A systematic study has been made of the solvent extraction behaviour of milligram amounts of gallium(III), indium(III), and thallium(III) with TBP from hydrochloric acid, and of thallium(III) from nitric acid, sulphuric acid and buffer solutions of different pH. The effect of the metal ion concentration, acid concentration, reagent concentration, salting-out agent, and diverse ions have been critically examined. A scheme for separation of gallium(III), indium(III), and thallium(III) from each other and for their determination is proposed.  相似文献

A method is proposed for the extraction and individual separation of trivalent gallium, indium and thallium from salicylate media using triphenylarsine oxide dissolved in toluene as an extractant. The optimum extraction conditions are evaluated and described. The extracted metal ions are stripped and estimated spectrophotometrically following complexation with 4-(2-pyridylazo) resorcinol. A possible mechanism of the extraction is discussed. The method permits rapid and precise individual separation of gallium (III), indium (III) and thallium (III) and is applicable to the analysis of alloy samples.  相似文献

Thallium(III), in the presence of other triply charged ions such as gallium, indium, bismuth and antimony in aqueous solution, was quantitatively and selectively extracted into 2-propanol/water phase by addition of NaCl ranging from 2.5 to 4.0 mol dm−3. The extraction efficiencies of gallium, indium, bismuth and antimony were much lower than that of thallium(III). Thus a maximal selective separation of thallium(III) from these elements could be attained using a 2-propanol/water mixture. Thallium(III) was extracted as TlCl4 with Na+. The detailed extraction mechanism in the presence of chloride, water in the organic phase and counter ions is discussed.  相似文献

Gallium is extractable as rhodamine B chlorogallate with benzene from 6M hydrochloric acid, and can be determined absorptiometrically or fluorimetrically in the extract. The interference of iron(III) is avoided by first separating gallium by extraction with isopropyl ether from hydrochloric acid solution containing titanous chloride. Traces of gallium can be determined in the presence of aluminium, indium, zinc, antimony, thallium, tungsten and other elements.  相似文献

A simple and rapid method is proposed for the separation of tervalent gallium, indium and thallium by solvent extraction with N-benzylaniline in chloroform from different concentrations of hydrochloric acid. Thallium and gallium are extracted from 1M and 7.0-7.5M hydrochloric acid respectively. Indium is finally extracted from hydriodic acid. These metals in the final extracts are determined complexometrically. Interference from some cations can easily be eliminated by reduction with sulphite, followed by selective oxidation of thallium(I) to thallium(III) with saturated bromine water, and from others by the use of thioglycollic acid as a masking agent in the extraction of gallium and indium. Most common anions cause no interference. Log-log plots of distribution coefficients vs. concentration of amine for gallium, indium and thallium indicate a 2:1 limiting mole ratio of amine to these metals.  相似文献

The characteristic features of extraction of chloride acido complexes of iron(III), thallium(III), indium, and gallium in water–oxyethylated nonylphenol (neonol AF-9-12)–salting-out agent systems are studied. The role of temperature, nature of the salting-out agent, and its salting-out ability is shown.  相似文献

The extraction of anionic chloro-complexes of certain metal ions using various long-chain quaternary ammonium halides in toluene and chloroform is described. The investigation has concerned itself mainly with coualt(II) and iron(III); a few extractions have also been carried out with indium(III) and gallium(in). The ion association of chloro-anionic complexes of iron, cobalt, indium and gallium in aqueous chloride media (hydrochloric acid or lithium chloride) with the quaternary ammonium ion in the organic phase is responsible for the extraction of the metal ion into the organic phase. Tlic extraction efficiency varies with the nature of the metal ion system involved as well as with the distribution of the quaternary compound and the size, shape and nature of the organic groups substituted in the quaternary compound.  相似文献

