Thermal behaviour of natural vermiculite (Santa Olalla, Huelva, Spain) was investigated by TG, DTA, emanation thermal analysis (ETA) and high temperature XRD on heating in the temperature range from 30 to 1100°C before and after vibratory mill grinding. Microstructure changes of natural and ground vermiculite samples were characterized by using ETA under in situ conditions of heating. By comparing the ETA and XRD results it was demonstrated that a decrease of radon release rate measured by ETA characterized the decrease in the interlayer spacing of the vermiculite samples that followed the dehydration. Nitrated and chlorinated derivatives ofp-xylene-formaldehyde resin were prepared and the resin samples were characterised by IR and NMR spectra. The average molecular weight of the resin samples was determined by vapour pressure osmometry. Kinetic parameters were determined from differential thermal analysis and thermogravimetry using Chatterjee, Anderson-Freeman, Broido, Flynn and Wall, Reich and Kissinger methods.  相似文献

This research was aimed to investigate the role of clay on the combustion and kinetic behavior of crude oils in limestone matrix. For this purpose, simultaneous TG (thermogravimetry) and DTA (differential thermal analysis) experiments were performed at three different heating rates as 10–15 and 20°C min–1, respectively. A uniform trend of decreasing activation energies was observed with the addition of clay. It was concluded that clays surface area affects the values of Arrhenius constant, while it is the catalytic properties of clay, which lower the activation energies of all the reactions, involved in the combustion process.  相似文献

Boron nitride (BN) micro particles modified by silane coupling agent, γ‐aminopropyl triethoxy silane (KH550), are employed to prepare BN/epoxy resin (EP) thermal conductivity composites. The thermal conductivity coefficient of the composites with 60% mass fraction of modified BN is 1.052 W/mK, five times higher than that of native EP (0.202 W/mK). The mechanical properties of the composites are optimal with 10 wt% BN. The thermal decomposition temperature, dielectric constant, and dielectric loss increase with the addition of BN. For a given BN loading, the surface modification of BN by KH550 exhibits a positive effect on the thermal conductivity and mechanical properties of the BN/EP composites. From conductometric and UV-VIS spectrophotometric studies of the reaction between 18-crown-6 (L) and dichloropicric acid (HA) in dry and water saturated 1,2-dichloroethane, it has been concluded that formation of a 1:1 homoconjugate HA 2 accompanies the simple protonation of L, viz, L+HALH+A and L+2HALH+HA 2 . The electrolytes LH+A and LH+HA 2 are extensively, or practically completely dissociated in both solvents under the experimental conditions. The specie LH+A appears to be a contact ion pair in DCE. The stability constant of HA 2 in the dry solvent, 5.7×103 mol–1-cm3, is some 102.4 times that in propylene carbonate reflecting the difference in H-bond accepting capacity of the two solvents. Hydration of HA, A and HA 2 in wet dichloroethane is negligible or slight. As expected, LH+ is rather strongly hydrated, the ratio of the hydration constants of LH+ and L being about 1×101.  相似文献

The decomposition behaviour of dolomite samples has been carried out by simultaneous DTA-TG experiments. Dolomite samples could be classified broadly into two categories as regular and iron-bearing dolomites based on DTA decomposition temperatures. The mass% FeO of all the dolomite samples was identified by DTA and the results are confirmed by atomic absorption spectrophotometer experiments. A new material belongs to the family of polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes, the 1-(3-glycidyl) propoxy-3,5,7,9,11,13,15-isobutylpentacyclo-[9.5.1.1(3,9).1(5,15).1(7,13)]octasiloxane (glycidylisobutyl-POSS) is characterized by differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis and atomic force microscopy. Epoxy systems based on diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) cured with the diamines, 4,4'-diamine-diphenylmethane (DDM) and 1,4-phenylenediamine (pPDA), were kinetically studied by differential scanning calorimetry in isothermal and dynamic modes. The isothermal and non-isothermal degradation of a typical styrenated phthalic acid-maleic acid-propylene glycol polyester were measured. Non-isothermal and isothermal kinetic analyses were performed on the various degradation steps observed. The values of the non-isothermal and the isothermal kinetic parameters are in good agreement.  相似文献

