The propagation and reflection characteristics of an ion acoustic soliton are studied in an inhomogeneous plasma through two coupled equations of the KdV family, and the contribution of external static magnetic field is evaluated. The incident and reflected solitons behave oppositely with the angle ψ   between the directions of magnetic field and the wave propagation. Two cases of ωpi>Ωiωpi>Ωi and ωpi<Ωiωpi<Ωi are examined, where ωpiωpi is the ion plasma frequency and ΩiΩi is the ion gyrofrequency. It is found that the soliton gets reflected more strongly when the condition ωpi>Ωiωpi>Ωi is achieved in the plasma. The effect of magnetic field is found to be more pronounced on the reflected soliton.  相似文献

EPR transient nutation spectroscopy is used to measure the effective field (Rabi frequency) for multiphoton transitions in a two-level spin system bichromatically driven by a transverse microwave (MW) field and a longitudinal radio-frequency (RF) field. The behavior of the effective field amplitude is examined in the case of a relatively strong MW field, when the derivation of the effective Hamiltonian cannot be reduced to first-order perturbation theory in ω1rf1 is the microwave Rabi frequency, ωrf is the RF frequency). Experimental results are consistently interpreted by taking into account the contributions of second and third order in ω1rf evaluated by Krylov-Bogolyubov-Mitropolsky averaging. In the case of inhomogeneously broadened EPR line, the third-order correction modifies the nutation frequency, while the second-order correction gives rise to a change in the nutation amplitude due to a Bloch-Siegert shift.  相似文献

The magnetoresistance of two-dimensional electron systems irradiated by microwave radiation is calculated. It exhibits oscillatory features at fractional values of the ratio ω/ωc of the circular frequency of microwave radiation to the cyclotron frequency. The calculation explains existing experimental data by nonequilibrium population of electron states that appears due to one-photon processes and predicts ω/ωc values near which the basic features in magnetoresistance are expected. In the framework of the mechanism under consideration, the fractional features can be observed only in the crossover from strongly overlapping to separate Landau levels and only at radiation frequencies below the threshold frequencies depending on a fractional value.  相似文献

In the frame work of TREDER 's gravitational theory we consider two classes of field equations which are derivable from two classes of LAGRANGE ian densities Ω(1)1, ω2), Ω(2)(s?1, s?2). ω1, ω2; s?1, s?2 are parameters. Ω(2)1, ω2) gives us field equations which are up to the post-NEWTON ian approximation in the sense of NORDTVEDT , THORNE and WILL equivalent to the field equations given by BRANS and DICKE . For ω2 = ?1 ?2ω1 field equations follow from Ω(1)1, ?1 ?2ω1) which are in the above mentioned sense of post-NEWTON ian approximation equivalent to EINSTEIN 's equations. The field equations following from Ω(1)1, ω2) have a cosmological model with the well known cosmological singularities for T → ± ∞ in case that ω1/(1 +3ω12) ? γ > 0. For ω1/(1 +3ω12) ≤ 0 cosmological models with no cosmological singularities exist. From Ω(2)(s?1, s?2) we obtain field equations which at the best give us perihelion rotation 7% above EINSTEIN 's value and light deflection 7% below the corresponding EINSTEIN 's value. But in that case we are able to show the existence of a cosmological model without any cosmological singularity.  相似文献

The computations of Flahive and Quinn1 of the dispersion curves of low frequency degenerate surface (DS) modes propagating along the magnetic field in an electron-hole plasma are extended to higher values of the wavenumber. We find that beyond a certain value of the wavenumber the DS mode re-enters the allowed region of surface wave propagation and tends to an asymptotic frequency ωR (<ωLH). These low frequency resonances of an electron-hole plasma are discussed with reference to the experimental observations.  相似文献

