A highly sensitive mechanized method has been developed for the determination of mercury in milk by atomic fluorescence spectrometry (AFS). Samples were sonicated for 10 min in an ultrasound water bath in the presence of 8% (v/v) aqua regia, 2% (v/v) antifoam A and 1% (m/v) hydroxilamine hydrochloride, and after that, they were treated with 8 mmol l−1 KBr and 1.6 mmol l−1 KBrO3 in an hydrochloric medium. Atomic fluorescence measurements were made by multicommutation, which provides a fast alternative in quality control analysis, due to the easy treatment of a large number of samples (approximately 70 h−1), and is an environmentally friendly procedure, which involves a waste generation of only 94.5 ml h−1 as compared with the 605 ml h−1 obtained by using continuous AFS measurements. The limit of detection found was 0.011 ng g−1 Hg in the original sample. The method provided a relative standard deviation of 3.4% for five independent analysis of a sample containing 0.30 ng g−1 Hg. To validate the accuracy of the method, a certified reference material NIST-1459 (non-fat milk powder) containing 0.3±0.2 ng g−1 Hg was analysed and a value of 0.27±0.06 ng g−1 Hg was found. A comparison made between data found by the developed procedure and those obtained by microwave-assisted digestion and continuous AFS measurements evidenced a good comparability between these two strategies. Results obtained for commercially available milk samples varied between 0.09 and 0.61 ng g−1 Hg depending on the type of sample and its origin. The confluence of the analytical waste with a 6 mol l−1 NaOH allowed us to reduce the waste generation in a working session from 1 l to 5 g solid residue with a matrix of Fe(OH)3 which contributes to the deactivation of traces of heavy metals presents in the samples that does not form volatile hydrides.  相似文献

A modified automated on-line hyphenated system for simultaneous inorganic ionic mercury (Hg2+) and monomethylmercury (MeHg+) analysis by hydride generation (HG) or ethylation (Eth), cryofocussing, gas chromatography (GC) separation and atomic fluorescence spectrometry (AFS) detection has been improved. Both derivatization methods are investigated with respect to the chromatographic and analytical performances. They can be both affected by interferences when the AFS detection system is used. Water vapor removal using a soda lime moisture trap improves significantly the chromatographic performances, the reproducibility and the detection limits for Hg2+ and MeHg+ analyzed with both methods. For ethylation (Eth) derivatization, a scattering interference generated from low-quality ethylation reagent has also been eliminated. For HG, improved detection limits are 0.13 ng l−1 and 0.01 ng l−1 for Hg2+ and MeHg+, respectively (0.1 l water sample), and reproducibility are 5% for Hg2+ (20 ng l−1) and MeHg+ (5 ng l−1). Improved detection limits for Eth are 0.22 ng g−1 for Hg2+ and 0.02 ng g−1 for MeHg+ (1 g dry sediment sample) and the reproducibility are 5-6% for Hg2+ and MeHg+ (1-2 ng g−1).  相似文献

A simplified micelle-mediated extraction methodology for the preconcentration of ultratrace levels of cadmium as a prior step to its determination by cold vapor atomic absorption spectrometry (CV-AAS) has been developed. The methodology is based on the cloud point extraction (CPE) of cadmium at pH 8 by using the non-ionic surfactant polyethyleneglycolmono-p-nonylphenylether (PONPE 7.5) without adding any chelating agent. Cadmium cold vapor was generated from 2 ml of the extracted surfactant-rich phase by means of sodium tetrahydroborate (3%, w/v) as a reducing agent and hydrochloric acid (0.2 mol l−1) as a carrier solution. Several important variables that affect the cloud point extraction and cold vapor cadmium generation efficiency were investigated and optimized. The preconcentration of only 50 ml of solution in the presence of 0.06% (v/v) PONPE 7.5 gives an enhancement factor of 62. The calibration graph using the preconcentration system was linear in the range of 4-100 ng l−1 with a correlation coefficient of 0.9992. Detection limit (3 s) obtained in the optimal conditions was 0.56 ng l−1. The relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) for six replicate determinations at 20 ng l−1 Cd level was 3.2%. The proposed method was successfully applied to the ultratrace determination of cadmium in water samples.  相似文献