This paper describes the conformational analysis of 1,2-dichloroethane adsorbed into three different metal-organic frameworks, MIL-53(Al), MIL-68(In), MIL-53-NH2(Al), by using FT-Raman spectroscopy in combination with powder XRD and TGA. For non-polar frameworks, the main guest-host interactions are van der Waal interactions between the CH bonds of 1,2-dichloroethane (DCE) and the π system of terephthalate ligands. The polar framework of MIL-53-NH2 is able to stabilize the gauche conformation of DCE at room temperature. The conformational enthalpy of each system was determined through variable temperature FT-Raman spectroscopy. Furthermore, the line-width of the Raman bands provides information regarding the molecular motion of the halocarbons at various temperatures inside the framework.  相似文献

Benzenesulfenamides with the formula R-S-N-(R)2 (R=C6H5 andR=NC4H8O, C7H7 and C6H11) and their chromium carbonyl complexes were studied by means of TG and mass spectrometric methods. The thermal behaviour of the compounds the stabilities of free sulfenamides are lower than those observed for the corresponding chromium carbonyl complexes. Combined thermogravimetry — mass spectrometry results suggest that the fragmentation mechanism of the carbonyl complexes involves cleavage of the Cr-S and Cr-CO bonds while that of sulfenamide depends mainly on the dissociation rates of the NR2 groups.This work was partially supported by the Departamento técnico de Investigation of the Universidad de Chile, Grant Q3280/9324.  相似文献

The thermal and photochemical ageing of epoxy resin was studied using photoacoustic-FTIR spectroscopy. This technique was satisfactory for both unfilled resin and glass fibre filled epoxy composite. The influence of the curing agent (anhydride or amine) was significant for ageing. The durability of anhydride-epoxy system was the best for both thermal and photoageing.  相似文献

Fly ash is the ash precipitated from the exhaust fumes of coal-fired power stations. It consists mainly of active silica and alumina, with large amounts of glass. The aim of this work was to study the pozzolanic activity of fly ash with lime by means of DTA as a function of the lime content and the curing time. The curves revealed that the rate of hydration, as indicated by the residual lime and hydrated compounds, increases with increasing lime content and curing time. A study has been made of the cationic electropolymerization of trans-anethole initiated by a direct electron transfer mechanism at a Pt anode in 1,2-dichloroethane solution with tetrabutylammonium perchlorate as supporting electrolyte. The electrochemical behaviour of the system has been preliminarily investigated by voltammetry at rotating and stationary Pt electrode and also by chronoamperometry. The results are consistent with an ECE oxidation process of anethole with formation first of a radical cation and finally of a dication. Polymerization experiments by electrolysis at the oxidation potential of the monomer have been also carried out both under continuous electrolysis and with short initial pulses of current. The results have been analysed and some kinetic parameters of the system have been evaluated.  相似文献

The cure behavior, thermal stability, and mechanical properties of diglycidylether of bisphenol A (DGEBA)/polysulfone (PSF) blends initiated by 1 wt % N‐benzylpyrazinium hexafluoroantimonate as a cationic latent catalyst were investigated. The DGEBA/PSF content was varied within 100/0–100/40 wt %. Latent properties were studied through the measurement of the conversion as a function of the curing temperature, and the cure activation energy (Ea) was studied by the Kissinger method with a dynamic differential scanning calorimetry analysis. The thermal stabilities, largely based on the integral procedural decomposition temperature (IPDT) and decomposed activation energy (Et), were investigated by the measurement of thermogravimetric analysis. For the mechanical properties of the casting specimens, the critical stress intensity factor (KIC) test was performed, and their fractured surfaces were examined with scanning electron microscopy. Ea, IPDT, Et, and KIC increased with PSF increasing in the neat epoxy resin up to 30 wt %. However, there was a marginal decrease in the blend system in both the thermal and mechanical properties due to the phase separation between DGEBA and PSF. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Two series of nanocomposites from the FexOy–SiO2 system, containing 20 mass% iron oxide were prepared by the alkoxide route of the sol–gel method, in the absence and presence of catalyst. The silica gel has been obtained using tetraethoxysilane. The iron(III) nitrate nonahydrate has been used as iron oxides source. The samples have been prepared in identical conditions, differing only by the gelation times, induced by different surface of evaporation/volume (S/V) ratios of sol let to gelify. Thermal analysis data have established the thermal treatments conditions of the prepared samples and were correlated with X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy and TEM results, in order to accomplish a complete structural characterization. The correlation between the structural modifications of the FexOy–SiO2 nanocomposites and different conditions of drying has been established.  相似文献