The dispersion characteristics of a plasma in a pump field ??(t) = ?? sub ω0t + ??1 sin ω1t are considered. Firstly we assume, that the second wave is weak (|??1| ? |??0|) and the frequency ω1 is near sω01 = sω0 + Ω,Ω ? ω0). We obtain the dispersion equation, describing the parametric coupling of the waves driven by the strong field ??0 sin ω0t under the resonance condition ω0 ≈ ωLe/P and derive the expressions for the growth rates (ωLe is the electron LANGMUIR frequency; s, p are integers). In the second part it is shown, that a strong field ??1 with a frequency ω1 much larger than ω LeLe ≈ pω0) stabilizes the plasma; the growth rates are reduced and the frequency region of the parametric instability is contracted.  相似文献

The dynamics of multiphoton transitions in a two-level spin system excited by transverse microwave and longitudinal RF fields with the frequencies ωmw and ωrf, respectively, is analyzed. The effective time-independent Hamiltonian describing the “dressed” spin states of the “spin + bichromatic field” system is obtained by using the Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolsky averaging method. The direct detection of the time behavior of the spin system by the method of nonstationary nutations makes it possible to identify the multiphoton transitions for resonances ω0 = ωmw + rωrf0 is the central frequency of the EPR line, r = 1, 2), to measure the amplitudes of the effective fields of these transitions, and to determine the features generated by the inhomogeneous broadening of the EPR line. It is shown that the Bloch-Siegert shifts for multiphoton resonances at the inhomogeneous broadening of spectral lines reduce only the nutation amplitude but do not change their frequencies.  相似文献

The dynamics of a two-level spin system dressed by bichromatic radiation is studied under the conditions of double resonance when the frequency of one (microwave) field is equal to the Larmor frequency of the spin system and the frequency of the other (radio-frequency) field ωrf is close to the Rabi frequency ω1 in a microwave field. It is shown theoretically that Rabi oscillations between dressed-spin states with the frequency ? are accompanied by higher-frequency oscillations at frequencies nωrf and nωrf ± ?, where n = 1, 2,.... The most intense among these are the signals corresponding to n = 1. The counter-rotating (antiresonance) components of the RF field give rise to a shift of the dressed-state energy, i.e., to a frequency shift similar to the Bloch-Siegert shift. In particular, this shift is manifested as the dependence of the Rabi-oscillation frequency ? on the sign of the detuning ω1 ? ωrf from resonance. In the case of double resonance, the oscillation amplitude is asymmetric; i.e., the amplitude at the sum frequency ωrf + ? increases, while the amplitude at the difference frequency ωrf ? ? decreases. The predicted effects are confirmed by observations of the nutation signals of the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) of E1 centers in quartz and should be taken into account to realize qubits with a low Rabi frequency in solids.  相似文献

Two qualitatively different types of resonant destabilization of phonon stimulated emission (SE) are discovered in experiments where a 9-GHz multimode ruby laser is periodically modulated (the electromagnetic pump frequency is 23 GHz). In the case of deep pump modulation at low modulation frequencies (ω=70–200 Hz, where ωm is the modulation frequency), a fast random alternation of microwave phonon SE modes is observed. This destabilization range corresponds to relaxation resonance in optical lasers. Outside the relaxation resonance range (at ωm≈10 Hz), the other type of resonant destabilization of stationary phonon SE is observed. This destabilization shows up as very slow regular self-detunings of the microwave SE spectra. The period of such self-organized motions depends significantly on ωm and changes by several orders of magnitude when ωm varies within several percent. The second type of SE resonant destabilization is explained in terms of antiphase energy exchange between modes in a modulated phaser.  相似文献

The time-resolved ADMR (absorption-detected magnetic resonance) spectrum of the polymethylene linked biradical generated in the photolysis of α-(xanthene-2-carbonyloxy)-ω-(xanthene-2-carbonyloxy) dodecane is observed at various microwave power. When the lower microwave power is low, the ADMR spectrum is totally negative (the absorbance of xanthyl radical decreases by the microwave irradiation) and is interpreted in terms of the hyperfine structure of the terminal radicals. In contrast with this, the ADMR spectrum obtained at high microwave field consists of two components: central component and wing component. The central component is positive and is interpreted in terms of the deceleration of the intersystem crossing by microwave, which is known as the spin locking. The wing component is negative and the linewidth is much larger than that of the central one. It is ascribed to the transitions from |T+1> and |T?1> states to singlet state having a slight |T0> character. It is proposed that the width of the time resolved spectrum is due to the fluctuation of the exchange integral (modulated exchange integral) by the motion of the polymethylene chain. The time dependence of the central and wing components and the conditions for observation of them are discussed.  相似文献

