Inorganic mercury (Hg(2+)) and herbicides are important contaminants of world water systems with effects on aquatic organisms and humans. The uptake of Hg(2+) and glycine by the gills of the bivalve mollusks Mytilus californianus and Anodonta californiensis was determined. Additionally, the effects of glycine, 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), and 2,4-dinitrophenol (DNP) on the uptake of Hg(2+) were also determined. The loss of primary amines from the excised gills of both species was measured in the presence and absence of Hg(2+) or MeHg(+). The results indicate that (1) the uptake of Hg(2+) is approximately equivalent in both species; (2) comparison of the uptakes with that of inulin, which occupies only extracellular space, shows that Hg(2+) is taken up; (3) the uptake of Hg(2+) is slightly altered by the presence of glycine and herbicides such as 2,4-D and DNP; (4) the rate of loss of primary amines was highly increased relative to the control by the presence of Hg(2+) and to a lesser extent MeHg(+) for both species. These results showed that both inorganic and MeHg(+) are effective in disrupting the permeability of cell membranes, causing leakage of essential amino acids from the cell. This could result in discharge of potential gradients, reduced efficiency of energy coupling, and consequently cell death.  相似文献

The structural and dynamic characteristics of dioctadecyldimethylammonium bromide (DODAB) monolayers on a pure water subphase were investigated by surface film balance, Brewster angle microscopy, and relaxation in area and surface pressure at constant surface pressure and area, respectively. The first compression-expansion cycle of the monolayer is not reversible and the second pi-A compression isotherm deviates to larger molecular areas relative to the first one. At a microscopic level this hysteresis may be assigned to an irreversible hydration of the ammonium groups of DODAB. The morphology and reflectivity of DODAB monolayers during compression and expansion on the monolayer depend on the monolayer history. Bright domains randomly dispersed were observed during compression before collapse. Surprisingly, this random distribution of domains changes into a fractal-like structure during the monolayer expansion in a narrow range of surface pressures. This morphology does not form when the monolayer is previously compressed above the collapse surface pressure. 2D foam-like structure is often observed when the film is expanded at maximum area. Relaxation phenomena in DODAB monolayers are attributed to monolayer reorganization and nucleation of liquid-condensed domains from the liquid-expanded phase. The aim of the present work is to determine at 60 °C, the influence of the specific nature of nickel salt and pH on nickel hydroxide features such as crystallographic structure and morphology. Within the range 8 ≤ pH ≤ 11.5, a home-made nickel functionalized surfactant, nickel di-dodecylsulfate Ni(C12H25SO4)2 is compared to usual salts (nickel nitrate Ni(NO3)2 and nickel sulfate NiSO4). In both cases, a sharp transition appears for pH about 10. In the classic salt case, the transition mainly affects morphology, that could be evidenced by the crosschecking of complementary techniques as SEM and nitrogen gas adsorption. For pH < 10, β-Ni(OH)2 platelets are yielded, whereas more basic conditions lead to randomly aggregated nano-grains of badly crystallized β hydroxide. Inversely, by employing the functionalized surfactant, 2D morphology is maintained in the whole pH-range, but the crystal structure is pH-controlled ( phase with interlamellar dodecylsulfate for pH ≤ 9.5, and β phase for pH ≥ 10.5).  相似文献

The paper studies the morphology and mechanical properties of immiscible binary blends of the nylon 1010 and HIPS through the radiation crosslinking method. In this blend, the HIPS particles were the dispersed phases in the nylon1010 matrix. With increasing of dose, the elastic modulus increased. However, the tensile strength, elongation at break and the energy of fracture increased to a maximum at a dose of 0.34 MGy, then reduced with the increasing of dose. SEM photographs show that the hole sizes are not changed obviously at low dose and at high dose, remnants that cannot be dissolved in formic acid and THF can be observed in the holes and on the surface. TEM photographs showed that radiation destroys the rubber phases in the polymer blend.  相似文献

