The participation of hydrogen‐arsenate group (AsO3OH)2− in solid‐state compounds may serve as a model example for explaining and clarifying the behaviour of As and other elements during weathering processes in natural environment. The mineral geminite, a hydrated hydrogen‐arsenate mineral of ideal formula Cu(AsO3OH)·H2O, has been studied by Raman and infrared spectroscopies. Two samples of geminite of different origin were investigated and the spectra proved quite similar. In the Raman spectra of geminite, six bands are observed at 741, 812, 836, 851, 859 and 885 cm−1 (Salsigne, France), and 743, 813, 843, 853, 871 and 885 cm−1 (Jáchymov, Czech Republic). The band at 851/853 cm−1 is assigned to the ν1 (AsO3OH)2− symmetric stretching mode; the other bands are assigned to the ν3 (AsO3OH)2− split triply degenerate antisymmetric stretching mode. Raman bands at 309, 333, 345 and 364/310, 333 and 345 cm−1 are attributed to the ν2 (AsO3OH)2− bending mode, and a set of higher wavenumber bands (in the range 400–500 cm−1) is assigned to the ν4 (AsO3OH)2− split triply degenerate bending mode. A very complex set of overlapping bands is observed in both the Raman and infrared spectra. Raman bands are observed at 2289, 2433, 2737, 2855, 3235, 3377, 3449 and 3521/2288, 2438, 2814, 3152, 3314, 3448 and 3521 cm−1. Two Raman bands at 2289 and 2433/2288 and 2438 cm−1 are ascribed to the strong hydrogen bonded water molecules. The Raman bands at 3235, 3305 and 3377/3152 and 3314 cm−1 may be assigned to the ν OH stretching vibrations of water molecules. Two bands at 3449 and 3521/3448 and 3521 cm−1 are assigned to the OH stretching vibrations of the (AsO3OH)2− units. The lengths of the O H···O hydrogen bonds vary in the range 2.60–2.94 Å (Raman) and 2.61–3.07 Å (infrared). Two Raman and infrared bands in the region of the bending vibrations of the water molecules prove that structurally non‐equivalent water molecules are present in the crystal structure of geminite. In this work, the experimental and theoretical vibrational spectra of N1‐methyl‐2‐chloroaniline (C7H8NCl) were studied. FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of the title molecule in the liquid phase were recorded in the region 4000–400 cm?1 and 3500–50 cm?1, respectively. The structural and spectroscopic data of the molecule in the ground state were calculated by using density functional method (B3LYP) with the 6‐311++G(d,p) basis set. The vibrational frequencies were calculated and scaled values were compared with experimental FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra. The observed and calculated frequencies are found to be in good agreement. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. 13C and 1H NMR chemical shifts results were compared with the experimental values. The optimized geometric parameters (bond lengths and bond angles) were given and are in agreement with the corresponding experimental values of aniline and p‐methyl aniline. Polarised IR and Raman spectra of Na3Li(MoO4)2· 6H2O single crystal were measured. Discussion of the results is based on the factor group approach for the trigonal R 3c(C3v6) space group with Z = 2. The assignment of the observed bands was performed on the basis of their polarisation behaviour and literature data. The obtained results for the spontaneous Raman scattering were used in the analysis of the stimulated Raman spectra of the material studied—a new Raman laser crystal. The promoting modes of the stimulated effect were identified. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We report on the infrared (IR) and Raman studies of the three isostructural quasi‐one‐dimensional cation radical salts of 3,4‐dimethyl‐tetrathiafulvalene (o‐DMTTF)2X (X = Cl, Br, and I), which all exhibit metallic properties at room temperature and undergo transitions to a semiconducting state in two steps: a soft metal‐to‐semiconductor regime change in the temperature region Tρ = 5–200 K and then a sharp phase transition at about TMI = 50 K. Polarized IR reflectance spectra (700–16 000 cm−1) and Raman spectra (50–3500 cm−1, excitation λ = 632.8 nm) of single crystals were measured as a function of temperature (T = 5–300 K) to assess the eventual formation of a charge‐ordered state below 50 K. Additionally, the temperature dependence of the IR absorption spectra of powdered crystals in KBr discs was also studied. The Raman spectra and especially the bands related to the CC stretching vibration of o‐DMTTF provide unambiguous evidence of uniform