In this article, a new ligandless solidified floating organic drop microextraction (LL-SFODME) method has been developed for preconcentration of trace amount of cadmium as a prior step to its determination by flow injection-flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FI-FAAS). The methodology is based on the SFODME of cadmium with 1-dodecanol in the absence of chelating agent. Several factors affecting the microextraction efficiency, such as, pH, sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (SDBS) concentration, extraction time, stirring rate and temperature were investigated and optimized. Under optimized experimental conditions an enhancement factor of 205 was obtained for 100 mL of sample solution. The calibration graph was linear in the range of 1.0-25.0 ng mL−1, the limit of detection (3s) was 0.21 ng mL−1 and the limit of quantification (10s) was 0.62 ng mL−1. The relative standard deviation (RSD) for 10 replicate measurements of 10 ng mL−1 cadmium was 4.7%. The developed method was successfully applied to the extraction and determination of cadmium in standard and several water samples and satisfactory results were obtained.  相似文献

A simple and fast analytical procedure has been developed for the determination of As, Sb, Se, Te and Bi in milk samples by hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry (HG-AFS). Samples were treated with aqua regia for 10 min in an ultrasound water bath and pre-reduced with KBr for total Se and Te determination or with KI and ascorbic acid for total As and Sb, the determination of Bi being possible in all with or without pre-reduction. Slurries of samples, in the presence of antifoam A, were treated with NaBH4 in HCl medium to obtain the corresponding hydrides, and AFS measurements were processed in front of external calibrations prepared and measured in the same way as samples. Results obtained by the developed procedure compare well with those found after microwave-assisted complete digestion of samples. The proposed method is simple and fast, and only 1 ml of milk is needed. The values obtained for detection limit are 2.5, 1.6, 3, 6 and 7 ng l−1 for As, Sb, Se, Te and Bi respectively in the diluted samples, with average relative standard deviation values of 3.8, 3.1, 1.9, 6.4 and 1.2% for three independent analysis of a series of commercially available samples of different origin. Data found in Spanish market samples varied from 3.2±0.3 to 11.3±0.2 ng g−1 As, from 3.1±0.2 to 11.6±0.4 ng g−1 Sb, from 10.7±0.5 to 25.5±0.4 ng g−1 Se, from 0.9±0.2 to 9.4±0.6 ng g−1 Te and from 11.5±0.1 to 27.7±0.4 ng g−1 Bi.  相似文献

A simple method of determining ultra-trace Au in natural water was presented by using graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometry (GFAAS) after in situ enrichment with thiol cotton fiber (TCF). The sample solution was adjusted to pH 1.5-2.0 with HCl, then the water sample was passed through a column packed with 0.10-0.20 g TCF and the flow rate was controlled at 20-40 ml min−1. The effects of interferences, such as complexing and oxidizing agents and other elements adsorbed on TCF were overcome by chemical treatments prior to the desorption of Au. The adsorbed Au was adsorbed with 2.0 ml hot acid, then it was extracted with 1.00 ml methyl isobutylketone (MIBK). For a 5 l water sample, the detection limit of Au is 0.02 ng l−1. The relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) for the determination of 1.44 ng l−1 Au was 9.4%.The method was applied to determine ultra-trace Au both in suspended phase and soluble phase in natural water, the concentrations of total Au in natural water samples range from 0.51 to 67.82 ng l−1. The recovery of added 0.50-6.00 ng l−1 Au was 80-95%. The method is useful in prospecting for Au deposits by means of hydrogeochemical methods. The enrichment is carried out in the field, and then the determination of Au is completed later in the laboratory.  相似文献

A fiber-in-tube microextraction protocol was developed and coupled with gas chromatography-electron capture detector (GC-ECD) for determination of trace hexachlorocyclohexanes (HCHs) in water samples. The developed technique was performed by immersing a PTFE fiber-packed and organic solvent-filled PTFE tube in the stirred aqueous solution. Extraction took place between the solvent permeated fibers and sample solution. The extract was then analyzed by GC-ECD. The effects of fiber quantity, extraction time, agitation, addition of salt and pH of sample solution were investigated in detail. Extraction of the analytes in 8 ml aqueous solution for 20 min yielded enrichment factors of 221-538. The limits of detection (S/N = 3) and the limits of quantitation (S/N = 8) were 2-12 ng l−1 and 6-32 ng l−1, respectively. The precision (R.S.D.s, n = 5) was 0.1% for retention time and 1.8-4.8% for peak height. The developed methodology was applied to the determination of trace HCHs in local river water samples.  相似文献

A new method using a microcolumn packed with YPA4 chelating resin as solid-phase extractor has been developed for the separation and preconcentration of trace Hg prior to its measurement by GFAAS with Pd as a permanent modifier. Various parameters such as the amount of the modifier, pH, sample flow rate, the concentration and volume of eluent have been studied in order to find the best conditions for the determination of mercury. The detection limit of the method (3σ) for Hg based on an enrichment factor of 100 was 0.2 ng ml−1. A characteristic mass of 114 pg was obtained for mercury using Pd as a permanent modifier. The relative standard deviation was 2.8% at the 10 ng ml−1 level (n = 5). The method has been applied to the determination of trace mercury in environmental water samples and the recoveries for the spiked samples are in the range of 91-105%.  相似文献

