A simple and rapid flow injection (FI) method is reported for the determination of phosphate (as molybdate reactive P) in freshwaters based on luminol chemiluminescence (CL) detection. The molybdophosphoric heteropoly acid formed by phosphate and ammonium molybdate in acidic conditions generated chemiluminescence emission via the oxidation of luminol. The detection limit (3× standard deviation of blank) was 0.03 μg P l−1 (1.0 nM), with a sample throughput of 180 h−1. The calibration graph was linear over the range 0.032–3.26 μg P l−1 (r2=0.9880) with relative standard deviations (n=4) in the range 1.2–4.7%. Interfering cations (Ca(II), Mg(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cu(II), Co(II), Fe(II) and Fe(III)) were removed by passing the sample through an in-line iminodiacetate chelating column. Silicate interference (at 5 mg Si l−1) was effectively masked by the addition of tartaric acid and other common anions (Cl, SO42−, HCO3, NO3 and NO2) did not interfere at their maximum admissible concentrations in freshwaters. The method was applied to freshwater samples and the results (26.1±1.1–62.0±0.4 μg P l−1) were not significantly different (P=0.05) from results obtained using a segmented flow analyser method with spectrophotometric detection (24.4±4.45–84.0±16.0 μg P l−1).  相似文献

Determination of barium in water and biological fluids by emission spectrometry with an inductively-coupled plasma

An emission spectrometric method is described for the determination of barium in water urine and blood with an inductively-coupled plasma. The method is highly selective, reproducible, and sensitive. The limits of detection are 0.06 μg l-1 in water, 0.25 μg l-1 in urine, 0.6 μg l-1 in blood. For thirteen healthy subjects, the barium content was 4.3 μg l-1 (s = 1.4) in urine and less than 1 μg l-1 in blood. For a case of accidental poisoning, the content was 260 μg Ba l-1 in blood and 280 μg Ba l-1 in urine.  相似文献

A reversed flow injection colorimetric procedure for determining iron(III) at the μg level was proposed. It is based on the reaction between iron(III) with norfloxacin (NRF) in 0.07 mol l−1 ammonium sulfate solution, resulting in an intense yellow complex with a suitable absorption at 435 nm. Optimum conditions for determining iron(III) were investigated by univariate method. The method involved injection of a 150 μl of 0.04% w/v colorimetric reagent solution into a merged streams of sample and/or standard solution containing iron(III) and 0.07 mol l−1 ammonium sulfate in sulfuric acid (pH 3.5) solution which was then passed through a single bead string reactor. Subsequently the absorbance as peak height was monitored at 435 nm. Beer's law obeyed over the range of 0.2–1.4 μg ml−1 iron(III). The method has been applied to the determination of total iron in water samples digested with HNO3–H2O2 (1:9 v/v). Detection limit (3σ) was 0.01 μg ml−1 the sample through of 86 h−1 and the coefficient of variation of 1.77% (n=12) for 1 μg ml−1 Fe(III) were achieved with the recovery of the spiked Fe(III) of 92.6–99.8%.  相似文献

Organic-rich natural waters from peat bogs in continental (Switzerland) and maritime (Shetland Islands, Scotland) areas were analysed for Cl, NO2, Br, NO3, HPO42−, SO42− and oxalate using ion chromatography. These anions can be determined simultaneously in the surface and pore water samples from the continental bogs using a 250-μl injection loop. Using this loop, the detection limits were ca. 5 ng/g for the monovalent anions and SO42− and 10 ng/g for HPO42− and oxalate. An organics-removal cartridge (Dionex OnGuard P) was used to remove humic materials. These cartridges did not significantly affect the measured concentrations of anions in blind standards. Analyses of deionized water treated with these cartridges are not significantly different from those for untreated deionized water. For the maritime bogs, the relatively high concentrations of Cl (more than 100μ/g in many samples) and SO42− (up to 50 μg/g) require two separate determinations for complete analyses. A 10-μl injection loop was used to determine Cl, Br and SO42−. A 250-μl injection loop was used to measure NO2, NO3, HPO 42− and oxalate. In each instance a Dionex OnGuard P cartridge was used to remove humic materials. In addition, a chloride-removal cartridge (Dionex OnGuard AG) was used to remove Cl when the larger injection loop was used. This cartridge has no significant effect on the measurement of HPO4-2− at concentrations of 20 ng/g. In each of the bog water chromatograms there were usually a number of unknown peaks. These are probably due mainly to organic anions.  相似文献

