Experimental results show that Cu atoms can float out to or segregate to the NiFe/FeMn interface for Ta/NiFe/Cu/NiFe/FeMn/Ta spin-valve multilayers, which results in a drop of the exchange-coupling field (Hex) of NiFe/FeMn in the spin-valve multilayers. However, when a small amount of Bi atoms is deposited between the Cu and the pinned NiFe layers, Cu segregation to the NiFe/FeMn interface can be suppressed. At the same time, Hex of NiFe/FeMn in the spin-valve multilayers with a Bi interfacial layer can be effectively increased. PACS 75.70.Cn; 82.80.Pv  相似文献

The spectrum of standing spin waves has been detected by the ferromagnetic resonance method in NiFe(740 Å)/Cu/NiFe(740 Å) three-layered film structure in the perpendicular configuration for the copper thickness d Cu ≤ 30 Å. At thicknesses d Cu > 30 Å, the resonance absorption curve is a superposition of two spinwave resonance spectra from individual ferromagnetic NiFe layers. For Co/Pd multilayer films, united spinwave responance spectra have also been observed at thicknesses of the paramagnetic palladium layer up to d Pd < 30 Å. The partial exchange stiffness has been calculated for a spin wave propagating across the Pd layer (A Pd = 0.1 × 10?6 erg/cm). This value is always positive (up to the critical thickness of the palladium interlayer d Pd < d c) or equal to zero (d Pd > d c).  相似文献

Giant magnetoresistance (GMR) effect and magnetisation reversal processes have been investigated in Py/Cu(Py=Ni83Fe17,permalloy) multilayers (Mls) obtained by face-to-face sputtering method. The investigated films had constant sublayer thicknesses both for Py and Cu (dCu=2nm,dPy=2nm) and various numbers of ferromagnetic sublayers. It has been shown that for such Mls a high field sensitivity of GMR effect (S≈0.4%/Oe) and negligible hysteresis can be obtained for a low number of Py layers.  相似文献

The present work discusses the successful electrodeposition of Cu/Co multilayers, exhibiting appreciable GMR of 12-14% at room temperature. The effect of individual Cu and Co layers on the magnitude and behavior of GMR has been studied. By varying the thickness of individual layers the field at which saturation in GMR is observed can be controlled. It was observed that for lower thicknesses of Co layer, the saturation fields are reduced below 1 kOe. The Cu layer thickness seems to control the nature of magnetic coupling and the saturation field, with the two showing a correlation.  相似文献

Annealing effects on residual stress of HfO2/SiO2 multilayers   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
HfO2/SiO2 multilayer films were deposited on BK7 glass substrates by electron beam evaporation method. The effects of annealing at the temperature between 200 and 400℃ on residual stresses have been studied. It is found that the residual stress of as-deposited HfO2/SiO2 multilayers is compressive. It becomes tensile after annealing at 200℃,and then the value of tensile stress increases as annealing temperature increases. And cracks appear in the film because tensile stress is too large when the sample is annealed at 400℃.At the same time, the crystallite size increases and interplanar distance decreases with the increase of annealing temperature. The variation of residual stresses is corresponding with the evolution of structures.  相似文献

In this paper,we have obtained and investigated the magnetic behaviours of the ferromagnetic layer in the symmetric spin valves of Co/Cu/NiFe and NiFe/Cu/Co by measuring with a vibrating sample magnetometer and analysing in terms of the multi-domain Ising models. It has been found that some magnetic layer can have quite different magnetic behaviours in different structures of spin valves, depending on the properties of the under-layer.In our investigation,we have found that the magnetic behaviour of a Co layer depends mainly on the magnetization of the under-layer,whereas this is not the case for the NiFe layer.  相似文献

The influence of the Cu layer thickness on the magnetic and magnetotransport properties has been investigated in Ta/NiFe/Cu/NiFe/FeMn spin valves. The magnetization and magnetoresistance measurements were carried out for magnetic field applied along the easy-axis direction. A phenomenological model, which assumes formation of a planar domain wall at the anti-ferromagnetic side of the interfaces as well as bilinear coupling between the ferromagnetic layers, was used to derive the anisotropy characteristics and orientation of each NiFe layer magnetization. The anisotropy and spin valve magnetoresistance were simulated numerically and compared with the experiment. It was found that the anisotropy magnetoresistance is negligible and that there is a poor agreement for the spin-valve one, which was attributed to the model (valid for ferromagnetic layers in single-domain state only) used for its calculation. It was found that the increase of the Cu layer thickness provokes a decrease of the interdiffusion between the NiFe and FeMn layers, and, as consequence, changes of the uniaxial anisotropy of the pinned NiFe layer, of the exchange interaction between the pinned NiFe layer and the FeMn ones, as well as of the exchange-bias field of the pinned NiFe layer.  相似文献

The plastic deformation mechanism of Cu/Ag multilayers is investigated by molecular dynamics(MD) simulation in a nanoindentation process. The result shows that due to the interface barrier, the dislocations pile-up at the interface and then the plastic deformation of the Ag matrix occurs due to the nucleation and emission of dislocations from the interface and the dislocation propagation through the interface. In addition, it is found that the incipient plastic deformation of Cu/Ag multilayers is postponed, compared with that of bulk single-crystal Cu. The plastic deformation of Cu/Ag multilayers is affected by the lattice mismatch more than by the difference in stacking fault energy(SFE) between Cu and Ag. The dislocation pile-up at the interface is determined by the obstruction of the mismatch dislocation network and the attraction of the image force. Furthermore, this work provides a basis for further understanding and tailoring metal multilayers with good mechanical properties, which may facilitate the design and development of multilayer materials with low cost production strategies.  相似文献