Summary Studies on ruthenia-titania based materials have been attractive because of their catalytic properties as well as due to the possibility of solid solution formation. Samples of pure ruthenia and ruthenia containing various amounts of titania (10-70 mol%) were investigated during heating of their hydroxide precursors from 20 to 800°C in air using emanation thermal analysis (ETA), thermogravimetry (TG), and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The resulting mixed oxide type materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), which indicate the presence of three ruthenia-titania phases. The onset temperature of the crystallization of materials was identified by ETA results, whereas DTA effects characterized the crystallization in bulk of the samples. A good agreement was found between the ETA results and other characterization techniques used. ETA results, indicating the microstructural changes in surface and subsurface of ruthenia-titania based catalytic materials, can be used for optimization of their synthesis protocols to achieve the better physical properties.  相似文献

The curing behaviour of a thermosetting acrylic-amino-formaldehyde resin matrix has been investigated by rheological, thermogravimetric, and thermomechanical analysis. The time-temperature-transformation (TTT) diagram of the solventless resin matrix has been constructed. The gelation curve could be fitted with a power-function of T gel=118.14·t gel -01238. With the help of this function the conditions for gelation can be calculated, and storability of the matrix can be predicted. The onset temperature of thermooxydative decomposition is 220°C, and the maximum loss of mass belonging to this temperature was found to be 16.3%, corresponding to the ultimate conversion of curing. From iso-Tcure diagrams determined by isothermal thermogravimetric analysis, the iso-curing time (iso-t cure) and iso-mass loss curves of the TTT diagram have been constructed. The iso-Tcure diagrams determined by TMA measurements, served the construction of the iso-Tcure and iso-glass transition temperature (iso-T g) diagrams. The T g of the fully cured system (T g) was found to be 30°C. The iso-Tg line of 30°C represents the ultimate conversion of the cured system, up to which no degradation takes place. This curve runs below the ultimate conversion determined by thermogravimetric measurements, meaning that above 160°C decomposition takes place simultaneously with curing reactions as supported by the increasing tangent of the straight lines fitted to the last section of thermogravimetric iso-T cure diagrams. The T g of the matrix before the cure (T g0) is less than 0°C. This means that the system is in its rubbery physical state during the curing process.  相似文献

The thermal properties of dimethylgold(III) carboxylates of general formula [(CH3)2Au(OOCR)]2 (R=methyl (1), tert-buthyl (2), trifluoromethyl (3), or phenyl (4)) in solid state have been investigated by the thermogravimetric analysis. The temperature dependences of saturated vapour pressure of complexes have been studied by the Knudsen effusion method with mass spectrometric indication. The thermodynamic parameters Δsub H T 0 and Δsub S T 0 of the sublimation processes have been calculated. Thermal decomposition of the vapour of complexes 1 and 2 has been studied by means of high temperature mass spectrometry in vacuum, and by-products of decomposition have been determined.  相似文献

Epoxy resin (EP)/polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) hybrids were prepared based on octavinyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (OVPOSS) and phosphorus‐containing epoxy resin (PCEP). The PCEP was synthesized via the reaction between bisphenol A epoxy resin (DGEBA) and 9,10‐dihydro‐9‐oxa‐10‐phosphaphenanthrene‐10‐oxide (DOPO). The structure and morphology of PCEP/OVPOSS hybrids were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Differential scanning calorimetry revealed that the PCEP/OVPOSS hybrids possessed higher glass transition temperatures than that of PCEP. The thermal stability of the PCEP/OVPOSS hybrids was studied using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The TGA results illustrated the synergistic effect of phosphorus–silicon of flame retardancy: phosphorus promotes the char formation, and silicon protects the char from thermal degradation. The thermal degradation mechanism of the PCEP/OVPOSS hybrids was investigated by real time Fourier transform infrared spectra and pyrolysis/gas chromatogram/mass spectrometry (Py‐GC/MS) analysis. It was found that OVPOSS migrated to the surface of the matrix and then sublimed from the surface in nitrogen; whereas, the vinyl groups of OVPOSS were oxidated to form a radical trap which could react with pyrolysis radicals derived from PCEP to form the branched and crosslinked structure in air. The combustion behaviors of the hybrids were evaluated by micro combustion calorimetry. The addition of OVPOSS obviously decreased the value of peak heat release rate and total heat release of the hybrids. Moreover, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy were used to explore the char residues of the PCEP and the hybrids. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
