A diarylethene dimer linked by a phenyl group was synthesized and the photochromic behavior was examined. Upon irradiation with ultraviolet light (λ=313 nm), a hexane solution of the diarylethene dimer (1a) turned purple blue. Upon further prolonged irradiation the color changed to blue. The purple-blue and blue colors are due to the formation of a dimer having one open- and one closed-ring forms (1b) and a dimer having two closed-ring forms (1c), respectively. Both 1b and 1c returned to 1a by irradiation with visible light (λ>500 nm). The photochromic reactivity was evaluated by measuring quantum yields of the photocyclization and photocycloreversion reactions. The photocyclization quantum yield was 0.50. The cycloreversion quantum yield from 1c to 1b (0.0026) was lower than that from 1b to 1a (0.0094).  相似文献

A new class of photochromic diarylethenes bearing pyrrole and thiophene units with different length of alkyl chains at 2-position of thiophene rings have been synthesized. Their characteristics, including photochromism and fatigue resistance were investigated systematically, and each diarylethene derivative showed good photochromic properties whether in solution or in PMMA films. The alkyl group moiety was connected directly to the central cyclopentene ring as a heteroaryl unit and availably participated in photoisomerization reaction. And some properties, for example, the conversion ratio in the photostationary state(PSS) and the absorption coefficient of the ring-closed isomers in acetonitrile were significantly affected by the alkyl chain length. The results revealed that substituents of alkyl chain played an important role in the photoisomerization process of diarylethenes.  相似文献

Two 1-thiazolyl-2-thienylcyclopentene derivatives, 1a and 2a, and a 1-thiazolyl-2-vinylcyclopentene derivative 3a have been synthesized in an attempt to obtain photochromic compounds which change the color from colorless to yellow, and have low photocycloreversion quantum yields and high absorption coefficients of the colored isomers. All of these compounds underwent reversible photochromic reactions. Compounds 1a and 2a in toluene solutions changed the color upon 313 nm light irradiation from colorless to orange and pink, in which absorption maxima were observed at 494 nm (ε=10,000 M−1 cm−1) and 525 nm (ε=8500 M−1 cm−1), respectively. On the other hand, the colorless toluene solution of 3a turned yellow upon irradiation with 313 nm light, in which the absorption maximum was observed at 416 nm (ε=17,100 M−1 cm−1). The photocyclization/cycloreversion quantum yields of 3 were 0.19 and 0.0014, respectively. The conversion from the open- to the closed-ring isomer of 3 in the photostationary state under irradiation with 313 nm light was close to 100%.  相似文献

As a novel approach to nonlinear optical materials, new octupolar discotic liquid crystalline materials 1,3,5-triphenyl-2,4,6-triazine derivatives containing achiral alkyl chains (5a) and chiral alkyl chains (5b) at the periphery were synthesized. The former exhibits an ordered hexagonal columnar mesophase, whereas the latter displays a rectangular columnar mesophase. The negative exciton splitting observed in the CD spectrum of a thin film of 5b suggests that it has a left-handed helical structure within the column.  相似文献

The closed-ring isomer of diarylethene 1a, 1-(2-methyl-5-(4-N,N-diethylaminophenyl)thien-3-yl)-2-(2-methyl-5-phenylthien-3-yl)perfluorocyclopentene was found to cause the substitution reaction with primary alcohols at room temperature. The open-ring isomer 1a was stable in the alcohols. The product obtained in methanol was isolated by HPLC, and the structure was identified by 1H NMR, mass spectrometry, and X-ray crystallographic analysis. It was revealed that two fluorine atoms were replaced with methoxy groups. The substitution reaction was also caused with ethylene glycol to form the five-membered ring. Both the products also showed photochromism, and had absorption maxima and photocycloreversion quantum yields different from those of 1a.  相似文献

Alkaline condensation reactions of 2,4,6-trimethyl-1,3,5-triazine (1) and substituted benzaldehydes (2a-n) yield 2,4,6-tristyryl-1,3,5-triazines (3a-n). A sufficient number and length of the alkoxy chains at the benzene rings provide liquid crystalline phases Colhd. A special structure was found for compound 3i with 9 hexyloxy chains; it exists in the solid state in a helical columnar arrangement, which is transformed by heating to a hexagonal columnar mesophase. Irradiation of the mesophases of 3i-3m leads to partial cyclodimerization reactions, which cause different textures and lower the clearing points. The border line between the irradiated and the unirradiated zones is preserved in the solid and the liquid crystalline temperature range but also over a surprisingly long period in the molten state. A detailed study of this imaging technique was performed for the LC phase of 3i.  相似文献

