Equilibrium studies on the ternary complex systems involving ampicillin (amp) as ligand (A) and imidazole containing ligands viz., imidazole (Him), benzimidazole (Hbim), histamine (Hist) and histidine (His) as ligands (B) at 37 °C and I = 0.15 mol dm?3 (NaClO4) show the presence of CuABH, CuAB and CuAB2. The proton in the CuABH species is attached to ligand A. In the ternary complexes the ligand, amp(A) binds the metal ion via amino nitrogen and carbonyl oxygen atom. The CuAB (B = Hist/His)/CuAB2 (B = Him/Hbim) species have also been isolated and the analytical data confirmed its formation. Non-electrolytic behavior and monomeric type of chelates have been assessed from their low conductance and magnetic susceptibility values. The electronic and vibrational spectral results were interpreted to find the mode of binding of ligands to metal and geometry of the complexes. This is also supported by the g tensor values calculated from ESR spectra. The thermal behaviour of complexes were studied by TGA/DTA. The redox behavior of the complexes has been studied by cyclic voltammetry. The antimicrobial activity and CT DNA cleavage study of the complexes show higher activity for ternary complexes.  相似文献

The liquid crystalline properties of 1-(alkylamino)-3-[(4'-hexyl-trans-cyclohexyl-4'-phenyl]-prop-1-en-3-one-s, from methyl to octadecyl, and their copper (II) complexes have been examined by optical, DSC, X-ray and EPR methods. The compounds are enantiotropic nematogens except those having the shortest and the longest terminal chains. Short chains promote the SA phase in both ligands and complexes, whereas long chains promote SC and crystal H phases for the ligands or SA and SC phases for the complexes. A partly bilayer smectic Ad phase is observed from ligands terminated with short non-polar substituents. Direct isotropisation from the crystal H phase for some of the compounds, as well as other phase transitions have been studied. The molecular shape of the complexes and the organization of their mesomorphic phases are discussed, based on the refractive indices and X-ray data.  相似文献

Metal complexes composed of bidentate 1,2-bis(2-methyl-5-(4-pyridyl)-3-thienyl)perfluorocyclopentene (1a) and monodentate 1-(2-methyl-5-phenyl-3-thienyl)-2-(2-methyl-5-(4-pyridyl)-3-thienyl)perfluorocyclopentene (2a) photochromic ligands and M(hfac)(2) (M = Zn(II), Mn(II), and Cu(II)) were prepared, and their photoinduced coordination structural changes were studied. X-ray crystallographic analyses showed the formation of coordination polymers and discrete 1:2 complexes for bidentate and monodentate ligands, respectively. The complexes underwent reversible photochromic reactions by alternate irradiation with UV and visible lights in solution as well as in the single-crystalline phase. Upon photoirradiation with UV and visible light, the ESR spectra of the copper complexes of 1a reversibly changed. While the open-ring isomer gave an axial-type spectrum, the photogenerated closed-ring isomer showed a rhombic-type spectrum. This indicates that the photoisomerization induced the change in the coordination structure.  相似文献

Preparation of pentadentate ligands L1, L2, L3 and L4, where L1 = 4-chloro-3-methyl-2[(prolin-1-yl)methyl]-6-[N-phenyl piperazin-1-yl)methyl]phenol, L2 = 4-ethyl-2-[(prolin-1-yl)methyl]-6-[(N-phenyl piperazin-1-yl)methyl]phenol, L3 = 4-chloro-3-methyl-2-[(prolin-1-yl)methyl]-6-[N-methyl piperazin-1-yl]methyl phenol, L4 = 4-methoxy-2-[(prolin-1-yl)methyl]-6-[(N-phenyl piperazin-1-yl)methyl]phenol is described together with that of the corresponding Cu(II) complexes with various bridging motifs like OH, OAc and NO2. The complexes are characterized by elemental analysis, electrochemical and electron paramagnetic spectral studies. Redox properties of the complexes in acetonitrile are highly quasireversible due to the chemical or/and stereochemical changes subsequent to electron transfer. The complexes show resolved copper hyperfine EPR at room temperature, indicating the presence of weak antiferromagnetic coupling between the copper atoms. Strengths of the antiferromagnetic interactions are in the order NO2>OAc>OH.  相似文献

