We propose a method of realizing a three-qubit quantum gate with a superconducting quantum interference device(SQUID) in a cavity.In this proposal,the gate operation involves the SQUID ground-states and the Fock states of cavity modes b and c.The two field-modes act as the controlling qubits,and the two SQUID states form the target qubit.Since only the metastable lower levels are involved in the gate operation,the gate is not affected by the SQUID decay rates.  相似文献

We present an overview of two models of quantum random walk. In the first model, the discrete quantum random walk, we present the explicit solution for the recurring amplitude of the quantum random walk on a one-dimensional lattice. We also introduce a new method of solving the problem of random walk in the most general case and use it to derive the hitting amplitude for quantum random walk on the hypercube. The second is a special model based on a local interaction between neighboring spin-1/2 particles on a one-dimensional lattice. We present explicit results for the relevant quantities and obtain an upper bound on the speed of convergence to limiting probability distribution.  相似文献

We exhibit a phase transition from a rough high-temperature phase to a rigid (localized) low-temperature phase in the discrete Gaussian chain with 1/r 2 interaction energy. This transition is related to a localization transition in the ground state for a quantum mechanical particle in a one-dimensional periodic potential, coupled to quantum 1/f noise.This paper is dedicated to J. Using K-causal relation introduced by Sorkin and Woolgar [1], we generalize results of Garcia-Parrado and Senovilla [2,3] on causal maps. We also introduce causality conditions with respect to K-causality which are analogous to those in classical causality theory and prove their inter-relationships. We introduce a new causality condition following the work of Bombelli and Noldus [4] and show that this condition lies in between global hyperbolicity and causal simplicity. This approach is simpler and more general as compared to traditional causal approach [5,6] and it has been used by Penrose et al [7] in giving a new proof of positivity of mass theorem. C 0-space-time structures arise in many mathematical and physical situations like conical singularities, discontinuous matter distributions, phenomena of topology-change in quantum field theory etc.   相似文献

We study the effects of gluon radiation in top-pair production and their decays for e + e annihilation at the ILC. To achieve this we apply the POWHEG method and interface our results to the Monte Carlo event generator . We consider a centre-of-mass energy of GeV and compare decay correlations and bottom-quark and -antiquark distributions before hadronisation.  相似文献

Besides the well-known Shannon entropy, there is a set of Shannon-like entropies which have applications in statistical and quantum physics. These entropies are functions of certain parameters and converge toward Shannon entropy when these parameters approach the value 1. We describe briefly the most important Shannon-like entropies and present their graphical representations. Their graphs look almost identical, though by superimposing them it appears that they are distinct and characteristic of each Shannon-like entropy. We try to formulate the alternative entropic uncertainty relations by means of the Shannon-like entropies and show that all of them equally well express the uncertainty principle of quantum physics.  相似文献

Extending work of Budzyński and Kondracki, we investigate coverings and gluings of algebras and differential algebras. We describe in detail the gluing of two quantum discs along their classical subspace, giving a C*-algebra isomorphic to a certain Podleś sphere, as well as the gluing of Uq1/2(sl2)-covariant differential calculi on the discs.  相似文献

The rigged Hilbert space formalism of quantum mechanics provides a framework in which one can identify resonance states and obtain the typical exponential decay law. However, there remain questions of the interpretation and extraction of physical information through the calculation of expectation values of observables. The Lax-Phillips scattering theory provides a mathematical construction in which resonances are assigned with states in a Hilbert space, thus no such difficulties arise. The original Lax-Phillips structure is inapplicable within standard nonrelativistic quantum theory. Through the powerful theory of H p spaces certain relations between the two theories are uncovered, which suggest that a search for a unifying framework might prove useful.  相似文献

Hartree-Fock wave functions obtained from realistic nucleon-nucleon interaction are employed to calculate cross-sections for the reaction12 C(π +,p)11 C(g.s.). These wave functions take into account central correlations between nucleons inside the nucleus. This itself is found to change the cross-section by more than an order of magnitude. The incoming pion is represented by a plane wave while proton-distortion is taken into account in the high-energy or semi-classical approximation, thereby determining the proton optical well parameters. These values agree well with those obtained by more conventional methods. Variation of the cross-section with the oscillator well parameter is also studied. Calculations have been made using the one-nucleon mechanism for the pion-absorption process.  相似文献