A rapid, simple, selective and sensitive method for the spectrophotometric determination of nitrite in water has been developed and optimum reaction conditions along with other analytical parameters have been evaluated. Nitrite reacts with barbituric acid in acidic solution to give the nitroso derivative, violuric acid. At analytical wavelength of 310 nm, Beer's law is obeyed over the concentration range 0.00–3.22 ppm of nitrite. The molar absorptivity is 15330 ± 259.7 (95%) with pooled standard deviation of 355.57 and R.S.D. of 2.32%. As well as the method is sensitive (2.99 × 10−3 μg NO2 cm−2) and selective, it tolerates most of the potential interferents. It has been successfully applied to nitrite determination in natural waters by use of a calibration graph with determination limit of 1.66 μg NO2 in 100 mL working solution corresponding to minimum 9.5 ppb NO2–N in water samples. Lower concentrations of nitrite (3.0 μg NO2/L sample) is precisely analyzed by using the method of dilution with sample, with R.S.D. of lower than 0.5%. The results were compared with standard N-(1-naphtyl)ethylenediamine dihydrochloride method and very good agreement between the data was observed. The method can easily be applied in the field.  相似文献

A new method has been developed for ion-interaction chromatography with suppressed conductivity detection and a new graphitized carbon packing, which is sintered from carbonic material at a high temperature. Combinations of various eluting agents, tetrabutylammonium hydroxide (TBA) and acetonitrile have been investigated to optimize the separation of eight common anions (F, Cl, NO2, Br, NO3, SO42−, HPO42− and I). Calibration curves were linear from 0.5 to 10 μg/ml for F, from 1.0 to 20 μg/ml for Cl, NO2 and NO3, from 2.5 to 50 μg/ml for Br and SO42− and from 5.0 to 100 μg/ml for HPO42− and I with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.999 or better. The relative standard deviations (R.S.D.s) of peak areas were between 0.2 and 0.9% for 10 repeated measurements. The application of this newly developed method was demonstrated by the determination of chloride, bromide and sulfate in pharmaceutical compounds using the direct injection method. The analytical results were within ±2% (relative) of the theoretical value, and thus in good agreement with the theoretical value for each sample.  相似文献

A method for the determination of total selenium in serum samples by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry was evaluated. The method involved direct introduction of 1:5 diluted serum samples (1% v/v NH4OH+0.05% w/v Triton X-100®) into transversely heated graphite tubes, and the use of 10 μg Pd+3 μg Mg(NO3)2 as chemical modifier. Optimization of the modifier mass and the atomization temperature was conducted by simultaneously varying such parameters and evaluating both the integrated absorbance and the peak height/peak area ratio. The latter allowed the selection of compromise conditions rendering good sensitivity and adequate analyte peak profiles. A characteristic mass of 49 pg and a detection limit (3s) of 6 μg 1−1 Se, corresponding to 30 μg l−1 Se in the serum sample, were obtained. The analyte addition technique was used for calibration. The accuracy was assessed by the determination of total selenium in Seronorm™ Trace Elements Serum Batch 116 (Nycomed Pharma AS). The method was applied for the determination of total selenium in ten serum samples taken from individuals with no known physical affection. The selenium concentration ranged between 79 and 147 μg l−1, with a mean value of 114±22 μg l−1.  相似文献