The reaction of nucleobases (adenine or purine) with a metallic salt in the presence of potassium oxalate in an aqueous solution yields one-dimensional complexes of formulas [M(mu-ox)(H(2)O)(pur)](n) (pur = purine, ox = oxalato ligand (2-); M = Cu(II) [1], Co(II) [2], and Zn(II) [3]), [Co(mu-ox)(H(2)O)(pur)(0.76)(ade)(0.24)](n)(4) and ([M(mu-ox)(H(2)O)(ade)].2(ade).(H(2)O))(n) (ade = adenine; M = Co(II) [5] and Zn(II) [6]). Their X-ray single-crystal structures, variable-temperature magnetic measurements, thermal behavior, and FT-IR spectroscopy are reported. The complexes 1-4 crystallize in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/a (No. 14) with similar crystallographic parameters. The compounds 5 and 6 are also isomorphous but crystallize in the triclinic space group P (No. 2). All compounds contain one-dimensional chains in which cis-[M(H(2)O)(L)](2+) units are bridged by bis-bidentate oxalato ligands with M(.)M intrachain distances in the range 5.23-5.57 A. In all cases, the metal atoms are six-coordinated by four oxalato oxygen atoms, one water molecule, and one nitrogen atom from a terminal nucleobase, building distorted octahedral MO(4)O(w)N surroundings. The purine ligand is bound to the metal atom through the most basic imidazole N9 atom in 1-4, whereas in 5 and 6 the minor groove site N3 of the adenine nucleobase is the donor atom. The crystal packing of compounds 5 and 6 shows the presence of uncoordinated adenine and water crystallization molecules. The cohesiveness of the supramolecular 3D structure of the compounds is achieved by means of an extensive network of noncovalent interactions (hydrogen bonds and pi-pi stacking interactions). Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements of the Cu(II) and Co(II) complexes in the range 2-300 K show the occurrence of antiferromagnetic intrachain interactions.  相似文献

Enantiopure trinuclear Cu(II) complexes 3 and 4 of macrocyclic amine 1 derived from the 3 + 3 condensation of 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol and (1S,2S)-1,2-diaminocyclohexane have been synthesized and characterized by ESI MS and NMR spectroscopy. The X-ray crystal structures of both complexes have been determined. The structure of the chloride derivative 3 indicates unusual combination of distorted tetragonal bipyramidal, square pyramidal and square geometries of the three Cu(II) ions bound by macrocycle 1. The acetate complex 4 also exhibits unsymmetrical trinuclear core with the bridging and terminal acetate anions. The complexation of Cu(II) ions by macrocycle 1 has been studied using potentiometric methods and both protonation and binding constants of 1 have been determined. The distribution of the complex forms indicates cooperative binding of three metal ions by 1. The overall magnetic behaviour for 3 corresponds to an antiferromagnetically coupled triangular system. Compound 4 shows the presence of antiferromagnetic coupling (J = -74.9(1) cm(-1)) between the metal centers in equilateral triangular array.  相似文献

The dinucleating macrocyclic ligands (L(2;2))(2-) and (L(2;3))(2-), comprised of two 2-[(N-methylamino)methyl]-6-(iminomethyl)-4-bromophenolate entities combined by the -(CH(2))(2)- chain between the two aminic nitrogen atoms and by the -(CH(2))(2)- or -(CH(2))(3)- chain between the two iminic nitrogen atoms, have afforded the following M(II)Cu(II) complexes: [CoCu(L(2;2))](ClO(4))(2).MeCN (1A), [NiCu(L(2;2))](ClO(4))(2) (2A), [ZnCu(L(2;2))](ClO(4))(2).0.5MeCN.EtOH (3A), [CoCu(L(2;3))(MeCN)(2-PrOH)](ClO(4))(2) (4A), [NiCu(L(2;3))](ClO(4))(2) (5A), and [ZnCu(L(2;3))](ClO(4))(2).1.5DMF (6A). [CoCu(L(2;2))(MeCN)(3)](ClO(4))(2) (1A') crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n, a = 11.691(2) A, b = 18.572(3) A, c = 17.058(3) A, beta= 91.18(2) degrees, V = 3703(1) A(3), and Z = 4. [NiCu(L(2;2))(DMF)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (2A') crystallizes in the triclinic space group P(-)1, a = 11.260(2) A, b = 16.359(6) A, c = 10.853(4) A, alpha= 96.98(3) degrees, beta= 91.18(2) degrees, gamma= 75.20(2) degrees, V = 1917(1) A(3), and Z = 2. 4A crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c, a = 15.064(8) A, b = 11.434(5) A, c = 21.352(5) A, beta= 95.83(2)degrees, V = 3659(2) A(3), and Z = 4. The X-ray crystallographic results demonstrate the M(II) to reside in the N(amine)(2)O(2) site and the Cu(II) in the N(imine)(2)O(2) site. The complexes 1-6 are regarded to be isomeric with [CuCo(L(2;2)))](ClO(4))(2).DMF (1B), [CuNi(L(2;2)))](ClO(4))(2).DMF.MeOH (2B), [CuZn(L(2;2)))](ClO(4))(2).H(2)O (3B)), [CuCo(L(2;3)))](ClO(4))(2).2H(2)O (4B), [CuNi(L(2;3)))](ClO(4))(2) (5B), and [CuZn(L(2;3)))](ClO(4))(2).H(2)O (6B) reported previously, when we ignore exogenous donating and solvating molecules. The isomeric M(II)Cu(II) and Cu(II)M(II) complexes are differentiated by X-ray structural, magnetic, visible spectroscopic, and electrochemical studies. The two isomeric forms are significantly stabilized by the "macrocyclic effect" of the ligands, but 1A is converted into 1B on an electrode, and 2A is converted into 2B at elevated temperature.  相似文献

