The Fourier transform infrared (4000–400 cm−1) and Fourier transform Raman (3500–500 cm−1) spectra of 4‐hydroxy‐3‐(3‐oxo‐1‐phenylbutyl)‐2H‐1‐benzopyran‐2‐one (Warfarin) have been measured and calculated. The structure optimization has been made using density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Complete vibrational assignments of the observed spectra have been compared with theoretical wavenumbers. The wavenumber increasing in the methyl group shows the electronic hyperconjugation effect. The natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis reveals the hyperconjugation interaction and the intramolecular hydrogen bonding. The first‐order hyperpolarizability has been calculated. Quantum chemical calculations of energies, geometries and vibrational wavenumbers of 2,4‐difluorophenol (2,4‐DFP) were carried out by using ab initio HF and density functional theory (DFT/B3LYP) methods with 6‐311G(d,p) as basis set. The optimized geometrical parameters obtained by HF and DFT calculations are in good agreement with related molecules. The best level of theory in order to reproduce the experimental wavenumbers is the B3LYP method with the 6‐311G(d,p) basis set. The difference between the observed and scaled wavenumber values of most of the fundamentals is very small. A detailed interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra of 2,4‐DFP is also reported. The entropy of the title compound was also performed at HF/6‐311G(d,p) and B3LYP/6‐311G(d,p) levels of theory. The isotropic chemical shift computed by 1H, 13C NMR analyses also shows good agreement with experimental observations. The theoretical spectrograms for FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of the title molecule have been constructed. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The Fourier‐transform infrared spectrum of 3‐hydroxy‐2‐naphthoic acid hydrazide (3H2NAH) was recorded in the region 4000–400 cm−1. The Fourier‐transform Raman spectrum of 3H2NAH was also recorded in the region 3500–10 cm−1. Quantum chemical calculations of energies, geometrical structure and vibrational wavenumbers of 3H2NAH were carried out by density functional theory (DFT/B3LYP) method with 6‐31G(d,p) as basis set. The difference between the observed and scaled wavenumber values of most of the fundamentals is very small. The values of the electric dipole moment (µ) and the first‐order hyperpolarizability (β) of the investigated molecule were computed using ab initio quantum mechanical calculations. The UV spectrum was measured in ethanol solution. The calculation results also show that the 3H2NAH molecule might have microscopic nonlinear optical (NLO) behavior with non‐zero values. A detailed interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra of 3H2NAH is also reported based on total energy distribution (TED). The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies shows that charge transfer occur within the molecule. The theoretical FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra for the title molecule have also been constructed. FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of benzoic acid (BA) and 3,5‐dichloro salicylic acid (SA) have been recorded in the regions of 4000–400 and 4000–50 cm−1 respectively. The spectra were interpreted with the aid of normal coordinate analysis following the full structure optimizations and force field calculations based on density functional theory (DFT) using standard B3LYP6‐31G** method and basis set combinations. The DFT force field transformed to natural internal coordinates was corrected by a well‐established set of scale factors that were found to be transferable to the title compounds. The infrared and Raman spectra were also predicted from the calculated intensities. Comparison of the simulated spectra with the experimental spectra provides important information about the ability of the computational method to describe the vibrational modes. Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) and FT‐Raman spectra of 4‐fluoro‐N‐(2‐hydroxy‐4‐nitrophenyl)benzamide were recorded and analyzed. The vibrational wavenumbers and corresponding vibrational assignments were examined theoretically using the Gaussian03 set of quantum chemistry codes. The red‐shift of the NH‐stretching wavenumber in the infrared (IR) spectrum from the computed wavenumber indicates the weakening of the NH bond resulting in proton transfer to the neighboring oxygen atom. The simultaneous IR and Raman activation of the CO‐stretching mode gives the charge transfer interaction through a π‐conjugated path. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