Rate constants, kA,R, for the rearrangement of the (Z)-phenylhydrazones (1a-e) of a series of 5-alkyl-3-benzoyl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles substituted at C(5) with linear alkyl chains of different length (from C4 up to C12) into the relevant 4-acylamino-2,5-diphenyl-1,2,3-triazoles (2a-e) have been measured in dioxan/water in the base-catalyzed region (pS+ 10.5-12.6). For each substrate log kA,R are linearly related to pS+. The significant decrease of the slopes of these straight lines (from 0.96 down to 0.78) upon increasing the length of the linear alkyl chain at C(5) and that of the reactivity (down to 14-26%) upon increasing the substrate concentration suggest a decrease of the polarity of the ‘actual’ reaction medium and provide indirect evidence of the tendency of the substrates (Z)-1a-e to self-assemble. To confirm the above outcome direct evidence of the formation of self-assemblies in solution were obtained from 1H NMR and spectrofluorimetry measurements while ESI-MS experiments point out the presence of aggregated substrates also in the gas phase.  相似文献

The photochromic diarylethene, 1,2-bis(2-methyl-5-(2,2′-dicyanovinyl)-thien-3-yl)perfluorocyclopentene (1a), was synthesized by a novel method. Two kinds of single crystals of the compound were obtained depending on the different recrystallization conditions and their structures were determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis. Allomorphism of the photochromic diarylethene was discovered. The compound underwent a photochromic reaction both in solution and in the single crystalline phase of the anti-parallel conformer.  相似文献

Photochromic diarylethene derivatives having phenylethynyl and pent-1-ynyl groups at the reactive carbons have been synthesized. These ethynyl groups enhance the cycloreversion quantum yields of diarylethenes without affecting the absorption maxima and the absorption coefficients of the closed-ring isomers. New 1,4-disubstituted-1,2,3-triazole analogues of forskolin (5a-g, 6a-g) have been prepared by regioselective propargylation at 1-position followed by Cu(I) catalysed cycloaddition of different alkyl azides under the click reaction conditions. An interesting acyl shift in the base catalysed propargylation afforded a new series of 1,4-disubstituted-1,2,3-triazole analogues of forskolin (6a-g). These analogues have potential selective therapeutic applications as antihypertensive, antiglaucoma, antiasthma and antiobesity agents.  相似文献

A series of 2H-pyrano[3,2-c]chromen-5-one derivatives were synthesized and characterized. Their photochromic and redox properties were investigated by the UV-vis absorption spectroscopy. While compounds with one or two phenyl groups incorporated at the 2-position were present in both ring-opened (5a and 10a) and ring-closed (6a and 11a) forms, the incorporation of an N,N-dimethylamino group on either side of the aromatic ring resulted in formation of the ring-opened (5b and 10b) forms only. The ring-closed forms 13 and 18 with a methyl substituent at the 3-position of the pyran moiety failed to exhibit photochromic behavior. Compound 23 with an N,N-dimethylamino group on the aromatic ring displayed increasing shoulder absorption in the visible region and a distinct change of color upon UV irradiation. The non-fluorescent 10b instantly changed from dark red to colorless, when treated with sodium borohydride. The reduced 28 was blue fluorescent with a quantum yield of 0.46 and could be returned to its original color via DDQ oxidation.  相似文献

In order to improve the solubility of intensively fluorescent 2,5-bis(benzimidazol-2-yl)pyrazine (BBIP), we synthesized new BBIP derivatives (2, 3a,b, and 5a,b) possessing two alkyl chains at the N-1 and N-1′ positions of the two benzimidazole moieties. Characterization of these compounds demonstrated that they exhibit high fluorescence intensity even in protic solvents, as well as solvatochromic fluorescence, in which their fluorescence maxima in aqueous methanol exhibited bathochromic shift with increasing ?r value of the medium. We utilized 5a as a microenvironment polarity probe to indicate the variation in polarity around the backbone of the temperature-sensitive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) by measuring the spectral change caused by the thermal phase transition of the polymer.  相似文献

Photochromic diarylethenes that have p-phenylene-substituted benzothiophene aryl groups with and without nitronyl nitroxide radicals at both ends of the molecules were synthesized. The absorption maxima of the closed-ring isomers showed a hypsochromic shift with the increase in the pi-conjugated chain length. The unique behavior was attributed to the stabilization by the resonant quinoid structures. Both photocyclization and photocycloreversion quantum yields of the diarylethene with nitronyl nitroxide radicals were found to increase with the increase in the pi-conjugated chain length. Photoswitching of the magnetic interaction between two nitronyl nitroxide radicals was studied by means of ESR spectroscopy. The change in exchange interaction between open- and closed-ring isomers of 1,2-bis[6-[4-[4-(1-oxyl-3-oxide-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazolin-2-yl)phenyl]phenyl]-2-methyl-1-benzothiophen-3-yl]hexafluorocyclopentene was determined to be more than 30-fold.  相似文献

