For q = p r with a prime p ≥ 7 such that ${q \equiv 1}$ or 19 (mod 30), the desarguesian projective plane PG(2, q) of order q has a unique conjugacy class of projectivity groups isomorphic to the alternating group A 6 of degree 6. For a projectivity group ${\Gamma \cong A_6}$ of PG(2, q), we investigate the geometric properties of the (unique) Γ-orbit ${\mathcal{O}}$ of size 90 such that the 1-point stabilizer of Γ in its action on ${\mathcal O}$ is a cyclic group of order 4. Here ${\mathcal O}$ lies either in PG(2, q) or in PG(2, q 2) according as 3 is a square or a non-square element in GF(q). We show that if q ≥ 349 and q ≠ 421, then ${\mathcal O}$ is a 90-arc, which turns out to be complete for q = 349, 409, 529, 601,661. Interestingly, ${\mathcal O}$ is the smallest known complete arc in PG(2,601) and in PG(2,661). Computations are carried out by MAGMA.  相似文献

Let G be the group of projectivities stabilizing a unital $\mathcal{U}$ in PG(2,q 2). In?this paper, we prove that $\mathcal{U}$ is a classical unital if and only if there are two points in $\mathcal{U}$ such that the stabilizer of these two points in G has order?q 2?1.  相似文献

Let M n be a closed Riemannian manifold of diameter d. Our first main result is that for every two (not necessarily distinct) points ${p,q \in M^n}$ and every positive integer k there are at least k distinct geodesics connecting p and q of length ${\leq 4nk^2d}$ . We demonstrate that all homotopy classes of M n can be represented by spheres swept-out by “short” loops unless the length functional has “many” “deep” local minima of a “small” length on the space ${\Omega_{pq}M^n}$ of paths connecting p and q. For example, one of our results implies that for every positive integer k there are two possibilities: Either the length functional on ${\Omega_{pq} M^n}$ has k distinct non-trivial local minima with length ${\leq 2kd}$ and “depth” ${\geq 2d}$ ; or for every m every map of S m into ${\Omega_{pq}M^n}$ is homotopic to a map of S m into the subspace ${\Omega_{pq}^{4(k+2)(m+1)d}M^n}$ of ${\Omega_{pq}M^n}$ that consists of all paths of length ${\leq 4(k+2)(m+1)d}$ .  相似文献

Let qp s be a power of a prime number p and let ${\mathbb {F}_{\rm q}}$ be a finite field with q elements. This paper aims to demonstrate the utility and relation of composed products to other areas such as the factorization of cyclotomic polynomials, construction of irreducible polynomials, and linear recurrence sequences over ${\mathbb {F}_{\rm q}}$ . In particular we obtain the explicit factorization of the cyclotomic polynomial ${\Phi_{2^nr}}$ over ${\mathbb {F}_{\rm q}}$ where both r ≥ 3 and q are odd, gcd(q, r) = 1, and ${n\in \mathbb{N}}$ . Previously, only the special cases when r = 1, 3, 5, had been achieved. For this we make the assumption that the explicit factorization of ${\Phi_r}$ over ${\mathbb {F}_{\rm q}}$ is given to us as a known. Let ${n = p_1^{e_1}p_2^{e_2}\cdots p_s^{e_s}}$ be the factorization of ${n \in \mathbb{N}}$ into powers of distinct primes p i , 1 ≤ i ≤ s. In the case that the multiplicative orders of q modulo all these prime powers ${p_i^{e_i}}$ are pairwise coprime, we show how to obtain the explicit factors of ${\Phi_{n}}$ from the factors of each ${\Phi_{p_i^{e_i}}}$ . We also demonstrate how to obtain the factorization of ${\Phi_{mn}}$ from the factorization of ${\Phi_n}$ when q is a primitive root modulo m and ${{\rm gcd}(m, n) = {\rm gcd}(\phi(m),{\rm ord}_n(q)) = 1.}$ Here ${\phi}$ is the Euler’s totient function, and ord n (q) denotes the multiplicative order of q modulo n. Moreover, we present the construction of a new class of irreducible polynomials over ${\mathbb {F}_{\rm q}}$ and generalize a result due to Varshamov (Soviet Math Dokl 29:334–336, 1984).  相似文献