IR and Raman spectra (RS) of polycrystalline 3‐(or 4 or 6)‐methyl‐5‐nitro‐2‐pyridinethione have been measured and analyzed by means of density functional theory (DFT) quantum chemical calculations. The B3LYP/6‐311G(2d,2p) approach has been applied for both the thiol and thione tautomers due to the possibility of the formation of these two thiole forms. Molecular structures of these compounds have been optimized starting from different molecular geometries of the thiol group and thione group. Two conformations of the 2‐mercaptopyridine, trans and cis, have been taken into account. It was shown that the studied compounds appear in the solid state in the thione form. The effect of the hydrogen‐bond formation in the studied compounds has been considered. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this work, the Fourier transform infrared and Raman spectra of 2‐bromonicotinic acid and 6‐bromonicotinic acid (abbreviated as 2‐BrNA and 6‐BrNA, C6H4BrNO2) have been recorded in the region 4000–400 and 3500–50 cm−1. The optimum molecular geometry, normal mode wavenumbers, infrared intensities and Raman scattering activities, corresponding vibrational assignments and intermolecular hydrogen bonds were investigated with the help of B3LYP density functional theory (DFT) method using 6‐311++G(d,p) basis set. Reliable vibrational assignments were made on the basis of total energy distribution (TED) calculated with scaled quantum mechanical (SQM) method. From the calculations, the molecules are predicted to exist predominantly as the C1 conformer. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The solid phase Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and Fourier transform (FT) Raman spectral analysis of 7‐chloro‐3‐methyl‐2H‐1,2,4‐benzothiadiazine 1,1‐dioxide (diazoxide), an antihypertensive agent was carried out along with density functional computations. The optimized geometry, wavenumber and intensity of the vibrational bands of diazoxide were obtained by DFT‐B3LYP level of theory with complete relaxation in the potential energy surface using 6‐31G(d,p) basis set. A complete vibrational assignment aided by the theoretical harmonic frequency analysis has been proposed. The harmonic vibrational wavenumbers calculated have been compared with experimental FTIR and FT Raman spectra. The observed and the calculated wavenumbers are found to be in good agreement. The experimental spectra coincide satisfactorily with those of calculated spectra. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Fourier transform (FT)‐Raman and infrared (IR) spectra of the nonlinear optical (NLO) material bis(4‐nitrophenyl) carbonate were recorded and analyzed. The geometry, first hyperpolarizability and harmonic vibrational wavenumbers were calculated with the help of Becke3–Lee–Yang–Parr density functional theory method. The detailed interpretation of the vibrational spectra was carried out with the aid of normal coordinate analysis following the scaled quantum mechanical force field methodology. The second‐order NLO properties of the molecule were studied by the Kurtz and Perry powder reflection technique. Stability of the molecule arising from hyperconjugative interactions leading to its NLO activity and charge delocalization were analyzed using natural bond orbital analysis. Fourier transform (FT)‐Raman and Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) spectra of 3‐{[(4‐fluorophenyl)methylene]amino}‐2‐phenylquinazolin‐4(3H)‐one were recorded and analyzed. The vibrational wavenumbers of the title compound were computed using the B3LYP/6‐31G* basis and compared with the experimental data. The prepared compound was identified by NMR and mass spectra. The simultaneous IR and Raman activation of the CO stretching mode shows a charge transfer interaction through a π‐conjugated path. The first hyperpolarizability and infrared intensities are reported. The assignments of the normal modes are done by potential energy distribution (PED) calculations. In this work, a combined theoretical and spectroscopic study of binary mixture of liquid o‐chlorobenzaldehyde (OCBZ) is reported using ab initio calculations, Raman and infrared (IR) spectroscopies. The purpose of this study was twofold: firstly, to describe the interaction of OCBZ in terms of bonding energies and preferred geometries; secondly, to characterize the spectroscopic effects on the vibrational modes of OCBZ in the binary mixture of different polar and nonpolar solvents. Ab initio calculations have proven to be a valuable tool for predicting relevant molecular