We measured the isomeric yield ratios for the photonuclear reactions of 93Nb(??,4n)89m,gNb and natMo(??,xnp)95m,gNb by using the activation method. The high-purity 93Nb and natMo metallic foils in disc shape were irradiated with uncollimated bremsstrahlung beams of 50-, 60-, and 70-MeV generated from an electron linear accelerator in Pohang Accelerator Laboratory. The induced activities in the irradiated foils were measured by the high-resolution ??-ray spectrometry with a calibrated high-purity Germanium (HPGe) detector coupled to a PC-based 4?K multichannel analyzer. The reaction 93Nb(??,4n)89m,gNb was studied for the first time which has no comparable literature data. The result of 95m,gNb isomeric pair was measured based on (??,p), (??,np), and (??,2np) reactions which is the first measurement at the intermediate energy region of 50?C70-MeV with a natMo target.  相似文献

The independent isomeric yield ratios of 95m,gNb from the natMo(γ, pxn) reactions with bremsstrahlung end-point energies of 45, 50, 55, 60, and 70 MeV were determined by an activation and an off-line γ-ray spectrometric technique at the Pohang accelerator laboratory (PAL), Korea. The isomeric yield ratios of 95m,gNb from the natZr(p, xn) reactions were also determined in eight different proton energies within 19.4–44.7 MeV by a stacked-foil activation and an off-line γ-ray spectrometric technique using the MC-50 cyclotron of Korea Institute of Radiological and Medical Sciences (KIRAMS), Korea. The measured isomeric yield ratios of 95m,gNb from the present work and the literature data in the natMo(γ, pxn) and natZr(p, xn) reactions were compared with the similar literature data in the natMo(p, αxn) reactions. It was found that the isomeric yield ratio of 95m,gNb increases with projectile energy, which indicate the effect of excitation energy. However, at the same excitation energy, the isomeric yield ratios of 95m,gNb in the natZr(p, xn) and natMo(p, αxn) reactions are higher than those in the natMo(γ, pxn) reaction, which indicates the role of input angular momentum. The isomeric yield ratios of 95m,gNb in the natMo(γ, pxn), natZr(p, xn), and natMo(p, αxn) reactions were also calculated using computer code TALYS 1.4. The calculated isomeric yield ratios of 95m,gNb from three reactions increase with excitation energy. However, in all the three reactions, the calculated values are significantly higher than the experimental data.  相似文献

The use of the 99Mo99mTc generator in nuclear medicine is well established world wide. The production of the 99Mo (T1/2 = 66 h) parent as a fission product of 235U is largely based on the use of reactor technology. From the early 1990's accelerator based production methods to provide either direct produced 99mTc or the parent 99Mo, were studied and suggested as potential alternatives to the reactor based production of 99Mo. A possible pathway for the charged particle production of 99mTc and 99Mo is irradiation of molybdenum metal with protons via the reaction 100Mo(p,2n)99mTc and 100Mo(p,pn)99Mo, respectively. The earlier published excitation functions show large differences in their maximum that result in large differences in the calculated yields. We therefore decided to study the excitation function for these proton-induced reactions. In this work the newly measured excitation functions as well as an evaluation of earlier measured data and a discussion of the observed disagreements are presented.  相似文献

Recent disruptions in the molybdenum-technetium generator supply chain prompted a review of non-reactor based production methods for both 99Mo and 99mTc. Small medical cyclotrons (E p ~ 16–24 MeV) are capable of producing Curie quantities of 99mTc from isotopically enriched 100Mo using the 100Mo(p,2n)99mTc reaction. Unlike most other metallic target materials for routine production of medical radioisotopes, molybdenum cannot be deposited by reductive electroplating from aqueous salt solutions. To overcome this issue, we developed a new process for solid molybdenum targets based on the electrophoretic deposition of fine 100Mo powder onto a tantalum plate, followed by high temperature sintering. The targets obtained were mechanically robust and thermally stable when irradiated with protons at high power density.  相似文献