Four different techniques to detect the effect of irradiation in beans were investigated. Two types of Brazilian beans, Phaseolus vulgaris L., var. carioca and Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp, var. macaçar, were irradiated using a 60Co source with doses ranging from 10.0 kGy. After 6 months storage at ambient temperature the detection tests were carried out. Firstly, germination tests showed markedly reduced root growth and almost totally retarded shoot elongation of irradiated beans as compared to non-irradiated beans. Secondly, DNA fragmentation was studied using a microgel electrophoresis. Irradiated cells produced typical comets with DNA fragments migrating towards the anode. DNA of non-irradiated cells exhibited a limited migration. Thirdly, electron spin resonance for detection of cellulose radicals was tested, since it was expected that these free radicals are quite stable in solid and dry foods. However, only in beans irradiated with 10 kGy a small signal could be detected. Fourtly, thermoluminescence, a method to analyze mineral debris adhering to food, turned out to be a good choice to detect irradiation effects in beans, even after 6 months of storage. The results indicate that three of these four techniques proposed, can be used to detect the effect of irradiation in these two varieties of Brazilian beans at a dose level useful for insect disinfestation (1 kGy).  相似文献

In this study, 1-n-tetradecyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide ([C14mim]Br), one kind of imidazolium ionic liquid (imi-IL), was incorporated into polypropylene (PP) via melt blending. The measurement of surface resistance (Rs) and volume resistance (Rv) of neat PP and PP/[C14mim]Br blends indicated that [C14mim]Br had excellent antistatic properties. The PP/[C14mim]Br blend had the best antistatic ability, when the weight ratio of [C14mim]Br to PP reached 3/100. The surface resistance of PP/[C14mim]Br decreased from the 7.67 × 1013 to 1.40 × 107 Ω whereas the volume resistance of PP decreased from 2.67 × 1014 to 2.60 × 107 Ω. Semicrystalline morphology and crystal structure were investigated by polarized optical microscopy (POM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The spherulites of PP became smaller with the addition of [C14mim]Br, implying that [C14mim]Br had a nucleating effect in the PP matrix. The XRD study indicates the crystallization process of PP was affected by [C14mim]Br, and the crystallinity of PP was thus decreased. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies reveal that [C14mim]Br had good dispersion in PP; thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) shows the addition of [C14mim]Br remarkably increased the thermal stability of PP even though it is a small molecule.  相似文献

The effect of vinyl acetate (VA) content in ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolyrner on the mechanical properties of polypropylene was investigated. Three different EVA copolymers with concentrations of 3 wt%, 6 wt%, 9 wt%, 12 wt% and 15 wt%, were blended to polypropylene. The mechanical properties such as yield and tensile strengths, elastic modulus, Izod impact strength, hardness and melt flow index of the blends were investigated. Relationship between type of vinyl acetate and concentrations, mechanical, MFI and morphological properties were explored.  相似文献

Atrazine is one of the most frequently detected pesticides and poses a great risk to humans and the environment. In this study, the effects of two submerged macrophytes, Potamogeton crispus and Myriophyllum spicatum, on phytoremediation of atrazine were evaluated. The results showed that atrazine decayed faster in the pots where these two plants were cultivated than that of the control without the plants during the 60-day course of the experiment. Metabolite analyses of atrazine indicated that atrazine was mainly converted to diaminochlorotriazine and hydroxyatrazine. Dissipation kinetics and risk assessment of atrazine showed that atrazine was degraded rather fast in maize and generally safe for human consumption at the recommended high dosage of atrazine. The maximum permissible intake (MPI) for atrazine was calculated to be 0.23 μg/person/day for a child and 0.72 μg/person/day for an adult. However, due to the large-scale application of atrazine over the years, the atrazine residue still poses a great threat to the environment. By using submerged macrophytes M. spicatum and P. crispus, atrazine could be absorbed from the sediment, hence remediating contaminated sediment and water. This study established a protocol for evaluating submerged plants in absorption or phytoremediation of pesticides.  相似文献

It is known that Brazilian chrysotile is rapidly removed from the lungs, but quantitative studies about the influence of lung surfactants on chrysotile dissolution have not been investigated. In this work, the chemical behavior of chrysotile and its dissolution in the presence of dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) were investigated in physiological conditions. The dissolution was investigated through quantification of magnesium and silicon released by chrysotile. At 37 degrees C, the magnesium concentration is similar to control (without DPPC), which is about 2.0x10(-4)molL(-1), meaning that the dissolution process is not affected by the presence of this surfactant. The same was observed for silicon. The silicon concentration released by chrysotile is similar in all media tested. It is known that the dissolution mechanisms of brucite and tridymite layers are different. From our results, we propose that under physiological conditions, the mechanism of brucite dissolution is based on its interaction with hydrogen ions and that the mechanism of tridymite dissolution is based on a hydrolysis process.  相似文献