charge distribution on o‐DMTTF down to the lowest temperatures, without any modification below 50 K. However, the temperature dependence of Raman spectra indicates a regime change below about 200 K. Temperature dependence of both electronic dispersion and vibrational features observed in the IR spectra also clearly confirms the regime change below about 200 K and shows the involvement of C H···X hydrogen bonds in the electronic localization; some spectral changes can be also related with the phase transition at 50 K. Additionally, using density functional theory methods, the normal vibrational modes of the neutral o‐DMTTF0 and cationic o‐DMTTF+ species, as well as their theoretical IR and Raman spectra, were calculated. The theoretical data were compared with the experimental IR and Raman spectra of neutral o‐DMTTF molecule. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Raman and infrared spectra of calcurmolite were recorded and interpreted from the uranium and molybdenum polyhedra, water molecules and hydroxyls point of view. U O bond lengths in uranyl and Mo O bond lengths in MoO6 octahedra were calculated and O H…O bond lengths were inferred from the spectra. The mineral calcurmolite is characterised by bands assigned to the vibrations of the UO2 units. These units provide intense Raman bands at 930, 900 and 868 and 823 cm−1. These bands are attributed to the anti‐symmetric and symmetric stretching modes of the UO2 units, respectively. Raman bands at 794, 700, 644, 378 and 354 cm−1 are attributed to vibrations of the MoO4 units. The bands at 693 and 668 cm−1 are assigned to the anti‐symmetric and symmetric Ag modes of the terminal MO2 units. Similar bands are observed at 797 and 773 cm−1 for koechlinite and 798 and 775 cm−1 for lindgrenite. It is probable that some of the bands in the low wavenumber region are attributable to the bending modes of MO2 units. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Vibrational spectral analysis was carried out for 4‐methoxy‐2‐methyl benzoic acid (4M2MBA) by using Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) (solid, gas phase) and FT‐Raman spectroscopy in the range of 400–4000 and 10–3500 cm−1 respectively. The effects of molecular association through O H···O hydrogen bonding have been described by the single dimer structure. The theoretical computational density functional theory (DFT) and Hatree‐Fock (HF) method were performed at 6–311++G(d,p) levels to derive the equilibrium geometry, vibrational wavenumbers, infrared intensities and Raman scattering activities. The scaled theoretical wavenumbers were also shown to be in good agreement with experimental data. The first‐order hyperpolarizability (β0) of this novel molecular system and related properties (β, α0 and Δα) of 4M2MBA are calculated using the B3LYP/cc‐pvdz basis set, based on the finite‐field approach. A detailed interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra of 4M2MBA is reported. The theoretical spectrograms for FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of the title molecule were also constructed and compared with the experimental one. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The experimental and theoretical study on the structures and vibrations of 5‐fluoro‐salicylic acid and 5‐chloro‐salicylic acid (5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA, C7H5FO3 and C7H5ClO3) is presented. The Fourier transform infrared spectra (4000–400 cm−1) and the Fourier transform Raman spectra (4000–50 cm−1) of the title molecules in the solid phase were recorded. The molecular structures, vibrational wavenumbers, infrared intensities, Raman intensities and Raman scattering activities were calculated for a pair of molecules linked by the intermolecular O H···O hydrogen bond. The geometrical parameters and energies of 5‐FSA and 5ClSA were obtained for all eight conformers/isomers from density functional theory (DFT) (B3LYP) with 6‐311++G(d,p) basis set calculations. The computational results identified the most stable conformer of 5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA as the C1 form. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. The spectroscopic and theoretical results were compared with the corresponding properties for 5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA monomers and dimer of C1 conformer. The optimized bond lengths, bond angles and calculated wavenumbers showed the best agreement with the experimental results. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The components of the third‐order nonlinear optical susceptibility χ(3) for the 1002‐cm–1 mode of neat benzenethiol have been measured using coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering with continuous‐wave diode pump and Stokes lasers at 785.0 and 852.0 nm, respectively. Values of 2.8 ± 0.3 × 10–12, 2.0 ± 0.2 × 10–12, and 0.8 ± 0.1 × 10–12 cm·g–1·s2 were measured for the xxxx, xxyy, and xyyx components of |3χ(3)|, respectively. We have calculated these quantities using a microscopic model, reproducing the same qualitative trend. The Raman cross‐section σRS for the 1002‐cm–1 mode of neat benzenethiol has been determined to be 3.1 ± 0.6 × 10–29 cm2 per molecule. The polarization of the anti‐Stokes Raman scattering was found to be parallel to that of the pump laser, which implies negligible depolarization. The Raman linewidth (full‐width at half‐maximum) Γ was determined to be 2.4 ± 0.3 cm–1 using normal Stokes Raman scattering. The measured values of σRS and Γ yield a value of 2.1 ± 0.4 × 10–12 cm·g–1·s2 for the resonant component of 3χ(3). A value of 1.9 ± 0.9 × 10–12 cm·g–1·s2 has been deduced for the nonresonant component of 3χ(3). Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Raman spectra of pseudojohannite were studied and related to the structure of the mineral. Observed bands were assigned to the stretching and bending vibrations of (UO2)2+ and (SO4)2− units and of water molecules. The published formula of pseudojohannite is Cu6.5(UO2)8[O8](OH)5[(SO4)4]·25H2O. Raman bands at 805 and 810 cm−1 are assigned to (UO2)2+ stretching modes. The Raman bands at 1017 and 1100 cm−1 are assigned to the (SO4)2− symmetric and antisymmetric stretching vibrations. The three Raman bands at 423, 465 and 496 cm−1 are assigned to the (SO4)2−ν2 bending modes. The bands at 210 and 279 cm−1 are assigned to the doubly degenerate ν2 bending vibration of the (UO2)2+ units. U O bond lengths in uranyl and O H···O hydrogen bond lengths were calculated from the Raman and infrared spectra. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A novel selective synthesis of the unsymmetrically substituted tetrathiafulvalene dimethyltrimethylene‐tetrathiafulvalene (DMtTTF) is described together with its electrocrystallization to the known conducting mixed‐valence ClO4 and ReO4 salts. Infrared (IR) and Raman spectra of the two isostructural quasi‐one‐dimensional cation radical salts (DMtTTF)2X (X = ReO4, ClO4) are investigated as a function of temperature (T = 5–300 K). At ambient temperature, these salts show metallic‐like properties and below Tρ = 100–150 K, they undergo a smeared transition to semiconducting state. To study this charge localization, we measured temperature dependence of polarized IR reflectance spectra (700–16 000 cm–1) and Raman spectra (150–3500 cm–1, excitation λ = 632.8 nm) of single crystals. For both compounds, the Raman data and especially the bands related to the C=C stretching vibration of the DMtTTF molecule show that the charge distribution on molecules is uniform down to the lowest temperatures. Similarly, IR data confirm that down to the lowest temperatures, there is neither charge ordering nor important modification of the electronic structure. However, the temperature dependence of Raman spectra of both salts reveals a regime change at about 150 K. Additionally, using Density Functional Theory (DFT) methods, the normal vibrational modes of the neutral DMtTTF0 and cationic DMtTTF+ species and also their theoretical IR and Raman spectra were calculated. The theoretical data were compared with the experimental IR and Raman spectra of neutral DMtTTF0 molecule. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Raman microscopy of the mixite mineral BiCu6(AsO4)3(OH)6·3H2O from Jáchymov and from Smrkovec (both Czech Republic) has been used to study their molecular structure. The presence of (AsO4)3−, (AsO3OH)2−, (PO4)3− and (PO3OH)2− units, as well as molecular water and hydroxyl ions, was inferred. O H···O hydrogen bond lengths were calculated from the Raman and infrared spectra using Libowitzky's empirical relation. Small differences in the Raman spectra between both samples were observed and attributed to compositional and hydrogen‐bonding network differences. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the solvation of silver bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide salt (AgTFSI) in 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium TFSI [EMI][TFSI] ionic liquid by combining Raman and infrared (IR) spectroscopies with density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The IR and Raman spectra were measured in the 200–4000 cm−1 spectral region for AgTFSI/[EMI][TFSI] solutions with different concentrations ([AgTFSI] <0.2 mole fraction). The analysis of the spectra shows that the spectral features observed by dissolution of AgTFSI in [EMI][TFSI] solution originate from interactions between the Ag+ cation and the first neighboring TFSI anions to form relatively stable Ag complexes. The ‘gas phase’ interaction energy of a type [Ag(TFSI)3]2− complex was evaluated by DFT calculations and compared with other interionic interaction energy contributions. The predicted spectral signatures because of the [Ag(TFSI)3]2− complex were assessed in order to interpret the main IR and Raman spectral features observed. The formation of such complexes leads to the appearance of new interaction‐induced bands situated at 753 cm−1 in Raman and at 1015 and 1371 cm−1 in IR, respectively. These specific spectral signatures are associated with the ‘breathing’ mode and the S–N–S and S–O stretching modes of the TFSI anions engaged in the complex. Finally, all these findings are discussed in terms of interaction mechanisms enabling the electrodeposition characteristics of silver from AgTFSI/[EMI][TFSI] IL‐based electrolytic solutions. A systematic study on lattice dynamics of Mn + 1AlCn (n = 1–3) phases using first‐principle calculations is reported, where the Raman‐active and infrared‐active (IR) modes are emphasized. The highest phonon wavenumber is related to the vibration of C atoms. The ‘imaginary wavenumber’ in the phonon spectrum of Nb3AlC2 contributes to the composition gap in Nb‐Al‐C system (Nb2AlC and Nb4AlC3 do appear in experiments, but there are no experimental reports on Nb3AlC2). The full set of Raman‐active and IR‐active modes in the 211, 312, and 413 Mn + 1AXn phases is identified, with the corresponding Raman and IR wavenumbers. The 211, 312, and 413 Mn + 1AXn phases have 4, 6, and 8 IR‐active modes, respectively. There is no distinct difference among the wavenumber ranges of IR‐active modes for 211, 312, and 413 phases, with the highest wavenumber of 780 cm−1 in Ta4AlC3. The Raman wavenumbers of M2AlC phases all decrease with increasing the d‐electron shell number of transition metal M. However, this case is valid only for the Raman‐active modes with low wavenumbers of M3AlC2 and M4AlC3. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Polarised Raman and IR spectra of K4Nb6O17 and K4Nb6O17· 3H2O single crystals were measured. The obtained spectra are discussed using the factor group approach for the orthorhombic P21nb space group and assignment of bands to the respective motions of atoms is proposed. In particular, we have shown that the bands above 770 cm−1 can be attributed to the stretching modes of short niobium–oxygen bonds, which are present in this material due to the pronounced layered structure, whereas the potassium atoms contribute to the bands observed below 180 cm−1. Our studies have revealed that intercalation of water molecules leads to shifts, broadening and changes in intensity of some bands. These changes have been attributed to slight changes in the bond lengths and angles, interactions of the water molecules with K atoms and structural disorder introduced by the intercalated water molecules. However, the main structural framework was preserved. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The molecular structure of the uranyl mineral rutherfordine has been investigated by the measurement of the near‐infrared (NIR) and Raman spectra and complemented with infrared spectra including their interpretation. The spectra of rutherfordine show the presence of both water and hydroxyl units in the structure as evidenced by IR bands at 3562 and 3465 cm−1 (OH) and 3343, 3185 and 2980 cm−1 (H2O). Raman spectra show the presence of four sharp bands at 3511, 3460, 3329 and 3151 cm−1. Corresponding molecular water bending vibrations were only observed in both Raman and infrared spectra of one of two studied rutherfordine samples. The second rutherfordine sample studied contained only hydroxyl ions in the equatorial uranyl plane and did not contain any molecular water. The infrared spectra of the (CO3)2− units in the antisymmetric stretching region show complexity with three sets of carbonate bands observed. This combined with the observation of multiple bands in the (CO3)2− bending region in both the