The possible effects of several protecting procedures on the quality of99mTc eluates were investigated. The content of99Mo in the eluates (99Mo breakthrough) was expressed in (%) with respect to the total adsorbed99Mo radioactivity and in () i.e. as the ratio of99Mo and99mTc radioactivities in each particular eluate. The radiochemical purity was expressed in (%) of99mTc(VII) in the eluates. The content of Al3+ and Cu2+ as chemical impurities was also determined.  相似文献

The independent isomeric-yield ratios of 89m,gNb for the 93Nb(γ, 4n) 89m,gNb reaction with bremsstrahlung energies of 45-, 50-, 55-, 60-, and 70-MeV were measured by the activation and the off-line γ-ray spectrometric technique at 100 MeV electron linac of the Pohang accelerator laboratory. The isomeric-yield ratios of 89m,gNb for the natZr(p, xn) 89m,gNb and the 89Y(α, 4n) 89m,gNb reactions were measured by using a stacked-foil activation technique with the proton energies of 19–45 MeV and alpha energies of 38.9-, 40.5-, and 42.5-MeV at the MC-50 cyclotron of Korea Institute of Radiological and Medical Sciences. The measured isomeric-yield ratio of 89m,gNb from the 93Nb(γ, 4n), natZr(p, xn), and 89Y(α, 4n) reactions were compared with the similar literature data in the 89Y(3He, 3n) reaction. It was found that the isomeric yield ratio of 89m,gNb increases with projectile energy, which indicate the effect of excitation energy. However, for the similar compound nucleus with the same excitation energy, the isomeric-yield ratios of 89m,gNb in the 89Y(α, 4n) and 89Y(3He, 3n) reactions are higher than those in the 93Nb(γ, 4n) and natZr(p, xn) reactions, which indicates the role of input angular momentum. The isomeric-yield ratios of 89m,gNb in the 93Nb(γ, 4n), natZr(p, xn), 89Y(α, 4n), and 89Y(3He, 3n) reactions were also calculated theoretically using computer code TALYS 1.4. The theoretical isomeric-yield ratios of 89m,gNb from four reactions increase with excitation energy. However, the theoretical value are significantly higher than the experimental data in the 93Nb(γ, 4n) and natZr(p, xn) reactions but slightly lower or comparable in the 89Y(α, 4n) rand 89Y(3He, 3n) reactions.  相似文献

Relatively longer liver technetium tracers such as95mTc (61 d) are useful for the development, evaluation and comparison of new technetium complexes for eventual development of99mTc radiopharmaceuticals. The feasibility of producing96Tc (4.35 d) and95mTc (61 d) was studied by the alpha bombardment of pure Nb targets (93Nb-100%).96Tc was obtained in a yield of 30 Ci/Ah using 16 MeV alphas, but it contained significant activity of95Tc (20 h) Relatively pure96Tc and95mTc was produced in yields of 18 Ci/Ah and about 1 Ci/Ah respectively with alphas of suitable energy and after allowing for suitable cooling periods after the end of bombardment (EOB).  相似文献

The non-destructive determination of nitrogen in some refractory metals was studied by activation analysis with the 14N(p, n)14O reaction. The samples were irradiated with 12-MeV protons from a cyclotron. The proton beam intensity was normalized by means of a copper flux monitor. After chemical etching, the 14O activity (Eγ = 2313 keV, T12 = 70.5 s) of the sample was measured by means of a Ge(Li) or NaI(Tl) detector. Standardization was carried out by the “average cross-section” method with nylon 6 as a nitrogen standard. The method gives a sensitivity of 0.4–30 μg g?1 for analysis of Ta, W, Nb, and Ti, and 2000–4000 μg g?1 for Zr, Ni and Mo.  相似文献

The high-specific activity 99Mo accelerator-based production, via the (α,n) reaction on 96Zr-enriched target, has been investigated in the present work. The excitation function measurement has been performed in the energy range 8–34 MeV at the ARRONAX facility, using the well-known stacked foils technique on natural zirconium as target. A general good agreement in the cross section trend has been observed, once compared to former measurements. A different (i.e. higher) peak value and a shift of about 2 MeV towards larger energies have however been found. Assuming a fully enriched 96Zr target irradiated by an α-beam at suitable energy (E = 25 MeV), the 99Mo production yield has thus been estimated. At last the alternative production routes, based on the 96Zr(α,n)99Mo and 100Mo(p,x)99Mo/99mTc reactions, are compared.  相似文献

