An artificial neural network (ANN) procedure was used in the development of a catalytic spectrophotometric method for the determination of Cu(II) and Ni(II) employing a stopped-flow injection system. The method is based on the catalytic action of these ions on the reduction of resazurin by sulfide. ANNs trained by back-propagation of errors allowed us to model the systems in a concentration range of 0.5-6 and 1-15 mg l−1 for Cu(II) and Ni(II), respectively, with a low relative error of prediction (REP) for each cation: REPCu(II) = 0.85% and REPNi(II) = 0.79%. The standard deviations of the repeatability (sr) and of the within-laboratory reproducibility (sw) were measured using standard solutions of Cu(II) and Ni(II) equal to 2.75 and 3.5 mg l−1, respectively: sr[Cu(II)] = 0.039 mg l−1, sr[Ni(II)] = 0.044 mg l−1, sw[Ni(II)] = 0.045 mg l−1 and sw[Ni(II)] = 0.050 mg l−1. The ANNs-kinetic method has been applied to the determination of Cu(II) and Ni(II) in electroplating solutions and provided satisfactory results as compared with flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry method. The effect of resazurin, NaOH and Na2S concentrations and the reaction temperature on the analytical sensitivity is discussed.  相似文献

This paper presents a method whereby trace elements in NH4Cl-NH3 medium are adsorbed on activated carbon in a micro-flow-injection (FI) semi-online sorbent extraction preconcentration system and then determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS). The analytical performance of the proposed method for determining Cd, Mn and Pb was studied. A microcolumn packed with activated carbon was used as a preconcentration column (PCC). The metals to be determined were preconcentrated onto the column for 60 s and then rinsed with 0.02% (v/v) HNO3 and eluted with 30 μl of 2 mol l−1 HNO3. Compared with the direct injection of 30 μl of aqueous sample solution, enrichment factor of 32, 26, and 21 and detection limits (3σ) of 0.4, 4.7, and 7.5 ng l−1 for Cd, Mn and Pb, respectively, were obtained with 60 s sample loading at 3.0 ml min−1 for sorbent extraction, 30 μl of eluate injection, and peak area measurement. The precisions (RSD, n=6) were 2.8% at the 0.05 μg l−1 level for Cd, 3.0% at the 0.3 μg l−1 level for Mn, and 3.1% at the 0.5 μg l−1 level for Pb. The experimental results indicate that the procedure can eliminate the fundamental interferences caused by alkali and alkaline earth metals and the application of it to the determination of Cd, Mn and Pb in some water samples is successful.  相似文献

A highly sensitive and selective spectrophotometric method for determination of trace lead in water after pre-concentration using mercaptosephadex (MS-50) has been developed, the method based on the color reaction of lead(II) with dibromohydroxylphenylporphyrin. Under optimal condition, lead(II) reacts with the reagent to form a 1:2 yellow complex in presence of TritonX-100, which has a maximum absorption peak at 479 nm. The color reaction can complete rapidly and remain stable for 24 h in room temperature. The molar absorption coefficient of the lead complex, the limit of quantification, the limit of detection and relative standard deviations were found to be 2.35×105 l mol−1 cm−1, 4.3, 1.4 ng ml−1 and 1.0%, respectively. The absorbance of the lead complex at 479 nm is linear up to 0.48 μg ml−1 of lead(II). The effect of various co-existing ions in water were examined seriously. No interference was observed. Moreover, a simple pre-concentration method for trace lead in water was also studied using MS-50. It was found that trace lead in water can be adsorbed in 1.0 mol l−1 HCl and dissociated from MS-50 with 4.0 mol l−1 HCl quantitatively, that improves the selectivity and the sensitivity of method (its detection limit (3 s) changed into 0.2 ng ml−1 of lead) obviously. The proposed method has been applied to determine trace lead in water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