The analytical method for the determination of phosphorus in ultrapurified water was developed. Ultrapurified water was evaporated to concentrate phosphorus and the final sample volume for analysis was 10 ml. In 0.55 mol l−1 HCl, orthophosphate forms molybdophosphate, and then the molybdophosphate forms ion associate with Malachite Green (MG), which can be collected on a tiny membrane filter (diameter: 5 mm, and effective filtering diameter: 2 mm). After the ion associate on the membrane filter is dissolved together with the membrane filter in 1 ml of methyl cellosolve (MC), the absorbance of MC solution is measured at 627 nm by a flow injection-spectrophotometric detection technique. When 10 ml of the sample solution was used for the procedures and absorbance measurement, the calibration graph is linear up to about 500 ng l−1 of phosphorus and the detection limit was 8 ng l−1 (S/N=3). For the determination of phosphorus in an ultrapurified water, 10-40 ml of sample solutions were transferred into poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (PTFE) beaker and evaporated to 5 ml or to dryness. To them, 0.003 mol l−1 HCl was added to get 10 ml of final solution, which was used as sample. Phosphate is determined by comparing the slope of the varied sample volume after evaporation/concentration with a slope of the standard calibration graph (a slope comparison method: SCM). The SCM enables to evaluate the concentration of phosphate in ultrapurified waters more sensitively and accurately.  相似文献

A sensitive procedure has been developed for selenium and tellurium determination in milk by hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry (HG-AFS) after microwave-assisted sample digestion. The method provides sensitivity values of 1591 and 997 fluorescence units ng−1 ml−1 with detection limits of 0.005 and 0.015 ng ml−1 for Se and Te, respectively. The application of the developed methodology to the analysis of cow milk samples of the Spanish market evidenced the presence of concentration ranges from 11.1 to 26.0 ng ml−1 for Se, and from 1.04 to 9.7 ng ml−1 for Te having found a good comparability with data obtained after dry-ashing of samples.  相似文献

The present work describes a sequential injection analysis (SIA) system adapted to direct analysis of oil samples. In this way, the flow system was designed by incorporation, in the SIA system, of an injection valve that was responsible for the sample insertion. With the developed sampling strategy the sample pre-treatment outside the flow system is avoided and also the problems associated with viscous samples in flow systems. The developed SIA system was applied to the determination of iron (Fe(III)) in edible oil samples and was based on the formation of a red complex (λ = 510 nm) between Fe(III) and thiocyanate in organic medium. A mixture of methanol:chloroform (85:15) was used as carrier solution and possible refractive index associated with the spectrophotometric detection was avoided by introduction of a mixing chamber in the flow system. The presented methodology produced 4.2 ml of effluent and consumed 150 μl of sample and 0.95 mg of thiocyanate per determination.Linear calibration plots were obtained for Fe(III) concentrations up to 25 mg l−1 and the detection limit of the determination was 0.31 mg l−1. The developed methodology exhibited a good precision, with an R.S.D. < 3.5% (n = 15) and a determination frequency of 20 determinations h−1. The results of the analysis were evaluated by recovery studies (96.5-104.5%) and by the analysis of two AOCS reference samples.  相似文献

An integrated electrochemical hydride generation cell, mainly composed of three components (a gas liquid separator, a graphite tube cathode and a reticulate Pt wire anode), was laboratory constructed and employed for the detection of arsenic by coupling to atomic fluorescence spectrometry. This integrated cell was free of ion-exchange membrane and individual anolyte, with the virtues of low-cost, easy assembly and environmental-friendly. Using flow injection mode, the sample throughput could come to 120 h−1 attributed to the small dimension of the cathode chamber. The operating conditions for the electrochemical hydride generation of arsenic were investigated in detail and the potential interferences from oxygen or various ions were also evaluated. Under the optimized conditions, no obvious oxygen quenching effects were observed. The limit of detection of As (III) for the sample blank solution was 0.2 ng mL−1 (3σ) and the relative standard deviation was 3.1% for nine consecutive measurements of 5 ng mL−1 As (III) standard solution. The calibration curve was linear up to 100 ng mL−1. The accuracy of the method was verified by the determination of arsenic in the reference materials GBW08517 (Laminaria Japonica Aresch) and GBW10023 (Porphyra crispata) and the developed method was successfully applied to determine trace amounts of arsenic in edible seaweeds.  相似文献

