The stationary processes of waiting times {W n } n = 1,2,… in a GI/G/1 queue and queue sizes at successive departure epochs {Q n}n = 1,2,… in an M/G/1 queue are long-range dependent when 3 < κ S < 4, where κ S is the moment index of the independent identically distributed (i.i.d.) sequence of service times. When the tail of the service time is regularly varying at infinity the stationary long-range dependent process {W n } has Hurst index ½(5?κ S ), i.e.
${\rm sup} \left\{h : {\rm lim sup}_{n\to\infty}\, \frac{{\rm var}(W_1+\cdots+W_n)}{n^{2h}} = \infty \right\} = \frac{5-\kappa_S} {2}\,.$
If this assumption does not hold but the sequence of serial correlation coefficients {ρ n } of the stationary process {W n } behaves asymptotically as cn for some finite positive c and α ? (0,1), where α = κ S ? 3, then {W n } has Hurst index ½(5?κ S ). If this condition also holds for the sequence of serial correlation coefficients {r n } of the stationary process {Q n } then it also has Hurst index ½(5κ S )

It is shown that the pre-dual of a σ-finite von Neumann algebra has property (k) in the sense of Figiel, Johnson and Pelczyński [12]. This resolves in the affirmative an open question raised in [12]. It is shown further that a weakly sequentially complete symmetric space E of τ-measurable operators affiliated with a semifinite σ-finite von Neumann algebra has property (k).  相似文献

An increasing triangular mapping T on the n-dimensional cube Θ = [0, 1] n transforming a measure μ to a measure ν is considered, where μ and ν are absolutely continuous Borel probability measures having densities ρ μ and ρ ν . We consider the well-known problem: when does an analogue of von Neumann Double Commutant Theorem hold for a multiplication operator on a Banach space of functions? We get an affirmative answer to the above problem for multiplication operators on C(K), where K is a locally connected continuum. In the second part of the paper we solve the above mentioned problem for multiplication operators on C (1)[0, 1] in the case when the multiplier is either a polynomial or a non-decreasing function.  相似文献

We investigate one-dimensional (2p × 2p)-matrix Dirac operators DX and DX with point matrix interactions on a discrete set X. Several results of [4] are generalized to the case of (p × p)-matrix interactions with p > 1. It is shown that a number of properties of the operators DX and DX (self-adjointness, discreteness of the spectrum, etc.) are identical to the corresponding properties of some Jacobi matrices BX and BX with (p × p)-matrix entries. The relationship found is used to describe these properties as well as conditions of continuity and absolute continuity of the spectra of the operators DX and DX. Also the non-relativistic limit at the velocity of light c → ∞ is studied.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the problem of finding upper bounds of certain matrix operators such as Hausdorff, Nörlund matrix, weighted mean and summability on sequence spaces l p(w) and Lorentz sequence spaces d(w, p), which was recently considered in [9] and [10] and similarly to [14] by Josip Pecaric, Ivan Peric and Rajko Roki. We describe all the left cells and two-sided cells of the weighted Coxeter group(W,S,L) that have non-empty intersection with W_J,where the weight function L of(W, S) is in one of the following cases:(i) max{L(s) | s ∈J} min{L(t)|t∈I};(ii) min{L(s)|s ∈J} ≥L(w_0);(iii) there exists some t ∈ I satisfying L(t) L(s) for any s ∈I-{t} and L takes a constant value L_J on J with L_J in some subintervals of [1, L(w_0)-1]. Let M be a von Neumann algebra of operators on a Hilbert space H, τ be a faithful normal semifinite trace on M. We define two (closed in the topology of convergence in measure τ) classes P 1 and P 2 of τ-measurable operators and investigate their properties. The class P 2 contains P 1. If a τ-measurable operator T is hyponormal, then T lies in P 1; if an operator T lies in P k , then UTU* belongs to P k for all isometries U from M and k = 1, 2; if an operator T from P 1 admits the bounded inverse T ?1, then T ?1 lies in P 1. We establish some new inequalities for rearrangements of operators from P 1. If a τ-measurable operator T is hyponormal and T n is τ-compact for some natural number n, then T is both normal and τ-compact. If M = B(H) and τ = tr, then the class P 1 coincides with the set of all paranormal operators on H.  相似文献