A new, simple and rapid spectrophotometric FI method for the accurate and precise determination of Hg(II) in pharmaceutical preparations has been developed. The method is based on the measuring the decrease of absorbance intensity of p-nitrobenzoxosulfamate (NBS) due to the complexation with Hg(II). The absorption peak of the NBS, which is decreased linearly by addition of Hg(II), occurs at 430 nm in 2×10−4 mol l−1 HNO3 as a carrier solution. Optimization of chemical and FI variables has been made. A micro column consisting of several packing materials applied instead of reaction coil was also investigated. A background level of Fe(III) maintained in reagent carrier solution with NBS was found useful for sensitivity and selectivity. Under the optimized conditions, the sampling rate was over 100 h−1, the calibration curve obtained were linear over the range 1-10 μg ml−1, the detection limit was lower than 0.2 μg ml−1 for a 20 μl injection volume, and the precision [Sr=1% at 2 μg ml−1 Hg(II) (n=10)] was found quite satisfactory. Application of the method to the analysis of Hg(II) in pharmaceutical preparations resulted a good agreement between the expected and found values.  相似文献

A multicommuted flow system is proposed for spectrophotometric determination of hydrosoluble vitamins (ascorbic acid, thiamine, riboflavine and pyridoxine) in pharmaceutical preparations. The flow manifold was designed with computer-controlled three-way solenoid valves for independent handling of sample and reagent solutions and a multi-channel spectrophotometer was employed for signal measurements. Periodic re-calibration as well as the standard addition method was implemented by using a single reference solution. Linear responses (r=0.999) were obtained for 0.500-10.0 mg l−1 ascorbic acid, 2.00-50.0 mg l−1 thiamine, 5.00-50.0 mg l−1 riboflavine and 0.500-8.00 mg l−1 pyridoxine. Detection limits were estimated as 0.08 mg l−1 (0.5 μmol l−1) ascorbic acid, 0.8 mg l−1 (2 μmol l−1) thiamine, 0.2 mg l−1 (0.5 μmol l−1) riboflavine and 0.1 mg l−1 (0.9 μmol l−1) pyridoxine at 99.7% confidence level. A mean sampling rate of 60 determinations per hour was achieved and coefficients of variation of 1% (n=20) were estimated for all species. The mean reagent consumption was 25-fold lower in relation to flow-based procedures with continuous reagent addition. Average recoveries between 95.6 and 100% were obtained for commercial pharmaceutical preparations. Results agreed with those obtained by reference methods at 95% confidence level. The flow system is suitable for application in quality control processes and in dissolution studies of vitamin tablets.  相似文献

An overview of literature data on vapour generation techniques for cadmium and comparison with own experiments by means of several different types of hydride generation-electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometric systems (HG-ETAAS) (batch, semi-batch (SB), continuous-flow (CF) and flow-injection (FI) as well as different gas-liquid separators (GLS) exhibits apparent variations and inconsistency. However, if data for optimal chemical conditions are re-plotted in another coordinates: CHCl (mol l−1) vs. the ratio of reductant-to-acid molar input rates (i.e. millimoles per minute), [BH4]:[H+], much better consistency of data is revealed: more than half of data are clustered around 0.2-0.3 mol l−1 HCl which appears an optimal acidity at moderate BH4 concentrations; the tetrahydroborate molar input rates should always be in excess versus the H+ molar input rates (1.1 to tenfold); relatively high flow rates of argon purge gas are required (≥120 ml min−1); special attention to the blank control at ng l−1 levels as well as to the construction of gas-liquid separator and vapour transfer lines should be paid. ‘Milder’ conditions for HG could be provided with some of the examined systems and GLSs, thus minimizing reagent consumption, blanks, vigorous reactions, foaming, aerosol production and drift in measurements: e.g. 0.4 mol l−1 HCl—3% m/v NaBH4 with the semi-batch system and 0.25 mol l−1 HCl—2% m/v NaBH4 in continuous flow mode. Experimental system is based on the Transversely Heated Graphite Atomizer coupled with flow injection system FIAS 400. Integrated platforms are treated for permanent modification with Zr (110 μg) or W (240 μg) and then with Ir (8 μg). Temperatures of trapping, pyrolysis and atomization are 350, 500 and 1300 °C, respectively. The best overall efficiency of HG, transportation and trapping is 41%. The characteristic mass for peak area measurements is mo=2.8 pg and the limit of detection is 0.002 μg l−1. The long-term stability of characteristic mass (within-day, 8 h) is mo=2.8±0.1 pg (R.S.D. 4.0%, n=8), whereas the corresponding between-day figures (1 mo) are mo=2.8±0.2 pg (R.S.D. 6.6%, n=6). The linear range is 0.002-0.12 μg l−1 with a sample loop of 1.8 ml, being strongly impaired with smaller sample volumes in FI mode. The sample throughput rate is 10 h−1 with the semi-batch system. Applications to real human and bovine urine samples and CRMs of sea water (CASS-3), river water (SLRS-1 and SLRS-3) and urine (SRM 2670) are presented.  相似文献

