In this paper we generalize the concept of absolute neighborhood retract by introducing the notion of absolute neighborhood multi-retract. Furthermore, the Lefschetz fixed point theorem for admissible maps defined on absolute neighborhood multi-retracts is proved.  相似文献

In [5], Zamfirescu (1972) gave a fixed point theorem that generalizes the classical fixed point theorems by Banach, Kannan, and Chatterjea. In this paper, we follow the ideas of Dugundji and Granas to extend Zamfirescu’s fixed point theorem to the class of weakly Zamfirescu maps. In this note, we generalize the various existing local and relative Nielsen type numbers to the setting of maps of noncompact ANR-pairs. In this paper, we introduce the metric dGdG on a G  -metric space (X,G)(X,G) and use this notion to show that many contraction conditions for maps on the G  -metric space (X,G)(X,G) reduce to certain contraction conditions for maps on the metric space (X,dG)(X,dG). As applications, the proofs of many fixed point theorems for maps on the G  -metric space (X,G)(X,G) may be simplified, and many fixed point theorems for maps on the G  -metric space (X,G)(X,G) are direct consequences of preceding results for maps on the metric space (X,dG)(X,dG).  相似文献

In this paper, the concept of the set-valued dynamical systems of contractions of Meir–Keeler type in uniform spaces is introduced and conditions guaranteeing the existence and uniqueness of endpoints of these contractions and the convergence to these endpoints of all generalized sequences of iterations of these contractions are established. The definition and the result presented here are new for set-valued dynamical systems in uniform, locally convex and metric spaces and even for single-valued maps. Examples show a fundamental difference between our result and the well-known ones.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce the concepts of the set-valued dynamical systems of asymptotic contractions of Meir–Keeler type and set-valued dynamical systems of strict contractions in uniform spaces and we present a method which is useful for establishing conditions guaranteeing the existence and uniqueness of endpoints of these contractions and the convergence to these endpoints of all generalized sequences of iterations of these contractions. The result, concerning the investigations of problems of the set-valued asymptotic fixed point theory, include some well-known results of Meir and Keeler, Kirk and Suzuki concerning the asymptotic fixed point theory of single-valued maps in metric spaces. The result, concerning set-valued strict contractions (in which the contractive coefficient is not constant), is different from the result of Yuan concerning the existence of endpoints of Tarafdar–Vyborny generalized contractions (in which the contractive coefficient is constant) in bounded metric spaces and provides some examples of Tarafdar–Yuan topological contractions in compact uniform spaces. Definitions and results presented here are new for set-valued dynamical systems in uniform, locally convex and metric spaces and even for single-valued maps. Examples show a fundamental difference between our results and the well-known ones.  相似文献

Summary A. M. Ostrowski established the stability of the procedure of successive approximations for Banach contractive maps. In this paper we generalize the above result by using a more general contractive definition introduced by F. Browder. Further, we study the case of maps on metrically convex metric spaces and compact metric spaces, obtaining results relative to fixed point theorems of D. W. Boyd and J. S. W. Wong, and M. Edelstein. Finally, as a by-product of our basic lemma, we extend a recent result of T. Vidalis concerning the convergence of an iteration procedure involving an infinite sequence of maps.  相似文献

Nadler’s contraction principle has led to fixed point theory of set-valued contraction in non-linear analysis. Inspired by the results of Nadler, the fixed point theory of set-valued contraction has been further developed in different directions by many authors, in particular, by Reich, Mizoguchi–Takahashi, Feng–Liu and many others. In the present paper, the concept of generalized contractions for set-valued maps in metric spaces is introduced and the existence of fixed point for such a contraction are guaranteed by certain conditions. Our first result extends and generalizes the Nadler, Feng–Liu and Klim–Wardowski theorems and the second result is different from the Reich and Mizoguchi–Takahashi results. As a consequence, we derive some results related to fixed point of set-valued maps satisfying certain conditions of integral type.  相似文献

Several characterizations of MT-functions are first given in this paper. Applying the characterizations of MT-functions, we establish some existence theorems for coincidence point and fixed point in complete metric spaces. From these results, we can obtain new generalizations of Berinde-Berinde?s fixed point theorem and Mizoguchi-Takahashi?s fixed point theorem for nonlinear multivalued contractive maps. Our results generalize and improve some main results in the literature.  相似文献