SWR spectra of exchange-coupled NiFe/Cu/NiFe structures were investigated. We found that the optical satellites of exchange spin-wave modes are characterized not by the standard Kittel dependence but by their own dependence of the resonance field on the mode number: H r opt(n) ∼ n 5/2.  相似文献

Giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect on NiFe thin film is very promising due to its application in developing the magnetic field sensors with highly sensitivity and low cost. In this paper, the single layered NiFe thin film and NiFe/Cu/NiFe thin film with a meander structure are prepared by the MEMS technology. The influences of sputtering parameters, film structure and conductor layer width on GMI effect in NiFe single layer and meander NiFe/Cu/NiFe film are investigated. Maximum of the GMI ratio in single layer and sandwich film is 5% and 64%, respectively. The results obtained are useful for developing the high-performance magnetic sensors based on NiFe thin film.  相似文献

Highly ordered composite nanowires with multilayer Ni/Cu and NiFe/Cu have been fabricated by pulsed electrodeposition into nanoporous alumina membrane. The diameter of wires can be easily varied by pore size of alumina, ranging from 30 to 100 nm. The applied potential and the duration of each potential square pulse determine the thickness of the metal layers. The nanowires have been characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), magnetic force microscopy (MFM), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) measurements. The MFM images indicate that every ferromagnetic layer separated by Cu layer was present as single isolated domain-like magnet. This technique has potential use in the measurement and application of magnetic nanodevices.  相似文献

A series of [FeNi(1.7 nm)/Cu(tCu)]30/Fe(10 nm) multilayers with the range of tCu from 0.36nm to 4.32nm deposited on glass substrates was studied by measuring the effective optical constants n and k, saturation magnetooptical polar Kerr rotation θ k and ellipticity ηk and evaluating the effective complex off-diagonal elements of the dielectric tensor ε xy and ε xy . It was found that the four primary quantities ε xy , ε xy , n and k vary concurrently with respect to tCu, while the dependences of θ k and η k on tCu differ drastically. To explain this difference the contributions of both the real and imaginary parts of the off- diagonal dielectric tensor elements and the effect of complex optical constants have to be considered. No obvious correlation was found between the variation of ñ, ε~ xy and the oscillations of GMR of the multilayers.  相似文献

Epitaxial [NiFe/Cu/Co(/Cu)] films have been grown on Si(100)/Cu substrates using an ultrahigh vacuum evaporation method. Magnetoresistance (MR) and magnetization were measured at room temperature with maximum applied field, 40 kA/m. The (100) oriented [NiFe(3 nm)/Cu(6 nm)/Co(3 nm)/Cu(6 nm)] × 10 multilayers showed a sharply peaked MR curve (when the external field was applied along [011] direction) due to magnetization rotation of free NiFe layers separated from Co layers with thick Cu layers. Furthermore the interposition of a Ag layer in the Cu layer reduced the couplings between ferromagnetic layers and improved the sensitivity of the [NiFe/Cu/Co(/Cu)] film. Si(100)/Cu(5 nm)/[Co(3 nm)/Cu(2.4 nm)/Ag(0.2 nm)/Cu(2.4 nm)/NiFe(3 nm)/Cu(2.4 nm)/Ag(0.2 nm)/Cu(2.4 nm)] × 10 multilayers showed a resistivity change of about 8.2% per kA/m (12 Oe).  相似文献

Fe/Cu multilayers with Fe and Cu layers of equal thicknesses were grown by high-vacuum evaporation on Si(1 1 1) substrates at room temperature. The crystal orientation, the thickness of the elemental layers and the interplanar distances were analysed by both low- and high-angle X-ray diffraction in the θ–2θ configuration. The magnetic properties of Fe/Cu multilayers were studied by both a static and a dynamic technique, namely surface magneto-optical Kerr effect (SMOKE) and Brillouin light scattering (BLS). Longitudinal SMOKE cycles permitted us to determine the orientation of the easy axis of the magnetization and to put in evidence an appreciable in-plane magnetic anisotropy in multilayers with low periodicity and highly coherent structure. Polar loops were then used to determine the out-of-plane anisotropy fields, showing that both first- and second-order contributions are to be considered in order to reproduce the hysteresis cycle. BLS was then exploited to detect thermaly excited spin waves through inelastic scattering of light. The out-of-plane anisotropy fields evaluated by this high-frequency dynamic technique compare fairly well with the first-order values obtained by analysis of polar SMOKE hysteresis cycles.  相似文献

The thermopower (Seebeck coefficient, S) has been measured on a series of Co/Cu multilayers that exhibit giant negative magnetoresistance (GMR). Negative in zero applied field, S(H) increases in magnitude as the field is increased, approaching that of bulk Co. The change in S is inversely proportional to the resistance of the sample which is, in turn, proportional to the square of the magnetization. A model is presented that yields both the GMR and S(H) from the spin-split density of states of the Co without the need of a spin-dependent scattering potential at the interfaces.  相似文献

We report measurements of magnetoresistive remanence curves and initial magnetoresistance curves on Co/Cu multilayers. The initial magnetoresistance curve shows an enhance magnetoresistance change over that of the hysteretic magnetoresistance curve. Using remanence curves we are able to separate out the irreversible and reversible components contributing to the magnetoresistance. We show that it is irreversible changes of resistance within the multilayers from an initial low energy demagnetised state that is responsible for this ‘extra’ magnetoresistance.  相似文献