For the first time, the formation of a luminescent hexanuclear cluster has been used for the selective determination of copper. In aqueous solutions, the non-luminescent ligand N-ethyl-N′-methylsulfonylthiourea (EMT) forms an intensely red luminescent hexanuclear Cu(I)-cluster with an emission maximum at 663 nm only with Cu(II) ions. The intensity of the luminescence is proportional to the Cu(II) concentration and allows for selective Cu determinations in the μg l−1-range. Ubiquitous metal ions such as Fe(III), Al(III), Ca(II), Mg(II), and alkaline metal ions, as well as other heavy metal ions, e.g. Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II), and Pb(II) are tolerated in concentrations up to 50 mg l−1. The detection limit for Cu(II) in aqueous solution, calculated according to Funk et al. [Qualitätssicherung in der Analytischen Chemie, Verlag Chemie, Weinheim, 1992], is 113 μg l−1. The cluster formation has been used for the quantitative analysis of copper in tap water and in industrial water, as well as for the localization of copper adsorbed by activated-sludge flocs.  相似文献

A new chelating resin based on chitosan biopolymer modified with 5-sulphonic acid 8-hydroxyquinoline using the spray drying technique for immobilization is proposed. The chelating resin was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) and surface area by nitrogen sorption. The efficiency of the chelating resin was evaluated by the preconcentration of metal ions Cu(II) and Cd(II) present in aqueous samples in trace amounts. The metal ions were previously enriched in a minicolumn and the concentrations of the analytes were determined on-line by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The maximum retention for Cu(II) occurred in the pH range 8-10, and for Cd(II) at pH 7. The optimum flow rate for sorption was found to be 7.2 ml min−1 for the preconcentration of the metal ions. The analytes gave relative standard deviations (R.S.D.) of 0.7 and 0.6% for solutions containing 20 μg l−1 of Cu(II) and 15 μg l−1 of Cd (II), respectively (n=7). The enrichment factors for Cu(II) and Cd (II) were 19.1 and 13.9, respectively, and the limits of detection (LOD) were 0.2 μg l−1 for Cd(II) and 0.3 μg l−1 for Cu(II), using a preconcentration time of 90 s (n=11). The accuracy of the proposed method was evaluated by the metal ion recovery technique, in the analysis of potable water and water from a lake, with recoveries being between 97.2 and 107.3%.  相似文献

A new method that utilizes p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde-modified nanometer SiO2 (SiO2-p-DMABD) as a solid phase extractant has been developed for simultaneous preconcentration of trace Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Pb(II) prior to the measurement by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). The preconcentration conditions of analytes were investigated, including the pH value, the shaking time, the mass of sorbent, the sample flow rate and volume, the elution condition and the interfering ions. The adsorption capacity of nanometer SiO2-p-DMABD was found to be (mg g− 1) Cr(III): 6.2, Cu(II): 18.6, Fe(III): 4.7 and Pb(II): 6.0 at pH 4. The adsorbed metals were quantitatively eluted with 4 mL of 1.0 mol L− 1 HCl. According to the definition of IUPAC, the detection limits (3σ) of this method for Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Pb(II) were 0.79, 1.27, 0.40 and 1.79 ng mL− 1, respectively. The proposed method achieved satisfied results when it was applied to the determination of trace Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Pb(II) in biological and water samples.  相似文献