Investigation of the use of a single analytical procedure using the non-suppressed ion chromatographic method with direct spectrophotometric detection capable of determining eight oxoanions simultaneously is presented in this paper. Potassium phosphate was found to be the most suitable eluent for UV absorbance detection at 205 nm. Oxoanions AsO3−3, SeO2−3, AsO3−4, VO3, SeO2−4, WO2−4, MoO2−4 and CrO2−4 were detected at ng ml−1 levels with well separated peaks at retention time < 25 min. The working range is in the range ng ml−1 to 50 μg ml−1. The method is sufficiently sensitive to determine As (V), V(V), Mo(VI) and Cr(VI) anions (and NO3) directly in a river water sample. The accuracy of these results was established by comparison with conventional atomic absorption methods.  相似文献

A selective and sensitive ion chromatographic method has been developed for the determination of beryllium in a number of water samples at low-μg/l concentrations. The separation was performed on a 250×4.0 mm I.D. iminodiacetic acid functionalised silica gel column. Chromatographed Be(II) was detected using visible detection at 590 nm following post-column reaction with chrome azurol S (CAS). The optimum separation and derivatisation conditions were studied in detail. The optimum eluent conditions were found to be 0.4 M KNO3, adjusted to pH 2.5 using HNO3, with optimum post-column detection being achieved using a solution containing 0.26 mM CAS, 2% Triton X-100, 50 mM 2-(N-morpholino)ethanesulfonic acid, pH 6.0. Under the above conditions, the concentration detection limit for Be(II) was found to be 3 μg/l in a standard solution and 4 μg/l in a typical tap water sample, using a 250 μl injection. The method was linear over the investigated range of 10 μg/l to 10 mg/l and highly reproducible. The method was successfully applied to a number of water samples of varying matrix complexity, including simulated seawater, and also to a natural freshwater certified reference material NIST 1640.  相似文献

A simple and rapid spectrophotometric method for the determination of tinidazole is presented. This method is based on the measurement of the absorbance of the signal at 368 nm yielded by bathochromic shift during alkaline hydrolysis of tinidazole in 0.1 N NaOH. The method is linear within the range of 1–30 μg ml−1, and the detection and quantification limits are 0.07 and 0.25 μg ml−1, respectively. The precision of the method, expressed as the relative standard deviation, is 0.19% for a tinidazole concentration of 15 (μg ml−1. The method was applied to the analysis of tinidazole in pharmaceutical formulations and serum.  相似文献

An analytical method using silica gel chemically modified with zirconium (IV) phosphate for preconcentration of lead and copper, in a column system, and their sequential determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS), was developed. Sample solutions are passed through a glass column packed with 100 mg of the sorbent material, at pH 4.5, and lead and copper are eluted with 1.0 mol l−1 HNO3 at a flow rate of 2.0 ml min−1. The extraction of copper is affected by Fe(II), Mn(II), Zn(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) while only Fe(II) interferes in the lead determination. These interferences may be overcome with an appropriate addition of a KI or NaF solution. An enrichment factor of 30 was obtained for both metals. While the limits of detection (3σ) were 6.1 and 1.1 μg l−1, for Pb and Cu, respectively, the limits of determination were 16.7 and 3.3 μg l−1. The precision expressed as relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) obtained for 3.3 μg l−1 of Cu and 16.7 μg l−1 of Pb were 4.3 and 4.7%, respectively, calculated from ten measurements. The proposed method was evaluated with reference material and was applied for the determination of lead and copper in industrial and river waters.  相似文献

Sample preparation procedures using octadecyl (C18) extraction disks were developed to obtain accurate and reproducible results for determinations of clenbuterol (20 μg per dose) and levothyroxine (100 μg per dose) in dissolution media of solid oral dosage forms. Preconcentration of samples allowed final concentrations of 1.1 μg/ml of clenbuterol and 4.0 μg/ml of levothyroxine to be reached prior to CE analysis. The results obtained by CE were in good agreement with those of HPLC. The precision of the migration time, peak area, peak height and accuracy were determined in both intea-day (n = 6) and inter-day (n =18) assays. Linearity was demonstrated over the ranges 0.5–80.0 μg/ml of clenbuterol and 1.0–30.0 μg/ml of levothyroxine. The mean recoveries were higher than 94.0%, ranging from 50 to 125% levels with respect to dose potencies. The proposed methodology may be generally applied to determine drugs at ng/ml concentrations.  相似文献

