The spatial motion of two rigid bodies connected by a weightless inextensible cable in the atmosphere is considered. They are assumed to be bodies of revolution with static and dynamic symmetry. The condition of static stability of the system angular motion with respect to the direction of the incident airflow velocity vector is written out and analyzed. The influence of gyroscopic terms and damping moments on the stability condition is studied. An example of analysis of motion in the atmosphere of two connected bodies that are cones with a spherical tip is given. It is shown that the stable motion in the atmosphere can always be ensured by an appropriate matched choice of the parameters of the entire system on the basis of the obtained stability conditions. A numerical example of estimating the cable tension forces arising as the system descends on a ballistic trajectory in the atmosphere is presented.  相似文献

Lumped external damping, acting on the concentrated mass at the tip of Beck’s column, is taken into account. This additional external damping removes the prolonged inconsistency between theory and experiment for a column with a tip mass, subjected to follower force.In Sugiyama et al. [J. Aerospace Eng. 8 (1995) 9] and Wood et al. [Proc. Roy. Soc. Lond. Ser. A. 313 (1969) 239] the experimental critical loads for a beam with a tip mass agree well with theoretical values for an undamped system. On the other hand, the critical loads, calculated in Sugiyama et al. with account for the internal and distributed external damping, were 50% lower than the experimental values. Since the actual experimental system is subject to damping, the experiment and theory come into conflict. This conflict is resolved in this paper by observing that the experimental system was subjected not only to the distributed external damping (due to distributed mass), but also to the lumped damping, acting on the tip mass. When the lumped external damping included in the analysis, analytical critical forces are in good agreement with experimental ones.  相似文献

The damping effects are generated in a frictionless oscillating physical pendulum by a continuous motion of an auxiliary mass. The main parameters affecting the damping properties of the pendulum-mass system are identified. In particular, the effective damping ratio for a cycle is introduced and derived in a closed form from the energy considerations and then independently from Mathieu's equation. It is shown that a continuous damping can be achieved if the mass motion is synchronized with the pendulum rotation. Otherwise the system becomes prone to ‘beating’ phenomenon. The results presented may be useful for design of active control strategy of autonomous systems with negligible passive damping.  相似文献

The water in a well, which is connected to a confined aquifer, will oscillate if it is displaced and then released. The motion of the water is composed of a periodic and an aperiodic part. The damping of the periodic part is allways subcritical. The frequency of the periodic part increases with the damping and the inertia of the water in the aquifer. The motion is effectively characterized by two parameters: a non-dimensional transmissivity and the storativity. The inertia of the water in the aquifer has a small influence on the frequency, but negligible influence on the damping.  相似文献

Immersed cylinder piles are usually modelled as immersed cantilever cylinder columns carrying a tip mass and rotary moment of inertia. In this paper, the equations of motion of an immersed cylinder pile along transversal modes of vibration are developed. Compressibility of water and structural damping are included in the formulation. Natural frequencies of the immersed pile are obtained from the developed equations using harmonic sweep frequency response analyses. The proposed method is applied to numerical examples, and the results obtained are shown satisfactory when compared to other numerical solutions in the literature, or to finite element solutions and experimental data.  相似文献

由于海上漂浮式风机具有较大的支撑平台运动,气动阻尼效应对海上漂浮式风机的运动响应带来了重要的影响, 日渐受到相关国内外学者的关注. 为了研究海上浮式风机的气动阻尼特性,本文推导了海上浮式风机气动阻尼力的数学模型,并借助模型实验和数值计算的方法,研究了半潜式海上浮式风机的气动阻尼特性及其作用规律. 结果表明,浮式风机的风轮旋转时的气动阻尼比风轮非旋转状态时更加明显;在作业工况下,气动阻尼对半潜式浮式风机平台的纵荡、纵摇、机舱的运动有明显的抑制作用,且主要体现为对半潜式浮式风机的平台运动固有频率响应的抑制作用,对波频范围的平台运动作用甚微. 其变化规律与风速大小、波浪载荷等有关,在风机的额定工况之前,气动阻尼通常与风速呈正相关关系,但是增长率有逐渐减小的趋势;在控制系统作用下,当入流风速接近或超过风机额定风速时,容易出现气动负阻尼现象,反而进一步强化浮式风机的运动响应,此时通过降低变桨距控制器的比例系数,即降低变桨距控制器的灵敏度,有助于增加海上浮式风机的气动阻尼效果,并且在一定程度上减缓负的气动阻尼的发生,改善海上浮式风机的运动响应.   相似文献