We establish a geometric lemma giving a list of equivalent conditions for some subsets of the plane. As its application, we get that various contractive conditions using the so-called altering distance functions coincide with classical ones. We consider several classes of mappings both on metric spaces and ordered metric spaces. In particular, we show that unexpectedly, some very recent fixed point theorems for generalized contractions on ordered metric spaces obtained by Harjani and Sadarangani [J. Harjani, K. Sadarangani, Generalized contractions in partially ordered metric spaces and applications to ordinary differential equations, Nonlinear Anal. 72 (2010) 1188-1197], and Amini-Harandi and Emami [A. Amini-Harandi, H. Emami A fixed point theorem for contraction type maps in partially ordered metric spaces and application to ordinary differential equations, Nonlinear Anal. 72 (2010) 2238-2242] do follow from an earlier result of O’Regan and Petru?el [D. O’Regan and A. Petru?el, Fixed point theorems for generalized contractions in ordered metric spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 341 (2008) 1241-1252].  相似文献

Common fixed-point results are proved for II-nonexpansive maps, Ciric type maps, and ∗-nonexpansive multimaps. Invariant approximation results are obtained for these types of maps as applications. Our results extend or generalize several known results including the recent results of Chen and Li [J. Chen, Z. Li, Common fixed-points for Banach operators pairs in best approximation, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 336 (2007) 1466–1475]. In particular, we show that the results of Chen and Li on Banach operator pairs are particular cases of the results of Al-Thagafi and Shahzad [M.A. Al-Thagafi, N. Shahzad, Noncommuting selfmaps and invariant approximations, Nonlinear Anal. 64 (2006) 2778–2786].  相似文献

A variational inequality index for γ-condensing maps is established in Hilbert spaces. New results on existence of nonzero positive solutions of variational inequalities for such maps are proved by using the theory of variational inequality index. Applications of such a theory are given to existence of nonzero positive weak solutions for semilinear second order elliptic inequalities, where previous results of variational inequalities for S-contractive maps cannot be applied.  相似文献

In [G.T. Seidler, The topological entropy of homeomorphisms on one-dimensional continua, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 108 (1990) 1025-1030], G.T. Seidler proved that the topological entropy of every homeomorphism on a regular curve is zero. Also, in [H. Kato, Topological entropy of monotone maps and confluent maps on regular curves, Topology Proc. 28 (2) (2004) 587-593] the topological entropy of confluent maps on regular curves was investigated. In particular, it was proved that the topological entropy of every monotone map on any regular curve is zero. In this paper, furthermore we investigate the topological entropy of more general maps on regular curves. We evaluate the topological entropy of maps f on regular curves X in terms of the growth of the number of components of fn(y) (yX).  相似文献

We provide a positive answer to a question raised by Eldred and Veeramani [A.A. Eldred, P. Veeramani, Existence and convergence of best proximity points, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 323 (2006) 1001–1006] about the existence of a best proximity point for a cyclic contraction map in a reflexive Banach space. Moreover, we introduce a new class of maps, called cyclic φφ-contractions, which contains the cyclic contraction maps as a subclass. Convergence and existence results of best proximity points for cyclic φφ-contraction maps are also obtained.  相似文献

In the first part of the paper we give a construction of a topological degree theory for set-valued tangent vector fields with convex and nonconvex values defined on nonsmooth closed subsets of a Banach space. The obtained homotopy invariant is an extension of the classical degree for vector fields on manifolds. We generalize some classical theorems related to dimension. We extend Brouwer's fixed point theorem to a class of mappings whose images are not necessarily a subset of the domain. These results also generalize theorems of B.R. Halpern and G.M. Bergman. As applications, we prove some theorems for maps that pull absolute retracts outward into attached sphere collars. We note relationships to the relative Nielsen theory and show that certain of our applications can also be obtained using results of H. Schirmer.  相似文献

We consider the notion of dimension in four categories: the category of (unbounded) separable metric spaces and (metrically proper) Lipschitz maps, and the category of (unbounded) separable metric spaces and (metrically proper) uniform maps. A unified treatment is given to the large scale dimension and the small scale dimension. We show that in all categories a space has dimension zero if and only if it is equivalent to an ultrametric space. Also, 0-dimensional spaces are characterized by means of retractions to subspaces. There is a universal zero-dimensional space in all categories. In the Lipschitz Category spaces of dimension zero are characterized by means of extensions of maps to the unit 0-sphere. Any countable group of asymptotic dimension zero is coarsely equivalent to a direct sum of cyclic groups. We construct uncountably many examples of coarsely inequivalent ultrametric spaces.  相似文献

The notion of a bead metric space defined here (see Definition 6) is a nice generalization of that of the uniformly convex normed space. In turn, the idea of a central point for a mapping when combined with the “single central point” property of the bead spaces enables us to obtain strong and elegant extensions of the Browder-Göhde-Kirk fixed point theorem for nonexpansive mappings (see Theorems 14-17). Their proofs are based on a very simple reasoning. We also prove two theorems on continuous selections for metric and Hilbert spaces. They are followed by fixed point theorems of Schauder type. In the final part we obtain a result on nonempty intersection.  相似文献