An electrochemical preconcentration at a controlled potential on the electrode in a flow-through mode followed by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometric (GFAAS) detection is proposed for determination of trace amounts of palladium. After electrolysis the polarization of the electrodes was changed and deposited metal was dissolved electrochemically in the presence of an appropriate stripping reagent. Conditions for the electrodeposition, such as pH of the solutions, a deposition potential, dissolution potential and a composition of stripping solution were optimised. The graphite electrode (GE) and glassy carbon electrode (GCE) were tested for the palladium reduction process. The detection limit of 0.05 ng ml−1 Pd (1 pg) was obtained after palladium preconcentration on the GCE and dissolution with 0.2 mol l−1 thiourea in 0.1 mol l−1 HCl followed by GFAAS detection. The method was applied for the determination of palladium in spiked tap water and road dust samples.  相似文献

A new method for solid-phase extraction and preconcentration of trace amounts Hg(II) from environmental samples was developed by using sodium dodecyle sulphate-coated magnetite nanoparticles (SDS-coated Fe3O4 NPs) as a new extractant. The procedure is based on the adsorption of the analyte, as mercury-Michler's thioketone [Hg2(TMK)4]2+ complex on the negatively charged surface of the SDS-coated Fe3O4 NPs and then elution of the preconcentrated mercury from the surface of the SDS-coated Fe3O4 NPs prior to its determination by flow injection inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry. The effects of pH, TMK concentration, SDS and Fe3O4 NPs amounts, eluent type, sample volume and interfering ions on the recovery of the analyte were investigated. Under optimized conditions, the calibration curve was linear in the range of 0.2-100 ng mL−1 with r2 = 0.9994 (n = 8). The limit of detection for Hg(II) determination was 0.04 ng mL−1. Also, relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) for the determination of 2 and 50 ng mL−1 of Hg(II) was 5.2 and 4.7% (n = 6), respectively. Due to the quantitative extraction of Hg(II) from 1000 mL of the sample solution an enhancement factor as large as 1230-fold can be obtained. The proposed method has been validated using a certified reference materials, and also the method has been applied successfully for the determination of Hg(II) in aqueous samples.  相似文献

A simple and rapid method for the highly sensitive determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in water was developed. Benzo[a]pyrene, benzo[k]fluoranthene, perylene, and pyrene in water were concentrated into sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)-alumina admicelles. The collection was performed by adding SDS and alumina particles into the sample solution at pH 2. After gentle mixing, the resulting suspension was passed through a membrane filter to collect the SDS admicelles containing highly concentrated PAHs. The filter was placed on a slide glass and then covered admicellar layer with a fused silica glass plate before setting in a fluorescence spectrometer. Benzo[a]pyrene, benzo[k]fluoranthene, perylene, and pyrene were selectively determined by the synchronous fluorescence scan (SFS) analysis with keeping wavelength intervals between excitation and emission to 98, 35, 29, and 45 nm, respectively. Because of the minimum spectral overlapping, 1-40 ng l−1 of benzo[a]pyrene, benzo[k]fluoranthene, and perylene as well as 10-150 ng l−1 of pyrene were selectively determined with eliminating the interferences of other 12 PAHs. The detection limits were 0.3 ng l−1 for benzo[a]pyrene, benzo[k]fluoranthene, and perylene, and 1 ng l−1 for pyrene. They were 2-3 orders of magnitude lower than the detection limits in normal aqueous micellar solutions. The application to water analysis was studied.  相似文献

An electrochemical cold vapor generation system with polyaniline modified graphite electrode as cathode material was developed for Hg (II) determination by coupling with atomic fluorescence spectrometry. This electrochemical cold vapor generation system with polyaniline/graphite electrode exhibited higher sensitivity; excellent stability and lower memory effect compared with graphite electrode electrochemical cold vapor generation system. The relative standard deviation was 2.7% for eleven consecutive measurements of 2 ng mL− 1 Hg (II) standard solution and the mercury limit of detection for the sample blank solution was 1.3 рg mL− 1 (3σ). The accuracy of the method was evaluated through analysis of the reference materials GBW09101 (Human hair) and GBW 08517 (Laminaria Japonica Aresch) and the proposed method was successfully applied to the analysis of human hairs.  相似文献