The wood is considered a natural composite of extreme complexity, mainly composed of cellulose, lignin, hemicellulose (polyposis), and extractives. Its composition encourages biological attacks from different species. In this context, several techniques have been studied and applied for disinfecting and decontaminating wood-made works of art and cultural heritage objects, which have been damaged by fungi, bacteria, and insects. Gamma radiation has been studied as an alternative to chemical methodologies for this purpose. By this way, the aim of this article is to illustrate the effect of gamma radiation on some physicochemical properties of Pinnus patula, Pinnus cunninghamia, Cedrella fissillis, and Ocotea porosa wood species. The irradiation has shown itself to be a fast and efficient process to eliminate infestations by both insects and microorganisms and no quarantine is required because of the no generation of toxic residues. On the other hand, this process does not protect the irradiated material from re-infestations or re-contamination. In this study, relatively high gamma radiation doses were applied up to 100 kGy so that radiation effects, which are cumulative, could be retrieved by means of thermal properties. The results have shown that gamma radiation, in the studied dose range, does not promote meaningful alterations on the evaluated properties, which allows that artifacts be irradiated multiple times, even if a re-infestation occurs.  相似文献

Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and temperature modulated DSC (MDSC) have been applied to investigate the thermal behaviors of fluorinated polyurethanes (FPU), which were obtained using 2,2,3,3-tetrafluoro-1, 4-butanediol as the chain extender and based on various soft segments—polytetramethyl oxides (PTMO) with molecular weights of 650, 1000, 1400 and 2000. An exothermic peak and/or multiple melting endotherms were observed during the heating to melting temperature of soft and hard segments. Attributed to the simultaneous recrystallization and melting processes during heating, these features have been confirmed via MDSC, where an endotherm and an exotherm were noted in reversing and non-reversing components of the heat flow. Separating the non-reversing components from the reversing curves, the dependencies of polyurethane morphology on the length of the soft segment could be clarified using MDSC analysis. Soft segment lengthening significantly influences the morphology of soft segment domains in FPUs. The phase separation and crystallinity of the soft segment increased with its length. However, soft segment length exerted a minor influence on the dissociation temperature of the short-range ordered hard segment domain and on the melting temperature of hard segment crystals. Examination of the heats of melting based on the quasi-isothermal MDSC experiments indicated that the crystallinity of hard segment domains declined with increasing soft segment length.  相似文献

A series of PB-g-SAN impact modifiers with different ratio of PB to SAN ranging from 20.6/79.4 to 91.9/8.1 were synthesized by seeded emulsion polymerization. ABS blends were prepared by blending these PB-g-SAN impact modifiers and SAN resin. The rubber concentration of these ABS blends was kept at a constant value of 15 wt%. The influences of different impact modifier on the mechanical behavior and morphology of ABS blends have been investigated. The dynamic mechanical analysis on ABS blends shows that Tg of the rubbery phase shifts to a lower temperature, (tan δ)max of the rubbery phase increases and then decreases with the increase of PB concentration in PB-g-SAN impact modifier. A uniform dispersion of rubber particles in the matrix can be observed when PB/SAN ratio in PB-g-SAN impact modifier is in the range from 20.6/79.4 to 71.7/28.3. When it exceeds 71.7/28.3, an agglomeration of rubber particles occurs. The mechanical tests indicate that the ABS blend, in which PB/SAN ratio in the impact modifier is 71.7/28.3, has the maximum impact strength and yield strength.  相似文献

利用电子显微镜的欠焦成像和电子衍射技术对间同立构聚丙烯(sPP)在高密度聚乙烯(HDPE)的(100)晶面上的结晶行为进行了研究,明场结果表明,sPP能在HDPE的(100)晶面上附生生长,形成相互交叉的草席状片晶结构,电子衍射结果证明,附生生长的sPP与HDPE的接触面为(100)晶面,sPP与HDPE的分子链方向成固定的±37.交角,说明sPP在纤维取向的HDPE基质上附生结晶不仅仅是HDPE的(110)晶面对sPP有取向成核作用,(100)HDPE晶面也可作为sPP晶体的取向成核点.  相似文献

