On a 4-dimensional anti-Kähler manifold, its zero scalar curvature implies that its Weyl curvature vanishes and vice versa. In particular any 4-dimensional anti-Kähler manifold with zero scalar curvature is flat.  相似文献

If there exist a smooth function f on $(M^n, g)$ and three real constants $m,\rho ,\lambda $ ( $0<m\le \infty $ ) such that $$\begin{aligned} R_{ij}+f_{ij}-\frac{1}{m}f_if_j=(\rho R+\lambda ) g_{ij}, \end{aligned}$$ we call $(M^n,g)$ a $(m,\rho )$ -quasi-Einstein manifold. Here $R_{ij}$ is the Ricci curvature and R is the scalar curvature of the metric g, respectively. This is a special case of the so-called generalized quasi-Einstein manifold which was a natural generalization of gradient Ricci solitons associated with the Hamilton’s Ricci flow. In this paper, we first obtain some rigidity results for compact $(m,\rho )$ -quasi-Einstein manifolds. Then, we give some classifications under the assumption that the Bach tensor of $(M^n,g)$ is flat.  相似文献

The main aim of this article is to give the complete classification of critical metrics of the volume functional on a compact manifold M with boundary M $\partial M$ and under the harmonic Weyl tensor condition. In particular, we prove that a critical metric with a harmonic Weyl tensor on a simply connected compact manifold with the boundary isometric to a standard sphere S n 1 $\mathbb {S}^{n-1}$ must be isometric to a geodesic ball in a simply connected space form R n $\mathbb {R}^n$ , H n $\mathbb {H}^n$ , and S n $\mathbb {S}^n$ . To this end, we first conclude the classification of such critical metrics under the Bach-flat assumption and then we prove that both geometric conditions are equivalent in this situation.  相似文献

We study asymptotically harmonic manifolds of negative curvature, without any cocompactness or homogeneity assumption. We show that asymptotic harmonicity provides a lot of information on the asymptotic geometry of these spaces: in particular, we determine the volume entropy, the spectrum and the relative densities of visual and harmonic measures on the ideal boundary. Then, we prove an asymptotic analogue of the classical mean value property of harmonic manifolds, and we characterize asymptotically harmonic manifolds, among Cartan–Hadamard spaces of strictly negative curvature, by the existence of an asymptotic equivalent \(\tau (u)\mathrm {e}^{Er}\) for the volume-density of geodesic spheres (with \(\tau \) constant in case \(DR_M\) is bounded). Finally, we show the existence of a Margulis function, and explicitly compute it, for all asymptotically harmonic manifolds.  相似文献

We provide a list of all locally metric Weyl connections with nonpositive sectional curvatures on two types of manifolds, -dimensional tori and with the standard conformal structures. For we prove that it carries no other Weyl connections with nonpositive sectional curvatures, locally metric or not. In the case of we prove the same in the more narrow class of integrable connections.

Let (M, g) be a noncompact complete n-manifold with harmonic curvature and positive Sobolev constant. Assume that the L 2 norms of the traceless Ricci curvature are finite. We prove that (M, g) is Einstein if n ?? 5 and the L n/2 norms of the Weyl curvature and traceless Ricci curvature are small enough.  相似文献

The paper continues our (in collaboration with A. Borisenko [J. Differential Geom. Appl. 20 p., to appear]) discovery of the new classes of $(k,\varepsilon)The paper continues our (in collaboration with A. Borisenko [J. Differential Geom. Appl. 20 p., to appear]) discovery of the new classes of -saddle, -parabolic, and -convex submanifolds ( ). These are defined in terms of the eigenvalues of the 2nd fundamental forms of each unit normal of the submanifold, extending the notion of k-saddle, k-parabolic, k-convex submanifolds ( ). It follows that the definition of -saddle submanifolds is equivalent to the existence of -asymptotic subspaces in the tangent space. We prove non-embedding theorems of -saddle submanifolds, theorems about 1-connectedness and homology groups of these submanifolds in Riemannian spaces of positive (sectional or qth Ricci) curvature, in particular, spherical and projective spaces. We apply these results to submanifolds with ‘small’ normal curvature, , and for submanifolds with extrinsic curvature (resp., non-positive) and small codimension, and include some illustrative examples. The results of the paper generalize theorems about totally geodesic, minimal and k-saddle submanifolds by Frankel; Borisenko, Rabelo and Tenenblat; Kenmotsu and Xia; Mendon?a and Zhou.   相似文献

Summary We determine bounds for the regular genus of any 4-manifold, which is a product of by a closed 3-manifold, or a product of two closed surfaces. This is done by an explicit construction of a graph representing the manifold, and by finding a minimal regular imbedding of it.

In this paper, we have studied submanifolds especially, totally umbilical submanifolds of generalized \((k,\mu )\)-space-forms. We have found a necessary and sufficient condition for such submanifolds to be either invariant or anti-invariant. It is also shown that every totally umbilical submanifold of a generalized \((k,\mu )\)-space-form is a pseudo quasi-Einstein manifold.  相似文献

In this paper, we show that the eigenvalues of are nondecreasing under the Ricci flow for manifolds with nonnegative curvature operator. Then we show that the only steady Ricci breather with nonnegative curvature operator is the trivial one which is Ricci-flat.  相似文献
