[reaction: see text] A new thioamide derivative of 8-hydroxyquinoline-benzothiazole was prepared, and its fluorogenic chemodosimetric behaviors toward transition-metal ions were investigated. The thioamide derivative showed highly Hg2+-selective fluorescence enhancing properties (167-fold) in 30% aqueous acetonitrile solution. The selective and sensitive signaling behaviors were found to originate from the Hg2+ ion induced transformation of the very weak fluorescent thioamide derivative into a highly fluorescent amide analogue.  相似文献

A new Hg2+-selective chemodosimeter based on α-naphthoflavone was investigated. The chemodosimetric behavior is based on the Hg2+-triggered desulfurization of flavothione into its oxygen analogue flavone. The signaling was effective in aqueous environment and the selective signaling was not affected in the presence of common physiologically and environmentally important metal ions.  相似文献

A new 8-hydroxyquinoline derivative having an appended boron-dipyrromethene function has been prepared, and its metal ion sensing properties were investigated. The designed compound exhibited pronounced Hg(2+)-selective on-off-type fluoroionophoric properties among the representative transition- and heavy-metal ions in aqueous dioxane solution. The fluorescence was efficiently quenched more than 98% with 5 equiv of Hg(2+) ions, and the detection limit was found to be 5 x 10(-)(6) M in a dioxane-water (1:3, v/v) solvent system. The ionophore also showed a selective chromogenic behavior toward Hg(2+) ions by changing the color of the solution from light amber to red, which can be detected with the naked eye.  相似文献

[reaction: see text] A new fluoroionophore has been synthesized by appending two signaling pyrenylacetamide subunits on the binding motif of 1,8-dimethylcyclam. The designed compound exhibited highly selective and sensitive fluoroionophoric behavior toward Hg(2+) ions of excimer emission in aqueous dioxane (dioxane/H(2)O = 1:9, v/v) solution with a detection limit of 1.3 x 10(-)(6) M. The "ON-OFF" type signaling behavior of the fluoroionophore is due to the metal ion induced conformational changes from folded to open-winged conformations by exploiting the two nearby appended pyrenyl fluorophores.  相似文献

A novel rhodamine-based highly sensitive and selective colorimetric off-on fluorescent chemosensor for Hg(2+) ions is designed and prepared by using the well-known thiospirolactam rhodamine chromophore and furfural hydrazone as signal-reporting groups. The photophysical characterization and Hg(2+)-binding properties of sensor RS1 in neutral N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF) aqueous solution are also investigated. The signal change of the chemosensor is based on a specific metal ion induced reversible ring-opening mechanism of the rhodamine spirolactam. The response of the chemosensor for Hg(2+) ions is instantaneous and reversible. And it successfully exhibits a remarkably "turn on" response toward Hg(2+) over other metal ions (even those that exist in high concentration). Moreover, this sensor is applied for in vivo imaging in Rat Schwann cells to confirm that RS1 can be used as a fluorescent probe for monitoring Hg(2+) in living cells with satisfying results, which further demonstrates its value of practical applications in environmental and biological systems.  相似文献

Dansyl-labeled methionine is synthesized by solid-phase synthesis, and found to be a highly sensitive and selective sensor for Hg(2+). The sensor sensitively detects Hg(2+) ions in aqueous solution by a turn-on response; however, the sensor detects Hg(2+) ions by a turn-off response in organic and mixed aqueous-organic solutions. We investigated the binding stoichiometry, binding constant, and binding mode of the sensor under various solvent conditions. In 100% aqueous solution, 2 : 1 complexation of the sensor with Hg(2+) ions is more favorable than 1 : 1 complexation, whereas the sensor preferentially forms a 1 : 1 complex in 100% CH(3)CN or in 50% CH(3)CN-aqueous solutions. Results reveal that the stoichiometry of the sensor-Hg(2+) complex plays an important role in the type of response to Hg(2+) ions, and that 2 : 1 complexation is required for a turn-on response to Hg(2+) ions in aqueous solution.  相似文献

The selective signaling of hypochlorous acid by dithiane-protected [corrected] pyrene-aldehyde was investigated. Dithiolane derivative of pyrene-aldehyde was efficiently deprotected by hypochlorous acid to its corresponding aldehyde, which resulted in a prominent UV-vis and turn-on type fluorescence signaling. The signaling was not affected by the presence of other common alkali, alkaline earth metal ions, and anions. Interference from Hg(2+) ions could be successfully circumvented by using Chelex-100 resin. Dithiane [corrected] also provided selectivity toward hypochlorous acid over other commonly used oxidant of hydrogen peroxide.  相似文献

