We consider the linear stability problem for a 3D cylindrically symmetric equilibrium of the relativistic Vlasov–Maxwell system that describes a collisionless plasma. For an equilibrium whose distribution function decreases monotonically with the particle energy, we obtained a linear stability criterion in our previous paper [24]. Here we prove that this criterion is sharp; that is, there would otherwise be an exponentially growing solution to the linearized system. We also treat the considerably simpler periodic D case. The new formulation introduced here is applicable as well to the non-relativistic case, to other symmetries, and to general equilibria.  相似文献

We prove the following theorem: For every fixed α ∈ (0, 2π) the Möbius property of a homeomorphism f: D → D* of domains in C is equivalent to the requirement that each regular tetrad T ? D with Φ(T) = α whose image fT is also a regular tetrad satisfies Φ(fT) = α. In 1994 Haruki and Rassias established this criterion for the Möbius property only in the class of univalent analytic functions f(z).  相似文献

In this note we prove a logarithmically improved regularity criterion in terms of the Besov space norm for the Navier–Stokes equations. The result shows that if a mild solution u satisfies ${\int_{0}^{T}\frac{\|u (t,\cdot)\|_{{\dot{B}}_{\infty,\infty}^{-r}}^{\frac{2}{1-r}}}{1+\ln(e+\| u(t,\cdot)\|_{H^{s}})}\text{d}t < \infty}$ for some 0?≤ r?<?1 and ${s\geq\frac{n}{2}-1}$ , then u is regular at t?=?T.  相似文献

We obtain two new equivalent quasinorms for unweighted isotropic Besov and Lizorkin-Triebel spaces in the epigraph of a Lipschitz function. The question on the straightening is studied, i. e., the question on the existence of a diffeomorphism taking the epigraph into a halfspace which preserves the Lizorkin-Triebel spaces of the same indices. A criterion for the straightening is established in terms of dyadic weighted inequality where oscillations of a given function on stretched dyadic cubes are involved.  相似文献

The Kallianpur–Robbins law describes the long term asymptotic behaviour of integrable additive functionals of Brownian motion in the plane. In this paper we prove an almost sure version of this result. It turns out that, differently from many known results, this requires an iterated logarithmic average. A similar result is obtained for the small scales asymptotic by means of an ergodic theorem of Chacon–Ornstein type, which allows an exceptional set of scales. We obtain a criterion for the convergence of the Mellin–Barnes integral representing the solution to a general system of algebraic equations. This yields a criterion for a nonnegative matrix to have positive principal minors. The proof rests on the Nilsson–Passare–Tsikh Theorem about the convergence domain of the general Mellin–Barnes integral, as well as some theorem of a linear algebra on a subdivision of the real space into polyhedral cones.  相似文献

Error estimates are a very important aspect of numerical integration. It is desirable to know what level of truncation error might be expected for a given number of integration points. Here, we determine estimates for the truncation error when Gauss–Legendre quadrature is applied to the numerical evaluation of two dimensional integrals which arise in the boundary element method. Two examples are considered; one where the integrand contains poles, when its definition is extended into the complex plane, and another which contains branch points. In both cases we obtain error estimates which agree with the actual error to at least one significant digit.  相似文献

We prove a blow-up criterion in terms of the upper bound of the density for the strong solution to the 3-D compressible Navier–Stokes equations. The initial vacuum is allowed. The main ingredient of the proof is a priori estimate for an important quantity under the assumption that the density is upper bounded, whose divergence can be viewed as the effective viscous flux.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate nonhomogeneous incompressible Navier–Stokes–Landau–Lifshitz system in two-dimensional (2-D). This system consists of Navier–Stokes equations coupled with Landau–Lifshitz–Gilbert equation, an evolutionary equation for the magnetization vector.
