The optical properties of TlInS2xSe2(1‐x)mixed crystals (0.25 ≤ x ≤ 1) have been studied at room temperature through the transmittance and reflectivity measurements in the wavelength range of 400–1100 nm. The spectral dependence of the refractive index for all compositions of studied crystals were obtained. The dispersion of the refractive index is discussed in terms of the Wemple–DiDomenico single‐effective‐oscillator model. The compositional dependencies of refractive index dispersion parameters: oscillator energy, dispersion energy and zero‐frequency refractive index were revealed. (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. The (CuInSe2)x(2ZnSe)1‐x and (CuInTe2)x(2ZnTe)1‐x solid solution crystals prepared by Bridgman method and chemical vapor transport have been studied. The nature of the crystalline phases, the local structure homogeneity and composition of these materials have been investigated by X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and Electron Probe Microanalysis (EPMA) methods. The analysis revealed the presence of chalcopyrite‐sphalerite phase transition between 0.6 ≤ X ≤ 0.7. Lattice constants, value of σ position parameter and bond length between atoms were also calculated. It was found that the lattice parameters exhibit a linear dependence versus composition. The transmission spectra of solid solution crystals in the region of the main absorption edge were studied. It was established that the optical band gap of these materials changes non‐linearly with the X composition. (© 2004 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

The optical properties of Tl2InGaSe4 layered single crystals have been studied through the transmission and reflection measurements in the wavelength range of 500‐1100 nm. The analysis of room temperature absorption data revealed the presence of both optical indirect and direct transitions with band gap energies of 1.86 and 2.05 eV, respectively. Transmission measurements carried out in the temperature range of 10‐300 K revealed that the rate of change of the indirect band gap with temperature is γ = – 4.4 × 10‐4 eV/K. The absolute zero value of the band gap energy was obtained as Egi(0) = 1.95 eV. The dispersion of the refractive index is discussed in terms of the single oscillator model. The refractive index dispersion parameters: oscillator wavelength and strength were found to be 2.53 × 10–7 m and 9.64 × 1013 m–2, respectively. (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Single crystals of CdGa2(1‐x)Cr2xSe4 compounds for 0 ≤ x ≤ 1 have been grown by using the chemical vapor transport technique in a closed system. The transporting agent was CdCl2 in a proportion of 0.75 mg/cc of capsule. The starting material was previously synthetized. The structural characterization on the crystals were done by powder x‐ray diffraction studies. The results show three different phases for various Cr concentration ranges: spinel structure for x ≥ 0.7, rombohedral for 0.6 ≥ x ≥ 0.5 and tetragonal for 0.4 ≥ x ≥ 0. That is, the chromium dilution in the CdCr2Se4 compound by Ga atoms produces very significant changes in the structural atomic arrangement. (© 2004 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Large single crystals of optical quality of the non‐centrosymmetric orthorhombic potassium rare earth nitrate mixed crystals K2(La1–x Cex)(NO3)5 · 2 H2O were grown at 38 °C from diluted HNO3. For crystals with x = 0.0, 0.19, 0.38 and 0.66 refractive indices and their dispersion were determined with an error less than 1 · 10–4 in the wavelength range 0.404 – 1.083 μm by the prism method. Phase matching conditions for collinear SHG frequency conversion were analysed in detail, including calculation of the effective nonlinear optical susceptibility. By an appropriate choice of the fraction x of cerium the mixed crystals K2(La1–x Cex)(NO3)5 · 2 H2O allow an adjustment of non‐critical type I phase matching conditions to a desired wavelength of the fundamental wave within the range 1.055(4) – 1.107(6) μm. Non‐critical type II phase matching can be tuned in the wavelength range 0.949(2) – 0.931(2) μm. (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