This paper is concerned with the dynamics of a spacecraft with multi-strut passive damper for large flexible appendage.The damper platform is connected to the spacecraft by a spheric hinge,multiple damping struts and a rigid strut.The damping struts provide damping forces while the rigid strut produces a motion constraint of the multibody system.The exact nonlinear dynamical equations in reducedorder form are firstly derived by using Kane’s equation in matrix form.Based on the assumptions of small velocity and small displacement,the nonlinear equations are reduced to a set of linear second-order differential equations in terms of independent generalized displacements with constant stiffness matrix and damping matrix related to the damping strut parameters.Numerical simulation results demonstrate the damping effectiveness of the damper for both the motion of the spacecraft and the vibration of the flexible appendage,and verify the accuracy of the linear equations against the exact nonlinear ones.  相似文献

In this paper the macroscopic damping model for dynamical behavior of the structures with random polycrystalline configurations at micro–nano scales is established.First, the global motion equation of a crystal is decomposed into a set of motion equations with independent single degree of freedom(SDOF) along normal discrete modes, and then damping behavior is introduced into each SDOF motion.Through the interpolation of discrete modes, the continuous representation of damping effects for the crystal is obtained.Second, from energy conservation law the expression of the damping coefficient is derived, and the approximate formula of damping coefficient is given. Next, the continuous damping coefficient for polycrystalline cluster is expressed,the continuous dynamical equation with damping term is obtained, and then the concrete damping coefficients for a polycrystalline Cu sample are shown. Finally, by using statistical two-scale homogenization method, the macroscopic homogenized dynamical equation containing damping term for the structures with random polycrystalline configurations at micro–nano scales is set up.  相似文献

Dynamic analysis of a flexible hub-beam system with tip mass   总被引:15,自引:0,他引:15  
For a dynamic system of a rigid hub and a flexible cantilever beam, the traditional hybrid coordinate model assumes the small deformation in structural dynamics where axial and transverse displacements at any point in the beam are uncoupled. This traditional hybrid coordinate model is referred as the zeroth-order approximation coupling model in this paper, which may result in divergence to the dynamic problem of some rigid–flexible coupling systems with high rotational speed. In this paper, characteristics of a flexible hub-beam system with a tip mass is studied. Based on the Hamilton theory and the finite element discretization method, and in consideration of the second-order coupling quantity of the axial displacement caused by the transverse displacement of the beam, the rigid–flexible coupling dynamic model (referred as the first-order approximation coupling (FOAC) model in this paper) and the corresponding model in non-inertial system for the flexible hub-beam system with a tip mass are presented firstly, then the dynamic characteristics of the system are studied through numerical simulations under twos cases: the large motion of the system is known and is unknown. Simulation and comparison studies using both the traditional zeroth-order model and the proposed first-order model show that even small tip mass may affect dynamic characteristics of the system significantly, which may result in the largening of vibrating amplitude and the descending of vibrating frequency of the beam, and may affect end position of the hub-beam system as well. The effect of the tip mass becomes large along with the increasing of rotating speed of large motion of the system. When the large motion of the system is at low speed, the traditional ZOAC model may lead to a large error, whereas the proposed FOAC model is valid. When the large motion is at high speed, the ZOAC model may result in divergence to the dynamic problem of the flexible hub-beam system, while the proposed second model can still accurately describe the dynamic hub-beam system.  相似文献

