Reactions of Au(+)((1)S) and Au(+)((3)D) with CH(3)F and CH(3)Cl have been carried out in a drift cell in He at a pressure of 3.5 Torr at both room temperature and reduced temperatures in order to explore the influence of the electronic state of the metal on reaction outcomes. State-specific product channels and overall two-body rate constants were identified using electronic state chromatography. These results indicate that Au(+)((1)S) reacts to yield an association product in addition to AuCH(2)(+) in parallel steps with both neutrals. Product distributions for association vs HX elimination were determined to be 79% association/21% HX elimination for X = F and 50% association/50% HX elimination when X = Cl. Reaction of Au(+)((3)D) with CH(3)F also results in HF elimination, which in this case is thought to produce (3)AuCH(2)(+). With CH(3)Cl, Au(+)((3)D) reacts to form AuCH(3)(+) and CH(3)Cl(+) in parallel steps. An additional product channel initiated by Au(+)((3)D) is also observed with both methyl halides, which yields CH(2)X(+) as a higher-order product. Kinetic measurements indicate that the reaction efficiency for both Au(+) states is significantly greater with CH(3)Cl than with CH(3)F. The observed two-body rate constant for depletion of Au(+)((1)S) by CH(3)F represents less than 5% of the limiting rate constant predicted by the average dipole orientation model (ADO) at room temperature and 226 K, whereas CH(3)Cl reacts with Au(+)((1)S) at the ADO limit at both room temperature and 218 K. Rate constants for depletion of Au(+)((3)D) by CH(3)F and CH(3)Cl were measured at 226 and 218 K respectively, and indicate that Au(+)((3)D) is consumed at approximately 2% of the ADO limit by CH(3)F and 69% of the ADO limit by CH(3)Cl. Product formation and overall efficiency for all four reactions are consistent with previous experimental results and available theoretical models.  相似文献

The reactions of gas-phase Cu+(1S) and Cu+(3D) with CH3Cl, CH2ClF, CHClF2, and CClF3 are examined using the drift cell technique at 3.5 Torr. State-specific product channels and overall bimolecular rate constants for depletion of the two Cu+ states are determined using electronic state chromatography. Cu+(1S) participates exclusively in association with all four neutrals, whereas Cl abstraction is the dominant product channel for Cu+(3D). The resulting CuCl+ product subsequently abstracts Cl- in a secondary process. Tertiary reactions are also observed, which include both hydride abstraction (with CH3Cl) and fluoride abstraction (with the fluorinated neutrals). All product channels can be understood in terms of the known thermochemical and quantum mechanical (i.e., spin) requirements. Cu+(1S) is depleted by all four neutrals at 30% to 40% of the ADO rate under these conditions, whereas Cu+(3D) is observed to react at approximately 80% of the ADO rate with CH3Cl, CH2ClF, and CHClF2. Reaction of excited state Cu+ with CClF3 occurs at only 7% of the ADO rate. The behavior of Cu+(3D) is consistent with a mechanism in which formation of CuCl+ occurs exclusively on the triplet surface via a mechanism in which the metal ion must interact exclusively with Cl.  相似文献