High‐pure and single‐phase AgGa1‐xInxSe2 (x=0.2) polycrystalline was synthesized by the mechanical and temperature oscillation method. Adopting the modified Bridgman method an integral AgGa1‐xInxSe2 single crystal with diameter of 14 mm and length of 35 mm has been obtained at the rate of 6 mm/day. It was found that there is a new cleavage face which was (101), and observed the four order X‐ray spectrum of the {101} faces. By the method of DSC analysis the melting and freezing points of the AgGa1‐xInxSe2 (x=0.2) single crystal were about 828°C and 790°C. The transmission spectra of the AgGa1‐xInxSe2 (x=0.2) sample of 5×6×2 mm3 were obtained by means of UV and IR spectrophotometer. The limiting frequency was 774.316nm and the band gap was 1.6eV. It can be found in the infrared spectrum that the infrared transmission was above 60% from 4000cm‐1 to 600cm‐1. The value of α in 5.3µm and 10.6µm were 0.022cm‐1 and 0.1cm‐1 respectively. All results showed that the crystal was of good quality. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Large and high‐quality single crystals of both Pb‐free and Pb‐doped high temperature superconducting compounds (Bi1‐xPbx)2Sr2Ca2Cu3O10‐y (x = 0 and 0.3) were grown by means of a newly developed “Vapour‐Assisted Travelling Floating Zone” technique (VA‐TSFZ). This modified zone‐melting technique was realised in an image furnace and allowed for the first time to grow Pb‐doped crystals by compensating for the Pb losses occurring at high temperature. Crystals up to 3×2×0.1 mm3 were successfully grown. Post‐annealing under high pressure of O2 (up to 10 MPa at T = 500°C) was undertaken to enhance Tc and improve the homogeneity of the crystals. Structural characterisation was performed by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and the structure of the 3‐layer Bi‐based superconducting compound was refined for the first time. Structure refinement showed an incommensurate superlattice in the Pb‐free crystals. The space group is orthorhombic, A2aa, with cell parameters a = 27.105(4) Å, b = 5.4133(6) Å and c = 37.009(7) Å. Superconducting studies were carried out by A.C. and D.C. magnetic measurements. Very sharp superconducting transitions were obtained in both kinds of crystals (ΔTc ≤ 1 K). In optimally doped Pb‐free crystals, critical temperatures up to 111 K were measured. Magnetic critical current densities of 2105 A/cm2 were measured at T = 30 K and μ0H = 0 T. A weak second peak in the magnetisation loops was observed in the temperature range 40‐50 K above which the vortex lattice becomes entangled. We have measured a portion of the irreversibility line (0.1‐5 Tesla) and fitted the expression for the melting of a vortex glass in a 2D fluctuation regime to the experimental data. Measurements of the lower critical field allowed to obtain the dependence of the penetration depth on temperature: the linear dependence of λ(T) for T < 30 K is consistent with d‐wave superconductivity in Bi‐2223. The optical properties of the Ga0.75In0.25Se crystals have been investigated by means of transmission and reflection measurements in the wavelength range of 380–1100 nm. The analysis of the results performed at room temperature revealed the presence of optical indirect transtions with band gap energy of 1.89 eV. The variation of the band gap energy as a function of temperature was also studied in the temperature range of 10–300 K. The rate of change of band gap energy (γ = –6.2 × 10–4 eV/K) and absolute zero value of the band gap (Egi(0) = 2.01 eV) were reported. The wavelength dependence of the refractive index was analyzed using Wemple and DiDomenico, Sellmeier and Cauchy models to find the oscillator energy, dispersion energy, oscillator strength and zero‐frequency refractive index values. The investigations on the formation of mixed crystals of ammonium dihydrogen orthophosphate (ADP) and potassium dihydrogen orthophosphate (KDP) i.e. potassium ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, K1‐x(NH4)xH2PO4 have been presented in this paper. Pure and mixed crystals of ADP and KDP have been grown by slow evaporation technique from the supersaturated solution at an ambient temperature 26±1 °C for ammonium concentration x in the range 0.0 ≤ x ≤ 1.0 in the case of mixed crystals. Crystal compositions were determined by flame atomic absorption spectroscopy and chemical analysis. The results of the X‐ray analysis of the grown crystals are also reported. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) were used to study the kinetic process of dehydration and the high temperature phase behaviour. DTA showed the distinct thermal events attributed to dehydration of ADP, KDP and K1‐x(NH4)xH2PO4. The results of thermal analysis and chemical analysis are consistent with each other. Li3 + x P1 ? x GexO4 crystals (x = 0.34) with dimensions of about 3 × 3 × 5 mm3 were grown for the first time from flux. The conductivities of the crystals measured along three directions have close values and are equal to σ ≈ 1.8 × 10?6 and 3.7 × 10?2 Sm/cm at the temperatures 40 and 400°C, respectively (similar to the case of pure lithium phosphate, somewhat lower values of electric conductivity were measure along the b axis). The activation energy of conductivity is equal to 0.54 eV. A considerable increase in the conductivity of the solid solution in comparison with the conductivity of pure lithium phosphate is explained by the specific features of the lithium sublattice in the crystal structure of the λ-Li3PO4 type.  相似文献