An on-line flow injection (FI) preconcentration-electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) method is developed for trace determination of chromium in drinking water samples by sorption on a conical minicolumn packed with activated carbon (AC) at pH 5.0. The chromium was removed from the minicolumn with 1.0% (v/v) nitric acid. An enrichment factor (EF) of 35-fold for a sample volume of 10 ml was obtained. The detection limit (DL) value for the preconcentration method proposed was 3.0 ng l−1. The precision for 10 replicate determinations at the 0.5 μg l−1 Cr level was 4.0% relative standard deviation (R.S.D.), calculate with the peak heights obtained. The calibration graph using the preconcentration system for chromium was linear with a correlation coefficient of 0.9992 at levels near the detection limits up to at least 50 μg l−1. The method was successfully applied to the determination of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in drinking water samples.  相似文献

A flow injection on-line sorption system was developed for the separation and preconcentration of traces of Ag, Cd, Co, Ni, Pb, U and Y from natural water samples with subsequent detection by ICP TOF MS. Simultaneous preconcentration of the analytes was achieved by complexation with the chelating reagent 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoylpyrazol-5-one immobilized on the inner walls of a (200 cm × 0.5 mm) PTFE knotted reactor. The analytes were eluted and transported to an axial ICP TOF MS system with 1% (v/v) HNO3 containing 0.3 μg l−1 of Rh as an internal standard using ultrasonic nebulization. The detection limits (3σ) varied from 0.3 ng l−1 for Y to 15.2 ng l−1 for Ni and the precision (R.S.D.) was better than 4%. Using a loading time of 90 s and a sample flow rate of 4.5 ml min−1, enhancement factors of 3-14 were obtained for the different analytes in comparison with their direct determination by ICP TOF MS with ultrasonic nebulization without preconcentration. The accuracy of the method was demonstrated by analysis of water based certified reference materials.  相似文献

This study established a flow injection (FI) methodology for the determination of the total phenolic content in plant-derived beverages based on soluble manganese(IV) chemiluminescence (CL) detection. It was found that mixing polyphenols with acidic soluble manganese(IV) in the presence of formaldehyde evoked chemiluminescence. Based on this finding, a new FI-CL method was developed for the estimation of the total content of phenolic compounds (expressed as milligrams of gallic acid equivalent per litre of drink) in a variety of wine, tea and fruit juice samples. The proposed method is sensitive with a detection limit of 0.02 ng mL−1 (gallic acid), offers a wide linear dynamic range (0.5-400 ng mL−1) and high sample throughput (247 samples h−1). The relative standard deviation for 15 measurements was 3.8% for 2 ng mL−1 and 0.45% for 10 ng mL−1 of gallic acid. Analysis of 36 different samples showed that the results obtained by the proposed FI-CL method correlate highly with those obtained by spectrophotometric methods commonly used for the evaluation of the total phenolic/antioxidant level. However, the FI-CL method was found to be far simpler, more rapid and selective, with almost no interference from non-phenolic components of the samples examined.  相似文献

A sensitive and selective method was developed for the determination of traces of manganese in urine using on-line electrochemical preconcentration followed by flame atomic absorption spectrometry detection. A home made flow-through polypropylene cell (4.5 cm long × 0.8 cm diameter filled with glass marbles) with an effective inner volume of 0.5 ml containing a working and a counter electrode, both of glassy carbon and a Pt pseudo reference electrode was located in a flow injection manifold specially designed for the purpose of this work. The manganese was deposited from buffer solution of NH3/NH4Cl at pH 9.00 through an oxidizing process at a current of 400 mA during 7 min. A flow of HCl 0.1 mol l−1 at 4 ml min−1 through the cell, chemically dissolved the deposit. A small portion (15 μl) of the concentrate was introduced in a continuously flowing system by means of a timing device and was then carried to the detector for the manganese quantification. All electrochemical and spectroscopic variables as well as possible interferences in both systems were systematically studied. The relative standard deviations for ten consecutive measurements of manganese solutions of 2.0 and 20 μg l−1 were of 2.3 and 1.5%, respectively, while for a sample processed five times was less then 5%. The accuracy of the developed procedure was evaluated by adding known amounts of manganese standard to urine samples and following the whole procedure. Recoveries within the range 97.2-102.8% were obtained. To further prove the accuracy, a Seronorm Trace Elements in Urine, Batch 403125 sample with a reported concentration of 13 μg Mn l−1 was also analyzed. The experimental value obtained was of 12.7 ± 0.1 μg l−1, which does not differ significantly from the reported amount (p < 0.05). A preconcentration factor of 40, a linear range between 0.015 and 60 μg l−1 and a limit of detection of 15 ng l−1 permitted the determination of manganese in real urine samples from non-exposed subjects in the range 0.5-2.8 μg l−1.  相似文献