structure and molecular parameters in the intermolecular interactions. The experimental and theoretical study on the structures and vibrations of 5‐fluoro‐salicylic acid and 5‐chloro‐salicylic acid (5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA, C7H5FO3 and C7H5ClO3) is presented. The Fourier transform infrared spectra (4000–400 cm−1) and the Fourier transform Raman spectra (4000–50 cm−1) of the title molecules in the solid phase were recorded. The molecular structures, vibrational wavenumbers, infrared intensities, Raman intensities and Raman scattering activities were calculated for a pair of molecules linked by the intermolecular O H···O hydrogen bond. The geometrical parameters and energies of 5‐FSA and 5ClSA were obtained for all eight conformers/isomers from density functional theory (DFT) (B3LYP) with 6‐311++G(d,p) basis set calculations. The computational results identified the most stable conformer of 5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA as the C1 form. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. The spectroscopic and theoretical results were compared with the corresponding properties for 5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA monomers and dimer of C1 conformer. The optimized bond lengths, bond angles and calculated wavenumbers showed the best agreement with the experimental results. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The first N‐allenyl derivative of trifluoromethanesulfonamide, N‐benzyl‐N‐(allenyl)trifluoromethanesulfonamide ( 1 ), was studied experimentally by the FT‐IR spectroscopy and theoretically at the DFT and MP2 levels of theory. The intramolecular interaction of the nitrogen atom with the triflyl and the allenyl group was studied in comparison with the analogously substituted vinyl derivatives. Compound 1 in heptane solution at 295–183 K exists as an equilibrium mixture of conformational isomers. Protonation at different basic sites in a series of reference molecules is studied theoretically. The central C2 atom of the allenyl group in 1 has the highest proton affinity, which is 16 kcal/mol higher than in the N‐vinyl analogues. The relative ability of the allenyl and vinyl groups to conjugation with an electron‐rich and electron‐deficient nitrogen atom lone electron pair is discussed. From the NBO analysis, the conjugation of the nitrogen lone electron pair with the allenyl group is much stronger than with the vinyl group. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The structure of H‐complexes of dimethylformamide (DMF) with N‐(2,2,2‐trichloro‐1‐hydroxyethyl)‐p‐toluenesulfonamide (1), N‐[1‐(4‐chlorophenylsulfonylamino)‐2,2,2‐trichloro)ethyl]dithiooxamide (2), N,N'‐bis[2,2‐dichloro‐1‐(4‐chlorophenylsulfonylamino)‐2‐phenylethyl]ethanebis(thioamide) (3) and N,N'‐bis[2,2,2‐trichloro‐1‐(phenylsulfonylamino)ethyl]ethanebis(thioamide) (3a) as proton donors was investigated using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and Density Functional Theory calculations. According to calculations, the interaction of DMF with the sulfonamide and thioamide NH groups in the complexes strongly affects the intramolecular H‐bonding in 1–3. From the natural bond orbital analysis, complexation with DMF strongly decreases the energy of the intramolecular N?H · · · S = C bonds, up to their rupture. Variation of the strength of the intra‐ and intermolecular H‐bonds in the complexes is consistent with the calculated frequencies of the NH and OH stretching vibrations, and the analysis of the corresponding bands in the IR spectra allows to suggest the preferable structure of the formed H‐complexes. FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of 4‐chloro‐2‐(3‐chlorophenylcarbamoyl) phenyl acetate were studied. Vibrational wavenumbers and corresponding vibrational assignments were examined theoretically using the Gaussian03 set of quantum chemistry codes and the normal modes are assigned by potential energy distribution (PED) calculations. Simultaneous IR and Raman activation of the CO stretching mode shows the charge transfer interaction through a π‐conjugated path. Optimized geometrical parameters of the title compound are in agreement with the reported values. Analysis of the phenyl ring modes shows that C C stretching mode is equally active as strong bands in both IR and Raman, which can be interpreted as the evidence of intramolecular charge transfer via conjugated ring path and is responsible for hyperpolarizability enhancement leading to nonlinear optical activity. The red‐shift of the NH‐stretching wavenumber in the infrared spectrum from the computed