PX(4) (+)[Al(OR)(4)](-) (X=I: 1 a, X=Br: 1 b) was prepared from X(2), PX(3), and Ag[Al(OR)(4)] [R=C(CF(3))(3)] in CH(2)Cl(2) at -30 degrees C in 69-86 % yield. P(2)X(5) (+) salts were prepared from 2 PX(3) and Ag[Al(OR)(4)] in CH(2)Cl(2) at -30 degrees C yielding almost quantitatively P(2)X(5) (+)[Al(OR)(4)](-) (X=I: 3 a, X=Br: 3 b). The phosphorus-rich P(5)X(2) (+) salts arose from the reaction of cold (-78 degrees C) mixtures of PX(3), P(4), and Ag[Al(OR)(4)] giving P(5)X(2) (+)[Al(OR)(4)](-) (X=I: 4 a, X=Br: 4 b) with a C(2v)-symmetric P(5) cage. Silver salt metathesis presumably generated unstable PX(2) (+) cations from PX(3) and Ag[Al(OR)(4)] (X=Br, I) that acted as electrophilic carbene analogues and inserted into the Xbond;X (Pbond;X/Pbond;P) bond of X(2) (PX(3)/P(4)) leading to the highly electrophilic and CH(2)Cl(2)-soluble PX(4) (+) (P(2)X(5) (+)/P(5)X(2) (+)) salts. Reactions that aimed to synthesize P(2)I(3) (+) from P(2)I(4) and Ag[Al(OR)(4)] instead led to anion decomposition and the formation of P(2)I(5)(CS(2))(+)[(RO)(3)Al-F-Al(OR)(3)](-) (5). All salts were characterized by variable-temperature solution NMR studies (3 b also by (31)P MAS NMR), Raman and/or IR spectroscopy as well as X-ray crystallography (with the exception of 4 a). The thermochemical volumes of the Pbond;X cations are 121 (PBr(4) (+)), 161 (PI(4) (+)), 194 (P(2)Br(5) (+)), 271 (P(2)I(5) (+)), and 180 A(3) (P(5)Br(2) (+)). The observed reactions were fully accounted for by thermochemical calculations based on (RI-)MP2/TZVPP ab initio results and COSMO solvation enthalpy calculations (CH(2)Cl(2) solution). The enthalpies of formation of the gaseous Pbond;X cations were derived as +764 (PI(4) (+)), +617 (PBr(4) (+)), +749 (P(2)I(5) (+)), +579 (P(2)Br(5) (+)), +762 (P(5)I(2) (+)), and +705 kJ mol(-1) (P(5)Br(2) (+)). The insertion of the intermediately prepared carbene analogue PX(2) (+) cations into the respective bonds were calculated, at the (RI-)MP2/TZVPP level, to be exergonic at 298 K in CH(2)Cl(2) by Delta(r)G(CH(2)Cl(2))=-133.5 (PI(4) (+)), -183.9 (PBr(4) (+)), -106.5 (P(2)I(5) (+)), -81.5 (P(2)Br(5) (+)), -113.2 (P(5)I(2) (+)), and -114.5 kJ mol(-1) (P(5)Br(2) (+)).  相似文献

We report threshold electron energy-loss spectra for the fluorohalomethanes CF3X (X=Cl,Br). Measurements were made at incident electron energies of 30 and 100 eV in energy-loss range of 4-14 eV, and at scattering angles of 4 degrees and 15 degrees. Several new electronic transitions are observed which are ascribable to excitation of low-lying states as well as are intrinsically overlapped in the molecules themselves. Assignments of these electronic transitions are suggested. These assignments are based on present spectroscopic and cross-section measurements, high-energy scattering spectra, and ab initio molecular orbital calculations. The calculated potential curves along the C-X bond show repulsive nature, suggesting that these transitions may lead to dissociation of the C-X bond. The present results are also compared with the previous ones for CF3H, CF4, and CF3I.  相似文献

The reactions of Cl atoms with XCH2I (X = H, CH3, Cl, Br, I) have been studied using cavity ring-down spectroscopy in 25-125 Torr total pressure of N2 diluent at 250 K. Formation of the XCH2I-Cl adduct is the dominant channel in all reactions. The visible absorption spectrum of the XCH2I-Cl adduct was recorded at 405-632 nm. Absorption cross-sections at 435 nm are as follows (in units of 10(-18) cm2 molecule(-1)): 12 for CH3I, 21 for CH3CH2I, 3.7 for CH2ICl, 7.1 for CH2IBr, and 3.7 for CH2I2. Rate constants for the reaction of Cl with CH3I were determined from rise profiles of the CH3I-Cl adduct. k(Cl + CH3I) increases from (0.4 +/- 0.1) x 10(-11) at 25 Torr to (2.0 +/- 0.3) x 10(-11) cm3 molecule(-1) s(-1) at 125 Torr of N2 diluent. There is no discernible reaction of the CH3I-Cl adduct with 5-10 Torr of O2. Evidence for the formation of an adduct following the reaction of Cl atoms with CF3I and CH3Br was sought but not found. Absorption attributable to the formation of the XCH2I-Cl adduct following the reaction of Cl atoms with XCH2I (X = H, CH3, Br, I) was measured as a function of temperature over the range 250-320 K.  相似文献

