Given a finite measure space (X,M,μ) and given metric spaces Y and Z, we prove that if is a sequence of arbitrary mappings that converges in outer measure to an M-measurable mapping and if is a mapping that is continuous at each point of the image of f, then the sequence gfn converges in outer measure to gf. We must use convergence in outer measure, as opposed to (pure) convergence in measure, because of certain set-theoretic difficulties that arise when one deals with nonseparably valued measurable mappings. We review the nature of these difficulties in order to give appropriate motivation for the stated result.  相似文献

The aim of this note is to generalize the concept of warped product to a foliated manifold (M,F,g) as follows: If is a smooth function constant along the leaves of the foliation F then new metric structure gf on the manifold M is constructed as follows: gf(v,w)=f2g(v,w) if v,w are tangent to F and gf(v,w)=g(v,w) if v or w is perpendicular to F. A foliated manifold (M,F,gf) is called warped foliation while f is called warping function.Next, if is a sequence of warping functions on M, the question of the existence of the limit in Gromov-Hausdorff of a sequence ((M,F,gfn))nN warped foliation is asked. A number of examples is considered such foliations with dense leaf or foliations consisting of finite number of Reeb components. Next, sufficient and necessary condition of converging in Gromov-Hausdorff sense of a Riemannian foliation with all leaves compact to the space of leaves with a metric defined by Hausdorff distance of leaves is developed. Finally some results on Hausdorff foliations with all leaves compact are shown.  相似文献

A morphism of left R-modules is a phantom morphism if for any morphism , with A finitely presented, the composition fg factors through a projective module. Equivalently, Tor1(X,f)=0 for every right R-module X. It is proved that every R-module possesses a phantom cover, whose kernel is pure injective. If is the category of finitely presented right R-modules modulo projectives, then the association M?Tor1(−,M) is a functor from the category of left R-modules to that of the flat functors on . The phantom cover is used to characterize when this functor is faithful or full. It is faithful if and only if the flat cover of every module has a pure injective kernel; this is equivalent to the flat cover being the phantom cover. The question of fullness is only reasonable when the functor is restricted to the subcategory of cotorsion modules. This restriction is full if and only if every phantom cover of a cotorsion module is pure injective.  相似文献

Let f, g be entire functions. If there exist M1,M2>0 such that |f(z)|?M1|g(z)| whenever |z|>M2 we say that f?g. Let X be a reproducing Hilbert space with an orthogonal basis . We say that X is an ordered reproducing Hilbert space (or X is ordered) if f?g and gX imply fX. In this note, we show that if then X is ordered; if then X is not ordered. In the case , there are examples to show that X can be of order or opposite.  相似文献

Consider the surjective, continuous map f:XX and the continuous map of K(X) into itself induced by f, where X is a compact metric space and K(X) is the space of all non-empty compact subsets of X endowed with a Hausdorff metric. In this paper we give examples showing that sensitivity of f does not imply sensitivity of . Furthermore, we prove that if f is a surjective, continuous interval map, then is sensitive if and only if f is sensitive.  相似文献

Let M be a Mackey functor for a finite group G. In this paper, generalizing the Dold-Thom construction, we construct an ordinary equivariant homotopical homology theory with coefficients in M, whose values on the category of finite G-sets realize the bifunctor M, both covariantly and contravariantly. Furthermore, we extend the contravariant functor to define a transfer in the theory for G-equivariant covering maps. This transfer is given by a continuous homomorphism between topological abelian groups. We prove a formula for the composite of the transfer and the projection of a G-equivariant covering map and characterize those Mackey functors M for which that formula has an expression analogous to the classical one.  相似文献

Let M denote the class of functions f meromorphic outside some compact totally disconnected set E=E(f) and the cluster set of f at any aE with respect to is equal to . It is known that class M is closed under composition. Let f and g be two functions in class M, we study relationship between dynamics of fg and gf. Denote by F(f) and J(f) the Fatou and Julia sets of f. Let U be a component of F(fg) and V be a component of F(gf) which contains g(U). We show that under certain conditions U is a wandering domain if and only if V is a wandering domain; if U is periodic, then so is V and moreover, V is of the same type according to the classification of periodic components as U unless U is a Siegel disk or Herman ring.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the study of the composition operator Tf(g):=fg on Lizorkin-Triebel spaces . In case s>1+(1/p), 1<p<∞, and 1?q?∞ we will prove the following: the operator Tf takes to itself if and only if f(0)=0 and f belongs locally to .  相似文献

Let be a contractive gauge function in the sense that φ is continuous, φ(s)<s for s>0, and if f:M→M satisfies d(f(x),f(y))?φ(d(x,y)) for all x,y in a complete metric space (M,d), then f always has a unique fixed point. It is proved that if T:M→M satisfies

