A new mechanism to introduce the mass of U(1) gauge field in supcrsymmctric U(1) gauge theory is discussed. The modelhas the strict local U(1) gauge symmetry and supersymmetry.Because we introduce two vector superfields simultaneously, the model contains a massive U(1) gauge field as well as a massless U(1) gauge field.  相似文献

We present the formulation of linearized SU(2) supergravity and U(2) conformal supergravity in terms of unconstrained N = 2 superfields: the gauge superfield, compensating superfields, gauge transformations, supertensors, actions and covariant derivatives.  相似文献

The new superspace of Wess and Zumino is generalized to the unconstrainedN-extendedD-dimensional case, it amounts actually to a reparametrization of the old superspace. Recurrence relations for the transformation law and for the covariant derivatives of the superfields defined in the new superspace are obtained. The definition of the component fields as local Lorentz covariant fields has the consequence that the gauge covariant expressions obtained for the vielbein and the connection of the new superspace don't contain the terms dropped out in the Wess-Zumino gauge of supergravity.  相似文献

By considering an arbitrary globally supersymmetric abelian gauge theory, the most general shifts on the matter and gauge superfields are performed, the superpropagators are derived and employed for discussing the structure of the terms generated into the effective action.  相似文献

A formulation of gauge theories with an extended supersymmetry for N = 2 is given in terms of superfields. The Lagrangian is expressed in terms of superfields and component fields as well.  相似文献

A super-self-duality constraint can be imposed on the curvature two-form in supersymmetric Yang-Mills theories formulated in euclidean superspace. If left covariantly chiral superfields are coupled to such a background, part of this space of superfields is annihilated by a superspace operator constructed from the quadratic part of the action. These are analogous to the zero modes of the Dirac equation which occur in the presence of a multi-instanton. Using the supersymmetric version of the ADHM formalism, this space of left covariantly chiral “zero mode” superfields is constructed in the fundamental representation of an SU(n) gauge group. It is shown to be spanned by a set of k superfields, where k is the instanton number of the bosonic component of the Yang-Mills background.  相似文献

In euclidean supersymmetric theories of chiral superfields and vector superfields coupled to a super-self-dual Yang-Mills background, we define Green functions for the Laplace-type differential operators which are obtained from the quadratic part of the action. These Green functions are expressed in terms of the Green function on the space of right chiral superfields, and an explicit expression for the right chiral Green function in the fundamental representation of an SU(n) gauge group is presented using the supersymmetric version of the ADHM formalism. The superfield kernels associated with the Laplace-type operators are used to obtain the one-loop quantum corrections to the super-self-dual Yang-Mills action, and also to provide a superfield version of the super-index theorems for the components of chiral superfields in a self-dual background.  相似文献

The supersymmetric non-abelian chiral anomaly is computed in a theory of chiral scalar superfields coupled to external gauge superfields, both in a vector-current conserving scheme and in a left-right symmetric scheme. The corresponding supersymmetric Wess-Zumino term is discussed; in particular we give an explicit expression for the anomalous bosonic term.  相似文献

The component models of N = 2 and N = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theories of Sohnius, Stelle and West are reformulated in terms of N = 1 superfields. The non-supersymmetric constraints are supersymmetrized generalizing the linear multiplet in the presence of the non-abelian gauge superfield and (in the N = 4 case) a doublet of chiral superfields. The extended supersymmetry transformations preserving constraints are explicitly given in terms of N = 1 superfields. We are able to introduce the constraints back into the lagrangian using superfield Lagrange multipliers. The on-shell equivalence of this formulation with the formulation of Fayet with one (for N = 2) and three (for N = 4) chiral superfields is shown. The abelian N = 2 model is worked out to show the connection between full superspace treatment and the N = 1 superfield formulation.  相似文献

We propose a general mechanism for stabilizing the dilaton against runaway to weak coupling. The method is based on features of the effective superpotential which arise for supersymmetric gauge theories which are not asymptotically free. Consideration of the 2PI effective action for bilinear operators of matter and gauge superfields allows one to overcome the obstacles to constructing a nonvanishing superpotential.  相似文献