In this paper, an explicit determinant formula is given for the Verma modules over the Lie algebra W(2, 2). We construct a natural realization of certain vaccum module for the algebra W(2, 2) via theWeyl vertex algebra. Quantum ergodic restriction (QER) is the problem of finding conditions on a hypersurface H so that restrictions \({\phi_j |_H}\) to H of Δ-eigenfunctions of Riemannian manifolds (M, g) with ergodic geodesic flow are quantum ergodic on H. We prove two kinds of results: First (i) for any smooth hypersurface H in a piecewise-analytic Euclidean domain, the Cauchy data \({(\phi_j|H,\partial_{\nu}^H \phi_j|H)}\) is quantum ergodic if the Dirichlet and Neumann data are weighted appropriately. Secondly, (ii) we give conditions on H so that the Dirichlet (or Neumann) data is individually quantum ergodic. The condition involves the almost nowhere equality of left and right Poincaré maps for H. The proof involves two further novel results: (iii) a local Weyl law for boundary traces of eigenfunctions, and (iv) an ‘almost-orthogonality’ result for Fourier integral operators whose canonical relations almost nowhere commute with the geodesic flow.  相似文献

A Coxeter system (W, S) is said to be of type K n if the associated Coxeter graph ΓS is complete on n vertices and has only odd edge labels. If W satisfies either of: (1) n = 3; (2) W is rigid; then the automorphism group of W is generated by the inner automorphisms of W and any automorphisms induced by ΓS. Indeed, Aut(W) is the semidirect product of Inn(W) and the group of diagram automorphisms, and furthermore W is strongly rigid. We establish monotonicity and convexity criteria for a continuous function f: R+ → R with respect to any C*-algebra. We obtain an estimate for the measure of noncompactness of the difference of products of the elements of a W*-algebra. Using the method of diagram techniques for the spin and Fermi operators in the framework of the SU(2)-invariant spin-fermion model of the electron structure of the CuO2plane of copper oxides, we obtain an exact representation of the Matsubara Green’s function D(k, m ) of the subsystem of localized spins. This representation includes the Larkin mass operator ΣL(k, m ) and the strength and polarization operators P(k, m ) and Π(k, m ). The calculation in the one-loop approximation of the mass and strength operators for the Heisenberg spin system in the quantum spin-liquid state allows writing the Green’s function D(k, m ) explicitly and establishing a relation to the result of Shimahara and Takada. An essential point in the developed approach is taking the spin-polaron nature of the Fermi quasiparticles in the spin-fermion model into account in finding the contribution of oxygen holes to the spin response in terms of the polarization operator Π(k, m ).  相似文献

The U 1 matrix and extreme U 1 matrix were successfully used to study quadratic doubly stochastic operators by R. Ganikhodzhaev and F. Shahidi [Linear Algebra Appl., 2010, 432: 24–35], where a necessary condition for a U 1 matrix to be extreme was given. S. Yang and C. Xu [Linear Algebra Appl., 2013, 438: 3905–3912] gave a necessary and sufficient condition for a symmetric nonnegative matrix to be an extreme U 1 matrix and investigated the structure of extreme U 1 matrices. In this paper, we count the number of the permutation equivalence classes of the n × n extreme U 1 matrices and characterize the structure of the quadratic stochastic operators and the quadratic doubly stochastic operators.  相似文献

In the Banach space L1(M, τ) of operators integrable with respect to a tracial state τ on a von Neumann algebra M, convergence is analyzed. A notion of dispersion of operators in L2(M, τ) is introduced, and its main properties are established. A convergence criterion in L2(M, τ) in terms of the dispersion is proposed. It is shown that the following conditions for XL1(M, τ) are equivalent: (i) τ(X) = 0, and (ii) ‖I + zX1 ≥ 1 for all z ∈ C. A.R. Padmanabhan’s result (1979) on a property of the norm of the space L1(M, τ) is complemented. The convergence in L2(M, τ) of the imaginary components of some bounded sequences of operators from M is established. Corollaries on the convergence of dispersions are obtained.  相似文献