wavenumber indicates the weakening of the NH bond resulting in proton transfer to the neighboring oxygen atom. In this work, we present results of the conformational and vibrational properties of valpromide (Vpd), an amide with antiepileptic activity, studied by IR and Raman spectroscopy at 300 and 77 K, and 300 K, respectively. Experimental data are compared against ab initio calculations performed at B3LYP level with the inclusion of solvatation effects. Experimental results, reinforced by theoretical calculations, point out that Vpd has three conformers on the potential energy surface, with different structures that can be identified in the CO and NH spectral regions. These conformers are defined by different angular arrays of the dihedral angles formed with the CO, C N and C〈 H, C C of the aliphatic chain bonds. The existence of different conformations and structures are discussed on the basis of results derived from electronic localization function (ELF) and natural orbital bond (NBO) analysis. Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) and FT‐Raman spectra of 4‐ethyl‐N‐(2′‐hydroxy‐5′‐nitrophenyl)benzamide were recorded and analyzed. A surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectrum was recorded in silver colloid. The vibrational wavenumbers and corresponding vibrational assignments were examined theoretically using the Gaussian03 set of quantum chemistry codes. The red shift of the NH stretching wavenumber in the infrared spectrum from the computational wavenumber indicates the weakening of the NH bond resulting in proton transfer to the neighboring oxygen atom. The simultaneous IR and Raman activation of the CO stretching mode gives the charge transfer interaction through a π‐conjugated path. The presence of methyl modes in the SERS spectrum indicates the nearness of the methyl group to the metal surface, which affects the orientation and metal molecule interaction. The first hyperpolarizability and predicted infrared intensities are reported. The calculated first hyperpolarizability is comparable with the reported values of similar derivatives and is an attractive subject for future studies of nonlinear optics. Optimized geometrical parameters of the title compound are in agreement with reported structures. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We have synthesized 4‐[N‐phenyl‐N‐(3‐methylphenyl)‐amino]‐benzoic acid (4‐[PBA]) and investigated its molecular vibrations by infrared and Raman spectroscopies as well as by calculations based on the density functional theory (DFT) approach. The Fourier transform (FT) Raman, dispersive Raman and FT‐IR spectra of 4‐[PBA] were recorded in the solid phase. We analyzed the optimized geometric structure and energies of 4‐[PBA] in the ground state. Stability of the molecule arising from hyperconjugative interactions and charge delocalization was studied using natural bond orbital analysis. The results show that change in electron density in the σ* and π* antibonding orbitals and E2 energies confirm the occurrence of intramolecular charge transfer within the molecule. Theoretical calculations were performed at the DFT level using the Gaussian 09 program. Selected experimental bands were assigned and characterized on the basis of the scaled theoretical wavenumbers by their total energy distribution. The good agreement between the experimental and theoretical spectra allowed positive assignment of the observed vibrational absorption bands. Finally, the calculation results were applied to simulate the Raman and IR spectra of the title compound, which show agreement with the observed spectra. In this work, the experimental and theoretical vibrational spectra of N1‐methyl‐2‐chloroaniline (C7H8NCl) were studied. FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of the title molecule in the liquid phase were recorded in the region 4000–400 cm?1 and 3500–50 cm?1, respectively. The structural and spectroscopic data of the molecule in the ground state were calculated by using density functional method (B3LYP) with the 6‐311++G(d,p) basis set. The vibrational frequencies were calculated and scaled values were compared with experimental FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra. The observed and calculated frequencies are found to be in good agreement. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. 13C and 1H NMR chemical shifts results were compared with the experimental values. The optimized geometric parameters (bond lengths and bond angles) were given and are in agreement with the corresponding experimental values of aniline and p‐methyl aniline.