Complexes of cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) with a new tetraaza macrocyclic ligand have been synthesized and characterized by microanalyses, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, mass, thermogravimetric (TGA), IR, 1H and 13C NMR, electronic and ESR spectral studies. All the complexes are found to have the formula [MLX2]x nH2O and are six-coordinated with distorted octahedral geometry.  相似文献

Cu(II) complexes of three tridentate ligands, L(1), L(2) and L(3), [L(1), N-((1H-imidazole-2-yl)methyl)-2-(pyridine-2-yl)ethanamine; L(2), N-((1-methyl-1H-imidazole-2-yl)methyl)-2-(pyridine-2-yl)ethanamine; L(3), 2-(pyridine-2-yl)-N-((pyridine-2-yl)methyl)ethanamine] respectively, were synthesized and characterized. The single crystal X-ray structure of complex 1 reveals the pseudo octahedral coordination geometry around the copper center. Absorption and fluorescence experimental evidence show good DNA binding propensity (in the order of 10(5) M(-1)) of the complexes. Thermal denaturation and circular dichroism (CD) analyses reveal minor structural changes of calf thymus (CT) DNA in presence of complexes and groove and/or surface binding of the complexes to CT-DNA. Kinetic DNA cleavage assay shows pseudo-first-order kinetic reaction between the complex and supercoiled (SC) DNA. In addition, mechanistic SC DNA cleavage results show higher DNA cleavage activity in presence of reducing agent, due to the presence of hydroxyl radicals. In vitro cytotoxicity assay of the complexes demonstrate that the complexes have low toxicity for different cancer cell lines and IC(50) values were between 37 and 156 μM.  相似文献

A series of Cu(I) and Cu(II) complexes containing substituted ketiminate ligands was synthesized. Reaction of CuCl2 with 2 equiv. of Li[OC(Me)CHC(Me)N(Ar)] in toluene generated dark green solid of Cu[OC(Me)CHC(Me)N(Ar)]2 (1). Similarly, Cu(I) complex, {Cu[OC(Me)CHC(Me)N(Ar)]Li[OC(Me)CHC(Me)N(Ar)]}2 (2) was synthesized by reacting 2 equiv. of Li[OC(Me)CHC(Me)N(Ar)] with CuCl in toluene at room temperature for 12 h. While the reaction of CuCl with Li[OC(Me)CHC(Me)N(Ar)] in the presence of triphenylphosphine in THF solution at room temperature, a three-coordinated Cu[OC(Me)CHC(Me)N(Ar)](PPh3) (3) can be isolated in high yield. Replacing the PPh3 of 3 with N-heterocarbene (NHC) generates Cu[OC(Me)CHC(Me)N(Ar)](NHC) (4) in low yield. Complexes 2, 3, and 4 were characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopies and all molecules were structurally characterized by X-ray diffractometry. Two coordination modes of ketiminate ligands were found in the molecular structure of 2, one of which is copper-coordinated terminal ketiminates and the other is lithium-copper-coordinated bridging ketiminates.  相似文献