The resistance of a novel silica-based N,N,N′,N′-tetraoctyl-3-oxapentane-1,5-diamide (TODGA) polymeric adsorption material (TODGA/SiO2-P) against nitric acid, temperature and γ-irradiation had been investigated. The adsorption property of the treated TODGA/SiO2-P was evaluated by a 3 M HNO3 solution containing 0.01 M Nd(III). It was found that both 3 and 0.01 M HNO3 concentrations did not decrease the stability of TODGA/SiO2-P at 25°C. The quantity of TODGA leaked from TODGA/SiO2-P was equivalent to its solubility in the corresponding HNO3 aqueous solution. The effect of 3 M HNO3 on the leakage of TODGA at 80°C was significantly higher than that in 0.01 M HNO3 as well as in all cases at 25°C. The amount of Nd(III) adsorbed towards the treated TODGA/SiO2-P was determined in the range of 0.143–0.148 mmol/g for the HNO3 concentration effect and 0.142–0.0506 mmol/g for the temperature effect. γ-Irradiation showed a more noticeable destruction effect on TODGA/SiO2-P. The content of TODGA leaked increased with an increase in the γ-irradiation dose (ID) from 1.06 to 3.72 MGy in terms of the linear equation [TODGA]=794.5ID+84.0. The amount of Nd(III) adsorbed onto the irradiated TODGA/SiO2-P decreased rapidly from 0.134 to 0.0438 mmol/g, which was lower than 0.153 mmol/g, the adsorption of fresh TODGA/SiO2-P for Nd(III), according to the equation QNd(III)=−0.0301ID+0.160, showing that a large quantity of TODGA leaked from TODGA/SiO2-P. The adsorbed amount of Nd(III) decreased obviously in this order: the HNO3 concentration effect, temperature effect and γ-irradiation.  相似文献

It was found that the weak chemiluminescence produced from the reaction of polyhydroxy phenols with luminol in alkaline solution could be strongly enhanced by ferricyanide and ferrocyanide. Based on this found, a new flow injection chemiluminescence method is proposed for the determination of four polyhydroxy phenols: pyrogallol, phlorglucinol, quinol and resorcinol. The detection limits of the method are 0.03 μg ml−1 pyrogallol, 0.03 μg ml−1 phlorglucinol, 0.04 μg ml−1 quinol, and 0.02 μg ml−1 resorcinol. The possible mechanism of CL reactions is also discussed briefly.  相似文献

In our work, the synthesis and the structural properties of various layered double hydroxides (LDHs) were investigated. LDHs were prepared from metal salts with sodium hydroxide in aqueous medium at various molar ratios. Nitrate salts of, Mg2+, Ca2+, Co2+, Al3+ and acetate salt of Zn2+ were applied as precursors. The concentrations of LDH suspensions were in the range of 0.1–1 g/100 ml. The particle size and zeta-potential of LDH particles were measured by dynamic light scattering (DLS). The structure properties of LDHs were analyzed by several methods, namely XRD, UV-vis spectroscopy and AFM. We used the layer-by-layer dipping immersion technique and the spin coating method for the preparation of multilayer films from LDHs on glass surfaces. The cleaned glass surface has a negative surface charge, which is compensated by the positively charged LDH particles. Different negatively charged binders poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate), (PSS); poly(acryl-acid), (PAA) were utilized for the preparation of layer-by-layer films. Layer thickness was calculated from absorbance measurements by spectrophotometry and mass determination of the glass surface. Typical film thicknesses were in the range of 19–70 nm/layer and 6–40 μg/cm2/layer depending on the type of LDH and preparation technique. After n = 20 immersion cycles, maximal layer thickness was 1405 nm for 20 layers of 2:1 ZnAl–LDH/PSS film. The film preparation methods tested were compared and it was established that the films obtained by the layer-by-layer method are more stable but thicker than those prepared using the spin coating method.  相似文献

