Coupled torsional and bending vibrations of a rotor with an open crack   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Summary The influence of transverse cracks on the coupled torsional and bending vibrations of a rotor is presented in this study. A fragment of the shaft of constant cross-section with a crack is modelled by means of a beam finite element. A procedure to calculate the stiffness coefficients in cross-sections weakned by cracks is given. The crack is considered to be open. The stiffness matrix for the above mentioned element is given. The method is illustrated by an example.
Über gekoppelte Dreh- und Biegeschwingungen eines Rotors mit offenem Riß
Übersicht Der Einfluß von transversalen Rissen auf die gekoppelte Dreh- und Biegeschwingungen eines Rotors wird vorgestellt. Der Abschnitt einer Welle von konstantem Querschnitt mit Riß wird mit Hilfe der Finite-Element-Methode modelliert. Ein Rechenverfahren zur Bestimmung der Torsions- und Biegesteifigkeitskoeffizienten in durch den Riß geschwächten Querschnitten wird angegeben. Dabei wird der Spalt als offen betrachtet. Eine Steifigkeitsmatrix für das erwähnte Element wird aufgestellt. Die Methode wird mit einem Beispiel veranschaulicht.

The dynamics of a modified Jeffcott rotor is studied, including rotor torsional deformation and rotor-stator contact. Conditions are studied under which the rotor undergoes either forward synchronous whirling or self-excited backward whirling motions with continuous stator contact. For forward whirling, the effect on the response is investigated for two commonly used rotor-stator friction models, namely, the simple Coulomb friction and a generalized Coulomb law with cubic dependence on the relative slip velocity. For cases with and without the rotor torsional degree of freedom, analytical estimates and numerical bifurcation analyses are used to map out regions in the space of drive speed and a friction parameter, where rotor-stator contact exists. The nature of the bifurcations in which stability is lost are highlighted. For forward synchronous whirling fold, Hopf, lift-off, and period-doubling bifurcations are encountered. Additionally, for backward whirling, regions of transitions from pure sticking to stick-slip oscillations are numerically delineated.  相似文献

Coupling of bending and torsional vibration of a cracked Timoshenko shaft   总被引:8,自引:0,他引:8  
Summary A transverse surface crack is known to add to the shaft a local flexibility due to the stress-strain singularity in the vicinity of the crack tip. This flexibility can be represented by way of a 6 × 6 matrix describing the local flexibility in a short shaft element which includes the crack. This matrix has off-diagonal terms which cause coupling of motion along the directions which are indicated by the off-diagonal terms. Not all motions are coupled, however. To study the coupling of torsion and shear, a 3 × 3 flexibility matrix is used which includes the appropriate terms. Due to the shear terms of the Timoshenko beam equation of the shaft, bending vibration is finally coupled to torsional vibration. This effect is the subject of this investigation, which is of particular importance in turbomachinery operation. The equations of motion of a Timoshenko beam shaft with three degrees of freedom are derived. The free vibration of the shaft and the influence of the crack on the vibrational behaviour of the shaft is studied. The relation of the eigenvalues of the system, to the crack depth and the slenderness ratio of the shaft is derived. Moreover forced vibration analysis of the cracked shaft is performed. The significant influence of the bending vibration on the torsional vibration spectrum, and vice-versa, is demonstrated. It is believed that this effect can be very useful for rotor crack identification in service, which is of importance to turbomachinery.
Kopplung zwischen Biege- und Torsionsschwingungen einer Welle Tom Timoshenko-Balkentyp mit Riß
Übersicht Bekanntlich verringert ein von der Oberfläche in den Querschnitt reichender Riß infolge der Spannungs- und Verzerrungssingularität an der Rißspitze örtlich die Steifigkeit einer Welle. Dies kann mit Hilfe einer 6 × 6-Nachgiebigkeitsmatrix für ein kurzes Wellenstück, das den Riß enthält, beschrieben werden. Die Matrix enthält Elemente außerhalb der Diagonalen, wodurch eine Kopplung der Bewegungen in die Richtungen erfolgt, welche das Element anzeigt. Nicht alle Bewegungen sind dabei verknüpft. Zur Untersuchung der Kopplung von Torsion und Querschub wird eine 3 × 3-Nachgiebigkeitsmatrix benutzt, die die betreffenden Elemente enthält. Infolge der Querkraft-Terme in der Timoshenko-Balkengleichung werden letztendlich Biegef- und Torsionsschwingungen gekoppelt. Dieser Effekt ist Gegenstand der Untersuchung. Die Bewegungsgleichungen eines Timoshenko-Balkens mit 3 Freiheitsgraden werden hergeleitet. Die freien Schwingungen der Welle und der Einfluß des Risses auf das Schwingungsverhalten werden untersucht. Die Beziehungen zwischen Eigenformen, Rißtiefe und Schlankheitsgrad der Welle werden hergeleitet. Darüber hinaus werden erzwungene Schwingungen der angerissenen Welle untersucht. Der deutliche Einfluß der Biegeschwingung auf das Spektrum der Torsionsschwingung und umgekehrt wird aufgezeigt. Dieser Effekt ist bei Turbomaschinen bedeutsam, da er für die Identifizierung von Rotorrissen beim Betrieb nützlich sein müßte.