First examples of the coordination chemistry of the PAs(3)S(3) cage were obtained from solutions of PAs(3)S(3)·W(CO)(5) (1) in CH(2)Cl(2) or CH(2)Cl(2)/toluene and CuX (X = Cl, Br, I) in MeCN through interdiffusion techniques. Crystals of [Cu(PAs(3)S(3))(4)]X (2, X = Cl; 3, X = Br) and [(Cu(2)I)(PAs(3)S(3))(3)]I (4) were obtained and characterized by Raman spectroscopy (2) and single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The solid-state structures reveal an unexpected coordination versatility of the PAs(3)S(3) ligand: apical phosphorus and bridging sulfur atoms interact with copper, while As···X interactions determine the dimensionality of the frameworks. The structures of 2 and 3 contain tetrahedral [(PAs(3)S(3))(4)Cu](+) cations as secondary building units (SBUs), which are arranged by interactions with Cl(-) or Br(-) anions into two- and three-dimensional substructures. These interpenetrate into a (2D + 3D) polycatenane. Compound 4 is built up by a one-dimensional [(Cu(2)I)(PAs(3)S(3))(3)](n)(n+) ribbon with PAs(3)S(3) cages as P,S-linkers. The As atoms of the exo PAs(3)S(4) linkers interact with iodide counterions (3.35 < d(As-I) < 3.59 ?). The resulting two-dimensional layer is organized by weak As···I interactions (d(As-I = 3.87 ?) into a 3D network.  相似文献

High-energy collisionally activated dissociation (HE-CAD) and high-energy electron- transfer dissociation (HE-ETD) on collisions with alkali-metal targets (Cs, K, and Na) were investigated for CH(2)X(2) (+) (X = Cl, Br, and I) ions by tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS). In the HE-CAD spectra observed, peaks associated with CH(2)X(+) ions formed by a loss of a halogen atom are always predominant regardless of precursor ions and target metals. The observation of the predominant CH(2)X(+) ions is explained by the lowest energy levels of the fragments of CH(2)X(+) + X among the possible fragment energy levels and internal-energy distribution in HE-CAD. In the charge-inversion spectra, relative peak intensities of the negative ions formed by HE-ETD strongly depend on the precursor ions and the target metals. While the CHCl(2) (-) ion was predominant in the spectra of CH(2)Cl(2) (+) regardless of target species, the most intense peaks in those of CH(2)Br(2) (+) and CH(2)I(2) (+) were ascribed to either Br(-) or CH(2)Br(-) and either I(-) or I(2) (-), respectively, depending on the target metals. The dependence of the relative intensities of the fragment ions by HE-ETD on the precursor ions and target species are discussed on the basis of the energy levels of the neutral fragments and the narrow internal-energy distribution resulting from the near-resonant neutralization. It was demonstrated that HE-ETD using the alkali-metal targets provided rich information on the dissociation of the neutral species.  相似文献