Superprojectors
We present a simple algorithm for constructing the N-extended superfield projection operators for irreducible representations of supersymmetry, and explicitly perform all simplifications due to spinor derivative algebra. The method is based on covariant expansion of a general superfield in terms of chiral superfields, and requires no knowledge of Casimir operators. We list these superprojectors for various N = 1, 2, and 4 superfields, and apply our results to quantized the linearized N = 2 vector multiplet in a supersymmetric gauge.  相似文献

We obtain a superspace lagrangian density which reproduces the Wess formulation of supersymmetric gauge theories. The present approach, which is a first-order formalism, gives rise to a lagrangian density polynomial in the Yang-Mills and auxiliary superfields and appears to be stable under quantization and renormalization.  相似文献

Local Lorentz and gauge anomalies in the sigma model describing the propagation of the heterotic string in an arbitrary background field are discussed in the superspace formulation. An expression for these anomalies is written down in terms of the superfields, and is shown to cancel against an anomalous variation of the antisymmetric tensor field. World-sheet supersymmetry is manifest throughout this analysis.  相似文献

We derive the nilpotent (anti-) BRST symmetry transformations for the Dirac (matter) fields of an interacting four (3+1)-dimensional 1-form non-Abelian gauge theory by applying the theoretical arsenal of augmented superfield formalism where (i) the horizontality condition, and (ii) the equality of a gauge invariant quantity, on the six (4,2)-dimensional supermanifold, are exploited together. The above supermanifold is parameterized by four bosonic spacetime coordinates xμ (with μ=0,1,2,3) and a couple of Grassmannian variables θ and θ̄. The on-shell nilpotent BRST symmetry transformations for all the fields of the theory are derived by considering the chiral superfields on the five (4,1)-dimensional super sub-manifold and the off-shell nilpotent symmetry transformations emerge from the consideration of the general superfields on the full six (4,2)-dimensional supermanifold. Geometrical interpretations for all the above nilpotent symmetry transformations are also discussed within the framework of augmented superfield formalism.  相似文献

Using the off-shell two-component formulation of N = 2 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory and the gauge covariantized supersymmetry transformations for the fields, the non-abelian supercurrent and anomaly multiplets are developed and the transformation rules for their components are obtained. The superfields in N = 2 superspace whose components are the non-abelian supercurrent and anomaly multiplets are written down.  相似文献

In this paper, by using the factorization equation of the N = 2 supersymmetric gauge theory, we study N = 1 theory in Argyres-Douglas points. We suppose that all monopoles become massive. We derive general Picard-Fuchs equations for glueball superfields. These equations are hypergeometric equations and have regular singular points corresponding to Argyres-Douglas points. Furthermore, we obtain the solution of these differential equations.  相似文献

Superfield Feynman rules are derived for a general case where global supersymmetry is spontaneously broken by F-terms. The complete superspace dependence of the superpropagators is factored out and they are employed to discuss the corrections to the effective action and the non-renormalisation theorems. Their coupling to external gauge superfields is also contemplated and finite matter contributions to the gaugino mass and the Fayet-Iliopoulos term are considered.  相似文献

A supersymmetric and non-linearly realized internally symmetric action is constructed from the super Kähler potential of Goldstone scalar superfields. Noether's theorem in superspace is derived and the associated superfield of currents defined. The currents are used to derive a super Dashen formula relating the (quasi) Goldstone masses and decay constants to the symmetry breaking part of the theory and to supersymmetrically gauge the invariant subgroup as well as the full group.  相似文献

The mass spectrum and gauge-coupling renormalisation of a phenomenologically promising three-generation model is analysed in detail. Gauge-singlet superfields play an important role in overcoming a major problem which is generic to a large class of models. Throughout a large region of parameter space, a naturally light Higgs doublet is compatible with perturbative gauge couplings, unification and the experimental value of sin2θw.  相似文献
