satisfy the basic equation p|cosp(φ)|+p|sinp(φ)|=1. The p-generalized radius coordinate of a point ξRn is defined for each p>0 as . On combining these quantities, ln,p-spherical coordinates are defined. It is shown that these coordinates are nearly related to ln,p-simplicial coordinates. The Jacobians of these generalized coordinate transformations are derived. Applications and interpretations from analysis deal especially with the definition of a generalized surface content on ln,p-spheres which is nearly related to a modified co-area formula and an extension of Cavalieri's and Torricelli's indivisibeln method, and with differential equations. Applications from probability theory deal especially with a geometric interpretation of the uniform probability distribution on the ln,p-sphere and with the derivation of certain generalized statistical distributions.  相似文献

Let X be a Banach space and let fL(R+;X) whose Laplace transform extends analytically to some region containing iR?{0}, possibly having a pole at the origin. In this paper, we give estimates of the decay of certain slight suitable modification of f in terms of the growth of its Laplace transform along the imaginary axis. This technique is applied to obtain decay estimates of smooth orbits of bounded C0-semigroups whose infinitesimal generators have an arbitrary finite boundary spectrum. These results are close to those given recently by C.J.K. Batty and T. Duyckaerts.  相似文献

We study the smoothness property of a function f with absolutely convergent Fourier series, and give best possible sufficient conditions in terms of its Fourier coefficients to ensure that f belongs either to one of the Lipschitz classes Lip(α) and lip(α) for some 0<α?1, or to one of the Zygmund classes Λ(1) and λ(1). Our theorems generalize some of those by Boas [R.P. Boas Jr., Fourier series with positive coefficients, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 17 (1967) 463-483] and one by Németh [J. Németh, Fourier series with positive coefficients and generalized Lipschitz classes, Acta Sci. Math. (Szeged) 54 (1990) 291-304]. We also prove a localized version of a theorem by Paley [R.E.A.C. Paley, On Fourier series with positive coefficients, J. London Math. Soc. 7 (1932) 205-208] on the existence and continuity of the derivative of f.  相似文献

We study the numerical index of absolute sums of Banach spaces, giving general conditions which imply that the numerical index of the sum is less or equal than the infimum of the numerical indices of the summands and we provide some examples where the equality holds covering the already known case of c0-, ?1- and ?-sums and giving as a new result the case of E-sums where E has the RNP and n(E)=1 (in particular for finite-dimensional E with n(E)=1). We also show that the numerical index of a Banach space Z which contains a dense union of increasing one-complemented subspaces is greater or equal than the limit superior of the numerical indices of those subspaces. Using these results, we give a detailed short proof of the already known fact that, for a fixed p, the numerical indices of all infinite-dimensional Lp(μ)-spaces coincide.  相似文献

For a measurable space (Ω,A), let ?(A) be the closure of span{χA:AA} in ?(Ω). In this paper we show that a sufficient and necessary condition for a real-valued finitely additive measure μ on (Ω,A) to be countably additive is that the corresponding functional ?μ defined by (for x?(A)) is w*-sequentially continuous. With help of the Yosida-Hewitt decomposition theorem of finitely additive measures, we show consequently that every continuous functional on ?(A) can be uniquely decomposed into the ?1-sum of a w*-continuous functional, a purely w*-sequentially continuous functional and a purely (strongly) continuous functional. The subject of this paper is an analytic approximate method for stochastic functional differential equations whose coefficients are functionals, sufficiently smooth in the sense of Fréchet derivatives. The approximate equations are defined on equidistant partitions of the time interval, and their coefficients are general Taylor expansions of the coefficients of the initial equation. It will be shown that the approximate solutions converge in the Lp-norm and with probability one to the solution of the initial equation, and also that the rate of convergence increases when degrees in Taylor expansions increase, analogously to real analysis.  相似文献

By a ball-covering B of a Banach space X, we mean that B is a collection of open (or closed) balls off the origin whose union contains the unit sphere SX of X; and X is said to have the ball-covering property (BCP) provided it admits a ball-covering by countably many balls. In this note we give a natural example showing that the ball-covering property of a Banach space is not inherited by its subspaces; and we present a sharp quantitative version of the recent Fonf and Zanco renorming result saying that if the dual X of X is w separable, then for every ε>0 there exist a (1+ε)-equivalent norm on X, and an R>0 such that in this new norm SX admits a ball-covering by countably many balls of radius R. Namely, we show that R=R(ε) can be taken arbitrarily close to (1+ε)/ε, and that for X=?1[0,1] the corresponding R cannot be equal to 1/ε. This gives the sharp order of magnitude for R(ε) as ε→0.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with solutions to the Dirac equation: −iαkku+aβu+M(x)u=Ru(x,u). Here M(x) is a general potential and R(x,u) is a self-coupling which is super-quadratic in u at infinity. We use variational methods to study this problem. By virtue of some auxiliary system related to the “limit equation” of the Dirac equation, we construct linking levels of the variational functional ΦM such that the minimax value cM based on the linking structure of ΦM satisfies , where is the least energy of the “limit equation”. Thus we can show the c(C)-condition holds true for all and consequently obtain one least energy solution to the Dirac equation.  相似文献

Given a graph G, a proper labelingf of G is a one-to-one function from V(G) onto {1,2,…,|V(G)|}. For a proper labeling f of G, the profile widthwf(v) of a vertex v is the minimum value of f(v)−f(x), where x belongs to the closed neighborhood of v. The profile of a proper labelingfofG, denoted by Pf(G), is the sum of all the wf(v), where vV(G). The profile ofG is the minimum value of Pf(G), where f runs over all proper labeling of G. In this paper, we show that if the vertices of a graph G can be ordered to satisfy a special neighborhood property, then so can the graph G×Qn. This can be used to determine the profile of Qn and Km×Qn.  相似文献
