The molecular structure and conformational stability of CH2CHCH2X (X=F, Cl and Br) molecules were studied using ab initio and density functional theory (DFT) methods. The molecular geometries of 3-fluoropropene were optimized employing BLYP and B3LYP levels of theory of DFT method implementing 6-311+G(d,p) basis set. The MP2/6-31G*, BLYP and B3LYP levels of theory of ab initio and DFT methods were used to optimize the 3-chloropropene and 3-bromopropene molecules. The structural and physical parameters of the molecules are discussed with the available experimental values. The rotational potential energy surface of the above molecules were obtained at MP2/6-31G* and B3LYP/6-311+G(d,p) levels of theory. The Fourier decomposition of the rotational potentials were analyzed. The HF/6-31G* and MP2/6-31G* levels of theory have predicted the cis conformer as the minimum energy structure for 3-fluoropropene, which is in agreement with the experimental values, whereas the BLYP/6-311+G(d,p) and B3LYP/6-311+G(d,p) levels of theory reverses the order of conformation. The ΔE values calculated for 3-chloropropene at MP2/6-31G*, BLYP/6-311+G(d,p) and B3LYP/6-311+G(d,p) levels of theory show that the gauche form is more stable than the cis form, which is in agreement with the experimental value. The same levels of theory have also predicted that the gauche form is stable than cis for 3-bromopropene molecule. The maximum hardness principle has been able to predict the stable conformer of 3-fluoropropene at HF/6-31G* level of theory, but the same level of theory reverses the conformational stability of 3-chloropropene and 3-bromopropene molecules and MP2/6-31G* level of theory predicted the stable conformer correctly.  相似文献

The molecular structure and conformational stability of allylisocyanate (CH2CHCH2NCO) molecule was studied using the ab initio and DFT methods. The geometries of possible conformers, C-gauche (δ=120°, θ=0°) (δ=C=C–C–N and θ=C–C–N=C) and C-cis N-trans (δ=0° and θ=180°) were optimized employing HF/6-31G*, MP2/6-31G* levels of theory of ab initio and BLYP, B3LYP, BPW91 and B3PW91 methods of DFT implementing the atomic basis set 6-311+G(d,p). The structural and physical parameters of the above conformers were discussed with the experimental and theoretical values of the related molecules, methylisocyanate and 3-fluoropropene. It has been found that the N=C=O bond angle is not linear as the experimental result for both the conformers and the theoretical bond angle is 173°. The rotational potential energy surfaces have been performed at the HF/6-31G*, and MP2/6-31G* levels of theory. The Fourier decomposition potentials were analysed at the HF/6-31G*, and MP2/6-31G* levels of theory. The HF/6-31G* level of theory predicted that the C-gauche conformer is more stable than the C-cis N-trans conformer by 0.41 kJ/mol, but the MP2 and DFT methods predicted the C-cis N-trans conformer is found to be more stable than the C-gauche conformer. The calculated chemical hardness value at the HF/6-31G* level of theory predicted the C-cis N-trans form is more stable than C-gauche form, whereas the chemical hardness value at the MP2/6-31G* level of theory favours the slight preference towards the C-gauge conformer.  相似文献

Molecular structure and conformational stability of chair and twist conformers of 1,2-dioxane and halogen substituted compounds of the 1,2-dioxane have been studied using ab initio and density functional theory (DFT) methods. The molecular geometries of 1,2-dioxane, 3,6-difluoro, 3,6-dichloro, 3,3,6,6-tetrafluoro and 3,3,6,6-tetrachloro 1,2-dioxane compounds were optimized at HF, MP2, B3LYP and B3PW91 levels of theory by implementing 6-31G* basis set. To study the effect of polar medium, self-consistent reaction field theory is used to optimize the conformers at B3LYP/6-31G* level of theory. The geometrical parameters of chair and twist conformers have been discussed in the light of interaction between lone pair electrons present in the oxygen and substituted halogen atoms. The relative stability of the conformers have been studied using relative energy, maximum hardness principle and thermodynamical quantities. The 13C-NMR chemical shift study for carbon atoms in the title compounds are calculated and the results have been discussed.  相似文献

