This paper investigates a globally nonlocal coupled map lattice. A rigorous proof to the existence of chaos in the scene of Li–Yorke in that system is presented in terms of the Marotto theorem. Analytical sufficient conditions under which the system is chaotic, and has synchronous behaviors are determined, respectively. The wider regions associated with chaos and synchronous behaviors are shown by simulations. Spatiotemporal chaos, synchronous chaos and some other synchronous behaviors such as fixed points, 2-cycles and 22-cycles are also shown by simulations for some values of the parameters. 相似文献

We consider the following equation with Kirchhoff term $-(a+b\int_{\mathbb{R}^3} {|\nabla u|^2} dx)$ $\Delta u + u =|u|^{p-2}u$, $u \in H^1 (\mathbb{R}^3)$, where $a, b$ are positive constants and $2 < p < 6$. By deducing a variant variational identity and a constraint set, we are able to prove the existence of a non-radially symmetric solution $u(x_1, x_2, x_3)$ for the full range of $p\in (2,6)$. Moreover this solution $u(x_1, x_2, x_3)$ is radially symmetric with respect to $(x_1,x_2)$ and odd with respect to $x_3$. 相似文献

The present contribution is concerned with an analytical presentation of the low‐frequency electromagnetic fields, which are scattered off a highly conductive ring torus that is embedded within an otherwise lossless ambient and interacting with a time‐harmonic magnetic dipole of arbitrary orientation, located nearby in the three‐dimensional space. Therein, the particular 3‐D scattering boundary value problem is modeled with respect to the solid impenetrable torus‐shaped body, where the toroidal geometry fits perfectly. The incident, the scattered, and the total non‐axisymmetric magnetic and electric fields are expanded in terms of positive integral powers of the real‐valued wave number of the exterior medium at the low‐frequency regime, whereas the static Rayleigh approximation and the first three dynamic terms provide the most significant part of the solution, because all the additional terms are small contributors and, hence, they are neglected. Consequently, the typical Maxwell‐type physical problem is transformed into intertwined either Laplace's or Poisson's potential‐type boundary value problems with the proper conditions, attached to the metallic surface of the torus. The fields of interest assume representations via infinite series expansions in terms of standard toroidal eigenfunctions, obtaining in that way analytical closed‐form solutions in a compact fashion. Although this mathematical procedure leads to infinite linear systems for every single case, these can be readily and approximately solved at a certain level of desired accuracy through standard cut‐off techniques. The article deals with a particular case of a two-neuron network with two discrete time delays. We analyse the linear stability for the particular equilibrium (0,0), and address the Hopf bifurcation which may occur as one of the delays crosses some critical values. We consider the following on-line decision problem. The vertices of a realization of the random graph G(n,p) are being observed one by one by a selector. At time m, the selector examines the mth vertex and knows the graph induced by the m vertices that have already been examined. The selector’s aim is to choose the currently examined vertex maximizing the probability that this vertex has full degree, i.e. it is connected to all other vertices in the graph. An optimal algorithm for such a choice (in other words, optimal stopping time) is given. We show that it is of a threshold type and we find the threshold and its asymptotic estimation. 相似文献

Let T be a symmetric directed tree, i.e., an undirected tree with each edge viewed as two opposite arcs. We prove that the minimum number of colors needed to color the set of all directed paths in T, so that two paths of the same color never use the same directed arc of T, is equal to the maximum number of different paths that contain the same arc of T. The proof implies a polynomial time algorithm for actually coloring the paths with the minimum number of colors. When only a subset of the directed paths is to be colored, the problem is known to be NP‐complete; we describe certain instances of the problem which can be efficiently solved. These results are applied to WDM (wavelength‐division multiplexing) routing in all‐optical networks. Conservative finite-difference schemes are constructed for the problem of a femtosecond laser pulse propagating in a cubically nonlinear medium in the axially symmetric case with allowance for temporal dispersion of the nonlinear response of the medium. The process is governed by the nonlinear Schrödinger equation involving the time derivative of the nonlinear term. The invariants of the differential problem are presented. It is shown that the difference analogues of these invariants hold for the solution to the finite-difference schemes proposed for the problem. As an example, the numerical results obtained for the self-focusing of a femtosecond light beam are presented. 相似文献

In this article, we are concerned with the asymptotic behavior of spherically symmetric solution of a viscous radiative and reactive gas in a field of external force in an unbounded domain exterior to the unit sphere in for n ≥ 3. The global solution is proved to exist uniquely and converges to the stationary solution as time tends to infinity for large initial data. This paper investigates the existence of an area (or Dirichlet integral) minimizing parametric surface in a hyperbolic 3-manifold subject to a volume constraint. The existence of a minimizing surface is proved, assuming some conditions on the prescribed free homotopy class. This result implies a non-existence result of minimizing surfaces of prescribed mean curvature. A criterion for the existence of surfaces of prescribed mean curvature, which turns out to be optimal in view of the non-existence result, is also obtained. 相似文献

singular integral equation, from the solution of which the tractions in the bonds are found.