Mixed crystals of K1‐x(NH4)xH2PO4(KADP) were grown from KDP (KH2PO4) dominated mixed solutions with varying molar proportion of ADP (NH4H2PO4) addition. It was found that, as the increase of ADP molar concentration, the growth rate along z‐axis of KADP crystal decreased rapidly. The structure of KADP crystals was investigated by powder XRD and the lattice parameter was calculated. The results showed that the lattice parameter c of KADP crystal increased with the molar concentration of ADP. The optical homogeneity of grown KADP crystals was determined with a differential phase‐shifting interferometry. Frequency dependences of the dielectric constant and dielectric loss of KADP crystals were measured at room temperature (290 K). The dielectric constants of KADP crystals were almost invariant with the increase of frequency. In the region of 102∼104Hz, the values of the dielectric loss reduced with the increase of frequency. The piezo‐resonance coupling effect still exists in KADP crystals at room temperature, but shifted to low frequency band. (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Systematic dark electrical resistivity and Hall mobility measurements have been carried out in the temperature range 150‐400 K on n‐type GaS0.5Se0.5 layered crystals. The analysis of temperature dependent electrical resistivity and carrier concentration reveals the extrinsic type of conduction with a donor impurity level located at 0.44 eV, donor and acceptor concentrations of 3.4 ×1017 and 4.1×1016 cm‐3, respectively, and an electron effective mass of 0.41 m0. The Hall mobility is limited by the electron‐phonon short‐range interactions scattering at high temperatures combined with the ionized impurity scattering at low temperatures. The electron‐phonon short‐range interactions scattering mobility analysis reveals an electron‐phonon coupling constant of 0.25 and conduction band deformation potential of 5.57 eV/Å.  相似文献

Refractive indices and effective electro‐optic coefficient γc of (1–x)Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3xPbTiO3 (PZN‐xPT, x = 0.05, 0.09 and 0.12) single crystals were measured at 532 nm wavelength. Orientation and temperature dependences of the electro‐optic coefficient were investigated. Large electro‐optic coefficient (γc = 470 pm/V) was observed in [001]‐poled PZN‐0.09PT crystal. More importantly, γc of tetragonal PZN‐0.12PT is almost unchanged in a temperature range −20 ∼ 80 °C. The γc of PZN‐xPT single crystals are much higher than that of widely used electro‐optic crystal LiNbO3 (γc = 20 pm/V). These results show that PZN‐xPT single crystals are very promising materials for electro‐optic modulators in optical communications.  相似文献

Substituted barium hexaferrites, BaFe12‐2xZnxTixO19 (0 ≤ x ≤ 2), have been synthesized by thermal decomposition of freeze‐dried acetate precursors. Decomposition and phase formation were investigated by means of thermal analysis, XRD and IR spectroscopy. The initially amorphous decomposed precursor reacts to the substituted hexaferrite via a spinel‐like maghemite (γ‐Fe2O3) and Zn/Ti containing spinel ferrites. The synthesis method allows a decrease of the reaction temperature and time, necessary for producing a single phase hexaferrite. At relative low reaction temperatures, the substitution rate x shows remarkable differences at different iron sublattices. For x ≤ 0,8 this selective substitution results in an increase of magnetization as x grows. (© 2003 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

