Two boundary value problems are investigated for an over-determined elliptic system with several complex variables in polydisc. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of finitely many linearly independent solutions and finitely many solvability conditions are derived. Moreover, the boundary value problem for any number of complex variables is treated in a unified way and the essential difference between the case of one complex variable and that of several complex variables is revealed.

In this article, we first propose the Riemann-Hilbert problem for uniformly elliptic complex equations of first order and its well-posed-ness in multiply connected domains.Then we give the integral representation of solutions for modified Riemann-Hilbert problem of the complex equations. Moreover we shall obtain a priori estimates of solutions of the modified Riemann-Hilbert problem and verify its solvability. Finally the solvability results of the original boundary value problem can be obtained.

On a Riemann–Hilbert problem for the Fokas–Lenells equation

The solution of the initial value problem (IVP) for the Fokas–Lenells equation (FLE) was constructed in terms of the solution $M(x,t,k)$ of a 2 $\times$ 2 matrix Riemann–Hilbert problem (RHP) as $k\to \infty$, and the one-soliton solution of the FLE was derived based on this Riemann–Hilbert problem, in Lenells and Fokas (2009). However, in fact, the derivative with respect to $x$ of the solution of the FLE ($u_x(x,t)$) was recovered from the RHP as $k\to \infty$. In this paper, we construct the solution of the FLE in terms of the RHP as $k\to 0$, because the Lax pair of the FLE contains the negative order of the spectral variable $k$. We show that the one-soliton solution of the FLE obtained in this paper is the same as Lenells and Fokas (2009), but avoiding a complex integral.     

Nonlinear Riemann - Hilbert Problems without Transversality

Nonlinear Riemann - Hilbert problems (RHP) generalize two fundamental classical problems for complex analytic functions, namely: 1. the conformal mapping problem, and 2. the linear Riemann - Hilbert problem. This paper presents new results on global existence for the nonlinear (RHP) in doubly connected domains with nonclosed restriction curves for the boundary data. More precisely, our nonlinear (RHP) is required to become ?at infinity”?, i.e., for solutions having large moduli, a linear (RHP) with variable coefficients. Global existence for q-connected domains was already obtained in [9] for the special case that the restriction curves for the boundary data ?at infinity”? coincide with straight lines corresponding to linear (RHP)-s with special so-called constant - coefficient transversality boundary conditions. In this paper, the boundary conditions are much more general including highly nonlinear conditions for bounded solutions in the context of nontransversality. In order to prove global existence, we reduce the problem to nonlinear singular integral equations which can be treated by a degree theory of Fredholm - quasiruled mappings specifically constructed for mappings defined by nonlinar pseudodifferential operators.     

Second Order Estimates for Non-Concave Hessian Type Elliptic Equations on Riemannian Manifolds

In this paper, we derive second order estimates for a class of non-concave Hessian type elliptic equations on Riemannian manifolds. By applying a new method for $C^2$ estimates, we can weaken some conditions, which works for some non-concave equations. Gradient estimates are also obtained.

On the Dirichlet Problem for a System of Degenerate at a Point Elliptic Equations in the Class of Bounded Functions

We consider a weakly connected (by the lowest terms) system of elliptic equations of second order with the main part in the form of the Laplace operator, the order of which becomes degenerate at an interior point of the domain. We investigate a Dirichlet-type problem in the class of bounded Hölder vector functions. We obtain sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of a solution.     

Superconvergence for Optimal Control Problem Governed by Nonlinear Elliptic Equations

In this article, we investigate the superconvergence of the finite element approximation for optimal control problem governed by nonlinear elliptic equations. The state and co-state are discretized by piecewise linear functions and control is approximated by piecewise constant functions. We give the superconvergence analysis for both the control variable and the state variables. Finally, the numerical experiments show the theoretical results.