In this paper, a nonlinear dynamic model of a quarter vehicle with nonlinear spring and damping is established. The dynamic characteristics of the vehicle system with external periodic excitation are theoretically investigated by the incremental harmonic balance method and Newmark method, and the accuracy of the incremental harmonic balance method is verified by comparing with the result of Newmark method. The influences of the damping coefficient, excitation amplitude and excitation frequency on the dynamic responses are analyzed. The results show that the vibration behaviors of the vehicle system can be control by adjusting appropriately system parameters with the damping coefficient, excitation amplitude and excitation frequency. The multi-valued properties, spur-harmonic response and hardening type nonlinear behavior are revealed in the presented amplitude-frequency curves. With the changing parameters, the transformation of chaotic motion, quasi-periodic motion and periodic motion is also observed. The conclusions can provide some available evidences for the design and improvement of the vehicle system.  相似文献

传统的混合坐标建模理论是零次近似方法,对刚柔耦合问题的描述存在缺陷,研究以一个由中心刚体,柔性梁及末端质量组成的刚柔耦合系统对象,建立了精确的一次近似的刚柔耦合动力学方程,在该模型中计及了结构阻尼及风阻的影响,利用单轴气浮台动力学实验平台,通过与实验数据的比较,说明了传统零次近似方法在某些条件下已不能下确描述柔性的刚性正确性和可靠性。  相似文献

This study examines how a tip mass with rotary inertia affects the stability of a follower-loaded cantilevered column. Using nonlinear modeling and perturbation analysis, expressions are set up for determining the stability of the straight column and the amplitude of post-critical flutter oscillations. Bifurcation diagrams are given, showing how the vibration amplitude changes with follower load and other parameters. These results agree closely with numerical simulation. It is found that sufficiently large values of tip mass rotary inertia can change the primary bifurcation from supercritical into subcritical. This can imply very large motions for follower loads just beyond critical, contrasting the finite amplitude motions accompanying supercritical bifurcations. Also, the straight column may be destabilized by a sufficiently strong disturbance at loads far below the value of critical load predicted by linear theory. A similar change in bifurcation is found to occur with increased external (as compared to internal) damping, and with a shortening in column length. These effects are not revealed by linear modeling and analysis, which may consequently fail to predict even qualitatively the real critical load for a column with tip mass.  相似文献

A discrete model of a rope is developed and used to simulate the plane motion of the rope fixed at one end.Actually,two systems are presented,whose members are rigid but non-ideal joints involve elasticity or dissipation.The dissipation is reflected simply by viscous damping model, whereas the bending stiffness conception is based on the classical curvature-bending moment relationship for beams and simple geometrical formulas.Equations of motion are derived and their complexity is discussed from the computational point of view.Since modified extended backward differentiation formulas(MEBDF)of Cash are implemented to solve the resulting initial value problems,the technique scheme is outlined.Numerical experiments are performed and influences of the elasticity and damping on behaviour of the model are analyzed.Basic energy principles are used to verify the obtained results.  相似文献

Existence and uniqueness results are established for weak formulations of initial-boundary value problems which model the dynamic behavior of an Euler-Bernoulli beam that may come into frictional contact with a stationary obstacle. The beam is assumed to be situated horizontally and may move both horizontally and vertically, as a result of applied loads. One end of the beam is clamped, while the other end is free. However, the horizontal motion of the free end is restricted by the presence of a stationary obstacle and when this end contacts the obstacle, the vertical motion of the end is assumed to be affected by friction. The contact and friction at this end is modelled in two different ways. The first involves the classic Signorini unilateral or nonpenetration conditions and Coulomb's law of dry friction; the second uses a normal compliance contact condition and a corresponding generalization of Coulomb's law. In both cases existence and uniqueness are established when the beam is subject to Kelvin-Voigt damping. In the absence of damping, existence of a solution is established for a problem in which the normal contact stress is regularized.The work of the last two authors was supported in part by Oakland University Research Fellowships.  相似文献

