A transverse flow, transverse discharge cw CO2 laser in which de discharge is sustained by employing high repetition rate high voltage pulses has been developed. Pulser
sustained discharge through electrodes of innovative design provided uniform excitation at electrical input power densities
more than 10 W/cc. Laser output power more than 2.5 kW was obtained in a laser gas mixture consisting of 0.5 mbar of CO2, 16 mbar of N2 and 38.5 mbar of He. Design details and operational characteristics of this laser are presented. 相似文献

A transverse flow transversely excited (TFTE) CW CO2 with a maximum output power about 15 kW has been developed. This is excited by pulser sustained DC discharge applied between a pair of multi-pins anodes and a common tubular cathode. Though the laser power in convective cooled CO2 laser scales proportionally with the volumetric gas flow, it did not increase in this laser when the volumetric gas flow was increased by increasing the electrode separation keeping the flow velocity constant. The discharge voltage too remained almost unchanged with increase of the electrode separation. These observations are explained considering the electrical discharge being controlled by ionization instability. Laser materials processing applications often demand programming facilities for laser power modulation. A four-stage cascaded multilevel DC–DC converter-based high-frequency switch mode power supply has been developed to modulate the output power of the laser. Laser was operated up to 15 kW output power in four different modes viz. continuous wave mode, pulse periodic mode, single shot mode and processing velocity-dependent power mode with 1.2 kHz modulation bandwidth. We present the results of analysis of the errors introduced by hot-band transitions 1110-0111, 0310-0111, 1200-1201 of the CO2 molecule and the absorption lines of the H2O and NO2 molecules in determination of the temperature and partial pressure of CO2, included in the gas mixture CO2: N2:H2O: NO2 at atmospheric pressure, by multiple-frequency laser probing using a CO2 laser tunable over the lines of the 0001-[1000,0200]I,II ground-state laser transitions.

We have measured absorption of emission from a TEA CO2 laser, lasing on hot band lines, in pure CS2 and a mixture of CS2 with air, and we have determined the optimal lines for optical excitation. Numerical modeling has shown that as the peak
intensity of the pump radiation is increased, we observe absorption saturation, the extent of which decreases as the pressure
increases. The major factor responsible for absorption saturation is the “rotational bottleneck” effect. Depending on the
peak intensity of the radiation, addition of a buffer gas can lead to an increase or decrease in the absorption.

The vibrational kinetics of CW CO2 lasers has been analyzed within the framework of a temperature model. The necessity of taking into account the coupling of the vibrational modes of the CO2 molecule in determining the occupation numbers and the store of vibrational energy in individual modes is shown. Expressions that connect vibrational temperatures with the rates of excitation and relaxation of the lower vibrational levels of modes have been obtained. The optimum transmitivity of the output coupler is found to be almost constant (about 60%), independent of the small signal
gain and laser power. In fast axial flow CO2 lasers the gas flow should be divided into several discharge tubes to maintain the flow velocity within sonic limit. The
discharge length in this type of laser does not depend explicitly on the laser power, instead it depends on the input power
density in the discharge and the gas flow velocity. Various considerations for ensuring better laser beam quality are also

A technique of detection of ozone, using a CO2 laser with rapid automated tuning over 8–10 generation lines in the 9.4–9.6-µm spectral range, has been developed. Its experimental verification has shown a higher accuracy of detecting low concentrations of O3 in comparison with the traditional technique of differential absorption on two lines (on-line and off-line). 利用激光光束分析仪,实时在线测量了一根He-N2-CO2封离式激光管的横模分布特性,得到了激光模式随放电电流的变化关系.实验表明该激光器在最佳工作电流时,容易形成低阶模运转,但很难获得基模运转,通过改善对称性以及加快冷却水流速可以获得基模运转.通过激光动力学过程分析了模式变化的形成原因,为大功率激光器模式控制与改善提供了一定的理论和实验借鉴.

Structures of H2CN and CH2CN molecules are similar to that of H2CO molecule. The H2CO has shown anomalous absorption for its transition 111–110 at 4.8 GHz in a number of cool molecular clouds. Though the molecules H2CN and CH2CN have been identified in TMC-1 and Sgr B2 through some transitions in ortho as well as in para species, here we have investigated
the condition under which transitions 111–110 and 212–211 of these molecules may show anomalous absorption.
For the present investigation, we have calculated energy levels and radiative transition probabilities. However, we have used
scaled values for collisional rate coefficients. We found that relative values of collisional rate coefficients can produce
the required anom-alous absorption in 111–110 and 212–211 transitions in the molecules.

