Under investigation in this work is a longitudinal wave motion equation, which describes the solitary waves propagation with dispersion caused by transverse Poisson’s effect in a magneto-electro-elastic circular rod. The Lie symmetry method is employed to study its vector fields and optimal systems, respectively. Furthermore, the symmetry reductions and eight families of soliton wave solutions of the equation are obtained on the basis of the optimal systems, including hyperbolic-type and trigonometric-type solutions. Two of reduced equations are Painlevé-like equations. Finally, by virtue of conservation law multiplier, the complete set of local conservation laws of the equation for the arbitrary constant coefficients is well constructed with a detailed derivation.  相似文献

This paper obtains the 1-soliton solution of a nonlinear wave equation that arises in the study of semiconductors. The conserved quantities are also calculated from this equation. Furthermore, additional non-trivial conserved quantities are computed using the invariance and multiplier approach based on the well known result that the Euler-Lagrange operator annihilates the total divergence.  相似文献

In this paper, the fourth-order time fractional Burgers equation has been investigated, which can be used to describe gas dynamics and traffic flow. By employing the Lie group analysis method, the invariance properties of the equation are provided. With the aid of the sub-equation method, a new type of explicit solutions are well constructed with a detailed derivation. Furthermore, based on the power series theory, we investigate its approximate analytical solutions. Finally, its conservation laws with two kinds of independent variables are performed by making use of the nonlinear self-adjointness method.  相似文献

Conservation laws of a nonlinear (2+1) wave equation utt = (f(u)ux)x +  (g(u)uy)y involving arbitrary functions of the dependent variable are obtained, by writing the equation in the partial Euler-Lagrange form. Noether-type operators associated with the partial Lagrangian are obtained for all possible cases of the arbitrary functions. If either of f(u) or g(u) is an arbitrary nonconstant function, we show that there are an infinite number of conservation laws. If both f(u) and g(u) are arbitrary nonconstant functions, it is shown that there exist infinite number of conservation laws when f′(u) and g′(u) are linearly dependent, otherwise there are eight conservation laws. Finally, we apply the generalized double reduction theorem to a nonlinear (2+1) wave equation when f′(u) and g′(u) are linearly independent.  相似文献

We study higher-order conservation laws of the nonlinearizable elliptic Poisson equation as elements of the characteristic cohomology of the associated exterior differential system. The theory of characteristic cohomology determines a normal form for differentiated conservation laws by realizing them as elements of the kernel of a linear differential operator. We show that the \mathbbS1{\mathbb{S}^1} -symmetry of the PDE leads to a normal form for the undifferentiated conservation laws. Zhiber and Shabat (in Sov Phys Dokl Akad 24(8):607–609, 1979) determine which potentials of nonlinearizable Poisson equations admit nontrivial Lie–B?cklund transformations. In the case that such transformations exist, they introduce a pseudo-differential operator that can be used to generate infinitely many such transformations. We obtain similar results using the theory of characteristic cohomology: we show that for higher-order conservation laws to exist, it is necessary that the potential satisfies a linear second-order ODE. In this case, at most two new conservation laws in normal form appear at each even prolongation. By using a recursion motivated by Killing fields, we show that, for the simplest class of potentials, this upper bound is attained. The recursion circumvents the use of pseudo-differential operators. We relate higher-order conservation laws to generalized symmetries of the exterior differential system by identifying their generating functions. This Noether correspondence provides the connection between conservation laws and the canonical Jacobi fields of Pinkall and Sterling.  相似文献

Symmetry groups, symmetry reductions, optimal system, conservation laws and invariant solutions of the shallow water wave equation with nonlocal term are studied. First, Lie symmetries based on the invariance criterion for nonlocal equations and the solution approach for nonlocal determining equations are found and then the reduced equations and optimal system are obtained. We concentrate on Lie symmetries and conservation laws of the Fokker-Planck equation with power diffusion describing the growth of cell populations. First, we perform a complete symmetry classification of the equation, and then we find some interesting similarity solutions by means of the symmetries and the variable coefficient heat equation. Local dynamical behaviors are analyzed via the solutions for the growing cell populations. Second, we show that the conservation law multipliers of the equation take the form Λ=Λ(t,x,u), which satisfy a linear partial differential equation, and then give the general formula of conservation laws. Finally, symmetry properties of the conservation law are investigated and used to construct conservation laws of the reduced equations.  相似文献

We construct approximate conservation laws for non-variational nonlinear perturbed (1+1) heat and wave equations by utilizing the partial Lagrangian approach. These perturbed nonlinear heat and wave equations arise in a number of important applications which are reviewed. Approximate symmetries of these have been obtained in the literature. Approximate partial Noether operators associated with a partial Lagrangian of the underlying perturbed heat and wave equations are derived herein. These approximate partial Noether operators are then used via the approximate version of the partial Noether theorem in the construction of approximate conservation laws of the underlying perturbed heat and wave equations.  相似文献

In Ibragimov (2007) [13] a general theorem on conservation laws was proved. In Gandarias (2011) and Ibragimov (2011) [7], [15] the concepts of self-adjoint and quasi self-adjoint equations were generalized and the definitions of weak self-adjoint equations and nonlinearly self-adjoint equations were introduced. In this paper, we find the subclasses of nonlinearly self-adjoint porous medium equations. By using the property of nonlinear self-adjointness, we construct some conservation laws associated with classical and nonclassical generators of the differential equation.  相似文献

In this paper, further study of the conservation laws of the nonlinear (1+1) wave equation involving two arbitrary functions of the dependent variable is performed. This equation is not derivable from a variational principle. By writing the equation, admitting a partial Lagrangian, in the partial Euler–Lagrange   form, partial Noether operators associated with the partial Lagrangian are obtained for all possible cases of the functions. These partial Noether operators do not form a Lie algebra in general. Partial Noether operators aid via a formula in the construction of the conservation laws of the equation. We obtain new conservation laws for the equation which have not been presented in the earlier literature.  相似文献

Hyperbolic systems of conservaiton laws with a symmetry are studied. Some peculiar phenomena for such systems are shown. Admissibility criteria for solutions to such systems are discussed. propagation and cancellation of initial oscillations for the systems are classified. This paper considers a generalization depending on an arbitrary function f(u) of a sixth-order Boussinesq equation which arises in shallow water waves theory. Interestingly, this equation admits a Hamiltonian formulation when written as a system. A classification of point symmetries and conservation laws in terms of the function f(u) is presented for both, the generalized Boussinesq equation and the equivalent Hamiltonian system.  相似文献

In this paper, we employed the linear transformation group approach to time dependent nonlinear diffusion equations describing thermal energy storage problem. Symmetry analysis of the governing equation resulted in admitted large Lie symmetry algebras for some special cases of the arbitrary constants and the source term. Some transformations that lead to equations with fewer arbitrary parameters are applied and classical Lie point symmetry methods are employed to analyze the transformed equations. Some symmetry reductions are performed and wherever possible the reduced ordinary differential equations are completely solved subject to realistic boundary conditions.  相似文献