The determination of cobalamins using capillary electrophoresis inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (CE-ICP-MS) was investigated. Both capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) and micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC) modes of operation were studied. The optimal separation of four cobalamin species (cyanocobalamin, hydroxocobalamin, methylcobalamin, and 5′-deoxyadenosylcobalamin) and a potentially harmful corrinoid analogue (cobinamide dicyanide) was obtained using CZE at a pH of 2.5. Both 20 mM phosphate and 20 mM formate buffers were used with success, although the formate buffer provided improved resolution. The CZE-ICP-MS method was used to quantify cyanocobalamin in a vitamin supplement and the analytical results were in good agreement (±5%) with values obtained by ICP-MS for total Co levels. The solution detection limits for cobalamins using CZE-ICP-MS were approximately 50 ng/ml. MEKC was found to be useful for the screening of vitamin preparations because it provided a rapid means of distinguishing cyanocobalamin (the form most commonly used in vitamin preparations) from free cobalt. The separation of free cobalt and cyanocobalamin using MEKC was achieved in less than 10 min.  相似文献

A non-suppressed ion chromatography (IC) with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) has been developed for simultaneous determination of trace iodate and iodide in seawater. An anion-exchange column (G3154A/101, provided by Agilent) was used for the separation of iodate and iodide with an eluent containing 20 mM NH4NO3 at pH 5.6, which reduced the build-up of salts on the sampler and skimmer cones. The influences of competing ion (NO3) in the eluent on the retention time and detection sensitivity were investigated to give reasonable resolution and detection limits. Linear plots were obtained in a concentration range of 5.0–500 μg/L and the detection limit was 1.5 μg/L for iodate and 2.0 μg/L for iodide. The proposed method was used to determinate iodate and iodide in seawaters without sample pre-treatment with exception of dilution.  相似文献

A simple, fast and reliable method, with a low detection limit, has been developed for the determination of total mercury in saliva samples. The method uses a brominating reagent, followed by on-line addition of KMnO4 at room temperature to convert organically bound mercury to inorganic mercury ions, and determines mercury by flow-injection cold-vapour atomic absorption spectrometry. Using the method described, complete recoveries of five mercury compounds from saliva were attained. Results obtained on real samples using the new method were comparable to that obtained using the established method with batch system. The detection limit of this method, based on three standard deviations of the blank, is 0.05 μg l−1 Hg in a saliva sample of 500 μl. A sample throughput of 80 measurements per hour is possible with the method. The calibration curves are linear up to 20 μg l−1 and the dynamic range extends to 40 μg l−1 Hg. At a concentration of 1μg l−1 mercury in saliva, the relative standard deviation is about 2% for 11 replicates; a total volume of 0.5 ml saliva is required for three replicates.  相似文献

A method based on matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD) has been developed for the determination of 16 organochlorine pesticides (OCs) in sludge from municipal sewage plants. Samples of lyophilized sludge were blended with alumina, placed in small columns and OCs extracted with dichloromethane assisted by sonication. Purification of the extracts was accomplished by solid-phase extraction on C18 columns and OCs were eluted with acetonitrile. Analyses were performed by gas chromatography with electron impact mass spectrometric detection in the selected ion monitoring mode (GC–MS-SIM) using deuterated OCs as internal standards. The limits of detection were between 0.03 ng/g for 4,4′-DDE and 0.7 ng/g for endrin aldehyde.

Levels of OCs were determined in sewage sludge collected from 19 water treatment plants located in the province of Madrid (Spain). In all of the analyzed samples, aldrin was the compound most often found with a mean concentration of 76 ng/g. Endosulfan-I, -BHC, 4,4′-DDE and 4,4′-DDT were also present at high concentrations, with average values ranging from 32.3 to 74.3 ng/g. OCs were detected in all of the samples, with a total concentration ranging from 52 to 528 ng/g dry weight.  相似文献