The extraction of Cu(II), Ga(III), In(III) and Tl(III) with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoylpyrazol-5-one (HPMBzP) from aqueous solutions has been investigated. The mechanism of extraction and the composition of the species extracted has been determined. The effect of equilibration time, various organic solvents and salting-out agents on the extraction of copper and gallium has also been investigated. The green Cu(PMBzP)2 chelate has absorption maxima at 298 and 670 nm, and PMBzP has maximum absorbance at 290 nm. A new and sensitive spectrophotometric method for copper has been devised, based on the absorbance at 670 nm. The presence of excess of reagent does not interfere and no special treatment is necessary to destroy it. The proposed method has some advantages and has been applied for the determination of copper in various soil samples. Gallium has been separated from indium, thallium, copper, iron and many other elements. The recovery of gallium and copper was 100 ± 0.2%.  相似文献

The extraction of cadmium(II), indium(III) and thallium(III) with high molecular weight amines have been studied from aqueous hydrochloric acid solutions. Using the data mutual binary separations of these three elements with high separation coefficients are proposed. Various variables like type of amine, amine concentration and organic diluent were explored to propose the best conditions of separations.  相似文献

Extraction of gallium(III) from hydrochloric acid solutions with hydrochloride of diethylenetriamine [N-(2-aminoethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine] N,N'-diacylated with neodecanoic acid was studied using chloroform as diluent. Gallium(III) can be effectively recovered from 6–10 M HCl solutions and selectively separated from indium(III), aluminum(III), and zinc(II). The concentration constant and thermodynamic parameters of the anion-exchange extraction of gallium(III) from 6 M HCl solutions were evaluated.  相似文献

A selective method has been developed for extraction chromatographic studies of aluminium(III) and its separation from several metal ions with a chromatographic column containing N-n-octylaniline (liquid anion exchanger) coated on silanized silica gel as a stationary phase. The aluminium(III) was quantitatively extracted with the 0.065 mol/L N-n-octylaninine from 0.013 to 0.05 mol/L sodium succinate at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The extracted metal ion has been recovered by eluting with 25.0 mL of 0.05 mol/L hydrochloric acid and estimated spectrophotometrically with aurintricarboxylic acid. The effects of the acid concentration, the reagent concentration, the flow rate and the eluting agents have been investigated. The log-log plots of distribution coefficient (KdAl(III)) versus N-n-octylaniline concentrationin 0.005 and 0.007 mol/L sodium succinate gave theslopes 0.5 and 0.7 respectively and showed theprobable composition of theextracted species was 1:1 (metal to amine ratio) and the nature of extracted species is [RR''NH2+ Al succinate2-] org. .The extraction of aluminium(III) was carried out in the presence of various ions to ascertain the tolerance limit of individual ions. Aluminium(III) has been separated from multicomponent mixtures, pharmaceutical samples and synthetic mixtures corresponding to alloys. A scheme for mutual separation of aluminium(III), indium(III), gallium(III) and thallium(III) has been developed by using suitable masking agents. The method is fast, accurate and precise.  相似文献

Extraction of gallium(III), indium(III) and thallium(III) with n-octylaniline in chloroform at various concentrations of hydrogen halide acids (HCl, HBr, HI) has been studied and a scheme for their separation proposed. The procedure can be successfully applied to the separation and determination of gallium in presence of mercury, bismuth, manganese, zinc and lead; indium in presence of bismuth, antimony, lead, mercury, cadmium and zinc; and thallium in presence of mercury, cadmium, manganese, aluminium, tin and antimony. The advantage of the method is that the reagent can be recovered for reuse. The method is simple, rapid, and effects clear-cut separation.  相似文献