A method was developed for the generation of mercury vapour by means of cold-vapour flow-injection atomic absorption spectrometry (FI-CV-AAS) from white wine samples after ozonation as sample pre-treatment. Two different reactors designs for sample ozonation were developed and investigated. The limit of detection and the limit of quantification were, respectively, 0.5 and 1.7 μg l−1, and the relative standard deviation (n=10) was 2% for a concentration of 50 μg l−1 and 7% for a concentration of 5 μg l−1. The pre-treatment with ozone has allowed to reduce drastically the amount of chemical reagents (e.g. carrier agent and reducing agent) used in the FI-CV-AAS system. The mercury content of wine samples was also determined by FI-CV-AAS after pre-concentration in the presence of HNO3 and H2O2. In general, there was no significant difference among data obtained from both methodologies, but pre-treatment with ozone is much faster.  相似文献

This paper described the determination of trace manganese using linear sweep voltammetry at a pretreatment glassy carbon electrode. The glassy carbon electrode pretreated by electrochemical method in the 0.1 mol l−1 NaOH solution greatly improved the electrode responsibility in the determination of manganese(II). The barrier to the detection of low manganese concentration was overcome by means of autocatalytic effect of manganese oxide deposited on the electrode in advance. Under the optimum experiments condition (0.04 mol l−1 NH3-NH4Cl buffer solution, pH 9.0), the linear range was 4×10−8 to 1×l0−6 mol l−1 Mn(II) for linear sweep voltammetry and 1×10−9 to 4×10−8 mol l−1 Mn(II) for convolution voltammetry. The relative standard deviation for 2×10−8 mol l−1 Mn(II) is 3.4%. The proposed method is simple, rapid, sensitive and selective. It had been applied to the determination of trace manganese in samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

A simple, selective and reliable method for rapid extraction and determination of trace amounts of Cu (II) ions from aqueous samples using octadecyl-bonded silica membrane disks modified with bis-(3-methoxy salicylaldehyde)-1,6-diaminohexane and flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) is presented. Extraction efficiency, the influence of pH, flow rates, amount of ligand, and type and least amount of eluant were investigated. The linear dynamic range of the proposed method for Cu (II) ions was found in a wide concentration range of 1.0 (± 0.2)–150 (± 2) μg l− 1. The detection limit and preconcentration factor of this method were found 30.0 (± 0.7) ng l− 1 and 100 respectively. The reproducibility of the procedure is at the most 2.0%. The effects of various cationic interferences on the percent recovery of copper ion were studied. The method was used to the recovery of copper ion from different synthetic, alloys and biological samples.  相似文献

A very sensitive flow injection method with spectrophotometric detection has been developed for the on-line determination of copper in natural waters. The method exhibits a limit of detection three times lower than the most sensitive direct spectrophotometric method previously described and then allows the direct and simple in situ determination of copper in most natural waters. The method was based on the measurement of the absorbance of the coloured complex formed by copper with the chromogenic reagent di-2-pyridyl ketone benzoylhydrazone (dPKBH) in an alkaline medium. This complex presents stoichiometry 1:2 (Cu:dPKBH), and exhibits maximum absorbance at 370 nm. The manifold used was very simple, and consisted of two channels. The first one contained the sample while the second one contained the colorimetric reagent (3.3×10−4 M dPKBH in 10% ethanol), in a 1.6×10−2 M phosphate buffer solution at pH 8. The performance of the system was optimised by using both univariate and modified simplex methodologies. When modified simplex was used, the best signal was obtained for a sample injection volume of 529 μl, a reaction coil length of 1.29 m, and a reagent flow rate of 4.8 ml min−1. Under optimum conditions, the response was linear up to 3 mg l−1 copper, the equation of the straight line being y=0.314x+5.2×10−4 (r2=0.998). The method allowed a sampling frequency of 40 samples per hour and exhibited a precision of 2.11% (as R.S.D., n=11). The limit of detection was 4.6 μg l−1 (calculated as 3sb/m, where sb is the standard deviation of the y-intercept and m represents the slope of the straight line), and was therefore more sensitive than all the direct continuous methods reported previously. The method was successfully applied to the analysis of real water samples, with an average relative error of 5.32%.  相似文献

An inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) method is developed for determination of Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Ni, Tl and Zn in traces in calcite, CaCO3, dolomite, CaMg(CO3)2, and gypsum, CaSO4. Interferences of a Ca/Mg matrix on analyte intensities were investigated. The results reveal that Ca does not interfere with Cr, Ni and Zn, but tends to decrease the intensity of the other elements. Magnesium as a matrix element does not interfere on with Zn, but increases the intensities of Ni, Cr and Cu, and decreases the intensities of Cd, Co and Tl. To eliminate these matrix interferences on trace element intensities, a flotation separation method is proposed. Lead(II) hexamethylenedithiocarbamate, Pb(HMDTC)2, is applied as a collector for flotation of trace elements from acidic solutions of mineral samples. The flotation of acidic aqueous solutions of calcite, dolomite and gypsum was performed at pH 6.0, using 10 mg l−1 Pb and 0.3 mmol l−1 HMDTC added to 1 l of solution tested. The method detection limits of analytes in different minerals range from 0.02 to 0.06 μg g−1 for Cd, 0.04 to 0.10 μg g−1 for Co, 0.03 to 0.13 μg g−1 for Cr, 0.02 to 0.16 μg g−1 for Cu, 0.09 to 0.30 μg g−1 for Ni, 6.45 to 7.71 μg g−1 for Tl and 0.18 to 0.20 μg g−1 for Zn.  相似文献

This study describes the functionalization of biopolymer chitosan, using the complexing agent 8-hydroxyquinoline (oxine) by reaction of diazotization. The chelating resin was characterized by degree of deacetylation, infrared, Raman spectroscopy. The efficiency of the chelating resin and accuracy of the proposed method was evaluated by the metal ion recovery technique in the analysis of potable water, lake water, seawater and a certified sample of oyster tissue. The metal ions Cd(II) and Cu(II) in the samples were previously enriched in a minicolumn and flow injection flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FI-FAAS) determined the concentrations of the analytes. The chelating resin exhibited high selectivity for Cd(II) at pH 7 and for Cu(II) at pH 10. The eluent concentration was tested by the use of HNO3 in concentrations of 0.1-3 mol l−1 maximum response was obtained at 0.5 mol l−1 for Cd(II) and Cu(II), with R.S.D. values of 0.4%. The analytes gave relative standard deviations (R.S.D.) of 1.5 and 0.7% for solutions of Cd(II) and Cu(II), respectively (n = 7) containing 20 μg l−1 of the metal ions, defining a high reproducibility. The limits of detection (LOD) were 0.1 μg l−1 for Cd(II) and 0.4 μg l−1 for Cu(II). The analytical properties of merit were obtained using the parameters previously optimized with preconcentration time of 90 s. The chelating resin showed chemical stability within a wide range of pH and the efficiency was not altered for the preconcentration of the metal ions during all the experiments.  相似文献

A selective method has been developed for the extraction chromatographic trace level separation of Cu(II) with Versatic 10 (liquid cation exchanger) coated on silanised silica gel (SSG-V10). Cu(II) has been extracted from 0.1 M acetate buffer at the range of pH 4.0–5.5. The effects of foreign ions, pH, flow-rate, stripping agents on extraction and elution have been investigated. Exchange capacity of the prepared exchanger at different temperatures with respect to Cu(II) has been determined. The extraction equilibrium constant (Kex) and different standard thermodynamic parameters have also been calculated by temperature variation method. Positive value of ΔH (7.98 kJ mol−1) and ΔS (0.1916 kJ mol−1) and negative value of ΔG (−49.16 kJ mol−1) indicated that the process was endothermic, entropy gaining and spontaneous. Preconcentration factor was optimized at 74.7 ± 0.2 and the desorption constants Kdesorption1(1.4 × 10−2) and Kdesorption2(9.8 × 10−2) were determined. The effect of pH on Rf values in ion exchange paper chromatography has been investigated. In order to investigate the sorption isotherm, two equilibrium models, the Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms, were analyzed. Cu(II) has been separated from synthetic binary and multi-component mixtures containing various metal ions associated with it in ores and alloy samples. The method effectively permits sequential separation of Cu(II) from synthetic quaternary mixture containing its congeners Bi(III), Sn(II), Hg(II) and Cu(II), Cd(II), Pb(II) of same analytical group. The method was found effective for the selective detection, removal and recovery of Cu(II) from industrial waste and standard alloy samples following its preconcentration on the column. A plausible mechanism for the extraction of Cu(II) has been suggested.  相似文献

