The non-commutative torus C *(n,) is realized as the C*-algebra of sections of a locally trivial C*-algebra bundle over S with fibres isomorphic to C *n/S, 1) for a totally skew multiplier 1 on n/S. D. Poguntke [9] proved that A is stably isomorphic to C(S) C(*( Zn/S, 1) C(S) A Mkl( C) for a simple non-commutative torus A and an integer kl. It is well-known that a stable isomorphism of two separable C*-algebras is equivalent to the existence of equivalence bimodule between them. We construct an A-C(S) A-equivalence bimodule.  相似文献

We associate to any length function L on a group a space of rapidly decreasing functions on (in the l 2 sense), denoted by H L (). When H L () is contained in the reduced C*-algebra C r * () of (), then it is a dense *-subalgebra of C r * () and we prove a theorem of A. Connes which asserts that under this hypothesis H L () has the same K-theory as C r * (). We introduce another space of rapidly decreasing functions on (in the l 1 sense), denoted by H L 1, (), which is always a dense *-subalgebra of the Banach algebra l 1(), and we show that H L 1, () has the same K-theory as l 1().  相似文献

We propose a fast summation algorithm for slowly convergent power series of the form j=j 0 z j j j i=1 s (j+ i ) i , where R, i 0 and i C, 1is, are known parameters, and j =(j), being a given real or complex function, analytic at infinity. Such series embody many cases treated by specific methods in the recent literature on acceleration. Our approach rests on explicit asymptotic summation, started from the efficient numerical computation of the Laurent coefficients of . The effectiveness of the resulting method, termed ASM (Asymptotic Summation Method), is shown by several numerical tests.  相似文献

We generalize the Atiyah-Segal completion theorem to C *-algebras as follows. Let A be a C *-algebra with a continuous action of the compact Lie group G. If K * G (A) is finitely generated as an R(G)-module, or under other suitable restrictions, then the I(G)-adic completion K * G (A) is isomorphic to RK *([A C(EG)]G), where RK * is representable K-theory for - C *-algebras and EG is a classifying space for G. As a corollary, we show that if and are homotopic actions of G, and if K *(C * (G,A,)) and K *(C * (G,A,)) are finitely generated, then K *(C *(G,A,))K*(C * (G,A,)). We give examples to show that this isomorphism fails without the completions. However, we prove that this isomorphism does hold without the completions if the homotopy is required to be norm continuous.This work was partially supported by an NSF Graduate Fellowship and by an NSF Postdoctoral Fellowship.  相似文献

We show that the set of C metrics in the two dimensional torus with no continuous invariant graphs of the geodesic flow is open and dense in the C 1 topology. The generic nonexistence of invariant graphs with rational rotation numbers was known in the C topology for metrics, and in general the generic nonexistence in the C topology of invariant graphs with Liouville rotation numbers is known for twist maps and Hamiltonian flows in the torus. We improve on a recent result of Saradha giving a transcendence measure for the quotient of a period of an elliptic curve defined over by its associated quasi-period. In an (almost successful) attempt to include in a single measure both this result and that obtained by Reyssat in 1980, we blend into the modular method ideas related to modular but also hypergeometric functions, as appearing e.g. in André's work, as well as some Galois considerations.  相似文献

We show that, given a positive homomorphism Hom(K *(C(X)), K *(A)) with [1 C(X)][1 A ], where A is a unital separable simple C *-algebra with real rank zero, stable rank one and weakly unperforated K 0(A), there exists a homomorphism h: C(X)A such that h induces . We also prove a structure result for unital separable simple C *-algebras A with real rank zero, stable rank one and weakly unperforated K 0(A), namely, there exists a simple AH-algebra of real rank zero contained in A which determines the K-theory of A.  相似文献

We study the derived invariance of the cohomology theories Hoch *, H * and HC * associated with coalgebras over a field. We prove a theorem characterizing derived equivalences. As particular cases, it describes the two following situations: (1) f: CD a quasi-isomorphism of differential graded coalgebras, (2) the existence of a cotilting bicomodule C T D . In these two cases we construct a derived-Morita equivalence context, and consequently we obtain isomorphisms Hoch *(C)Hoch *(D) and H *(C)H *(D). Moreover, when we have a coassociative map inducing an isomorphism H *(C)H *(D) (for example, when there is a quasi-isomorphism f: CD), we prove that HC *(C)HC *(D).  相似文献

The pseudodifferential operators with symbols in the Grushin classes \~S inf0 sup, , 0 < 1, of slowly varying symbols are shown to form spectrally invariant unital Frécher-*-algebras (*-algebras) in L(L 2(R n )) and in L(H st ) for weighted Sobolev spaces H inf supst defined via a weight d function . In all cases, the Fredholm property of an operator can be characterized by uniform ellipticity of the symbol. This gives a converse to theorems of Grushin and Kumano-Ta-Taniguchi. Both, the spectrum and the Fredholm spectrum of an operator turn out to be independent of the choices of s, t and .The characterization of the Fredholm property by uniform ellipticity leads to an index theorem for the Fredholm operators in these classes, extending results of Fedosov and Hörmander.  相似文献

In this paper we study the positive resolvent values of positive operators respectively of positive elements in Banach lattice ordered algebras. In the matrix case these values are just the inverse M-matrices. One of the main results is the following: Let A be a Banach lattice ordered algebra. A positive invertible element xA is a resolvent value of a positive element yA if and only if the element x satisfies the negative principle: If aA, < 0 and xaa then xa 0.  相似文献

In an attempt to find a q-analogue of Weber and Schafheitlin's integral 0 x J (ax) J (bx) dx which is discontinuous on the diagonal a = b the integral 0 x J (2) (a(1 – q)x; q)J (1) (b(1 – q)x; q) dx is evaluated where J (1) (x; q) and J (2) (x; q) are two of Jackson's three q-Bessel functions. It is found that the question of discontinuity becomes irrelevant in this case. Evaluations of this integral are also made in some interesting special cases. A biorthogonality formula is found as well as a Neumann series expansion for x in terms of J (2) +1+2n ((1 – q)x; q). Finally, a q-Lommel function is introduced.  相似文献