The synthesis of the new terpyridine-containing macrocycle 2,5,8,11,14-pentaaza[15](6,6' ')cyclo(2,2':6',2' ')terpyridinophane (L) is reported. The ligand contains a pentaamine chain linking the 6,6' ' positions of a terpyridine unit. A potentiometric, (1)H NMR, UV-vis spectrophotometric and fluorescence emission study on the acid-base properties of L in aqueous solutions shows that the first four protonation steps occur on the polyamine chain, whereas the terpyridine nitrogens are involved in proton binding only at strongly acidic pH values. L can form both mono- and dinuclear Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Pb(II) complexes in aqueous solution. The crystal structures of the Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes ([ZnLH](2)(micro-OH))(ClO(4))(5) (6) and ([CdLH](2)(micro-Br))(ClO(4))(5).4H(2)O (7) show that two mononuclear [MLH](3+) units are coupled by a bridging anion (OH(-) in 6 and Br(-) in 7) and pi-stacking interactions between the terpyridine moieties. A potentiometric and spectrophotometric study shows that in the case of Cu(II) and Zn(II) the dimeric assemblies are also formed in aqueous solution containing the ligand and the metals in a 1:1 molar ratio. Protonation of the complexes or the addition of a second metal ion leads to the disruption of the dimers due to the increased electrostatic repulsions between the two monomeric units.  相似文献

Summary Stability constants for mixed-ligand complexes of the types [NiABH2], [NiABH] and [NiAB] formed by NiII with l-cysteine (cys), d-penicillamine (pen) or l-cysteic acid (cya) as ligand A and dl-2,3-diaminopropionic acid (dapa), dl-2,4-diaminobutyric acid (daba) or dl-ornithine (orn) as ligand B have been determined by the computerbased analysis of pH titration data obtained at 37 °C and I = 0.15 mol dm–3 (NaClO4). In the [NiABH] species, for all three secondary ligands (B), when A = pen or cya the labile proton appears to be attached to the terminal amino group of ligand B, whereas when A = cys it is not clear where the proton is located. In all the systems in the [NiABH2] species, one proton resides with the primary ligand (A) and the other with the secondary ligand (B). In the [NiAB]-type complexes, cys and pen chelate through the amino and thiolato groups, while cya binds in a glycine-like mode and the secondary ligands (B) coordinate in a terdentate manner.Author to whom all correspondence should be directed.  相似文献

Interaction of cobalt(II) ions and sodium carbacylamidophosphates Na(L) (HL=PhC(O)NHP(O)(NR2)2; where NR2 are morpholyl, HL1; NMe2, HL2; NEt2, HL3) in methanol solution afforded polynuclear alkoxo complexes [Co4{L1}3(OCH3)4(OH)(H2O)5·3H2O] 1 and [Co4{L}4(OCH3)4(CH3OH)4] (L=L2 2, L3 3). Data of spectral and TGA studies are presented. Coordination compounds 1 and 3 have been characterized by means of X-ray diffraction. Both the structures consist of tetranuclear cubane alkoxo clusters with methoxide ions bridging three metal centers (CoO 2.068(3)–2.093(4) Å) and phosphorylic ligands coordinated in a bidentatechelate fashion via the carbonyl oxygen atoms (CoO 1: 2.050(2); 3: 2.031(4) Å) and the phosphoryl groups (2.093(2) and 2.106(4) Å). Isolation of these cubane alkoxo complexes is an important proof for close resemblance in behavior of carbacylamidophosphate systems and β-diketonates towards transition metal ions.  相似文献

Summary The synthesis of binuclear complexes obtained by the reaction of aromatic diamines with the ternary complexes of copper(II) with bis(2-pyridyl)amine (dpa) as primary ligand and salicylaldehyde or 2-hydroxynaphthaldehyde as secondary ligand have been reported. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, conductance, electronic and i.r. spectral studies. Magnetic measurements indicate antiferromagnetic exchange between two copper(II) centres. E.s.r. spectra exhibit a Ms=2 transition, supporting the antiferromagnetic coupling.  相似文献

