NOO-type tridentate Schiff base, N-salicylidene-2-aminobenzoic acid, (H2L), and its ternary Cu (II) complex containing H2L Schiff base and 4,7-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (4,7-dmphen), [Cu(4,7-dmphen)(H2L)]27H2O, have been synthesized and characterized by CHN analysis, ESI-MS, FTIR, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. The interaction of alone H2L Schiff base ligand and ternary Cu (II) complex with biomacramolecules {calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) and bovine serum albumin (BSA)} has been investigated by electronic absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy. The experimental results indicate that H2L Schiff base ligand and ternary Cu (II) complex bind to CT-DNA by means of a moderate intercalation mode. Furthermore, the fluorescence quenching mechanism between H2L Schiff base ligand and ternary Cu (II) complex with BSA possesses a static quenching process. Radical scavenging activity of H2L Schiff base ligand and ternary Cu (II) complex was measured in terms of EC50, using the DPPH and H2O2 methods. Biomacromolecule interactions and scavenging activity studies revealed that ternary Cu (II) complex yielded better results than H2L Schiff base ligand alone.  相似文献

One-dimensional (1-D) coordination polymer and mononuclear copper(II) complexes, ([Cu(nphen)(asn)]ClO4)n (1) and [Cu(nphen)(gln)(H2O)]ClO4·H2O (2) (nphen = 5-nitro-110-phenanthroline, asn = asparagine, gln = glutamine), have been synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopy, ESI-MS, CHN analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. These binary and ternary complexes of copper(II) with nphen, asn, and gln have been investigated using potentiometric methods in 0.1 M KCl aqueous ionic media at 298.2 K. The protonation constants of the ligands and the stability constants of 1 and 2 have been calculated from the potentiometric data using the “BEST” software package. The potentiometric results have been analyzed using the “SPE” software package, and the distribution curves for the copper-containing species have been determined for the ternary systems. The CT-DNA-binding properties of these complexes have been investigated by thermal denaturation measurements and both absorption and emission spectroscopy. Further, the interaction of these complexes with bovine serum albumin (BSA) and human serum albumin (HSA) has been investigated using absorption and emission spectroscopy. The thermodynamic parameters, free energy change (ΔG), enthalpy change (ΔH), and entropy change (ΔS) were calculated by the van’t Hoff equation and discussed. The distances between the serum albumins and 1 and 2 have been obtained according to fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET). Conformational changes of serum albumins have been observed from synchronous fluorescence technique. The antimicrobial activity of the complexes has also been tested on some bacteria. The effect of different amino acids on the copper(II) complexes are discussed.  相似文献

A Cu(II) complex with mixed ligands, [Cu3(mal)3(phen)3(H2O)2]?·?11H2O (mal?=?malonate, phen?=?1,10-phenanthroline) was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and luminescence spectra and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The complex crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group Cc with a?=?13.1631(10)?Å, b?=?20.1089(10)?Å, c?=?20.1267(13)?Å, β?=?103.500(3)°, V?=?5180.2(6)?Å3, Z?=?4, and R 1?=?0.0476 for 7993 observed reflections. In the complex, one Cu is coordinated by a mal dianion and a phen molecule, exhibiting N2O2 square-planar geometry, while the other two Cu atoms are coordinated, respectively, by a mal dianion, a phen and water molecules, exhibiting N2O3 square pyramidal coordination geometry.  相似文献

The new dipyrido[3,2-a:2′,3′-c]phenazine (dppz) copper(II) complex, [Cu(tpy)(dppz)]2+, where tpy is 2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine, has been prepared and fully characterized by spectroscopic methods and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Its DNA binding and in vitro cytotoxicity have been also studied. The molecular structure shows a distorted trigonal bipyramidal CuN5 coordination geometry around the copper atom. The bidentate dppz ligand binds in the equatorial plane, while tpy exhibits axial-equatorial bonding. The interaction of the complex with DNA has been investigated by electronic absorption, competitive fluorescence titration, linear dichroism, voltammetric techniques and a gel electrophoresis mobility shift assay. It is proposed that the binding mode of the complex to DNA is of an intercalation nature with the planar dppz ligands located between the base pairs of double-stranded DNA.An in vitro cytotoxicity study of the complex on human breast adenocarcinoma (MCF7) cell line by an MTT assay indicates that the title complex may have the potency to act as an effective anticancer drug, with an IC50 value of 4.57 μM (3.62-5.77).  相似文献