Identity ion-pair S(N)2 reactions LiX + CH(3)X --> XCH(3) + LiX (X = F, Cl, Br, and I) have been investigated in the gas phase and in solution at the level of the modified Gaussian-2 theory. Two possible reaction mechanisms, inversion and retention, are discussed. The reaction barriers relative to the complexes for the inversion mechanism [DeltaH(cent) ( not equal )(inv)] are found to be much higher than the corresponding values for the gas phase anionic S(N)2 reactions, decreasing in the following order: F (263.6 kJ mol(-1)) > Cl (203.3 kJ mol(-1)) > Br (174.7 kJ mol(-1)) > I (150.7 kJ mol(-1)). The barrier gaps between the two mechanisms [DeltaH(cent) ( not equal ) (ret) - DeltaH(cent) ( not equal ) (inv)] increase in the order F (-62.7 kJ mol(-1)) < Cl (4.4 kJ mol(-1)) < Br (24.9 kJ mol(-1)) < I (45.1 kJ mol(-1)). Thus, the retention mechanism is energetically favorable for fluorine and the inversion mechanism is favored for other halogens, in contrast to the anionic S(N)2 reactions at carbon where the inversion reaction channel is much more favorable for all of the halogens. The stabilization energies for the dipole-dipole complexes CH(3)X. LiX (DeltaH(comp)) are found to be similar for the entire set of systems with X = F, Cl, Br, and I, ranging from 53.4 kJ mol(-1) for I up to 58.9 kJ mol(-1) for F. The polarizable continuum model (PCM) has been used to evaluate the direct solvent effects on the energetics of the anionic and ion-pair S(N)2 reactions. The energetic profiles are found to be still double-well shaped for most of the ion-pair S(N)2 reactions in the solution, but the potential profile for reaction LiI + CH(3)I is predicted to be unimodal in the protic solvent. Good correlations between central barriers [DeltaH(cent) ( not equal ) (inv)] with the geometric looseness of the inversion transition state %C-X( not equal ), the dissociation energies of the C-X bond (D(C-X)) and Li-X bond (D(Li-X)) are observed, respectively.  相似文献

Self-assembly of four bis(pyridyl) ligands with longer flexible spacer: 1,4-bis(3-pyridylaminomethyl)benzene (L1), 1,4-bis(2-pyridylaminomethyl)benzene (L2), 1,3-bis(3-pyridylaminomethyl)benzene (L3) and 1,3-bis(2-pyridylaminomethyl)benzene (L4), and CuX (X = Br and I) leads to the formation of eight [Cu(n)X(n)]-based (X = Br and I; n = 1, 2, and 4) complexes, [Cu(2)I(2)L1(PPh(3))(4)] (1), [Cu(4)Cl(2)Br(2)(L4)(2)(PPh(3))(6)]·(CH(3)CN)(2) (2), [Cu(2)I(2)(L3)(2)] (3), {[Cu(2)Br(2)L2(PPh(3))(2)]·(CH(2)Cl(2))(2)}(n) (4), [CuIL1](n)·nCH(2)Cl(2) (5), [CuIL1](n) (6), [CuIL4](n) (7) and [Cu(2)I(2)L4](n) (8), which have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, TG, powder and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Structural analyses show that the eight complexes possess an increasing dimensionality from 0D (1-3) to 1D (4) to 2D (5-8), in which 1 and 2 contain a CuX unit, 2-7 contain a Cu(2)X(2) unit and 8 contains a Cu(4)X(4) unit. Such evolvement indicates that the conformation of flexible bis(pyridyl) ligands and the participation of triphenylphosphine (PPh(3)) as a second ligand take an essential role in the framework formation of the Cu(i) complexes. Moreover, a pair of symmetry-related L3 ligands in complex 3 coordinate to the rhomboid Cu(2)I(2) dimer to form "handcuff-shaped" dinuclear structures, which are further joined together through intermolecular N-HI hydrogen bonds to furnish a 2D (4,4) layer. Although complexes 5 and 6 exhibit a similar 2D (4,4) layer constructed from L1 ligand bridging [Cu(2)I(2)](n) units, the different packing fashion of the layers leads to the formation of 3D porous frameworks of 5 and dense 3D frameworks of 6. The "twisted-boat" conformation of the Cu(4)I(4) tetramer unit in complex 8 has not been reported so far.  相似文献