We prove an ${L^2 \times L^2 \rightarrow L_t^qL_x^p }$ bilinear Fourier extension estimate for the cone when p, q are on the critical line ${1/q=(\frac{n+1}{2})(1-1/p)}$ . This extends previous results by Wolff, Tao and Lee-Vargas.  相似文献

In 1965, Lu Yu-Qian discovered that the Poisson kernel of the homogenous domain S m,p,q={Z∈Cm×m, Z1∈Cm×p,Z2 ∈Cq×m|2i1( Z-Z+)-Z1Z1′-Z2′Z20} does not satisfy the Laplace-Beltrami equation associated with the Bergman metric when S m,p,q is not symmetric. However the map T0:Z→Z, Z1→Z1 , Z2→Z2 transforms S m,p,q into a domain S I (m, m + p + q) which can be mapped by the Cayley transformation into the classical domains R I (m, m + p + q). The pull back of the Bergman metric of R I (m, m + p + q) to S m,p,q is a Riemann metric ds 2 which is not a Khler metric and even not a Hermitian metric in general. It is proved that the Laplace-Beltrami operator associated with the metric ds 2 when it acts on the Poisson kernel of S m,p,q equals 0. Consequently, the Cauchy formula of S m,p,q can be obtained from the Poisson formula.  相似文献

Letp be a prime number ≡ 3 mod 4,G p the unit group of ?/p?, andg a generator ofG p. Letq be an odd divisor ofp - 1 andG p 2q = {t 2q;tG pthe subgroup of index2q inG p. The groupG p 2 / p 2q consists of the classes \(\bar g^{2j} \) ,j = 0,...,q – 1. In this paper we study the ’excesses’ of the classes \(\bar g^{2j} \) in {l,...,(p–l)/2}, i.e., the numbers \(\Phi _j = \left| {\left\{ {k;1 \leqslant k \leqslant \left( {p - 1} \right)/2,\bar k \in \bar g^{2j} } \right\}} \right| - \left| {\left\{ {k;\left( {p - 1} \right)/2 \leqslant k \leqslant p - 1,\bar k \in \bar g^{2j} } \right\}} \right|\) ,j = 0.....q — 1. First we express therelative class number h 2q of the subfieldK 2q? ?(e2#x03C0;i/p ) of degree [K 2q: ?] =2q in terms of these excesses. We use this formula to establish certaincongruences for the Фj. E.g., ifq ∈ {3,5,11}, each number Фj is congruent modulo 4 to each other iff 2 dividesh 2q - . Finally we study thevariance of the excesses, i.e., the number \(\sigma ^2 = ((\Phi _0 - \hat \Phi )^2 + \ldots + (\Phi _{q - 1} - \hat \Phi )^2 )/(q - 1)\) , where \(\hat \Phi \) is the mean value of the numbers Фj. We obtain an explicit lower bound for σ2 in terms ofh 2q - /h 2 - . Moreover, we show that log σ2 is asymptotically equal to 21og(h 2q - h 2 - )/(q - 1) forp→∞. Three tables illustrate the results.  相似文献