在pH≈10的乙醇-水溶液中以硫酸铜、酒石酸和邻菲咯啉反应合成了分子式为[Cu2(C4H2O6)(Phen)2(H2O)]·8H2O的配合物单晶。用X-射线单晶衍射测定了晶体结构,并研究了配合物对大肠杆菌、金黄色葡萄球菌、枯草杆菌的抗菌活性。晶体属单斜晶系,空间群P21。标题化合物为双核铜配合物,2个铜原子配位数不同。Cu(1)是五配位的,具有扭曲的四方锥结构,5个配位原子分别是酒石酸的去质子的羟基氧和羧基氧、邻菲咯啉的2个氮原子及1个水分子的氧原子。Cu(2)为四配位的,配位原子分别是酒石酸的去质子的羟基氧和羧基氧和邻菲咯啉的2个氮原子。分子中Cu(1)…Cu(2)间的距离为0.354 8 nm。存在分子内邻菲咯啉-邻菲咯啉的面—面π-π相互作用,面间距为0.381 3 nm。配合物对大肠杆菌、金黄色葡萄球菌、枯草杆菌具有较强的抗菌活性。  相似文献

Investigation of N-heterocycle transition metal complexes has led to the discovery of metal-based antitumor agents. Herein, two binuclear complexes, [Cu(p-4-bmb)(Ac)2]2 (1) and [Co(p-4-bmp)Cl2]2 (2), were prepared and characterized. The interactions of 1 and 2 with calf thymus (CT)-DNA and bovine serum albumin (BSA) were detected by absorbance and emission spectroscopy. The complexes bind to CT-DNA via an intercalative mode and show moderate affinity to BSA. Both complexes exhibited remarkable DNA cleavage activity. The MTT assay demonstrated that 1 exhibited higher cytotoxicity against three human alimentary system carcinoma cell lines compared to 2. Further, a cellular uptake assay demonstrated that 1 can accumulate in the nucleus and mitochondria of SMMC7721 cells to induce DNA damage and mitochondrial dysfunction. Fluorescence staining and flow cytometry analyses revealed that 1 can induce cell death by apoptosis. These findings should promote the development of benzimidazole-based transition metal complexes as novel chemotherapy agents with fewer side effects than conventional antitumor drugs.  相似文献

EPR of Cu(II) doped, low symmetry Co(II)-thiabendazole complex [Co(tbz)2(NO3)(H2O)](NO3) is investigated at 300 K. The spin Hamiltonian parameters are found to be orthorhombic with g33=2.305, g22=2.1351, g11=2.0626 and A33=147.0 x 10(-4), A22=33.5 x 10(-4) and A11=23.1 x 10(-4) cm(-1). Computer simulation of isofrequency plots reveal that the Cu(II) ions is substitutionally incorporated in the host lattice. Angular variation of the spectra shows the presence of two magnetic sites in the lattice. The low magnitude of A33 of the complex is rationalized in terms of admixture of d(x2-y2)/d(z2) ground state and delocalization of unpaired spin density onto the ligands.  相似文献

The reaction between [RuNO(NH3)2(NO2)2OH] and an excess of 3 M HCl leads to denitration of the starting complex and precipitation of [Ru(NO)(NH3)2Cl3]. Crystals of the tittle complex have been obtained by evaporation of the mother liquor at ambient temperature. The crystal structure of the product has been determined. The linear nitroso group and a water molecule are coordinated in the trans positions, three nitrogen atoms from NO and NH3 ligands occupy the coordination octahedron face.  相似文献

A novel complex [Cu(NIT2Py)(PDA)(H2O)]·(CH3OH)(H2O) has been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction methods. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c. The structure consists of [Cu(NIT2Py)(PDA)(H2O)] moiety, one solvent methanol molecule and one water molecule. The copper(II) ion is in a distorted octahedral environment: one nitrogen atom and one oxygen atom from the NIT2Py, one nitrogen atom from the PDA (2,6-pyridine dicarboxylic acid) and one oxygen atom from the aqueous in the basal plane; two oxygen atoms from the PDA in the axial position. The units of [Cu(NIT2Py)(PDA)(H2O)] were connected as one dimension chain by the intermolecular hydrogen bonds. The complex exhibits intramolecular antiferromagnetic interactions between the Cu(II) ion and the NIT2Py.  相似文献