The hydrogen-bonding ability of five-membered heteroaromatic molecules containing one chalcogen and two heteroatoms with nitrogen in addition to chalcogen, respectively, have been analyzed using density functional and molecular orbital methods through adduct formation with water. The stabilization energies for all the adducts are established at B3LYP/6-31+G* and MP2/6-31+G* levels after correcting for the basis set superposition error by using the counterpoise method and also corrected for zero-point vibrational energies. A natural bond orbital analysis at B3LYP/6-31+G* level and natural energy decomposition analysis at HF/6-31+G* using MP2/6-31+G* geometries have been carried out to understand the nature of hydrogen-bonding interaction in monohydrated heterocyclic adducts. Nucleus-independent chemical shift have been evaluated to understand the correlation between hydrogen bond formation and aromaticity.  相似文献

A conformational search was performed for the 12-crown-4 (12c4)-alkali metal cation complexes using two different methods, one of them is the CONFLEX method, whereby eight conformations were predicted. Computations were performed for the eight predicted conformations at the HF/6-31+G*, MP2/6-31+G*//HF/6-31+G*, B3LYP/6-31+G*, MP2/6-31+G*//B3LYP/6-31+G*, and MP2/6-31+G* levels. The calculated energies predict a C4 conformation for the 12c4-Na+, -K+, -Rb+, and -Cs+ complexes and a C(s) conformation for the 12c4-Li+ complex to be the lowest energy conformations. For most of the conformations considered, the relative energies, with respect to the C4 conformation, at the MP2/6-31+G*//B3LYP/6-31+G* are overestimated, compared to those at the MP2/6-31+G* level, the highest level of theory considerd in this report, by 0.2 kcal/mol. Larger relative energy differences are attributed to larger differences between the B3LYP and MP2 optimized geomtries. Binding enthalpies (BEs) were calculated at the above-mentioned levels for the eight conformations. The agreement between the calculated and experimental BEs is discussed.  相似文献

The structures and relative stabilities of furoxan and some of its isomers, e.g., the 1,2-dinitrosoethylenes, have been determined by means of ab initio Hartee–Fock and Møller–Plesset calculations. Geometries were optimized at the HF/3-21G, HF/6-31G* and MP2/6-31G* levels, and subsequently used for computing MP2/6-31G*, MP3/6-31G*, and MP4/6-31G* energies. The results are markedly affected by the inclusion of electronic correlation, which renders three of the isomers unstable. It also emphasizes the importance of a zwitterionic contribution to the structure of furoxan, which promotes ring-opening through a cis 1,2-dinitrosoethylene intermediate/transition state that has an MP4/6-31G*//MP2/6-31G* energy that is 31.6 kcal/mol above furoxan.  相似文献

Ab initio calculations of the structural, energetic, vibrational, and magnetic characteristics of the lowest-lying structures for isolated molecules and ions of light-metal tetrahydroaluminates (Li, Na, Be, Mg, and Al) have been performed by the perturbation theory (MP2), quadratic configuration interaction (QCISD(T)), coupled cluster (CCSD(T)), and density functional theory (B3LYP) methods using the 6-31G*, 6-31G**, 6-311+G**, and 6-311++G** basis sets. The trends in the behavior of the molecular characteristics have been analyzed in various related series of these compounds. The results are compared with the data on analogous light-metal tetrahydroborates calculated at the same levels of theory. The differences in structure and stability between analogous hydroborate and alanate complexes are examined. The economical approximation B3LYP/6-311++G**//B3LYP/6-311+G** has been shown to adequately reproduce the results obtained at the higher level of theory CCSD(T)/6-311++G**//MP2/6-31G* even though it requires considerably shorter CPU times and smaller amounts of memory.  相似文献

对吡啶-BH~3复合物分别用MP2/6-31+G^*和B3LYP/6-31+G^*进行理论计算以预测该复合物的构型及解离能,得到四种构型,在MP2优化构型基础上作CCSD/6-31+G^*单点能量计算以验证MP2与B3LYP结果的可靠性,然后用B3LYP作振动频率分析,计算了各构型的垂直电离势,最后用更大基组作单点能量计算和自然键轨道(NBO)分析。结果表明,N-B直接相连的构型最稳定,其解离能为141.50kJ/mol,MP2和B3LYP对N-H接近的构型结果相关较大,另外两种构型稳定性介于二者之间,解离能分别为15.18kJ/mol,14.06kJ/mol(MP2/6-31+G^*)。  相似文献