Summary In this paper we study the centrifugal pendulum as a torsional vibrations absorber of an engine. A non-autonomous two degrees of freedom mechanical system with viscous-Coulomb damping is considered. The motion equations are written and we analyse for small oscillations of the pendulum, the effect of the non linear damping on the response curves in amplitude. Several numerical examples are ratio and the damping coefficients on the resonance peaks.
Sommario In questo lavoro si studia il pendolo centrifugo come ammortizzatore di vibrazioni torsionali di un motore. Si considera un sistema meccanico non autonomo a due gradi di libertà con dissipazione coulombiana-viscosa. Si scrivono le equazioni del moto e si analizza, per piccole oscillazioni del pendolo, l'effetto dell'attrito non lineare sulle curve di risposta in ampiezza. Vengono presentati numerosi esempi numerici per illustrare l'influenza del rapporto di massa e dei coefficienti di attrito sui picchi di risonanza.

A variational formulation is developed for the torsional vibration of a cylindrical shaft with a circumferential crack. The work is compared with existing methods. The Hu–Washizu–Barr variational formulation was used to develop the differential equation and the boundary conditions of the cracked rod. The general variational principle and the independent assumptions about the displacement, the momentum, the strain and the stress fields of the cracked rod, and the equations of motion for a uniform rod in torsional vibration, are derived. The crack was modelled as a continuous flexibility using the displacement field in the vicinity of the crack, found with fracture mechanics methods. Rayleigh quotient was used to approximate the natural frequencies of the cracked rod. Independent evaluations of crack identification methods in rotating shafts are reported and compared with methods using the continuous crack flexibility theory.  相似文献

Summary The present paper deals with the calculation of natural frequencies in a pre-twisted solid with constant cross-section.The axial and torsional displacements of cross-sections are taken into account, as well as the relative inertia forces and couples.The differential equations of the vibration are integrated and their general solution is given.In the paper, by such solution, among the possible cases only the three simplest ones are considered (free-free, fixed-fixed, fixed-free ends) and a numerical example is carried out which enables to evaluate the several orders of magnitude. Other more complex cases will be treated in other papers.
Sommario Nel presente lavoro viene affrontato il problema della determinazione delle frequenze proprie di vibrazione di un solido svergolato a sezione uniforme.Il problema viene risolto tenendo conto degli spostamenti assiali e torsionali di ogni sezione e delle relative forze e coppie di inerzia.Le equazioni differenziali del moto vengono integrate e ne viene fornita la soluzione generale.Mediante tale soluzione vengono esaminati, fra tutti i diversi casi possibili, i tre casi pratici più semplici (estremità del solido entrambe libere, entrambe incastrate, una libera e l'altra incastrata) e viene inoltre svolto un esempio numerico che consente di ottenere i diversi ordini di grandezza.I casi di maggiore complessità verranno esaminati in successivi lavori.