The two designed copper(II) complexes, [Cu(L1m)2]Cl2 (1) (L1m = amidino-O-methylurea) and [Cu(L2m)2]Cl2 (2) (L2m = N-methylphenyl-amidino-O-methylurea), have been investigated for their interaction with calf thymus DNA by utilizing the absorption titration method, viscometric studies and thermal denaturation. The cleavage reaction on pBR322 DNA has been monitored by agarose gel electrophoresis. The results suggest that the two complexes can bind to DNA by non-intercalative modes and exhibit nuclease activities in which supercoiled plasmid DNA is converted to the linear form. Complex 2, with an intrinsic binding constant (Kb) of 1.16 × 105 M−1, shows a higher binding efficiency and a better nuclease activity than complex 1, with a Kb value of 5.67 × 104 M−1. Their DNA cleavage potential can be significantly enhanced by hydrogen peroxide, indicating an oxidative cleavage process. Further examination of the antibacterial activities against Campylobacter has revealed inhibition zones of 9.0 (for 1) and 14.5 mm (for 2), which are in agreement with their minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of 1.56 and 0.78 mg mL−1, respectively. The substantially better reactivity of 2 results from the aromatic moieties on the side chain of the L2m ligand which act as an additional binding site.  相似文献

Investigation of the CuCl2/H2Memal/L (H2Memal = methylmalonic acid, L = 1,10-phenanthroline or 2,2′-bipyridine) reaction system in MeOH and various molar ratios has lead to the isolation of two one-dimensional coordination polymers presenting the [Cu(L)(Memal)] repeating unit (1, L = 1,10-phen; 2, L = 2,2′-bpy). The Memal2− ligand adopts the bidentate [chelating] + unidentate coordination mode between the CuII ions. Magnetic susceptibility measurements on 1 and 2 indicated the existence of weak ferromagnetic intrachain interactions and X-band EPR spectra from powdered samples of 1 and 2 are consistent with the stereochemistry of the CuII ions and with the presence of weak exchange interactions.  相似文献

Two Schiff bases N,N′-(bis(pyridin-2-yl)benzylidene)propane-1,3-diamine (pbpd) and N,N′-(bis(pyridin-2-yl)formylidene)butane-1,4-diamine (pfbd) have been prepared and used to synthesize copper(II) complexes. Four complexes of the type [Cu(L)(N3)]X (1–4) [L = pbpd; X = ClO4 (1); L = pbpd; X = PF6 (2); L = pfbd; X = ClO4 (3); L = pfbd; X = PF6 (4)] have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of microanalytical, spectroscopic, magnetic, electrochemical, luminescence and other physicochemical properties. Two representative complexes of the series, 2 and 3, have been characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction measurements which reveal that in each complex the copper(II) ion assumes a distorted trigonal bipyramidal environment through coordination of the metal centre by two pyridine N atoms and two imine N atoms of the Schiff base with the fifth position occupied by a N atom of a terminal . They display intraligand 1(π–π*) fluorescence at room temperature and intraligand 3(π–π*) phosphorescence in glassy solutions (MeOH at 77 K). A band (492 nm) observed for the complexes in their solid-state emission spectra is an excimeric emission arising due to an aromatic π–π interaction. Electrochemical electron transfer study reveals CuII–CuI reduction in methanolic solutions.  相似文献

A novel La( III )‐Cu( II ) heterometallic coordination polymer {[LaCu2(NTA)2(4,4′‐bpy)(H2O)3]NO3·5H2O]n, where H3NTA denotes nitrilotriacetic acid and 4,4′‐bpy denotes 4, 4‐bipyridine, was synthesized and characterized by IR spectrum, elemental analysis and X‐ray diffraction. The complex crystallizes in the triclinic space group Pi with cell parameters a = 1.33710(10) nm, b = 1,44530(10) nm, c =1.0949(2) nm, α = 71.905(7)°, β = 74.327(7)°, γ = 64.427(9)°, V = 1.7912(4) nm3and Z = 2. It consists of heterometallic units, in which each La( II ) ion is coordinated in a distorted monocapped square antiprism by three oxygen atoms from water molecules and six carboxyl oxygen atoms from five NTA3? ions, and each Cu( I ) ion is coordinated by one nitrogen atom from 4,4′‐bpy and one nitrogen atom, three oxygen atoms from NTA3?. In the title complex, La( I ) ions and Cu( II ) ions are connected by the heterometallic bridging of NTA3?, constructing a two‐dimensional network structure along the [110]. And it is extended into an infinite three‐dimensional network structure by the formation of homometallic bridging of Cu‐4, 4′‐bpy‐Cu, exhibiting a certain inclusion ability.  相似文献
