Products of Toeplitz Operators on the Polydisk

This paper studies products of Toeplitz operators on the Hardy space of the polydisk. We show that T _f T _g = 0 if and only if T _f T _g is a finite rank if and only if T _f or T _g is zero. The product T _f T _g is still a Toeplitz operator if and only if there is a h $ \in $ L $ \infty $ (T ⁿ ) such that T _f T _g - T _h is a finite rank operator. We also show that there are no compact simi-commutators with symbols pluriharmonic on the polydisk. Submitted: October 5, 2000     

Toeplitz Products on Bergman–Sobolev Spaces over the Unit Polydisk

In this paper, we characterize the compactness and Fredholmness of Toeplitz operators and Toeplitz products on Bergman–Sobolev spaces over the unit polydisk. We also calculate the essential norm of finite sums of finite Toeplitz products on these spaces.

Sums of Products of Toeplitz and Hankel Operators on the Dirichlet Space

On the Dirichlet space of the unit disk, we consider operators that are finite sums of Toeplitz products, Hankel products or products of a Toeplitz operator and a Hankel operator. We characterize when such operators are equal to zero. Our results extend several known results using completely different arguments.

On the weighted Bergman and Dirichlet spaces, we characterize the compactness for operators which are finite sums of products of several Toeplitz operators. Our results extend the several known results by using complete different arguments.

Sums and Products from a Finite Set of Real Numbers

If A is a finite set of positive integers, letE_h(A) denote the set of h-fold sums andh -fold products of elements of A. This paper is concerned with the behavior of the function f_h(k), the minimum of E_h(A) taken over all A withA=k . Upper and lower bounds for f_h(k) are proved, improving bounds given by Erds, Szemerédi, and Nathanson. Moreover, the lower bound holds when we allow A to be a finite set of arbitrary positive real numbers.