In the projective planes PG(2, q), more than 1230 new small complete arcs are obtained for ${q \leq 13627}$ and ${q \in G}$ where G is a set of 38 values in the range 13687,..., 45893; also, ${2^{18} \in G}$ . This implies new upper bounds on the smallest size t 2(2, q) of a complete arc in PG(2, q). From the new bounds it follows that $$t_{2}(2, q) < 4.5\sqrt{q} \, {\rm for} \, q \leq 2647$$ and q = 2659,2663,2683,2693,2753,2801. Also, $$t_{2}(2, q) < 4.8\sqrt{q} \, {\rm for} \, q \leq 5419$$ and q = 5441,5443,5449,5471,5477,5479,5483,5501,5521. Moreover, $$t_{2}(2, q) < 5\sqrt{q} \, {\rm for} \, q \leq 9497$$ and q = 9539,9587,9613,9623,9649,9689,9923,9973. Finally, $$t_{2}(2, q) <5 .15\sqrt{q} \, {\rm for} \, q \leq 13627$$ and q = 13687,13697,13711,14009. Using the new arcs it is shown that $$t_{2}(2, q) < \sqrt{q}\ln^{0.73}q {\rm for} 109 \leq q \leq 13627\, {\rm and}\, q \in G.$$ Also, as q grows, the positive difference ${\sqrt{q}\ln^{0.73} q-\overline{t}_{2}(2, q)}$ has a tendency to increase whereas the ratio ${\overline{t}_{2}(2, q)/(\sqrt{q}\ln^{0.73} q)}$ tends to decrease. Here ${\overline{t}_{2}(2, q)}$ is the smallest known size of a complete arc in PG(2,q). These properties allow us to conjecture that the estimate ${t_{2}(2,q) < \sqrt{q}\ln ^{0.73}q}$ holds for all ${q \geq 109.}$ The new upper bounds are obtained by finding new small complete arcs in PG(2,q) with the help of a computer search using randomized greedy algorithms. Finally, new forms of the upper bound on t 2(2,q) are proposed.  相似文献

We give a general construction leading to different non-isomorphic families $\varGamma_{n,q}(\mathcal{K})$ of connected q-regular semisymmetric graphs of order 2q n+1 embedded in $\operatorname{PG}(n+1,q)$ , for a prime power q=p h , using the linear representation of a particular point set $\mathcal{K}$ of size q contained in a hyperplane of $\operatorname{PG}(n+1,q)$ . We show that, when $\mathcal{K}$ is a normal rational curve with one point removed, the graphs $\varGamma_{n,q}(\mathcal{K})$ are isomorphic to the graphs constructed for q=p h in Lazebnik and Viglione (J. Graph Theory 41, 249–258, 2002) and to the graphs constructed for q prime in Du et al. (Eur. J. Comb. 24, 897–902, 2003). These graphs were known to be semisymmetric but their full automorphism group was up to now unknown. For qn+3 or q=p=n+2, n≥2, we obtain their full automorphism group from our construction by showing that, for an arc $\mathcal{K}$ , every automorphism of $\varGamma_{n,q}(\mathcal{K})$ is induced by a collineation of the ambient space $\operatorname{PG}(n+1,q)$ . We also give some other examples of semisymmetric graphs $\varGamma _{n,q}(\mathcal{K})$ for which not every automorphism is induced by a collineation of their ambient space.  相似文献

We introduce a new type of variable exponent function spaces  ? p(·),q(·),α(·)( ${\mathbb{R}^n}$ ) and H p(·),q(·),α(·)( ${\mathbb{R}^n}$ ) of Herz type, homogeneous and non-homogeneous versions, where all the three parameters are variable, and give comparison of continual and discrete approaches to their definition. Under the only assumption that the exponents p, q and α are subject to the log-decay condition at infinity, we prove that sublinear operators, satisfying the size condition known for singular integrals and bounded in L p(·)( ${\mathbb{R}^n}$ ), are also bounded in the nonhomogeneous version of the introduced spaces, which includes the case maximal and Calderón-Zygmund singular operators.  相似文献

