In this paper we study to what extent some classical results concerning operators T, from a -space to a Banach space, or from a Banach space to a L 1-space, can be precised, when the Banach spaces involved are ordered (by a normal cone in the first case, by a closed generating proper convex cone in the second case) and when the operators T are positive.  相似文献

Extending earlier results in the plane, we prove that every n-polygon in sufficiently general position in d-dimensional projective space, n d + 2, gives rise to a derived n-polygon, which preserves a few functions; these functions are the cyclial product of (actually affine) ratios of various points, obtained by proper projections on suitable lines.  相似文献

In this paper we study Banach spaces that admit weighted Chebyshev centres for finite sets. Such spaces have been extensively studied recently by Veselý using the approach of finitely intersecting balls. Following his approach we exhibit large classes of Banach spaces that have this property. Certain stability results for spaces of vector valued continuous and Bochner integrable functions are also obtained.  相似文献

Let X be a separable Banach space with dual X *. A countable family of elements {g i }X * is a p-frame (1 p ) if the norm X is equivalent to the p -norm of the sequence {g i ()}. Without further assumptions, we prove that a p-frame allows every gX * to be represented as an unconditionally convergent series g=d i g i for coefficients {d i } q , where 1/p+1/q=1. A p-frame {g i } is not necessarily linear independent, so {g i } is some kind of overcomplete basis for X *. We prove that a q-Riesz basis for X * is a p-frame for X and that the associated coefficient functionals {f i } constitutes a p-Riesz basis allowing us to expand every fX (respectively gX *) as f=g i (f)f i (respectively g=g(f i )g i ). In the general case of a p-frame such expansions are only possible under extra assumptions.  相似文献

We give a characterization of Gaussian chaos laws on Banach function spaces which do not contain ℓ n 's uniformly. Let (e i ) be a dictionary for a separable infinite-dimensional Banach space X. We consider the problem of approximation by linear combinations of dictionary elements with quantized coefficients drawn usually from a ‘finite alphabet’. We investigate several approximation properties of this type and connect them to the Banach space geometry of X. The existence of a total minimal system with one of these properties, namely the coefficient quantization property, is shown to be equivalent to X containing c 0. We also show that, for every ε>0, the unit ball of every separable infinite-dimensional Banach space X contains a dictionary (x i ) such that the additive group generated by (x i ) is (3+ε)−1-separated and 1/3-dense in X.   相似文献

We study anisotropic mixed norm spaces h(p,q,α) consisting of n-harmonic functions on the unit polydisc of by means of fractional integro-differentiation including small 0 < p < 1 and multi-indices α = (α 1,...,α n ) with non-positive α j  ≤ 0. Functions which map n-bits to m-bits are important cryptographic sub-primitives in the design of additive stream ciphers. We construct highly nonlinear t-resilient such functions ((n, m, t) functions) by using a class of binary disjoint codes, a construction which was introduced in IEEE Trans. Inform. Theory, Vol. IT-49 (2) (2003). Our main contribution concerns the generation of suitable sets of such disjoint codes. We propose a deterministic method for finding disjoint codes of length ν m by considering the points of PG ). We then obtain some lower bounds on the number of disjoint codes, by fixing some parameters. Through these sets, we deduce in certain cases the existence of resilient functions with very high nonlinearity values. We show how, thanks to our method, the degree and the differential properties of (n, m, t) functions can be improved.Communicated by: J.D. Key  相似文献

In this paper, we study the spaces B pq s (G) and L pq s (G) of functions f with positive exponent of smoothness s > 0 given on a domain . The norms on these spaces are defined via integral norms of the difference of the function f of order m > s treated as a function of the point of the domain and of the difference increment. Assume that X is a left Banach module over a unital C*-algebra A. The notions submonotone and strictly submonotone mapping, introduced by J. Spingarn in n , are extended in a natural way to arbitrary Banach spaces. Several results about monotone operators are proved for submonotone and strictly submonotone ones: Rockafellar's result about local boundedness of monotone operators; Kenderov's result about single-valuedness and upper-semicontinuity almost everywhere of monotone operators in Asplund spaces; minimality (w*-cusco mappings) of maximal strictly submonotone mappings, etc. It is shown that subdifferentials of various classes of nonconvex functions defined as pointwise suprema of quasi-differentiable functions possess submonotone properties. Results about generic differentiability of such functions are obtained (among them are new generalizations of an Ekeland and Lebourg's theorem). Applications are given to the properties of the distance function in a Banach space with a uniformly Gateaux differentiable norm.  相似文献

Let U be a bounded open set of the Euclidean space ℝ d and let H(U) denote the space of all real-valued continuous functions on that are harmonic on U. We present a sufficient condition on the set reg U of all regular points of U that ensures that H(U) is complemented in . We also present examples showing that this condition is not necessary. The proof of the positive result is based upon a general result on complementability of a simplicial function space in a space. We show that a separable Banach space with property (M*) has a Szlenk index equal to ω0, and a norm with an optimal modulus of asymptotic uniform smoothness. From this we derive a condition on the Szlenk functions of the space and its dual which characterizes embeddability into c 0 or an ℓ p -sum of finite dimensional spaces. We also prove that two Lipschitz-isomorphic Orlicz sequence spaces contain the same ℓ p -spaces.   相似文献

A characterization of n-dimensional spaces via continuous selections avoiding Z n -sets is given, and a selection theorem for strongly countable-dimensional spaces is established. We apply these results to prove a generalized Ostrand's theorem, and to obtain a new alternative proof of the Hurewicz formula. It is also shown that our selection theorem yields an easy proof of a Michael's result.  相似文献

In this paper we generalize Ramanujan's Master Theorem to the context of a Siegel domain of Type II, which is the Hermitian symmetric space of a real non-compact semisimple Lie group of finite center.
