We study the one twisted loop contribution to the five-point function in the Neveu-Schwarz model. The formulation obtained incorporates the requirements of duality and analyticity (Steinmann relations), provides a low-mass vector-pseudoscalar system predominantly as an S-wave JP = 1+ state near threshold, conserves approximately t-channel helicity and thus is an interesting candidate for the phenomenology of diffractive dissociation.  相似文献

The elastic scattering of spinless charged particles on nuclei is considered within the strong-absorption model proposed by Ericson for the S matrix in the angular-momentum representation. Our analytic method for summing partial-wave amplitudes, which is based on a generalization of the Abel-Plana formula, makes it possible to take into account the contributions from the possible singularities of the S matrix in the right-hand half-plane of the complex-valued variable l. The uniform asymptotic behavior obtained in the present study for the scattering amplitude offers a fresh view on the origin of the diffraction patterns in the angular distributions of elastically scattered heavy particles. Special attention is given to Coulomb-nuclear interference (in particular, to refraction phenomena) in the case of scattering into the classically allowed region (illuminated region) and the classically forbidden region (shadow region). In contrast to other analytic results, our solutions to the diffraction problem within the Ericson model do not give grounds whatsoever to draw profound analogies either with Fresnel diffraction in optics or with the phenomenon of rainbow scattering in classical mechanics.  相似文献

Unitarity effects of multiparticle channels on elastic scattering are studied schematically in the dual model. Explanations are offered for (A) the difference in energy dependence between ‘Pomeron’ and isospin exchanges, (B) the difference in the slopes of diffraction peaks for exotic and non exotic reactions, and (C) the ‘cross-over’ phenomenon.  相似文献

We review diffractive deep inelastic scattering (DIS) in the light of the collinear factorization theorem. This theorem allows one to define diffractive parton distributions in the leading twist approach. Due to its selective final states, diffractive DIS offers interesting insight into the form of the diffractive parton distributions which we explore with the help of the saturation model. We find Regge-like factorization with the correct energy dependence measured at HERA. A remarkable feature of diffractive DIS is the dominance of the twist-4 contribution for small diffractive masses. We quantify this effect and make a comparison with the data. The cross section for the diffractive deep-inelastic scattering process ep→eXp is measured, with the leading final state proton detected in the H1 Forward Proton Spectrometer. The data analysed cover the range xIP<0.1 in fractional proton longitudinal momentum loss, 0.08<|t|<0.5 GeV-2 in squared four-momentum transfer at the proton vertex, 2<Q2<50 GeV2 in photon virtuality and 0.004<β=x/xIP<1, where x is the Bjorken scaling variable. For , the differential cross section has a dependence of approximately dσ/dt∝e6t, independently of xIP, β and Q2 within uncertainties. The cross section is also measured triple differentially in xIP, β and Q2. The xIP dependence is interpreted in terms of an effective pomeron trajectory with intercept αIP(0)=1.114±0.018(stat.)±0.012(syst.)+0.040 -0.020(model) and a sub-leading exchange. The data are in good agreement with an H1 measurement for which the event selection is based on a large gap in the rapidity distribution of the final state hadrons, after accounting for proton dissociation contributions in the latter. Within uncertainties, the dependence of the cross section on x and Q2 can thus be factorised from the dependences on all studied variables which characterise the proton vertex, for both the pomeron and the sub-leading exchange.  相似文献

Helicity amplitudes for diffractive leptoproduction of the S and D wave states of vector mesons are derived. A dramatically different spin dependence for production of the S and D wave vector mesons is predicted. It is found that RLT is very small and that the higher twist effects in the production of longitudinally polarized D wave vector mesons are abnormally large. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. Teor. The elastic scattering amplitude is divided into contributions arising from the “near” and “far” sides of the interaction region. Each of these contributions is further divided into a diffractive component arising from strong absorption and refractive components arising from the repulsive Coulomb and attractive nuclear fields. Damped orbiting of the projectile around the target is also allowed for. Simple closed form expressions are derived for the various contributions by assuming specific forms for the elastic scattering matrix. The results are discussed by analysing several typical elastic scattering data.  相似文献

Measurements are presented of diffractive open charm production at HERA. The event topology is given by ep→eXY where the system X contains at least one charmed hadron and is well separated by a large rapidity gap from a leading low-mass proton remnant system Y. Two analysis techniques are used for the cross section measurements. In the first, the charm quark is tagged by the reconstruction of a D(2010) meson. This technique is used in deep-inelastic scattering (DIS) and photoproduction (γp). In the second, a method based on the displacement of tracks from the primary vertex is used to measure the open charm contribution to the inclusive diffractive cross section in DIS. The measurements are compared with next-to-leading order QCD predictions based on diffractive parton density functions previously obtained from a QCD analysis of the inclusive diffractive cross section at H1. A good agreement is observed in the full kinematic regime, which supports the validity of QCD factorization for open charm production in diffractive DIS and γp.  相似文献

High-mass diffractive production of protons on the deuteron target is studied in the next-to-leading order (NLO) of the perturbative QCD in the BFKL approach. The non-trivial part of the NLO contributions coming from the triple interactions of the exchanged reggeons is considered. Based on the generalized vector meson dominance model in QCD, we study the photoproduction of vector meson Υ off the proton by use of the QCD-inspired model in which the contributions from quark–quark, gluon–gluon and quark–gluon interference term to observable are taken into consideration. Calculations are performed for total cross section σtot, differential cross section dσ/dt, ratio of the real part to imaginary part of forward scattering amplitude ρ and nuclear slop parameter function β. We analyze the individual contributions from quark gluon degrees of freedom and the QCD Odderon to the total cross section σtot (s), differential cross section dσ/dt, ratio of the real part to imaginary part of the forward scattering amplitude ρ, and nuclear slop parameter function β. The mediators of interactions between projectiles (the quark and antiquark pair fluctuated from the real photon) and the proton target (three quark system) are the tensor Glueball and Odderon instead of using the usual Pomeron exchange. The theoretical predictions for σtot(s) are consistent with the experimental data within error bars of the data. The data for dσ/dt, β and ρ are urgently needed. The gluon–gluon interaction makes a significant contribution to the observables while the Odderon contribution is negligibly small. Therefore, we may conclude that it is impossible to find the QCD Odderon in the γ+p→Υ+p process as suggested before.  相似文献

Some recent data at the ISR and SPS colliders are discussed in terms of a multi-pomeron exchange model formulated in the dual parton framework. Charged particle rapidity distributions, energy dependence of the central plateau, ratio of particle densities in proton-proton and antiproton-proton scattering and non-diffractive multiplicities are successfully accounted for in the model.  相似文献

The theory of diffractive interaction between loosely bound nuclei featuring two charged clusters and nuclei is developed with allowance for Coulomb interaction. The differential cross sections for the scattering of 6Li, 7Be, and 8B nuclei on 12C nuclei are calculated, and the results of these calculations are compared with data from recent experiments.  相似文献