Whereas the reaction of the anionic palladium metallacycle [K[Pd(CH2CMe2-o-C6H4)(kappa2-Tp)]] with CH2Cl2 leads to the isolation of the stable Pd(IV) chloromethyl complex [Pd(CH2CMe2-o-C6H4)(kappa3-Tp)(CH2Cl)], the analogous reactions with CH2Br2 and CH2I2 give rise to the six membered metallacycles [Pd(CH2CMe2-o-C6H4(CH2))(kappa3-Tp)X](X = Br or I), as a result of the formal insertion of CH2 into the Pd-C(aryl) bond.  相似文献

The stoichiometric and catalytic activations of alkyl halides and acid chlorides by the unsatured Pd(3)(dppm)(3)(CO)(2+) cluster (Pd(3)(2+)) are investigated in detail. A series of alkyl halides (R-X; R = t-Bu, Et, Pr, Bu, allyl; X = Cl, Br, I) react slowly with Pd(3)(2+) to form the corresponding Pd(3)(X)(+) adduct and "R(+)". This activation can proceed much faster if it is electrochemically induced via the formation of the paramagnetic species Pd(3)(+). The latter is the first confidently identified paramagnetic Pd cluster. The kinetic constants extracted from the evolution of the UV-vis spectra for the thermal activation, as well as the amount of electricity to bring the activation to completion for the electrochemically induced reactions, correlate the relative C-X bond strength and the steric factors. The highly reactive "R(+)" species has been trapped using phenol to afford the corresponding ether. On the other hand, the acid chlorides react rapidly with Pd(3)(2+) where no induction is necessary. The analysis of the cyclic voltammograms (CV) establishes that a dissociative mechanism operates (RCOCl --> RCO(+) + Cl(-); R = t-Bu, Ph) prior to Cl(-) scavenging by the Pd(3)(2+) species. For the other acid chlorides (R = n-C(6)H(13), Me(2)CH, Et, Me, Pr), a second associative process (Pd(3)(2+) + RCOCl --> Pd(3)(2+.....)Cl(CO)(R)) is seen. Addition of Cu(NCMe)(4)(+) or Ag(+) leads to the abstraction of Cl(-) from Pd(3)(Cl)(+) to form Pd(3)(2+) and the insoluble MCl materials (M = Cu, Ag) allowing to regenerate the starting unsaturated cluster, where the precipitation of MX drives the reaction. By using a copper anode, the quasi-quantitative catalytic generation of the acylium ion ("RCO(+)") operates cleanly and rapidly. The trapping of "RCO(+)" with PF(6)(-) or BF(4)(-) leads to the corresponding acid fluorides and, with an alcohol (R'OH), to the corresponding ester catalytically, under mild conditions. Attempts were made to trap the key intermediates "Pd(3)(Cl)(+)...M(+)" (M(+) = Cu(+), Ag(+)), which was successfully performed for Pd(3)(ClAg)(2+), as characterized by (31)P NMR, IR, and FAB mass spectrometry. During the course of this investigation, the rare case of PF(6)(-) hydrolysis has been observed, where the product PF(2)O(2)(-) anion is observed in the complex Pd(3)(PF(2)O(2))(+), where the substrate is well-located inside the cavity formed by the dppm-Ph groups above the unsatured face of the Pd(3)(2+) center. This work shows that Pd(3)(2+) is a stronger Lewis acid in CH(2)Cl(2) and THF than AlCl(3), Ag(+), Cu(+), and Tl(+).  相似文献