A precursor of TiO2–LiCo1/3Ni1/3Mn1/3O2 was prepared by electrostatic self-assembly method. The final product was obtained by heating the precursor at 400–450 °C
for 4–6 h in air. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and
electrochemical tests were used to examine the structural, morphology, elementary valence, and electrochemical characteristics.
XRD indicated that the TiO2-coated material can be indexed by α-NaFeO2 layered structure, which belongs to hexagonal-type space group R3m. XPS results confirmed the existence of TiO2 compound on the surface of the coated sample. The SEM image showed that the material had spherically porous morphology with
the uniform size about 6 μm. The initial charge–discharge capacity of the TiO2-coated LiCo1/3Ni1/3Mn1/3O2 material was 168.8/160.0 mAh/g. After 60 cycles, the discharge capacity of the TiO2-coated LiCo1/3Ni1/3Mn1/3O2 sample was 147.0 mAh/g, and the coulombic efficiency was 94.0%. Compared with the uncoated sample, the electrochemical performance
of TiO2-coated LiCo1/3Ni1/3Mn1/3O2 was improved. 相似文献

There has been an increasing interest towards the incorporation of nanosize ceramic fillers in polymer electrolytes. Solid
polymer electrolytes based on polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), silver triflate (AgCF3SO3), and x wt% of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) nanopowders (where x = 1, 3, 5, and 10, respectively) have been prepared using solution casting technique. The structural characteristics of these
thin film specimens were studied using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns at room temperature.
The appearance of new absorption bands and gradual shifts observed in some characteristic peaks confirmed the complex formation
between polyvinylidene fluoride and silver triflate. Furthermore, the addition of nanosized filler Al2O3 has also indicated the interaction of the filler with the polymer salt complex. The XRD patterns obtained for all these samples
in the 2θ range 10° to 70° showed the amorphous nature of these samples.

With the solid phase reaction between pulsed-laser-deposited (PLD) ZnO film and α-Al2O3 substrate, ZnAl2O4/α-Al2O3 complex substrates were synthesized. X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectra show that as the reaction proceeds, ZnAl2O4 changes from the initial (111)-oriented single crystal to poly-crystal, and then to inadequate (111) orientation. Corresponding
scanning electron microscope (SEM) images indicate that the surface morphology of ZnAl2O4 transforms from uniform islands to stick structures, and then to bulgy-line structures. In addition, XRD spectra present
that ZnAl2O4 prepared at low temperature is unstable at the environment of higher temperature. On the as-obtained ZnAl2O4/α-Al2O3 substrates, GaN films were grown without any nitride buffer using light-radiation heating low-pressure MOCVD (LRH-LP-MOCVD).
XRD spectra indicate that GaN film on this kind of complex substrate changes fromc-axis single crystal to poly-crystal as ZnAl2O4 layer is thickened. For the single crystal GaN, its full width at half maximum (FWHM) of X-ray rocking curve is 0.4°. Results
indicate that islands on thin ZnAl2O4 layer can promote nucleation at initial stage of GaN growth, which leads to the (0001)-oriented GaN film. 相似文献

We present the characteristics of an optical parametric oscillator based on a KTP crystal, pumped with noncritical phase matching
by a pulsed Ti3+:Al2O3 laser, tunable in the range 677–970 nm. Tunable generation of signal and idler waves is obtained in the ranges 1030–1390
nm and 2690–3050 nm respectively. The efficiency of conversion of the pump to the signal wave is ≈23%, which for pulses of
duration ≈8 nsec ensures an energy in the range 1.0–11.5 mJ. The width of the emission spectrum for the signal wave is within
the range 0.8–1.8 nm and is predominantly determined by the linewidth of the Ti3+:Al2O3 pump laser.

The 60 Hz AC discharges generated by a leakage transformer instead of an isolation one, which is usually used in the power supply of DC CO2 laser, are employed as a pumping source in this experiment. The laser performance characteristics as functions of pressure and discharge current have been investigated. The maximum laser power is about 40 W at conditions of 18 Torr and 35 mA. The output power is not less than that of DC discharge at the same condition. In addition, the laser outputs of 60 Hz AC discharges obtained by different transformers such as a leakage type and an isolation one have been measured. It was found that the laser power obtained by the leakage transformer is saturated at the higher current compared with the isolation transformer. 相似文献

High power industrial multibeam CO2 lasers consist of a large number of closely packed parallel glass discharge tubes sharing a common plane parallel resonator.
Every discharge tube forms an independent resonator. When discharge tubes of smaller diameter are used and the Fresnel numberN ≪ 1 for all resonators, they operate in waveguide mode. Waveguide modes have excellent discrimination of higher order modes.
A DC excited waveguide multibeam CO2 laser is reported having six glass discharge tubes. Simultaneous excitation of DC discharge in all sections is achieved by
producing pre-ionization using an auxiliary high frequency pulsed discharge along with its other advantages. Maximum 170 W
output power is obtained with all beams operating in EH11 waveguide mode. The specific power of 28 W/m is much higher as compared to similar AC excited waveguide multibeam CO2 lasers. Twenty-five new laser lines have been obtained in the wavelength region from 155 to 830 μm by optically pumping the CD2Cl2 (deuterated dichloromethane) molecule with a CW CO2 laser having a tunability range of 300 MHz. The wavelength, polarization relative to that of CO2 pumping radiation, and offset relative to the CO2 center frequency were determined for all of the new lines and some other already known laser emissions.