The optical properties of Tl2In2S3Se layered single crystals have been studied by means of transmission and reflection measurements in the wavelength range of 450‐1100 nm. The analysis of the absorption data revealed the presence of both optical indirect and direct transitions with energy band gaps of 2.16 and 2.42 eV, respectively. The observed coexistence of indirect and direct energy band gaps is related to the anisotropy of the Tl‐containing layered crystals. The dispersion of the refractive index is discussed in terms of the Wemple‐DiDomenico single‐effective‐oscillator model. The refractive index dispersion parameters: oscillator energy, dispersion energy, oscillator strength and zero‐frequency refractive index were found to be 4.78 eV, 43.58 eV, 13.18 × 1013 m–2 and 3.18, respectively. From X‐ray powder diffraction study, the parameters of monoclinic unit cell were determined. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Investigations of the thermal expansion of (CuAlTe2)1–x(CuAlSe2)x solid solutions in the temperature range from 100 to 800 K have been carried out for the first time. It has been demonstrated that the thermal expansion coefficient αL grows considerably in the temperature range from 100 to 300 K, whereas the temperature dependence above 300 K is rather weak. The isotherms of composition dependence of the thermal expansion coefficient αL for 100, 293, 500 and 800 K were constructed, and it was found that linear relations could express them. The Debye temperatures θD , the average mean‐square dynamic displacements , the average root‐mean‐square amplitudes of thermal vibration RMS , the anion position parameter u using S. C. Abrahams & J. L. Bernstein (uAB ) and J. E. Jaffe & A. Zunger (uJZ ) models were calculated. The composition dependence of microhardness H using the phenomenological theory was also calculated, and it was discovered that this dependence has a non‐linear character with a maximum of 383 kg/mm2 at x=0.67. The PbxSn1‐xS (x = 0 – 0.25) thin films were prepared on glass substrates by hot wall vacuum deposition. The films were polycrystalline monophase in nature and had orthorhombic crystal structure. The thickness of the films was about 2‐3 μm. The temperature dependences of the conductivity were measured in the temperature range from 150 to 420 K. The films revealed p‐type of conductivity. The Seebeck coefficient and conductivity values of the films was in the range of α = 6 – 360 μV/K and σ = 4.8×10‐5 – 1.5×10‐2 Ω‐1·cm‐1, respectively, at room temperature depending on concentration of the lead in the films. The lead atoms created the substitution defects PbSn in the crystal lattice of the PbxSn1‐xS. These defects formed the donor energy levels in the band gap. The activation energy of the films increased in the range ΔEa = 0.121 – 0.283 eV with increasing of the lead concentration. (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

The crystal structure as well as the optical properties in the band gap region of (CuInTe2)1‐x(2 ZnTe)x solid solution single crystals grown by directional freezing have been studied. The lattice constants exhibit a linear dependence on crystal composition. The chalcopyrite‐sphalerite phase transition was observed between x = 0.3 and x = 0.4°. The variation of the band gap with respect to crystal composition can be described by a quadratic expression.  相似文献

Photoluminescence (PL) spectra of GaS0.75Se0.25 layered single crystals have been studied in the wavelength region of 500‐850 nm and in the temperature range of 10‐200 K. Two PL bands centered at 527 ( 2.353 eV, A‐band) and 658 nm (1.884 eV, B‐band) were observed at T = 10 K. Variations of both bands have been studied as a function of excitation laser intensity in the range from 8 × 10‐3 to 10.7 W cm‐2. These bands are attributed to recombination of charge carriers through donor‐acceptor pairs located in the band gap. Radiative transitions from shallow donor levels located 0.043 and 0.064 eV below the bottom of conduction band to acceptor levels located 0.088 and 0.536 eV above the top of the valence band are suggested to be responsible for the observed A‐ and B‐bands in the PL spectra, respectively.  相似文献

Raman scattering has been used to study the vibrational spectra of GaSexS1‐x layered mixed crystals at 10 K. We report the frequency dependencies of different modes on composition x, with particular emphasis on A1(2) (A1g1) and A1(4) (A1g2) intralayer compressional modes having low dispersion in the Brillouin zone. The appearance of additional bands is attributed to multimode behavior typically exhibited by mixed crystals of anisotropic compounds.  相似文献