The photodissociation of CH2XCH2Y (X,Y=Br,Cl) through absorption of 193 nm photons was investigated using product translational spectroscopy. No stable CH2BrCH2 or CH2ClCH2 was detected. The recorded time-of-flight spectra indicate that these internally excited radicals dissociated into Y+C2H4 in a concerted reaction with the first C-X bond rupture. Product anisotropy implies that the overall reaction time for three-body formation is in a fraction of rotational period. According to an asynchronous concerted reaction model, the measured spectra were simulated with product translational energy distributions coupled by asymmetric angular distributions. For the mixed halide, CH2BrCH2Cl, triple products Br+Cl+C2H4 can be originated from the cleavage of either the C-Br bond or the C-Cl bond. The results are discussed and where appropriate, comparisons with previous investigations of the related molecules are included.  相似文献

A combined experimental and theoretical investigation of the ultraviolet photolysis of CH2XI (where X = Cl, Br, I) dihalomethanes in water is presented. Ultraviolet photolysis of low concentrations of CH2XI (where X = Cl, Br, I) in water appears to lead to almost complete conversion into CH2(OH)2 and HX and HI products. Picosecond time-resolved resonance Raman (ps-TR3) spectroscopy experiments revealed that noticeable amounts of CH2X-I isodihalomethane intermediates were formed within several picoseconds after photolysis of the CH2XI parent compound in mixed aqueous solutions. The ps-TR3 experiments in mixed aqueous solutions revealed that the decay of the CH2X-I isodihalomethane intermediates become significantly shorter as the water concentration increases, indicating that the CH2X-I intermediates may be reacting with water. Ab initio calculations found that the CH2X-I intermediates are able to react relatively easily with water via a water-catalyzed O-H insertion/HI elimination reaction to produce CH2X(OH) and HI products, with the barrier for these reactions increasing as X changes from Cl to Br to I. The ab initio calculations also found that the CH2X(OH) product can undergo a water-catalyzed HX elimination reaction to make H2C=O and HX products, with the barrier to reaction decreasing as X changes from Cl to Br to I. The preceding two water-catalyzed reactions produce the HI and HX leaving groups observed experimentally, and the H2C=O product further reacts with water to make the other CH2(OH)2 product observed in the photochemistry experiments. This suggests that that the CH2X-I intermediates react with water to form the CH2(OH)2 and HI and HX products observed in the photochemistry experiments. Ultraviolet photolysis of CH2XI (where X = Cl, Br, I) at low concentrations in water-solvated environments appears to lead to efficient dehalogenation and release of two strong acid leaving groups. We very briefly discuss the potential influence of this photochemistry in water on the decomposition of polyhalomethanes and halomethanols in aqueous environments.  相似文献

The reaction of a trinuclear rhenium sulfide cluster compound Re3S7Cl7 with dimethylphenylphosphine and CuX2 (X = Cl or Br) or CuX (X = Cl, Br, or I) formed tetranuclear cluster complexes [(Ph3P)2N][Re3(CuX)(mu3-S)4Cl6(PMe2Ph)3] (X = Cl, Br, or I). Their solutions have the characteristic intense blue color with visible spectral bands near 600 nm. Single-crystal X-ray structures show that three mu-S atoms in the intermediate trinuclear rhenium complex coordinate to a copper atom, forming elongated tetrahedral structures in which Re-Cu bonding interaction is negligible (Re-Cu distances are 3.50 to approximately 3.54 A as compared with Re-Re distances ranging from 2.69 to 2.81 A).  相似文献

Treatment of [[Ru(P(OCH3)3)2(CH3CN)3]2(mu-Q2)](CF3SO3)4 (1, Q = S; 2, Q = Se) with haloalkenes resulted in the formation of complexes carrying unsaturated C3Q2 five-membered or C4Q2 six-membered rings via elimination of HX (X = Cl, Br). The reactions of 1 and 2 with allyl bromide gave the corresponding addition products, [[Ru(P(OCH3)3)2(CH3CN)3]2(mu-QCH=CHCH2Q)](CF3SO3)4 (3, Q = S; 4, Q = Se), via elimination of HBr. The elimination process seems to be thermodynamically controlled and takes place at the final stage of the reaction. The steric effect of the halogen atoms seems more operative than the electronic one.  相似文献