A comparative study of the adsorbability of Cd(II), Ni(II), Mn(II), Ga(III), La(III), Mo(VI) and bromide from aqueous acetic acid solutions on' Dowex 1-X8, 100–200 mesh, in the acetate and chloride forms, proved that chloride ions are indispensable for high adsorption from concentrated acetic acid solutions. A study of the adsorption isotherms of Ni(II), Mn(II) and Cd(II) on the acetate-form resin from acetic acid-hydrochloric acid solutions, showed that these elements form anionic complexes. The Kd values on RCl-exchanger, for a given acetic acid concentration, were highly dependent on the total exchange capacity of the resin. A simplified anion-exchange separation procedure in aqueous acetic acid was developed, with an adsorption step from a mixture of acetic and hydrochloric acids.  相似文献

Summary Systematic studies of gallium on Dowex-21K in malonate media are reported. On the basis of the value of the elution constant (E) it was separated from large number of metal ions. By selective sorption it was separated from the alkalis, alkaline earths, bismuth, thallium (I), mercury (II), iron (II) and germanium (IV). With water as eluant it was separated from cobalt, nickel, zinc, manganese and palladium, with ammonium chloride it was possible to separate it from copper, iron and vanadium, and with a specific eluant it was separated from lead and zirconium. Finally the sequential separation of gallium from thallium, aluminium and indium was accomplished.  相似文献

The new tetra-non-peripherally benzenesulfonic acid-substituted hydrophilic gallium chloride and indium chloride phthalocyanine complexes have been synthesized by cyclotetramerization of 4-(2,3-dicyanophenyl)benzenesulfonic acid (1). The newly synthesized phthalocyanines have been characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, proton nuclear magnetic resonance, mass and UV–vis spectroscopy techniques. The water-soluble gallium(III) phthalocyanine derivative (2) was aggregated in aqueous media but was fully disaggregated in the presence of a surfactant Triton X-100. The incorporation of sulfonate moieties of the phthalocyanine macrocycle provides hydrophilic character to the new compounds, which is useful for drug administration and serves as crucial in PDT application. So, the photochemical properties (singlet oxygen quantum yields and photodegradation quantum yields) and photophysical properties (fluorescence behavior) of the complexes were reported in different solutions (DMSO and water). The results of spectral measurements showed that both np-GaPc (2) and np-InPc (3) can be used as sensitizers in PDT because of their singlet oxygen efficiencies.  相似文献

Using 1-octanol/octane mixed solvents, the extraction of aluminum(III), gallium(III) and indium(III) with 8-quinolinol was carried out at 25 degrees C. The formation constants of the respective metal(III) 8-quinolinolates in the aqueous phase and their partition constants between the mixed solvents and water were determined based on an analysis of the extraction equilibria. The relationship between the partition constants of 8-quinolinol and its complexes was analyzed by the regular solution theory. The molar volumes of aluminum(III), gallium(III) and indium(III) 8-quinolinolates, calculated from the present results, suggest that the electrostriction effect functions in complex forming. It has been found that octane/1-octanol mixed solvents were available not only for the extraction of metal ions, but also for determining the formation constants of these metal 8-quinolinolates in the aqueous phase and their partition constants.  相似文献

The processes were studied of the solvent extraction of the ions of triply-charged trace elements including scandium, indium, gallium, and yttrium, as well as iron, with N-octyl-N,N-bis(dihexylphosphinylmethyl) amine solution in toluene, chloroform or methylene chloride from hydrochloric, nitric or perchloric acids aqueous solutions. The metals extraction dependence on the acid concentration showed that the best results were reached using perchloric acid. The calculation of partition coefficients of metals allowed us to reveal a high selectivity of the scandium extraction. The prospects of using the investigated bisphosphinylamine in the technology of extraction, concentration and separation of the trace metals ions was concluded.  相似文献

Distribution ratios are given for the extraction of gallium-(III), indium(III) and thallium(III) from aqueous solutions of hydrobromic acid into di-isopropy ether and isobutyl methyl ketone. Based on the results obtained, a scheme is presented for the quantitative separation of these elements from each other by liquid-liquid partition chromatography. The effect of a number of other metal ions upon the separation is also studied. The separation method has been applied to the analysis of a series of lead-indium alloys.  相似文献