Spectral and time-resolved investigations of the back-scattered light from aluminium laser-produced plasmas at frequencies ωL and 2ωL are performed. Good correlation between maxima of the scattered light at ωL and minima at 2ωL was discovered. This correlation has been predicted by the theory. These experiments show that the spectrum width and intensity of the second harmonic essentially depend on the velocity of the expanding plasma.  相似文献

This paper presents an investigation of the enhancement of self focusing of high frequency EM waves in a compensated degenerate magnetoactive solid state plasma. The nonlinearity in the dielectric constant responsible for self focusing arises due to nonuniform heating and consequent redistribution Of carriers. A rigorous kinetic treatment valid beyond the perturbation limit has been presented assuming the carrier relaxation time to be energy dependent. The results show that the self-focusing of extraordinary waves is enhanced while that of ordinary waves is reduced with ωcω increasing. However the focusing of extraordinary waves is not possible when ωc > ω. The effect of degeneracy is also found to enhance the self-focusing of the waves while that of the enhanced absorption is to suppress the self-focusing process.  相似文献

Stationary solutions of the coupled equations for high frequency transverse waves in a plasma and for the low frequency ion motion (Te?Ti) are investigated numerically. The use of the nonlinear hydrodynamic equations instead of the linear wave equation for ion acoustic waves allows to look for solutions without restrictions of the Mach number M = V/cs (V group velocity, cs ion acoustic velocity) and the ratio ω/ωpe (ω frequency of the HF-field, ωpe electron plasma frequency at the undisturbed region). In particular, supersonic soliton-like solutions with n/no > 1 were found. Dispersion effects due to charge separation are not included.  相似文献

The first observation of interference effects between two sharp resonant contributions to the third-order nonlinear susceptibility χ(3)3012) is reported. Using two tunable near ir frequencies, ω01 and ω2, the was seen in crystalline CuCl when 2ω1 and ω12 were close to the sharp Z3 exciton at 3.21 eV and the 210 cm-1 Raman line, respectively. Three different tunable visible frequencies were used to observe similar interference effects in a benzene-cyclohexane mixture when ω02 and ω12 were close to the 992 cm-1 Raman line of benzene and the 801 cm-1 Raman line of cyclohexane, respectively.  相似文献

A quantum theory of free carrier absorption in nondegenerate semiconductors and in strong magnetic fields which was previously developed to treat the case when acoustic phonon scattering dominates the free carrier absorption process [1] is extended to treat the case when nonpolar optical scattering is important. When the electromagnetic radiation field is polarized parallel to the direction of the applied magnetic field, results are obtained which are similar to those when acoustic phonon scattering is dominant. The free carrier absorption is an oscillatory function of the magnetic field which on the average increases in magnitude with the magnetic field. However, more structure in the free carrier absorption occurs when nonpolar optical phonon scattering dominates. This is due to the fact that there are two periods in the oscillatory magnetic field dependence associated with the emission or the absorption of optical phonons during the intraband transitions. When the cyclotron frequency exceeds the sum of the photon and optical phonon frequencies, i.e. ωc > θ + ωo, the free carrier absorption is predicted to increase linearly with magnetic field when ?ωc? kBT. The magnetic field dependence of the free carrier absorption can be explained in terms of phonon-assisted transitions between the various Landau levels in a band involving the emission and absorption of optical phonons.  相似文献

We have investigated the effect on the tunneling characteristics of adding weight to the electron phonon spectral density α2((ω)F(ω) at an energy ωE well above its cut off ωD. This not only adds structure in the current (I) as a function of voltage (V) at ωE but more importantly enhances the structure below ωD although no addition to the strength of the spectral density is made in that region.  相似文献