Arsenic is determined in tantalum and tungsten matrices via 75As(p, n)75Se and 75As(d, 2n)75Se reactions. Two ion-exchange procedures, with Dowex-1 columns, are described for the separation of the indicator radionuclides. Data on thick target yields for the 75As(p, n)75Se reaction are given. With 13-MeV proton or 15-MeV deuteron irradiation for 2 h at a current of 5 μA, the detection limit for arsenic is at the 10 μg kg-1 level.  相似文献

Cadmium is determined by activation analysis with fast neutrons, obtained by irradiation of a thick beryllium target with 14.5-MeV deutrons. Cadmium-111m, formed via the 112Cd(n, 2n)111mCd and 111Cd(n, n′)111mCd reactions, is separated by liquid—liquid extraction with zinc dithyldithiocarbamate in chloroform and measured with a Ge(Li) γ-spectrometer. For low concentrations, cadmium is precipitated as cadmium ammonium phosphate after the extraction. NBS and BCR reference materials were analyzed: for concentrations between 3 and 500 μg g?1, the relative standard deviation ranges from 5 to 3% The results obtained for sewage sludge are compared with those obtained by reactor neutron activation analysis.  相似文献

A95mTc tracer with an excellent quality was prepared by a simple sublimation method after α-bombardment of niobium metal. Technetium-95m produced by the93Nb(α,2n)95mTc reaction was separated from the niobium targets in a quartz tube by heating at 1100°C in an oxygen gas flow. Technetium-95m sublimed as an oxide was deposited on the inner wall of the quartz tube outside an electric furnace, and then collected as a pertechnetate solution by washing with water. The ICP-MS analysis of the95mTc solution revealed its excellent quality, compared to a95mTc solution prepared from the same targets through a wet chemical separation method and a commercial95mTc solution. With this tracer, the precision of ICP-MS analysis of99Tc in environmental samples are highly improved.  相似文献

The feasibility of using tetragonal nano-zirconia (t-ZrO2) as an effective sorbent for developing a 99Mo/99mTc chromatographic generator was demonstrated. The structural characteristics of the sorbent matrix were investigated by different analytical techniques such as XRD, BET surface area analysis, FT-IR, TEM etc. The material synthesized was nanocrystalline, in tetragonal phase with an average particle size of ~7 nm and a large surface area of 340 m2 g?1. The equilibrium sorption capacity of t-ZrO2 is >250 mg Mo g?1. The present study indicates that 99Mo is both strongly and selectively retained by t-ZrO2 at acidic pH and 99mTc could be readily eluted from it, using 0.9% NaCl solution. A 9.25 GBq (250 mCi) t-ZrO2 based chromatographic 99Mo/99mTc generator was developed and its performance was repeatedly evaluated for 10 days. 99mTc could be eluted with >85% yield having acceptable radionuclidic, radiochemical and chemical purity for clinical applications. The compatibility of the product in the preparation of 99mTc labeled formulations such as 99mTc-EC and 99mTc-DMSA was evaluated and found to be satisfactory.  相似文献

The isomeric yield ratios for the natFe(γ,xn1p)52m,gMn reactions have been measured by the activation and the γ-ray spectroscopic methods at 50-, 60-, 70-MeV, and 2.5-GeV bremsstrahlung energies. The high purity natural iron foils in disc shape were irradiated with uncollimated bremsstrahlung beams of the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory. The induced activities in the irradiated foils were measured by the high-resolution γ-ray spectrometry with a calibrated high-purity Germanium (HPGe) detector. In order to improve the accuracy of the experimental results the necessary corrections were made in the gamma activity measurements and data analysis. The obtained isomeric yield ratios for the natFe(γ,xn1p)52m,gMn reactions at 50-, 60-, 70-MeV, and 2.5-GeV bremsstrahlung energies are 0.27 ± 0.03, 0.33 ± 0.04, 0.34 ± 0.04, and 1.25 ± 0.15, respectively. The present results at 50-, 60-MeV, and 2.5-GeV bremsstrahlung energies are the first measurements. We found that the isomeric yield ratio of the natFe(γ,xn1p)52m,gMn reaction depends on the incident bremsstrahlung energy and the mass difference between the product and the target nucleus when we compared the present results with other experimental data at different energies.  相似文献