当前实际工程中,角振动试验技术和设备尚不成熟。以指导捷联惯组减振系统设计过程为目的,结合捷联惯性组合减振系统对角共振频率的特殊要求,对线振动、角振动共振频率的关系进行了分析与讨论。建立了捷联惯性组合减振系统的动力学模型,得到了捷联惯组减振系统数学模型,利用刚体动力学方法分析捷联惯组的转动惯量和回转半径,得出理想情况下捷联惯性组合减振系统线共振、角共振频率存在一定的比例关系,并与减振器安装中心到转动中心线的平均距离和惯组回转半径有关的结论。最后讨论了改变减振系统刚度和减振器布置方式两种改变共振频率的方法,并对两种方法进行了比较。  相似文献

In this paper, we analyze the interaction between friction-induced vibrations and self-sustained lateral vibrations caused by a mass-unbalance in an experimental rotor dynamic setup. This study is performed on the level of both numerical and experimental bifurcation analyses. Numerical analyses show that two types of torsional vibrations can appear: friction-induced torsional vibrations and torsional vibrations due to the coupling between torsional and lateral dynamics in the system. Moreover, both the numerical and experimental results show that a higher level of mass-unbalance, which generally increases the lateral vibrations, can have a stabilizing effect on the torsional dynamics, i.e. friction-induced limit cycling can disappear. Both types of analysis provide insight in the fundamental mechanisms causing self-sustained oscillations in rotor systems with flexibility, mass-unbalance and discontinuous friction which support the design of such flexible rotor systems.  相似文献

This paper investigates surface energy effects, including the surface shear modulus, the surface stress, and the surface density, on the free torsional vibration of nanobeams with a circumferential crack and various boundary conditions. To formulate the problem, the surface elasticity theory is used. The cracked nanobeam is modeled by dividing it into two parts connected by a torsional linear spring in which its stiffness is related to the crack severity. Governing equations and corresponding boundary conditions are derived with the aid of Hamilton's principle. Then, natural frequencies are obtained analytically, and the influence of the crack severity and position, the surface energy, the boundary conditions, the mode number, and the dimensions of nanobeam on the free torsional vibration of nanobeams is studied in detail. Results of the present study reveal that the surface energy has completely different effects on the free torsional vibration of cracked nanobeams compared with its effects on the free transverse vibration of cracked nanobeams.  相似文献

The rotor of PMSM-based electromechanically driven system is a typical electromechanically coupled system. In this paper, we analyzed the nonlinear magnetic interaction torque of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) and deduced the nonlinear electromechanically coupled equation of PMSM-based electromechanical driven system using Lagrange–Maxwell theory. We determined the equation of the movement of the dynamic system from his asymmetric double well potential. The unperturbed system was classified to several categories based on the shapes of potential functions and phase portraits. An analytical criterion for homoclinic chaos is written in terms of the system parameters by means of Melnikov’s method. Detailed numerical studies including phase portrait, Poincare map, and bifurcation diagram confirm the analytical prediction and reveal the effect of excitation amplitude and damp on the system transition to chaos. The conclusion can provide reference for deeply research the dynamic behaviors of mechanical drive system.  相似文献

The effect of non-linearities in clastomeric-material dampers used to quiet torsional oscillations of internal-combustion engines shafts is investigated. The method of multiple scales is used to solve the equations for the case of primary resonance. Steady-state solutions are obtained and their stability examined. A relationship that relates the elastomer properdes (for stable solutions) and other system parameters is found. The steady-state response shows a softening behavior of the system although the actual material non-linearity is of the hardening type.  相似文献