Letq be a regular quadratic form on a vector space (V, $\mathbb{F}$ ) and assume dimV ≥ 4 and ¦ $\mathbb{F}$ ¦ ≥ 4. We consider a permutation ? of the central affine quadric $\mathcal{F}$ := {x εV ¦q(x) = 1} such that $$(*)x \cdot y = \mu \Leftrightarrow x^\varphi \cdot y^\varphi = \mu \forall x,y\varepsilon \mathcal{F}$$ holds true, where μ is a fixed element of $\mathbb{F}$ and where “·” is the scalar product associated withq. We prove that ? is induced (in a certain sense) by a semi-linear bijection (σ,?): (V, $\mathbb{F}$ ) → (V, $\mathbb{F}$ ) such thatq o ?o q, provided $\mathcal{F}$ contains lines and the pair (μ, $\mathbb{F}$ ) has additional properties if there ar no planes in $\mathcal{F}$ . The cases μ, 0 and μ = 0 require different techniques.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the existence of homoclinic solutions for the following second order non-autonomous Hamiltonian system $${\ddot q}-L(t)q+\nabla W(t,q)=0, \quad\quad\quad\quad\quad\quad\quad (\rm HS)$$ where ${L\in C({\mathbb R},{\mathbb R}^{n^2})}$ is a symmetric and positive definite matrix for all ${t\in {\mathbb R}}$ , W(t, q)?=?a(t)U(q) with ${a\in C({\mathbb R},{\mathbb R}^+)}$ and ${U\in C^1({\mathbb R}^n,{\mathbb R})}$ . The novelty of this paper is that, assuming L is bounded from below in the sense that there is a constant M?>?0 such that (L(t)q, q)?≥ M |q|2 for all ${(t,q)\in {\mathbb R}\times {\mathbb R}^n}$ , we establish one new compact embedding theorem. Subsequently, supposing that U satisfies the global Ambrosetti–Rabinowitz condition, we obtain a new criterion to guarantee that (HS) has one nontrivial homoclinic solution using the Mountain Pass Theorem, moreover, if U is even, then (HS) has infinitely many distinct homoclinic solutions. Recent results from the literature are generalized and significantly improved.  相似文献

Let $\tilde h^r _{\infty ,\beta } $ and $\tilde H^r _{\infty ,\beta } $ denote those 2π-periodic, real-valued functions onR that are analytic in the strip |Imz|<β and satisfy the restrictions |Ref (r)(z)| ≤ 1 and |f (r)(z)| ≤ 1, respectively. We determine the Kolmogorov, linear, and Gel’fand widths of $\tilde h^r _{\infty ,\beta } $ inL q[0, 2π], 1 ≤q ≤ ∞, and $\tilde H^r _{\infty ,\beta } $ inL [0, 2π].  相似文献

We study spectral properties of Hamiltonians H X,β,q with δ′-point interactions on a discrete set ${X = \{x_k\}_{k=1}^\infty \subset (0, +\infty)}$ . Using the form approach, we establish analogs of some classical results on operators H q =  ?d2/dx 2 + q with locally integrable potentials ${q \in L^1_{\rm loc}[0, +\infty)}$ . In particular, we establish the analogues of the Glazman–Povzner–Wienholtz theorem, the Molchanov discreteness criterion, and the Birman theorem on stability of an essential spectrum. It turns out that in contrast to the case of Hamiltonians with δ-interactions, spectral properties of operators H X,β,q are closely connected with those of ${{\rm H}_{X,q}^N = \oplus_{k}{\rm H}_{q,k}^N}$ , where ${{\rm H}_{q,k}^N}$ is the Neumann realization of ?d2/dx 2 + q in L 2(x k-1,x k ).  相似文献

We consider the weighted space W 1 (2) (?,q) of Sobolev type $$W_1^{(2)} (\mathbb{R},q) = \left\{ {y \in A_{loc}^{(1)} (\mathbb{R}):\left\| {y''} \right\|_{L_1 (\mathbb{R})} + \left\| {qy} \right\|_{L_1 (\mathbb{R})} < \infty } \right\} $$ and the equation $$ - y''(x) + q(x)y(x) = f(x),x \in \mathbb{R} $$ Here f ε L 1(?) and 0 ? qL 1 loc (?). We prove the following:
  1. The problems of embedding W 1 (2) (?q) ? L 1(?) and of correct solvability of (1) in L 1(?) are equivalent
  2. an embedding W 1 (2) (?,q) ? L 1(?) exists if and only if $$\exists a > 0:\mathop {\inf }\limits_{x \in R} \int_{x - a}^{x + a} {q(t)dt > 0} $$