A novel chemosensor based on unsymmetrical squaraine dye (USQ-1) for the selective detection of Hg(2+) in aqueous media is described. USQ-1 in combination with metal ions shows dual chromogenic and "turn-on" fluorogenic response selectivity toward Hg(2+) as compared to Li(+), Na(+), K(+), Mg(2+), Ca(2+), Ba(2+), Al(3+), Cu(2+), Cd(2+), Mn(2+), Fe(3+), Ag(+), Pb(2+), Zn(2+), Ni(2+) and Co(2+) due to the Hg(2+)-induced deaggregation of the dye molecule. A recognition mechanism based on the binding mode is proposed based on the absorption and fluorescence changes, (1)H NMR titration experiments, ESI-MS study, and theoretical calculations.  相似文献

A new series of benzoylthiourea derivatives of 1, 3, and 5 were prepared, and their chemodosimetric behaviors toward metal cations were investigated in aqueous media at room temperature. Among various metal cations tested, exclusively Hg2+ ion responses to irreversible color changes of receptors, along with distinctive blue shifts in UV/vis spectra. The receptors can be applicable for the monitoring of Hg2+ ion in aqueous solution with a pH span 4-9.  相似文献

A new podand-type dioxaoctanediamide-based chemosensor having two pyrene moieties was prepared, and its fluoroionophoric behaviors toward transition-metal ions were investigated. Pyrene-appended dioxaoctanediamide 1 showed a selective fluorescence quenching toward Hg2+ ions over other transition-metal ions in an aqueous methanol solution. Unique responses in pyrene monomer and excimer emissions allowed selective ratiometric determination of Hg2+ ions in aqueous environments, and the detection limit was found to be 1.6 x 10(-6) M. A newly synthesized imine-based receptor (L) showed remarkable specificity toward the Hg(2+) ion in aqueous media over other metal ions. Coordination of L to Hg(2+) induces a turn-on fluorescence response. This was explained based on the restricted imine isomerization along with PET on coordination to Hg(2+). X-ray structural evidence tends to favor a C-C bond rotation rather than C═N isomerization for adopting a favorable conformation in L for coordination to Hg(2+). This reagent could be used for imaging the accumulation of Hg(2+) ions in HeLa cells.  相似文献

[reaction: see text] A chemically programmed antibody sensor, consisting of a stilbenyl boronic acid cofactor and monoclonal antibody EP2-19G2, provides a new method of mercury detection. The fluorescent antibody sensor generates an intense powder blue fluorescence when bound to the stilbenyl boronic acid cofactor; however, it is quenched in the presence of Hg(2+) ions. The EP2-19G2-cofactor biosensor provides micromolar sensitivity and selectivity toward Hg(2+) ions over a wide range of metal ions in aqueous solution.  相似文献

A new terphenyl-based macrocycle 5 incorporating phenanthroline as a fluorophore has been designed, synthesized and examined for its recognition ability toward various cations (Pb(2+), Hg(2+), Ba(2+), Cd(2+), Ag(+), Zn(2+), Cu(2+), Ni(2+), Co(2+), K(+), Mg(2+), Na(+) and Li(+)) by UV-vis, fluorescence and NMR spectroscopy. The receptor 5 showed highly selective 'Off-On' fluorescence signaling behavior for Zn(2+) ions in THF. Interestingly, the addition of H(2)PO(4)(-) ions to the [5-Zn] complex regulates the binding site for additional Zn(2+) ions and hence leads to a blue-shifted emission band.  相似文献

A naphthylthiourea-modified cyclodextrin (1) and its urea derivative (2) were synthesized, and their fluorescence behaviors in the presence of various metal ions were investigated. Significantly, 1 showed a highly sensitive and selective fluorescence sensing ability for Hg(2+) over other metal ions in both water and living cells. That is, the addition of Hg(2+) to an aqueous solution of 1 gave a significantly enhanced fluorescence at ~380 nm. In contrast, the addition of other metal ions induced negligible fluorescence changes. The possible mechanism may be due to the transformation of thiourea to urea by Hg(2+)-induced desulfurization in water.  相似文献

A newly synthesized azine-based receptor (L) is found to show remarkable specificity toward the Hg(2+) ion in aqueous media over other metal ions. Coordination of L to Hg(2+) induces a detectable change in color and a turn-on fluorescence response. Restricted C=N isomerization of the azine moieties in the excited state as well as the Photoinduced Electron Transfer (PET) involving the lone pair of electrons of N(1)/N(2) on coordination of L to the Hg(2+) ion account for the turn-on fluorescence response. This reagent could be used for imaging the accumulation of Hg(2+) ions in Epithelial cell line KB 31 cells.  相似文献