Deprotonation of the tridentate isoindoline ligand 1,3-bis[2-(4-methylpyridyl)imino]-isoindoline, 4'-MeLH, and reaction with hydrated zinc(II) perchlorate produces an unexpected trinuclear Zn(II) complex, [Zn(3)(4'-MeL)(4)](ClO(4))(2).5H(2)O (1), whereas reaction with hydrated copper(II) perchlorate in methanol produces the expected mononuclear product, [Cu(4'-MeL)(H(2)O)(2)]ClO(4) (2). X-ray diffraction shows that the trinuclear Zn(II) complex (1) contains a linear zinc backbone, and the arrangement of ligands about the outer chiral zinc(II) atoms is helical. The two terminal zinc ions exhibit approximate C(2) site symmetry, with tetrahedral coordination by two pyrrole and two pyridyl nitrogen atoms of the potentially tridentate isoindoline ligands. The central zinc ion exhibits approximate tetrahedral symmetry, with coordination by four pyridyl nitrogen atoms of four different isoindoline ligands. Pyridyl-pyrrole intramolecular pi-stacking interactions contribute to the stability of the trinuclear cation. The structure of the mononuclear copper(II) complex cation in 2 is best described as a distorted trigonal bipyramid. The isoindoline anion binds Cu(II) in both axial positions and one of the equatorial positions; water molecules occupy the other two equatorial positions.  相似文献

Two sterically hindered tris-pyridyl methane ligands, tris(6-methyl-2-pyridyl)methane (L1) and bis(6-methyl-2-pyridyl)pyridylmethane (L2), are newly synthesized. Under aerobic conditions, Ln (n = 1 or 2) reacts with CuX2 (X = Cl or Br), oxygenated at the methine position to LnOH or LnOMe. The former alcoholate ligand creates trinuclear Cu(II) complexes [Cu3(X)(LnO)3](PF6)2 [(X, n) = (Br, 1) 1, (C1, 1) 2, (Br, 2) 3, or (C1, 2) 4] in which the alkoxide oxygen atoms bridge copper centers. The crystal structures of 1-4 are presented along with their magnetic susceptibility data. The weak antiferromagnetic coupling between the Cu(II) centers in this trinuclear arrangement is due to weak interaction of the magnetic orbitals (dz2) which are oriented along three alternate sides in a hexagon of the Cu3O3 core in 1-4. Under anaerobic conditions, L1 reacts with CuBr2 to form a square pyramidal complex [CuL1Br2] (9) with the ligand facially capping. [Cu(Br)2(L1OMe)] (10) was obtained after the suspension of 9 in MeOH was stirred under air for 48 h. In the presence of cyclohexene, 9 is converted to [Cu(Br)(L1)]m (m = 1 or 2) 5 quantitatively to give trans- 1,2-dibromocyclohexane, indicating that Br2 is generated during the reaction. The FAB MS spectrum of [18O]-1 prepared by the reaction of L1 with CuBr2 under 18O2 shows that the ligand of [18O]-1 is L1(18O-.) L1(18OH), L1OCD3, and bis(6-methyl-2-pyridyl) ketone were obtained from reaction of L1 with CuBr2 in CD3OD under 18O2. These results indicate that the origins of the O atom in L1OH and L1OMe are O2 and MeOH, respectively. On the basis of these results, a mechanism of the oxygenation of L1 in the present system will be proposed.  相似文献

The chemical equilibria involved in nine mixed ligand systems Zn(II)-L-cysteine (Cys)/D-penicillamine(Pen)/L-cysteic acid(Cya)(A)-imidazole(Him), histamine(Hist) and L-histidine(His)(B) have been investigated in aqueous perchlorate medium by pH titrimetry at 37 degrees and ionic strength, I = 0.15M (NaClO(4)). The mixed ligand complex species of the types ZnABH(2), ZnABH, ZnAB or ZnAB(2) have been detected in addition to various binary species due to ligands A and B. The results obtained for the ZnABH type of species indicate that the site of protonation is the amino group of Cys/Pen ligands in the Zn(II)-Cys/Pen(A)-Him, Hist and His(B) systems, and the amino group of Hist/His secondary ligands in the Zn(II)-Cya(A)-Hist and His(B) systems. In the ZnABH(2) type of species, one proton is attached with the primary ligand (A) and the other with the secondary ligand(B). In both ZnAB and ZnAB(2) type ternary species in all the systems, the primary ligand binds the metal in a bidentate manner and the secondary ligands Him, Hist and His bind the metal, respectively in a uni, bi and terdentate manner.  相似文献