In this paper we investigate the regularity of solutions for the following degenerate partial differential equation $$\left \{\begin{array}{ll} -\Delta_p u + u = f \qquad {\rm in} \,\Omega,\\ \frac{\partial u}{\partial \nu} = 0 \qquad \qquad \,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\, {\rm on} \,\partial \Omega, \end{array}\right.$$ when ${f \in L^q(\Omega), p > 2}$ and q ≥ 2. If u is a weak solution in ${W^{1, p}(\Omega)}$ , we obtain estimates for u in the Nikolskii space ${\mathcal{N}^{1+2/r,r}(\Omega)}$ , where r = q(p ? 2) + 2, in terms of the L q norm of f. In particular, due to imbedding theorems of Nikolskii spaces into Sobolev spaces, we conclude that ${\|u\|^r_{W^{1 + 2/r - \epsilon, r}(\Omega)} \leq C(\|f\|_{L^q(\Omega)}^q + \| f\|^{r}_{L^q(\Omega)} + \|f\|^{2r/p}_{L^q(\Omega)})}$ for every ${\epsilon > 0}$ sufficiently small. Moreover, we prove that the resolvent operator is continuous and compact in ${W^{1,r}(\Omega)}$ .  相似文献

Letq be a regular quadratic form on a vector space (V,F) and letf be the bilinear form associated withq. Then, \(\dot V: = \{ z \in V|q(z) \ne 0\} \) is the set of non-singular vectors ofV, and forx, y \(\dot V\) , ?(x, y) ?f(x, y) 2/(q(x) · q(y)) is theq-measure of (x, y), where ?(x,y)=0 means thatx, y are orthogonal. For an arbitrary mapping \(\sigma :\dot V \to \dot V\) we consider the functional equations $$\begin{gathered} (I)\sphericalangle (x,y) = 0 \Leftrightarrow \sphericalangle (x^\sigma ,y^\sigma ) = 0\forall x,y \in \dot V, \hfill \\ (II)\sphericalangle (x,y) = \sphericalangle (x^\sigma ,y^\sigma )\forall x,y \in \dot V, \hfill \\ (III)f(x,y)^2 = f(x^\sigma ,y^\sigma )^2 \forall x,y \in \dot V, \hfill \\ \end{gathered} $$ and we state conditions on (V,F,q) such thatσ is induced by a mapping of a well-known type. In case of dimVN?{0, 1, 2} ∧ ∣F∣ > 3, each of the assumptions (I), (II), (III) implies that there exist aρ-linear injectionξ :VV and a fixed λ ∈F?{0} such thatF x σ =F x ξ ?x \(\dot V\) andf(x ξ,y ξ)=λ · (f(x, y))ρ ?x, yV. Moreover, (II) implies ρ =id F q(x ξ) = λ ·q(x) ?x \(\dot V\) , and (III) implies ρ=id F ∧ λ ∈ {1,?1} ∧x σ ∈ {x ξ, ?x ξ} ?x \(\dot V\) . Other results obtained in this paper include the cases dimV = 2 resp. dimV ?N resp. ∣F∣ = 3.  相似文献

For q?≥ 3, we let ${\mathcal{S}_q}$ denote the projectivization of the set of symmetric q × q matrices with coefficients in ${\mathbb{C}}$ . We let ${I(x)=(x_{i,j})^{-1}}$ denote the matrix inverse, and we let ${J(x)=(x_{i,j}^{-1})}$ be the matrix whose entries are the reciprocals of the entries of x. We let ${K|\mathcal{S}_q=I\circ J:~\mathcal{S}_q\rightarrow \mathcal{S}_q}$ denote the restriction of the composition I ? J to ${\mathcal{S}_q}$ . This is a birational map whose properties have attracted some attention in statistical mechanics. In this paper we compute the degree complexity of ${K|\mathcal{S}_q}$ , thus confirming a conjecture of Angles d’Auriac et?al. (J Phys A Math Gen 39:3641–3654, 2006).  相似文献