A detailed investigation of the reaction path for the thermal rearrangement of 3,4-dihydro-1aH-azirine[2,3-c]pyrrol-2-one to yield a cyanoketene–formaldimine complex is carried out at the MP2/6-31G* and B3LYP/6-31G* levels of theory. The ring opening of the five-membered pyrrolinone ring and the formation of the nitrile group takes place in a concerted manner, presenting a significant strain energy release and allowing for an electronic stabilization by coarctate conjugation of the transition structure (TS). These two factors make possible a moderate energy barrier. Although the structural features B3LYP/6-31G* theoretical levels, it is found that the MP2 energy barrier (28.8) CCSD(T)/6-31G*//MP2/6-31G* value (17.1 kcal/mol). The complex electronic rearrangement can be rationalized using the theory of coarctate transition structures developed by Herges as the evolution of an azirine structure without referring to a hypothetical vinyl nitrene intermediate. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Various ONIOM combinations-ONIOM(HF/6-31G*: PM3), ONIOM(B3LYP/6-31G*: PM3), ONIOM(MP2/6-31G*: PM3), and ONIOM(MP2/6-31G*: HF/3-21G)--were applied to investigate thermal decomposition mechanisms of four 2-phenoxycarboxylic acids (2-phenoxyacetic acid, 2-phenoxypropionic acid, 2-phenoxybutyric acid, and 2-phenoxyisobutyric acid) in the gas phase. All the transition states and intermediates of the reaction paths were optimized. The reaction pathway of four reactants yielding the phenol, CO, and the corresponding carbonyl compound was characterized on the potential energy surface and found to proceed stepwise. The first step corresponds to the elimination of phenol and the formation of alpha-lactone intermediate through a five-membered ring transition state, and the second step is the cycloreversion process of alpha-lactone intermediate to form CO and the corresponding carbonyl compound. The reaction pathway of latter three compounds to produce the carboxylic acid and phenol via a four-membered cyclic transition structure was also examined theoretically. Comparison with experiment indicates that the activation parameters for the fist reaction channel are accurately predicted at the ONIOM(MP2/6-31G*: HF/3-21G) level of theory.  相似文献

The molecular structures of the diphosphines P(2)[CH(SiH(3))(2)](4), P(2)[C(SiH(3))(3)](4), P(2)[SiH(CH(3))(2)](4), and P(2)[Si(CH(3))(3)](4) and the corresponding radicals P[CH(SiH(3))(2)](2), P[C(SiH(3))(3)](2), P[SiH(CH(3))(2)](2), and P[Si(CH(3))(3)](2) were predicted by theoretical quantum chemical calculations at the HF/3-21G*, B3LYP/3-21G*, and MP2/6-31+G* levels. The conformational analyses of all structures found the gauche conformers of the diphosphines with C(2) symmetry to be the most stable. The most stable conformers of the phosphido radicals were also found to possess C(2) symmetry. The structural changes upon dissociation allow the release of some of the energy stored in the substituents and therefore contribute to the decrease of the P-P bond dissociation energy. The P-P bond dissociation enthalpies at 298 K in the compounds studied were calculated to vary from -11.4 kJ mol(-1) (P(2)[C(SiH(3))(3)](4)) to 179.0 kJ mol(-1) (P(2)[SiH(CH(3))(2)](4)) at the B3LYP/3-21G* level. The MP2/6-31+G* calculations predict them to be in the range of 52.8-207.9 kJ mol(-1). All the values are corrected for basis set superposition error. The P-P bond energy defined by applying a mechanical analogy of the flexible substituents connected by a spring shows less variation, between 191.3 and 222.6 kJ mol(-1) at the B3LYP/3-21G level and between 225.6 and 290.4 kJ mol(-1) at the MP2/6-31+G* level. Its average value can be used to estimate bond dissociation energies from the energetics of structural relaxation.  相似文献