Realgar, As(4)S(4), reacts with Cr(CO)(5)THF under cage degradation to give As(4)S(3)·Cr(CO)(5) (1). The reverse structural change is found if solutions of 1 in CH(2)Cl(2) react with equimolar amounts of PAs(3)S(3)·W(CO)(5) and CuX (X = Cl, Br, I) in CH(3)CN under biphasic diffusion conditions. The resulting coordination polymers 2-4 contain a reconstituted realgar molecule along with the PAs(3)S(3) cage. The crystal structures of (CuX)(As(4)S(4))(PAs(3)S(3)) (X = Cl: 2; Br: 3) are characterized by one-dimensional (1D) (CuX)(As(4)S(4)) strands, which are formed by alternating As(4)S(4) cages and CuX dumbbells. Terminal PAs(3)S(3) molecules are coordinated to copper by apical phosphorus and bridging realgar through sulfur. The As(3) triangles of the resulting (CuX)(As(4)S(4))(PAs(3)S(3)) strands interact with halides of neighbored strands to give a folded three-dimensional (3D) network. The structure of (CuI)(3)(As(4)S(4))(PAs(3)S(3)) (4) contains 1D (Cu(3)I(3))(n) strands as backbones, which are bridged by sulfur atoms of two η(1:2)-As(4)S(4) molecules while PAs(3)S(3) confines the resulting sheet. The As(3) triangles at the surface of the layers interact with iodide of the next layer to form a layered 3D network.  相似文献

A complete series of copper(ii) halide complexes [CuX(tptm)](X = F (), Cl (), Br (), I (); tptm = tris(2-pyridylthio)methyl) with a novel Cu(II)-C(sp(3)) bond has been prepared by the reactions of [Cu(tptm)(CH(3)CN)]PF(6)(.PF(6)) with corresponding halide sources of KF or n-Bu(4)NX (X = Cl, Br, I), and the trigonal bipyramidal structures have been confirmed by X-ray crystallography and/or EPR spectroscopy. The iodide complex easily liberates the iodide anion in acetonitrile forming the acetonitrile complex as a result. The EPR spectra of the complexes showed several superhyperfine structures that strongly indicated the presence of spin density on the halide ligands through the Cu-X bond. The results of DFT calculations essentially matched with the X-ray crystallographic and the EPR spectroscopic results. Cyclic voltammetry revealed a quasi-reversible reduction wave for Cu(II)/Cu(I) indicating a trigonal pyramidal coordination for Cu(I) states. A coincidence of the redox potential for all [CuX(tptm)](0/+) processes indicates that the main oxidation site in each complex is the tptm ligand.  相似文献

Density functional theory computations and pulsed-ionization high-pressure mass spectrometry experiments have been used to explore the potential energy surfaces for gas-phase S(N)2 reactions between halide ions and trifluoromethyl halides, X(-) + CF(3)Y --> Y(-) + CF(3)X. Structures of neutrals, ion-molecule complexes, and transition states show the possibility of two mechanisms: back- and front-side attack. From pulsed-ionization high-pressure mass spectrometry, enthalpy and entropy changes for the equilibrium clustering reactions for the formation of Cl(-)(BrCF(3)) (-16.5 +/- 0.2 kcal mol(-1) and -24.5 +/- 1 cal mol(-1) K(-1)), Cl(-)(ICF(3)) (-23.6 +/- 0.2 kcal mol(-1)), and Br(-)(BrCF(3)) (-13.9 +/- 0.2 kcal mol(-1) and -22.2 +/- 1 cal mol(-1) K(-1)) have been determined. These are in good to excellent agreement with computations at the B3LYP/6-311+G(3df)//B3LYP/6-311+G(d) level of theory. It is shown that complex formation takes place by a front-side attack complex, while the lowest energy S(N)2 reaction proceeds through a back-side attack transition state. This latter mechanism involves a potential energy profile which closely resembles a condensed phase S(N)2 reaction energy profile. It is also shown that the Cl(-) + CF(3)Br --> Br(-) + CF(3)Cl S(N)2 reaction can be interpreted using Marcus theory, in which case the reaction is described as being initiated by electron transfer. A potential energy surface at the B3LYP/6-311+G(d) level of theory confirms that the F(-) + CF(3)Br --> Br(-) + CF(4) S(N)2 reaction proceeds through a Walden inversion transition state.  相似文献