The radionuclide99mTc is widely used in nuclear medical diagnostics. Radiopharmaceuticals containing coordination compounds labeled with99mTc4+ or99mTc5+ can be rapidly prepared from pertechnetate eluted from a99Mo/99mTc generator. For the optimization of the imaging agent it is essential to determine the exact chemical structure of the Tc complex. This can be achieved by synthesizing macroscopic amounts of the analogous long-lived99gTc compound and by its analysis by appropriate spectroscopy methods. We have successfully synthesized and characterized new technetium complexes with amino acids and also with ligands containing nitrogen, oxygen and sulfur atoms.  相似文献

Performance study of a computer controlled automated closed cyclic module for the separation and recovery of 99mTc from low specific activity (n, γ) 99Mo using methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) solvent extraction technique named 99Mo/99mTc-TCM-AUTOSOLEX (Technetium automated solvent extraction) Generator is described. The entire system is automated and controlled by a user-friendly PC based graphical user interface that actually supervises process via an embedded system based electronic controller. The average yield of separation of 99mTc was above 85 % and 99Mo breakthrough in 99mTc pertechnetate was <0.002 %. The sodium pertechnetate obtained was a clear solution having pH 6–7, Radiochemical (RC). Purity >99 %, MEK content <0.1 % (v/v), Al and Mo content <10 µg/ml. R. C. Purity of 99mTc-radiopharmaceuticals studied was not less than 96 %. Bio-Quality control studies confirm that sodium pertechnetate obtained was sterile and pyrogen free. Imaging studies in animals and humans with limited radiopharmaceuticals show that the quality of 99mTc-pertechenate obtained in the present module was good enough to do clinical study.  相似文献

A novel electrochemical process to avail clinical grade 99mTc from (n,γ)99Mo has been demonstrated. The electrochemical parameters were optimized to maximize the 99mTc yield with minimal 99Mo contamination. 99Mo/99mTc generators containing up to 29.6 GBq (800 mCi) 99Mo were developed and their performance were extensively evaluated for 10 days without changing the operating conditions. Very high radioactive concentration of 99mTcO4 of acceptable quality, commensurate with hospital radiopharmacy requirements could be availed from the system with >90% yield. The compatibility of the product for the formulation of 99mTc labeled radiopharmaceuticals such as 99mTc-DMSA and 99mTc-EC was found to be satisfactory in terms of high labeling yields. The proposed route represents an important step for enhancing the scope of accessing clinical grade 99mTc from low specific activity (n, γ)99Mo.  相似文献

The isomeric yield ratios for the natAg(γ,xn)104m,g,106m,gAg reactions with the end-point bremsstrahlung energies of 45- and 55-MeV have been determined by the off-line γ-ray spectrometric technique using 100 MeV electron linac at Pohang accelerator laboratory, Korea. The present data were compared with literature data in comparable compound nucleus from the natAg(γ,xn), natPd(p,xn), and 103Rh(α,xn) reactions to examine the effects of an excitation energy and an input angular momentum. It is observed that the isomeric yield ratios of 104,106Ag in natAg(γ,xn), natPd(p,xn) and 103Rh(α,xn) reactions increase with the end-point bremsstrahlung energy, proton and alpha energy, which indicate the role of excitation energy. It is also found that for the similar compound nucleus at same excitation energy, the isomeric yield ratio of 104m,gAg is higher in the natPd(p,xn) and 103Rh(α,xn) reactions than those in natAg(γ,xn) reaction, which indicate the effect of an input angular momentum.  相似文献