The direction of propagation of rolling contact fatigue cracks is observed to depend upon the direction of motion of the load. In this paper approximate calculations are described of the variation of Mode II stress intensity factors at each tip of a subsurface crack, which lies parallel to the surface of an elastic half-space, due to a load moving over the surface. In particular the effect of frictional locking of the crack faces under the load is investigated. In consequence of frictional locking the range of SIF at the trailing tip ΔKT is found to be about 30% greater than that of the leading tip ΔKL, which is consistent with observations that subsurface cracks propagate predominantly in the direction of motion of the load over the surface. The effects on kt and klof crack length, crack face friction, traction forces at the surface and residual shear stresses are also investigated.  相似文献

The present paper deals with the numerical calculation of hydrodynamic mass and damping coefficients under consideration of unsteady sheet cavitation on marine propeller flows. In the first part of the paper, the mathematical and numerical background behind the numerical method is introduced. The numerical calculations carried out in this work are based on a low-order panel method. Panel methods belong to the class of collocation techniques and are applied to obtain a numerical solution of a potential flow based system of boundary integral equations. They are suitable for the present application because of their short computation time which makes them applicable in the design process of marine propellers.Additionally, two different approaches for the determination of hydrodynamic masses and damping are introduced in this work. The hydrodynamic masses and damping are important in studies of the ship motion in seaway and in the analysis of vibrations of a vessel and its appendages. The developed approaches are applied on a propeller flow in heave motion. Hereby, the calculations are performed for a non-rotating and rotating propeller under non-cavitating and cavitating conditions. The results obtained from the simulations are discussed in detail and an outlook is given.  相似文献

The stability of the whirl motion of a breathing cracked rotor with the distinction of stationary damping and the asymmetric rotational damping is studied. By Lagrange’s principal, the motion equations are formed in rotational frame such that the multi-asymmetric system, i.e., asymmetric rotational damping and asymmetric time-periodic varying stiffness, is simplified to be a system with anisotropic damping and anisotropic time-periodical varying stiffness in rotational operation. Based on the multiple scales solution of the simplified whirling equation in moving frame, root locus method for stability analysis is proposed. Different from the former stability estimation method, the corresponding Campbell diagram, decay rate plot, and root locus plot of the fifth-order approach are derived to prove the effects of both crack depth and damping effects. The numerical results of the instabilizing effects of the crack depth are well agreeing with the previous studies. In addition, the destabilizing influence of the rotational damping on the breathing cracked rotor is presented for the first time.  相似文献

The interaction between a traveling pressure perturbation and a laminar compressible boundary layer is investigated for a perturbation level higher than that needed to initiate steady-state flow separation. It is found that if the velocity of the pressure perturbation is fairly high the flow may remain unseparated and its direction of motion determines the nature of the perturbation propagation in the boundary layer. It is shown that even in the linear approximation the perturbations are mainly induced by the linear wall layer and not by the critical layer, which always remains nonlinear. It is also found that in the unsteady case shortwave perturbation oscillations are damped with time while the longwave ones grow and that the growth of the perturbations with time amplifies their damping along the streamwise coordinate while damping reduces it.  相似文献

The wing rock motion is frequently suffered by a wing-body configuration with low swept wing at high angle of attack. It is found from our experimental study that the tip perturbation and wing longitudinal locations affect significantly the wing rock motion of a wing-body. The natural tip perturbation would make the wing rock motion of a nondeterministic nature and an artificial mini-tip perturbation would make the wing rock motion deterministic. The artificial tip perturbation would, as its circumferential location is varied, generate three different types of motion patterns: (1) limit cycle oscillation, (2) irregular oscillation, (3) equilibrium state with tiny oscillation. The amplitude of rolling oscillation corresponding to the limit cycle oscillatory motion pattern is decreased with the wing location shifting downstream along the body axis.  相似文献