We consider the problem of invariance of distillable entanglement D and quantum capacities Q under erasure of information about single copy of quantum state or channel respectively. We argue that any 2 ⊗N two-way distillable state is still two-way distillable after erasure of single copy information. For some known distillation protocols the obtained two-way distillation rate is the same as if Alice and Bob knew the state from the very beginning. The isomorphism between quantum states and quantum channels is also investigated. In particular it is pointed out that any transmission rate down the channel is equal to distillation rate with formal LOCC-like superoperator that uses in general nonphysical Alice actions. This allows to we prove that if given channel Λ has nonzero capacity (Q or Q ) then the corresponding quantum state ϱ(Λ) has nonzero distillable entanglement (D or D ). Follwoing the latter arguments are provided that any channel mapping single qubit into N level system allows for reliable two-way transmission after erasure of information about single copy. Some open problems are discussed.  相似文献

We discuss stochastic resonance-like effects in the context of coupled quantum spin systems. We focus here on an information-theoretic approach and analyze the steady state quantum correlations (entanglement) as well as the global correlations in the system when subject to different forms of local decoherence. In the presence of decay, it has been shown that the system displays quantum correlations only when the noise strength is above a certain threshold. We extend this result to the case of a Heisenberg XYZ exchange interaction and revise and clarify the mechanisms underlying this behaviour. In the presence of pure dephasing, we show that the system always remains separable in the steady state. When both types of noise are present, we show that the system can still exhibit entanglement for long times, provided that the pure dephasing rate is not too large.  相似文献

We present results on the production of bound states of Θ+ in nuclei using the (K+,π+) reaction. By taking into account the states obtained within a wide range of strength of the Θ+ nucleus optical potential, plus the possibility to replace different nucleons of the nucleus, we obtain an excitation spectra with clearly differentiated peaks. The magnitude of the calculated cross sections is well within reachable range.  相似文献

In a previous paper the two-particle distribution function and one-particle density matrix for the quantum many-body system with the 1/r 2 pair potential have been expressed as limiting cases of Selberg correlation integrals. Recurrence equations are derived which allow rapid evaluation of these multidimensional integrals. The exact results for the two-particle distribution are compared with the harmonic approximation.  相似文献

We use the phase space position-velocity (x, v) to deal with the statistical properties of velocity dependent dynamical systems, like dissipative ones. Within this approach, we study the statistical properties of an ensemble of harmonic oscillators in a linear weak dissipative media. Using the Debye model of a crystal, we calculate at first order in the dissipative parameter the entropy, free energy, internal energy, equation of state and specific heat using the classical and quantum approaches. For the classical approach we found that the entropy, the equation of state, and the free energy depend on the dissipative parameter, but the internal energy and specific heat do not depend of it. Contact-like nonstandard interactions can be revealed only through deviations of observables from the standard model (SM) predictions. We consider a number of such nonstandard scenarios, and discuss their identification as sources of deviations in fermion-pair production processes at the international linear collider (ILC), if they were observed. This paper studies the discord of a bipartite two-level system coupling to an XY spin-chain environment in a transverse field and investigates the relationship between the discord property and the environment’s quantum phase transition.The results show that the quantum discord is also able to characterize the quantum phase transitions.We also discuss the difference between discord and entanglement,and show that quantum discord may reveal more general information than quantum entanglement for characterizing the environment’s quantum phase transition.  相似文献

We present results of the study of surface oscillation modes of coherently precessing nuclear spins in the superfluid 3He-B known as a homogeneously precessing domain (HPD). HPD represents the first macroscopic experimental manifestation of magnetic superfluidity phenomenon. The measurements showed that HPD is extremely sensitive to longitudinal perturbations and it behaves as tuned (by magnetic field gradient) quantum amplifier that allows to measure very small changes of magnetic field with very high relative resolution, of the order of 10-7.  相似文献