We generalize the main theorem of Rieffel for Morita equivalence of W-algebras to the case of unital dual operator algebras: two unital dual operator algebras A,B have completely isometric normal representations α,β such that α(A)=[Mβ(B)M]w and β(B)=[Mα(A)M]w for a ternary ring of operators M (i.e. a linear space M such that MMMM) if and only if there exists an equivalence functor which “extends” to a ∗-functor implementing an equivalence between the categories and . By we denote the category of normal representations of A and by the category with the same objects as and Δ(A)-module maps as morphisms (Δ(A)=AA). We prove that this functor is equivalent to a functor “generated” by a B,A bimodule, and that it is normal and completely isometric.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss some basic properties of chain reachable sets and chain equivalent sets of continuous maps. It is proved that if f:TT is a tree map which has a chain movable fixed point v, and the chain equivalent set CE(v,f) is not contained in the set P(f) of periodic points of f, then there exists a positive integer p not greater than the number of points in the set End([CE(v,f)])−Pv(f) such that fp is turbulent, and the topological entropy . This result generalizes the corresponding results given in Block and Coven (1986) [2], Guo et al. (2003) [6], Sun and Liu (2003) [10], Ye (2000) [11], Zhang and Zeng (2004) [12]. In addition, in this paper we also consider metric spaces which may not be trees but have open subsets U such that the closures are trees. Maps of such metric spaces which have chain movable fixed points are discussed.  相似文献

We show that for every Lipschitz function f defined on a separable Riemannian manifold M (possibly of infinite dimension), for every continuous , and for every positive number r>0, there exists a C smooth Lipschitz function such that |f(p)−g(p)|?ε(p) for every pM and Lip(g)?Lip(f)+r. Consequently, every separable Riemannian manifold is uniformly bumpable. We also present some applications of this result, such as a general version for separable Riemannian manifolds of Deville-Godefroy-Zizler's smooth variational principle.  相似文献

A non-linear structure preserving matrix method for the computation of a structured low rank approximation of the Sylvester resultant matrix S(f,g) of two inexact polynomials f=f(y) and g=g(y) is considered in this paper. It is shown that considerably improved results are obtained when f(y) and g(y) are processed prior to the computation of , and that these preprocessing operations introduce two parameters. These parameters can either be held constant during the computation of , which leads to a linear structure preserving matrix method, or they can be incremented during the computation of , which leads to a non-linear structure preserving matrix method. It is shown that the non-linear method yields a better structured low rank approximation of S(f,g) and that the assignment of f(y) and g(y) is important because may be a good structured low rank approximation of S(f,g), but may be a poor structured low rank approximation of S(g,f) because its numerical rank is not defined. Examples that illustrate the differences between the linear and non-linear structure preserving matrix methods, and the importance of the assignment of f(y) and g(y), are shown.  相似文献

Let be a smooth function such that f(0)=0. We give a condition J(id) on f when for arbitrary preserving orientation diffeomorphism such that ?(0)=0 the function ?f is right equivalent to f, i.e. there exists a diffeomorphism such that ?f=fh at 0∈Rm. The requirement is that f belongs to its Jacobi ideal. This property is rather general: it is invariant with respect to the stable equivalence of singularities, and holds for non-degenerated, simple, and many other singularities. We also globalize this result as follows. Let M be a smooth compact manifold, a surjective smooth function, DM the group of diffeomorphisms of M, and the group of diffeomorphisms of R that have compact support and leave [0,1] invariant. There are two natural right and left-right actions of DM and on C(M,R). Let SM(f), SMR(f), OM(f), and OMR(f) be the corresponding stabilizers and orbits of f with respect to these actions. We prove that if f satisfies J(id) at each critical point and has additional mild properties, then the following homotopy equivalences hold: SM(f)≈SMR(f) and OM(f)≈OMR(f). Similar results are obtained for smooth mappings MS1.  相似文献

Let be a locally strongly convex hypersurface, given by a strictly convex function xn+1=f(x1,…,xn) defined in a convex domain ΩAn. We consider the Riemannian metric G# on M, defined by . In this paper we prove that if M is a locally strongly convex surface with constant affine mean curvature and if M is complete with respect to the metric G#, then M must be an elliptic paraboloid.  相似文献

Let (M,g) be a compact Riemannian manifold and T1M its unit tangent sphere bundle. Unit vector fields defining harmonic maps from (M,g) to , being the Sasaki metric on T1M, have been extensively studied. The Sasaki metric, and other well known Riemannian metrics on T1M, are particular examples of g-natural metrics. We equip T1M with an arbitrary Riemannian g-natural metric , and investigate the harmonicity of a unit vector field V of M, thought as a map from (M,g) to . We then apply this study to characterize unit Killing vector fields and to investigate harmonicity properties of the Reeb vector field of a contact metric manifold.  相似文献

A continuous map of topological spaces X,Y is said to be almost 1-to-1 if the set of the points xX such that f−1(f(x))={x} is dense in X; it is said to be light if pointwise preimages are 0-dimensional. In a previous paper we showed that sometimes almost one-to-one light maps of compact and σ-compact spaces must be homeomorphisms or embeddings. In this paper we introduce a similar notion of an almost d-to-1 map and extend the above results to them and other related maps. In a forthcoming paper we use these results and show that if f is a minimal self-mapping of a 2-manifold then point preimages under f are tree-like continua and either M is a union of 2-tori, or M is a union of Klein bottles permuted by f.  相似文献