研究了研磨法(CM型)和结晶沉淀反应法(MG-2型)制备的2种乙烯聚合钛系载体催化剂.CM型催化剂含钛3.4%~4.0%,三价钛占总钛含量15%~25%,比表面积为130m2/g,催化剂活性为9.20kgPE/gTi·h,聚合反应衰减快.MG-2型催化剂含钛7.0%~8.0%,三价钛占总钛含量55%~69%,比表面积为78m2/g,催化活性为4.45kgPE/(gTi·h),聚合反应衰减慢,反应平稳.对催化剂和聚合产物的扫描电镜和图象分析研究发现,催化剂颗粒小,颗粒分散度小,则聚会产物颗粒及颗粒分散度就小;反之亦然.当CM型和MG-2型催化剂平均粒径(Dav)和颗粒分散度(Davmax/Davmin)分别为6.8、33μm和9.2、7.0时,相应聚合产物平均粒径和颗粒分散度分别为155、263μm和10.8、9.0.结果表明,聚合产物颗粒形态复现催化剂颗粒形态。  相似文献

The morphology and surface roughness of silver deposits formed by cementation in 0.5M H2SO4 solution containing 0.5M CuSO4 was investigated at various temperatures. The influence of O2 on the morphology of deposited Ag on the Cu surface was studied in solutions containing 20 or 100 mg/dm3 initial Ag+. Surface‐height‐distribution diagrams were calculated from scanning‐electron‐microscopic (SEM) images. For the lower Ag+ concentration, the formation of granular deposits occurred in the presence of O2. In contrast, under anaerobic conditions, rather flat deposits with tiny Ag crystals were observed. For the higher Ag+ concentration, the presence of O2 did not significantly affect the morphology of the Ag deposit, but increasing temperature resulted in more‐compact and denser dendrites. Differences in the Ag‐deposit morphology and surface roughness were attributed to a different mechanism in the absence of O2. Under anaerobic conditions, a competitive reaction between Ag+ and Cu+ occurs in bulk solution, which consumes additional Ag+ ions. The SEM images and, especially, distribution diagrams of the surface height provided useful information on the formation and expansion of anodic sites on the Cu surface at various temperatures.  相似文献

The porosity of 1‐hexanethiol‐functionalised gold nanoparticle films was assessed and utilised as chemiresistor sensors. Electrochemical capacitance measurements showed that the accessibility of electrolytes of different ionic strengths into the pores depended on the thickness of the electric double layer formed. A large variation in capacitance was measured in 0.01–1000 mM NaClO4, implying a wide pore size distribution. The change in morphology of the nanoparticle films upon storage in air, water and ethanol for two weeks was investigated. There was a significant decrease in the electrochemical capacitance at high electrolyte concentrations for the ethanol‐stored films compared to the freshly‐prepared films suggesting a decrease in the number of small pores of radii in the range of 0.3–3 nm. This was further supported by optical topographical measurements where a decrease in the thickness of ethanol‐stored films was observed relative to the freshly‐prepared films. The porous nature of the nanoparticle films was found to have an effect on the chemical sensing behaviour. When used as chemiresistor sensors, for the detection of heptane in water, the ethanol‐stored films provided larger resistance changes and longer response times. This suggests that the more densely packed ethanol‐stored films provided more sites that enabled film swelling, and that diffusion of the analyte occurred through the narrower water‐filled pores. This demonstrates the effect of different storage conditions on film morphology and subsequently sensor response.  相似文献

将聚L-乳酸(PLLA)熔化非等温熔融结晶, 采用DSC、POM、SEM等技术研究了降温速率对PLLA的热行为和形貌的影响. PLLA在低降温速率(2 ℃·min-1)下的结晶在118 ℃伴随有结晶机制的转变. 玻璃化温度和结晶度随着降温速率的降低而增大. 随着降温速率的降低, 球晶尺寸增大, 当降温速率为10 ℃·min-1 时, PLLA 为无定型材料. 采用模压成型的方法并控制降温速率制备了具有球晶结构的条状PLLA 生物材料, 与高降温速率下制备的PLLA相比,低降温速率下获得的具有球晶结构的PLLA材料的断面更光滑和致密, 但脆性增强.  相似文献