A series of unsubstituted and 1,4-disubstituted gallic catecholates 1, 6 and 7 as possible candidates for wedge-shaped mesogens were prepared starting from the respective benzene derivatives 2a-c and gallic esters 5a-h. The mesomorphic properties were investigated by DSC. However, only the 4,5-dinitro derivatives 1d,f-h with C8H17 and C10H21 to C12H25 alkyl side chains displayed mesophases, as evaluated by fluidity and optical anisotropy.  相似文献

Ring opening metathesis polymerisation (ROMP) of norbornene and norbornadiene derivatives containing oxygen are investigated using Grubbs well-defined ruthenium initiator. A series of 7-alkoxy norbornadiene monomers (2b-d), containing alkoxy groups with decreasing steric hindrance in the 7-position have been prepared. The ROMP reactions of monomers showed that as the reaction proceeds the initiator is consumed first and then is partially regenerated at the expense of the propagating species. A small amount of another carbene species X, giving a broad signal at 17.44 ppm, is also formed which is extremely stable in solution. The species X is an active metathesis species and is able to perform ROMP on strained cyclic olefins. ROMP of monomers without alkoxy groups in the 7-position (3, 4a, 4b, 5a and 5b) and also monomers with alkoxy groups in the 5 and/or 6 positions of norbornene (6 and 7) have been performed under similar conditions. None of these systems exhibited regeneration of the initiator and no resonances due to species X can be seen in the 1H NMR spectra. The results confirm that the presence of oxygen in the 7-position of the norbornadiene monomer plays an important role in the process of regeneration of the initiator. It is found that the steric bulk and the position of substituents of the monomer have a pronounced influence on the extent of regeneration of the initiator.  相似文献

Dimesogenic compounds 1a-c, 2a-i, and 3, that are composed of a hydrogen bonding-induced straight arylamide spacer and two appended cholesterol groups, have been designed and synthesized. The backbones of the rigid spacers of 1a-c, 2a-i, and 3 contain one, three, and five benzene units, which bear two, six, and ten alkoxyl (methoxyl, n-octoxyl, or n-dodecoxyl) groups, respectively. The thermal and optical properties of the compounds are investigated by using the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarizing optical microscopy (POM), and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) analysis. It is revealed that 1a-c exhibit one or two liquid crystalline (LC) phases, 2a-i exhibit no, one or two LC phases, while 3 exhibits one LC phase in a wide temperature range. Generally, the more and longer alkoxyl chains facilitate the formation of the LC phases at low temperature. Notably, compound 2g, which bears two methoxyl and four dodecoxyl groups, displays a blue-red color change during both the heating and cooling cycle. The result illustrates that dimesogens with large rigid spacers can exhibit different LC phases when long aliphatic chains are appended to balance the strong stacking of the rigid backbones.  相似文献

We present the synthesis of five new bisindenocarbazoles with different alkyl substituents. The synthesis starts from 2,7-dibromocarbazole and leads to the bisindenocarbazoles 6-10 in five steps with an overall yield of about 50%. By substitution of the core with different alkyl chains in the last step of the synthesis, the morphology of the bisindenocarbazoles can be varied from crystalline materials to molecular glasses. The bisindenocarbazoles are electrochemically stable and exhibit a strong, saturated blue emission with a quantum yield of 63% in solution.  相似文献

An efficient synthesis of 4-phenylquinolin-2(1H)-one derivatives has been achieved in a one-pot reaction from N-acyl-o-aminobenzophenones 1a-c (a: acyl=acetyl; b: acyl=propanoyl; c: acyl=heptanoyl) using NaH as a base. Treatment of 1 with NaH provided the quinolones 2a-c with 62-83% yields, whereas the reaction in the presence of alkyl iodide (alkyl=methyl, ethyl, n-octyl) gave the corresponding N-alkylated quinolones 3a-g in 75-95% yields. The alkylation reaction of 4-phenylquinolin-2(1H)-one 2a with alkyl halide gave a mixture of N-alkylated and O-alkylated products. Comparison of IR and NMR data of the N-alkylated and O-alkylated compounds with those of 2a-c indicated that 2a-c exist as the lactam form.  相似文献

The synthesis, structure and ring-closing metathesis (RCM) reactions of polyether bridged biscalix[4]arenes 6 in the partial cone conformation with upper rim allyl substituents are reported. The RCM reaction modes depend on the length of polyether chain. Diethylene glycolic chain produced the dimer 7a and linear oligomer 7a′ with multi-cavities, whereas triethylene and tetraethylene glycolic chains allowed direct cyclization through intramolecular head-to-tail pattern to yield novel bridged biscalix[4]arenes 7b-c.  相似文献

Reaction of 2,4-diketoesters 3a-c with aqueous formaldehyde using potassium carbonate solution as base affords the corresponding α-methylene-β-hydroxyalkanones 4a-c which provide a route to α,β-unsaturated alkyl ketones 6a-e via coupling of α-acetoxymethyl alkyl vinyl ketone 5a with Grignard reagents in the presence of a catalytic amount of LiCuBr2 at low temperature.  相似文献
