We consider Toeplitz operators with piecewise continuous symbols and singular integral operators with piecewise continuous coefficients onL p (,w) where 1<p<,w is a Muckenhoupt weight and belongs to a large class of Carleson curves. This class includes curves with corners and cusps as well as curves that look locally like two logarithmic spirals scrolling up at the same point. Our main result says that the essential spectrum of a Toeplitz operator is obtained from the essential range of its symbol by joining the endpoints of each jump by a certain spiralic horn, which may degenerate to a usual horn, a logarithmic spiral, a circular arc or a line segment if the curve and the weightw behave sufficiently well at the point where the symbol has a jump. This result implies a symbol calculus for the closed algebra of singular integral operators with piecewise continuous coefficients onL p (,w).Research supported by the Alfried Krupp Förderpreis für junge Hochschullehrer of the Krupp Foundation.  相似文献

Given a manifoldB with conical singularities, we consider the cone algebra with discrete asymptotics, introduced by Schulze, on a suitable scale ofL p -Sobolev spaces. Ellipticity is proven to be equivalent to the Fredholm property in these spaces; it turns out to be independent of the choice ofp. We then show that the cone algebra is closed under inversion: whenever an operator is invertible between the associated Sobolev spaces, its inverse belongs to the calculus. We use these results to analyze the behaviour of these operators onL p (B).  相似文献

The paper is devoted to study of singular integral operators with fixed singularities at endpoints of contours on weighted Lebesgue spaces with general Muckenhoupt weights. Compactness of certain integral operators with fixed singularities is established. The membership of singular integral operators with fixed singularities to Banach algebras of singular integral operators on weighted Lebesgue spaces with slowly oscillating Muckenhoupt weights is proved on the basis of Balakrishnans formula from the theory of strongly continuous semi-groups of closed linear operators. Symbol calculus for such operators, Fredholm criteria and index formulas are obtained.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the question to obtain (algebraic and topologic) equivalence (after extension) relations between convolution type operators on unions of intervals and convolution type operators on the half-line. These operators are supposed to act between Bessel potential spaces,H s,p , which are the appropriate spaces in several applications. The present approach is based upon special properties of convenient projectors, decompositions and extension operators and the construction of certain homeomorphisms between the kernels of the projectors. The main advantage of the method is that it provides explicit operator matrix identities between the mentioned operators where the relations are constructed only by bounded invertible operators. So they are stronger than the (algebraic) Kuijper-Spitkovsky relation and the Bastos-dos Santos-Duduchava relation with respect to the transfer of properties on the prize that the relations depend on the orders of the spaces and hold only for non-critical orders:S – 1/p . For instance, (generalized) inverses of the operators are explicitly represented in terms of operator matrix factorization. Some applications are presented. This research was supported by Junta Nacional de Investigação Científica e Tecnológica (Portugal) and the Bundesminister für Forschung und Technologie (Germany) within the projectSingular Operators-new features and applications, and by a PRAXIS XXI project under the titleFactorization of Operators and Applications to Mathematical Physics.  相似文献

We ask when convolution operators with scalar- or operator-valued kernel functions map between weighted L2 spaces of Hilbert space-valued functions. For a certain class of decreasing weights, including negative powers (ta)m for example, we solve the one-weight problem completely by using Laplace transforms and Bergman-type spaces of vector-valued analytic functions. For a much more general class of decreasing weights, we solve the one-weight problem for all positive real kernels (also for Lp(w) with p > 1), by results on Steklov operators which generalise the weighted Hardy inequality. When the kernel function is a strongly continuous semigroup of bounded linear Hilbert space operators, which arises from input–output maps of certain linear systems, then the most obvious sufficient condition for boundedness, obtained by taking norm signs inside the integrals, is also necessary in many cases, but not in general. We study the commutator of the multiplication and harmonic Bergman projection, Hankel and Toeplitz operators on the harmonic Bergman spaces. The same type operators have been well studied on the analytic Bergman spaces. The main difficulty of this study is that the bounded harmonic function space is not an algebra! In this paper, we characterize theL p boundedness and compactness of these operators with harmonic symbols. Results about operators in Schatten classes, the cut-off phenomenon and general symbols are also included.Partially supported by a grant from the Research Grants Committee of the University of Alabama.  相似文献

We describe the Fredholm symbol algebra for theC *-algebra generated by two dimensional singular integral operators, acting onL 2(2), and whose symbols admit homogeneous discontinuities. Locally these discontinuities are modeled by homogeneous functions having slowly oscillating (and, in particular, piecewise continuous) discontinuities on a system of rays outgoing from the origin. These results extend the well-known Plamenevsky results for the two dimensional case. We present here an alternative and much clearer approach to the problem.Rostov State University RussiaPartially supported by Russian Fund for Fundamental Investigations, RFFI-98-01-01-023, and by CONACYT project 32424-EPartially supported by CONACYT Project 27934-E, México.  相似文献