Raman and IR spectra suggests that both monodentate and bidentate (CO3)2− units may be present in the structure. This cannot be exactly proved and inferred from the spectra; however, it is in accordance with the X‐ray crystallographic studies. Complexity is also observed in the IR spectra of (UO2)2+ antisymmetric stretching region and is attributed to non‐identical UO bonds. U O bond lengths were calculated using wavenumbers of the ν3 and ν1 (UO2)2+ and compared with data from X‐ray single crystal structure analysis of rutherfordine. Existence of solid solution having a general formula (UO2)(CO3)1−x(OH)2x.yH2O (x, y ≥ 0) is supported in the crystal structure of rutherfordine samples studied. Polarized FT‐IR, Raman, neutron scattering (IINS), and UV‐Vis‐NIR spectra of 2‐methyl‐4‐nitroaniline (MNA) crystal plates, powder, and solutions were measured in the 10–50 000 cm−1 range. The FT‐IR spectrum of deuterated MNA (DMNA) in KBr pellet, the Raman spectrum of the DMNA powder as well as the EPR spectrum of the MNA powder were also recorded. Complete assignments of bands to normal vibrations have been proposed. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations of wavenumbers and potential energy distribution (PED) have been performed to strengthen the assignments. The analysis of vibrational and electronic spectra has revealed vibronic couplings in MNA molecules in solutions and in crystals. In the polarized FT‐IR spectra of the crystal five unusually large bands are observed in MIR and NIR regions. Their origin is discussed in terms of N H···O, C H···O, C H···H N hydrogen bonds, intermolecular charge transfers, electrostatic interactions, and ion radicals formation in the crystal. The role of a methyl group introduction to 4‐nitroaniline is analyzed. The crystal structure of MNA at the room temperature was re‐investigated. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

X‐ray diffraction (XRD) studies have shown that 2‐piperidyl‐5‐nitro‐6‐methylpyridine, C11H15N3O2, undergoes a structural phase transition at T = 240 K. The room temperature structure is tetragonal, space group I41/a, with the unit‐cell dimensions a = 13.993(2) and c = 23.585(5) Å. The pyridine ring takes trans conformation with respect to the piperidine unit. While pyridine is well ordered, the piperidine moiety shows apparent disorder resulting from a libration about the linking N C bond. The low‐temperature phase is monoclinic, space group I2/a. Contraction of the unit‐cell volume by 2.3% at 170 K enables the C H···O linkage between the molecules of the neighbouring stacks. As result, the asymmetric unit becomes bi‐molecular. The thermal librations of the piperidine and methyl groups become considerably reduced at 170 K and nearly fully reduced at about 100 K. The IR spectra and polarised Raman spectra agree with the X‐ray structure and confirm the disorder effect on the piperidine ring. The assignment of the bands observed was made on the basis of DFT chemical quantum calculations. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The structural dynamics of 4‐pyrimidone (4PMO) in the A‐ and B‐band absorptions was studied by using the resonance Raman spectroscopy combined with quantum chemical calculations to better understand whether the excited state intramolecular proton‐transfer (ESIPT) reaction occurs in Franck–Condon regions or not. The transition barrier for the ground state proton‐transfer tautomerization reaction between 3(H) (I) and hydroxy (II) was determined to be 165 kJ·mol−1 in vacuum on the basis of the B3LYP/6‐311++G(d,2p) level of theory calculations. Two ultraviolet absorption bands of 4PMO were, respectively, assigned as πH→π*L and πH→π*L+1 transitions. The vibrational assignments were done on the basis of the Fourier transform (FT)‐Raman and FT‐infrared (IR) measurements, the density‐functional theory computations and the normal mode analysis. The A‐ and B‐band resonance Raman spectra of 4PMO were measured in water, methanol and acetonitrile. The structural dynamics of 4PMO was obtained through the analysis of the resonance Raman intensity pattern. We discuss the similarities in the structural dynamics of 4PMO and 2‐thiopyrimidone (2TPM), and the results were used to correlate to the intramolecular hydrogen‐atom‐transfer process as observed by matrix‐isolation IR experiments for 4PMO. A variety of NH/CH bend modes + C = O stretch mode mark the hydrogen‐detachment‐attachment or ESIPT reaction initiated in Franck–Condon region for 4PMO and 2TPM.