Different geometries of nitromethane dimer and nitromethane trimer have been fully optimized employing the density functional theory B3LYP method and the 6-31++G** basis set. Three-body interaction energy has been obtained with the ab initio supermolecular approach at the levels of MP2/6-31++G**//B3LYP/6-31++G** and MP2/aug-cc-pVDZ//B3LYP/6-31++G**. The internal rotation of methyl group induced by intermolecular interaction has been observed theoretically. For the optimized structures of nitromethane dimer, the strength of C--H...O--N H-bond ranges from -9.0 to -12.4 kJ mol(-1) at the MP2/aug-cc-pVDZ//B3LYP/6-31++G** level, and the B3LYP method underestimates the interaction strength compared with the MP2 method, while MP2/6-31++G**//B3LYP/6-31++G** calculated DeltaE(C) is within 2.5 kJ mol(-1) of the corresponding value at the MP4(SDTQ)/6-31G**//B3LYP/6-31++G** level. The analytic atom-atom intermolecular potential has been successfully regressed by using the MP2/6-31++G**//B3LYP/6-31++G** calculated interaction energies of nitromethane dimer. For the optimized structures of nitromethane trimer the three-body interaction energies occupy small percentage of corresponding total binding energies, but become important for the compressed nitromethane explosive. In addition, it has been discovered that the three-body interaction energy in the cyclic nitromethane trimer is more and more negative as intermolecular distances decrease from 2.2 to 1.7 A.  相似文献

The 13C NMR data of five iminopropadienones R–NCCCO as well as carbon suboxide, C3O2, have been examined theoretically and experimentally. The best theoretical results were obtained using the GIAO/B3LYP/6-31+G**//MP2/6-31G* level of theory, which reproduces the chemical shifts of the iminopropadienone substituents extremely well while underestimating those of the cumulenic carbons by 5–10 ppm. The computationally faster GIAO/HF/6-31+G**//B3LYP/6-31G* level is also adequate.  相似文献

The minimum energy paths for intramolecular proton transfer between the amino nitrogen and carbonyl oxygen atoms in gaseous protonated glycine were estimated at the Hartree-Fock (HF) and second-order M?ller-Plesset Perturbation (MP2) levels of theory. Potential energy profiles and their associated reactant, transition state, and product species calculated at the MP2/6-31G* level were shown to differ significantly from those obtained at the HF/6-31G* level. Effects of electron correlation and basis functions on the calculated geometries and energies of relevant species were examined at the HF, MP2, MP4, CCSD, and B3LYP levels using the 6-31G*, 6-31G**, 6-31+G**, 6-311+G**, 6-31+G(2d,2p), 6-311+G(3df,2p), cc-pVDZ, aug-cc-pVDZ, and cc-pVTZ basis sets. The HF and MP2 optimized levels with the 6-31G*, 6-31G**, 6-31+G**, and 6-311+G** bases were used to calculate the thermodynamic and kinetic properties of the proton transfer reaction at 298.15 K and 1 atm, which include enthalpy, entropy, Gibbs free energy, equilibrium constant, potential energy barriers, tunneling transmission coefficients, and rate constants. Results indicate that the proton in a carbonyl O-protonated glycine undergoes a rapid migration to the amino nitrogen atom, while the reverse process is extremely unfavorable. The objective of this work is to develop practical theoretical procedures for studying proton transfer reactions in amino acids and peptides and to assemble physical data from these model calculations for future references.  相似文献

The diphosphate ester (ThDP) of thiamin (vitamin B1) is an important cofactor of enzymes within the carbohydrate metabolism. The initial reaction step shared by all ThDP-dependent enzymes is the deprotonation of the C2–H of the thiazolium ring. The replacement of the 4′-amino group by a hydroxyl one in the pyrimidine ring leads to the oxy-ThDP analogue which is known as an antagonist in thiamin catalysis.

Ab initio and DFT calculations on the MP2/6-31G* and B3LYP/6-31G* level were performed to study the proton relay function in thiamin and oxythiamin systems. Both MP2 and B3LYP calculations show significant differences of the reaction coordinate of the ylide formation in the systems. Tautomers, protonated and deprotonated species of both systems show different trends regarding their stability. The influence of correlation effects on the results is discussed by comparison with the HF-SCF/6-31G* data. Frequency calculations on the B3LYP/6-31G* level were performed to characterize the minima and transition state structures, respectively.  相似文献

用量子化学密度泛函(DFT)方法研究D-苯丙氨酸与一价基态金属阳离子Cu在气相中反应的机理. 在B3LYP/6-31G*水平上, 优化了反应包含的4个反应通道的反应物、中间体、过渡态和产物的几何构型, 并采用B3LYP/DZVP, B3LYP/[6-311+G**(C,H,O)+Lanl2dz(Cu)], B3LYP/6-311+G**, MP2/6-311+G** 等方法对各驻点进行了单点能计算. 通过对计算结果的分析, 获得了其单重态反应势能面的一般轮廓、各驻点几何构型优化参数, 明确了其反应机理.  相似文献