We investigated the chemosignaling of Au(3+) by the selective desulfurization of thiocoumarin. In the presence of a heavy metal ion chelator N,N,N',N'-tetrakis-(2-pyridylmethyl)ethylenediamine, thiocoumarin was selectively converted to its oxo analogue by reaction with Au(3+), resulting in a pronounced chromogenic and fluorescent signaling. Selective signaling of Au(3+) was possible in the presence of common alkali, alkaline earth, and transition metal ions, as well as Au(+) in a mixed aqueous environment. The colorimetric determination of Au(3+) was possible by the color change from pink to yellowish green of the designed probe. The detection limit for the determination of Au(3+) in 50% aqueous acetonitrile was 1.1 × 10(-7) M.  相似文献

Amide linked lower rim 1,3-dibenzimidazole derivative of calix[4]arene, L has been shown to be sensitive and selective to Hg(2+) in aqueous acetonitrile solution based on fluorescence spectroscopy, and the stoichiometry of the complexed species has been found to be 1:1. The selectivity of L toward Hg(2+) has been shown among 11 M(2+) ions, viz., Mn(2+), Fe(2+), Co(2+), Ni(2+), Cu(2+), Zn(2+), Cd(2+), Hg(2+), Pb(2+), Ca(2+), and Mg(2+) studied, including those of the mercury group and none of these ions impede the recognition of Hg(2+) by L. Role of the solvent on the recognition of Hg(2+) has been demonstrated. The role of calix[4]arene platform and the benzimidazole moieties in the recognition of Hg(2+) by L has been delineated upon performing such studies with five different molecules of relevance as reference molecular systems. The binding cores formed by the receptor L and the reference compounds have been established based on the single crystal XRD structures, and the preferential metal ion binding cores have been discussed. The binding of Hg(2+) with L has been further established based on (1)H and (13)C NMR, ESI MS, absorption, and fluorescence lifetime measurements. Some of these techniques have been used to establish the stoichiometry of the species formed. The complex species formed between L and Hg(2+) have been isolated and characterized and found to be 1:1 species even in the isolated complex. Whereas transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) provided the nanostructural behavior of L, the TEM and SEM demonstrated that the mercury complex has different characteristics when compared to L. The TEM, SEM, and powder XRD studies revealed that whereas L is crystalline, that of the mercury complex is not, perhaps a reason for not being able to obtain single crystals of the complex. Binding characteristics of Hg(2+) toward L have been established based on the DFT computational calculations.  相似文献

A turn-on chemosensor L1, which exhibits high selectivity and sensitivity toward Hg(2+) over other common metal ions in aqueous media under a physiological pH window via a 1:1 binding mode, had been synthesized and characterized. L1 provides good fluorescent imaging of Hg(2+) in living cells. Particularly, we adopted the "micro computed tomography (MCT)" technology, successfully demonstrating the method of Hg(2+) sensing by L1 in cell lines, also the cell permeability of L1 and its imaging position in the cells.  相似文献

Thioamide derivative with a pyrene fluorophore was smoothly transformed to its corresponding amide by Zr(4+) ions in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. The transformation was evidenced by (1)H NMR spectroscopy and the signaling was completed within 10 min after sample preparation. Interference from Ag(+) and Hg(2+) ions in Zr(4+)-selective fluorescence signaling was readily suppressed with the use of Sn(2+) as a reducing additive. Discrimination of Zr(4+) from closely related hafnium, which is a frequent contaminant in commercial zirconium, was not possible. Prominent Zr(4+)-selective turn-on type fluorescence signaling was possible with a detection limit of 4.6 × 10(-6) M in an aqueous 99% ethanol solution.  相似文献

New cyclam derivatives having diametrically disubstituted pyrene fluorophores were prepared and their fluoroionophoric properties toward transition metal ions were investigated. The compounds exhibited significant selectivity toward Hg2+ and Cu2+ ions in switching-off type responses in aqueous methanol or acetonitrile solution. Dipyrene-diamide derivative 3, having extra binding sites of the amide function, exhibited more pronounced chemosensing behavior toward Hg2+ and Cu2+ ions than its parent, dipyrene derivative 2. Detection limits for the analysis of Hg2+ and Cu2+ ions of dipyrene-diamide derivative 3 were 1.45x10(-6) and 1.30x10(-6) M, respectively. The diametrically disubstituted dipyrene-cyclam 2 may be utilized as a new starting platform for the design of other supramolecular fluorescent signaling systems having switching or chemosensing behaviors toward transition metal ions.  相似文献