To an iron sample solution was added polyoxyethylene-4-isononylphenoxy ether (PONPE, nonionic surfactant, average number of ethylene oxides 7.5) and the surfactant was aggregated by the addition of lithium chloride. The iron(III) matrix was collected into the condensed surfactant phase in >99.9% yields, leaving trace metals [e.g., Ti(IV), Cr(III), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Pb(II), and Bi(III)] in the aqueous phase. After removing the surfactant phase by centrifugation, the remaining trace metals were concentrated onto an iminodiacetic acid-type chelating resin. The trace metals were desorbed with dilute nitric acid for the determination by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry or graphite-furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. The proposed separation method allowed the analysis of high-purity iron metals for trace impurities at low μg g−1 to ng g−1 levels.  相似文献

A combination of multi-syringe flow-injection analysis (MSFIA) technique with an optical fibre reflectance sensor for the determination of iron in water samples has been developed in this work. Anion-exchange solid phase extraction (SPE) disks have been used as solid phase. Ammonium thiocyanate has been chosen as chromogenic reagent for Fe(III). The complex Fe[SCN]63− is retained onto the SPE disk and spectrophotometrically detected at 480 nm. The complex is eluted with 0.25 mol l−1 hydrochloric acid in 75% ethanol. Total iron can be determined by oxidising Fe(II) to Fe(III) with hydrogen peroxide.A mass calibration was run within the range of 0.4-37.5 ng. The detection limit (3sb/S) was 0.4 ng. The repeatability (RSD), calculated from 9 replicates using 0.5 ml injections of a 25 μg l−1 concentration, was 3.6%. The repeatability between five anion-exchange disks was 5.4%. An injection throughput of 7 injections per hour for a sampling volume of 1 ml has been achieved. The applicability of the proposed methodology in natural water samples has been proved. The properties of anion-exchange and chelating SPE disks have been studied and compared.  相似文献

A sensitive and selective flow injection time-based method for on-line preconcentration/separation and determination of gallium by flame atomic absorption spectrometry at trace levels was developed. The on-line formed gallium chloride complex is sorbed onto a polyether-type polyurethane foam mini-column, followed by on-line quantitative elution with isobutyl methyl ketone and direct introduction into the flame pneumatic nebulizer of the atomic absorption spectrometer. All chemical and flow variables of the system as well as the possible interferences were studied. The manner of strong HCl solutions propulsion was investigated and established using a combination of two displacement bottles. For 90 s preconcentration time, a sample frequency of 28 h−1, an enhancement factor of 40, a detection limit of 6 μg l−1 and a precision expressed as relative standard deviation (sr) of 3.3% (at 1.00 mg l−1) were achieved. The calibration curve is linear over the concentration range 0.02-3.00 mg l−1. The accuracy of the developed method was sufficient and evaluated by the analysis of a silicon-aluminum alloy standard reference material. Finally, it was successfully applied to gallium determination in commercial aluminum alloys, natural waters and urine.  相似文献

A simple and robust time-based on-line sequential injection system for trace mercury determination via cold vapour atomic absorption spectrometry (CVAAS), employing a new integrated gas-liquid separator (GLS), which in parallel operates as reactor, was developed. Sample and reductant are sequentially loaded into the GLS while an argon flow delivers the released mercury vapour through the atomic absorption cell. The proposed method is characterized by the ability of successfully managing variable sample volume up to 30 ml in order to achieve high sensitivity. For 20 ml sample volume, the sampling frequency is 25 h−1. The calibration curve is linear over the concentration range 0.05-5.0 μg l−1 of Hg(II), the detection limit is cL = 0.02 μg l−1, and the relative standard deviation is sr = 2.6% at 1.0 μg l−1 Hg(II) level. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated by analyzing certified reference material and applied to the analysis of natural waters and biological samples.  相似文献