We prove a statement on the boundedness of a certain class of singular type operators in the weighted spaces with variable exponent p(x) and a power type weight w, from which we derive the boundedness of pseudodifferential operators of H?rmander class S 0 1,0 in such spaces. This gives us a possibility to obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for pseudodifferential operators of the class OPS m 1,0 with symbols slowly oscillating at infinity, to be Fredholm within the frameworks of weighted Sobolev spaces with constant smoothness s, variable p(·)-exponent, and exponential weights w. This paper is devoted to some of the properties of uniformly elliptic differential operators with bounded coefficients on manifolds of bounded geometry in L pspaces. We prove the coincidence of minimal and maximal extensions of an operator of a considered type with a positive principal symbol, the existence of holomorphic semigroup, generated by it, and the estimates of L p-norms of the operators of this semigroup. Some spectral properties of such operators in L pspaces are also studied.  相似文献

Fredholm weighted composition operators   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7
We characterize the Fredholm weighted composition operators onC(X). In particular, ifX is a set with some regular property like intervals or balls inR n , our characterization implies that a weighted composition operator is Fredholm if and only if it is invertible. This equivalence is true for weighted composition operators onL p (), where is a nonatomic measure (1p<).  相似文献

Abstract

This note contains an order-theoretical approach to the theory of stochastic operators. Our main result is a necessary condition for the existence of n-th roots of an ergodic and conservative operator, which generalizes known results for measure-preserving operators and operators on L p-type spaces.  相似文献

We study the short-time Fourier transformation, modulation spaces, Gabor representations and time-frequency localization operators, for functions and tempered distributions that have as range space a Banach or a Hilbert space. In the Banach space case the theory of modulation spaces contains some modifications of the scalar-valued theory, depending on the Banach space. In the Hilbert space case the modulation spaces have properties similar to the scalar-valued case and the Gabor frame theory essentially works. For localization operators in this context symbols are operator-valued. We generalize two results from the scalar-valued theory on continuity on certain modulation spaces when the symbol belongs to an Lp,q space and M, respectively. The first result is true for any Banach space as range space, and the second result is true for any Hilbert space as range space.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a class of weighted integral operators onL 2 (0, ) and show that they are unitarily equivalent to Hankel operators on weighted Bergman spaces of the right half plane. We discuss conditions for the Hankel integral operator to be finite rank, Hilbert-Schmidt, nuclear and compact, expressed in terms of the kernel of the integral operator. For a particular class of weights these operators are shown to be unitarily equivalent to little Hankel operators on weighted Bergman spaces of the disc, and the symbol correspondence is given. Finally the special case of the unweighted Bergman space is considered and for this case, motivated by approximation problems in systems theory, some asymptotic results on the singular values of Hankel integral operators are provided.  相似文献

We study integral operators on (−1, 1) with kernels k(x, t) which may have weak singularities in (x, t) with xN1, tN2, or x=t, where N1,N2 are sets of measure zero. It is shown that such operators map weighted L–spaces into certain weighted spaces of smooth functions, where the degree of smoothness is the higher the smoother the kernel k(x, t) as a function in x is. The spaces of smooth function are generalizations of the Ditzian-Totik spaces which are defined in terms of the errors of best weighted uniform approximation by algebraic polynomials.  相似文献

New inequalities of singular values of the integral operators with smoothL 2 kernels are obtained and shown by examples to be sharp if the kernels satisfy also certain boundary conditions. These results are based on an idea of Gohberg-Krein by which the singular values of the integral operators are interrelated to the eigenvalues of some two point boundary value problems.Dedicate to Professor Ky Fan on the occasion of his 85th birthday  相似文献

In this paper, which is a continuation of [73] part I, explicit solutions of two mixed b.v.ps. for the vectorial Lamé equation with DDT/DDT data, TTD/TTD data, resp., given on a system ofN=2 parallel screen-crack half-planes, are derived by explicit calculation of the factors of the corresponding (residual)L 2-lifted nonrational 6×6 Wiener-Hopf-Fouriersymbol matrices, which were scalarized ton-part form (n=6) structures For a single screen two WHOs closely related to theRawlins problem and the impedance problem for the (scalar) Helmholtz equation are established to be Fredholm operators, the second when assuming the regularity higher thanH 1 i.e. H 1+, 0<<1/2. The WHO of theN-screen Dirichlet (and Neumann) problem for the Helmholtz equation is shown to be invertible by an operator Neumann series, even for small distances between the half-planes.Dedicated to Professor W. Generalized Anti-Wick operators are introduced as a class of pseudodifferential operators which depend on a symbol and two different window functions. Using symbols in Sobolev spaces with negative smoothness and windows in so-called modulation spaces, we derive new conditions for the boundedness on L2 of such operators and for their membership in the Schatten classes. These results extend and refine results contained in [20], [10], [5], [4], and [14].  相似文献

We establish a Fredholm criterion and an index formula for Toeplitz operators with semi-almost-periodic matrix symbols on the Hardy spaces H p (1<p<). Our main result completes the Fredholm theory of the aforementioned operators and generalizes previous results, which concerned the case p=2 or were based on certain additional assumptions, such as factorizability, for the almost-periodic representatives of the symbol.  相似文献

The problem of getting effective Fredholm conditions for operators with bihomogeneous kernels reduces to the question of invertibility for families of operators with homogeneous kernels and to the calculation of homotopy invariants for spaces of Fredholm and invertible operators of that type. The purpose of the present paper is to study integral operators with homogeneous kernels of compact type in L p (? n ), 1 < p < +??. The classes of homotopy equivalence for the spaces of Fredholm and invertible operators in the C*-algebra of pair operators with homogeneous kernels of compact type are calculated by means of operator K-theory.  相似文献