The gas-phase ion chemistry of 1,1,1- and 1,1,2-trichlorotrifluoroethane was investigated with an ion trap mass spectrometer. Following electron ionization both compounds (M) fragment to [M - Cl](+), CX(3)(+), CX(2)(+), CX(+) (X = F and/or Cl) and Cl(+). The reactivity of each of these fragments towards their neutral precursors was studied to obtain product and kinetic data. Whereas [M - Cl](+), CCl(3)(+) and CCl(2)F(+) cations are unreactive under the experimental conditions used, all other species react via halide abstraction to give [M - Cl](+) and, to a far lesser extent, [M - F](+). In addition, CX(2)(+) ions form CClX(2)(+) in a process which formally amounts to chlorine atom abstraction, but more likely involves chloride ion abstraction followed by charge transfer. CX(+) ions also form minor amounts of CX(3)(+) product ions, possibly via chloride abstraction followed by or concerted with dihalocarbene elimination from the (incipient) [M - Cl](+) ion. Trivalent carbenium ions are less reactive than divalent species, which in turn are less reactive than the monovalent ions (reaction efficiencies are given in parentheses): CF(3)(+)(0.70) < CF(2)(+)(0.78) < CF(+)(0.96). More interestingly, within each family of ions reactivity increases with the number of fluorine substituents (e.g. CF(2)(+) > CFCl(+) > CCl(2)(+) and CF(+) > CCl(+)), i.e. reactivity increases with the ion thermochemical stability, as measured by available standard free enthalpies of formation. Evaluation of the energetics involved shows that reactions are largely driven by the stability of the neutrals more than of the ions. Finally, the products observed in the reaction of Cl(+) are attributed to ionization of the neutral via charge transfer and fragmentation.  相似文献

Coordination of Cu(I) halides with N,N'-dimethylimidazole selone (dmise) and thione (dmit) ligands was examined by treating CuX (X = Cl, Br, I) with one or two equivalents of dmise or dmit. The reaction of CuI and CuBr with one molar equivalent of dmise results in unusual selenium-bridged tetrameric Cu(4)(μ-dmise)(4)(μ-X)(2)X(2) copper complexes with average Cu-Se bond lengths of 2.42 ? and a Cu(2)(μ-X)(2) core (X = I (1) or Br (6)) that's in a rhomboidal structure. The reaction of CuX (X = Cl, Br, and I) with two equivalents of dmit or dmise results in trigonal planar Cu(I) complexes of two different conformations with the formula Cu(dmit)(2)X (3a, 3b, 4, and 7) or Cu(dmise)(2)X (2, 5, and 8) with average Cu-S and Cu-Se bond lengths of 2.23 ? and 2.34 ?, respectively. The coordination geometry around the copper center in complexes 1 to 8 is determined by the type of halide and chalcogenone ligand used, intramolecular π-π interactions, and short contact interactions between X-H (X = I, Br, Cl, Se or S). The theoretical DFT calculations are in good agreement with experimental X-ray structural data and indicate that dmise ligands are required for formation of the tetrameric complexes 1 and 6. Electrochemical studies show that the trigonal copper selone complexes have more negative potentials relative to analogous copper thione complexes by an average of 108 mV.  相似文献
