Reactions of Cu(I) salts with Na(S(2)CR) (R = N(n)Pr(2), NEt(2), aza-15-crown-5), and (Bu(4)N)(BH(4)) in an 8:6:1 ratio in CH(3)CN solution at room temperature yield the monocationic hydride-centered octanuclear Cu(I) clusters, [Cu(8)(H){S(2)CR}(6)](PF(6)) (R = N(n)Pr(2), 1(H); NEt(2), 2(H); aza-15-crown-5, 3(H)). Further reactions of [Cu(8)(H){S(2)CR}(6)](PF(6)) with 1 equiv of (Bu(4)N)(BH(4)) produced neutral heptanuclear copper clusters, [Cu(7)(H){S(2)CR}(6)] (R = N(n)Pr(2), 4(H); NEt(2), 5(H); aza-15-crown-5, 6(H)) and clusters 4-6 can also be generated from the reaction of Cu(BF(4))(2), Na(S(2)CR), and (Bu(4)N)(BH(4)) in a 7:6:8 molar ratio in CH(3)CN. Reformation of cationic Cu(I)(8) clusters by adding 1 equiv of Cu(I) salt to the neutral Cu(7) clusters in solution is observed. Intriguingly, the central hydride in [Cu(8)(H){S(2)CN(n)Pr(2)}(6)](PF(6)) can be oxidatively removed as H(2) by Ce(NO(3))(6)(2-) to yield [Cu(II)(S(2)CN(n)Pr(2))(2)] exploiting the redox-tolerant nature of dithiocarbamates. Regeneration of hydride-centered octanuclear copper clusters from the [Cu(II)(S(2)CN(n)Pr(2))(2)] can be achieved by reaction with Cu(I) ions and borohydride. The hydride release and regeneration of Cu(I)(8) was monitored by UV-visible titration experiments. To our knowledge, this is the first time that hydride encapsulated within a copper cluster can be released as H(2) via chemical means. All complexes have been fully characterized by (1)H NMR, FT-IR, UV-vis, and elemental analysis, and molecular structures of 1(H), 2(H), and 6(H) were clearly established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Both 1(H) and 2(H) exhibit a tetracapped tetrahedral Cu(8) skeleton, which is inscribed within a S(12) icosahedron constituted by six dialkyl dithiocarbamate ligands in a tetrametallic-tetraconnective (μ(2), μ(2)) bonding mode. The copper framework of 6(H) is a tricapped distorted tetrahedron in which the four-coordinate hydride is demonstrated to occupy the central site by single crystal neutron diffraction. Compounds 1-3 exhibit a yellow emission in both the solid state and in solution under UV irradiation at 77 K, and the structureless emission is assigned as a (3)metal to ligand charge transfer (MLCT) excited state. Density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) calculations on model compounds match the experimental structures and provide rationalization of their bonding and optical properties.  相似文献

Reactions of neutral V(n), Nb(n), and Ta(n) metal clusters (n< or =11) with CO+H(2) mixed gases and CH(3)OH in a flow tube reactor (1-50 Torr) are studied by time of flight mass spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations. Metal clusters are generated by laser ablation, and reactants and products are ionized by low fluence (approximately 200 microJ/cm(2)) 193 nm excimer laser light. Nb(n) clusters exhibit strong size dependent reactivity in reactions both with CO+H(2) and CH(3)OH compared with V(n) and Ta(n) clusters. A "magic number" (relatively intense) mass peak at Nb(8)COH(4) is observed in the reaction of Nb(n) clusters with CO+H(2), and CH(3)OH is suggested to be formed. This feature at Nb(8)COH(4) remains the most intense peak independent of the relative concentrations of CO and H(2) in the flow tube reactor. No other Nb(n), Ta(n), or V(n) feature behaves in this manner. In reactions of CH(3)OH with metal clusters M(n) (M=V, Nb, and Ta, n=3-11), nondehydrogenated products M(n)COH(4)/M(n)CH(3)OH are only observed on Nb(8) and Nb(10), whereas dehydrogenated products M(n)CO/CM(n)O are observed for all other clusters. These observations support the suggestion that CH(3)OH can be formed on Nb(8) in the reaction of Nb(n) with CO+H(2). A reaction mechanism is suggested based on the experimental results and theoretical calculations of this work and of those in the literature. Methanol formation from CO+H(2) on Nb(8) is overall barrierless and thermodynamically and kinetically favorable.  相似文献

Polyhedral water clusters (PWCs) are cage-like (H2O)n clusters where every O participates in exactly three H bonds. For a database of 83 PWCs, 8 < or = n < or = 20, geometry was optimized and zero point energy (ZPE) was calculated at the B3LYP/6-311++G** level. ZPE correlates negatively with electronic energy (E0): each increase of 1 kcal/mol in E0 corresponds to a decrease of about 0.11 kcal/mol in ZPE. For each n, a set of four connectivity parameters accounts for 98% or more of the variance in ZPE. Linear regression of ZPE against n and this set gives an RMS error of 0.13 kcal/mol. The contributions to ZPE from stretch modes only (ZPE(S)) and from torsional modes only (ZPE(T)) also correlate strongly with E0 and with each other.  相似文献

We employ DFT/B3LYP method to investigate linear open-chain clusters (n = 2-8) of the cis-triaziridine molecule that is a candidate molecule for high energy density materials (HEDM). Our calculations indicate that the pervasive phenomena of cooperative effects are observed in the clusters of n = 3-8, which are reflected in changes in lengths of N...H hydrogen bonds, stretching frequencies, and intensities of N-H bonds, dipole moments, and charge transfers as cluster size increases. The n(N) --> sigma*(N-H) interactions, i.e., the charge transfers from lone pairs (n(N)) of the N atoms into antibonds (sigma*) of the N-H bonds acting as H-donors, can be used to explain the observed cooperative phenomena. The approaches based upon natural bond orbital (NBO) method and theory of atoms in molecule (AIM) to evaluating N...H strengths are found to be equivalent. In the process of N...H bonding, cooperative nature of n(N) --> sigma*(N-H) interactions promotes formation of stronger N...H bonds as reflected in increases in the capacities of cis-triaziridine clusters to concentrate electrons at the bond critical points of N...H bonds. The calculated nonadditive energies also show that the cooperative effects due to n(N) --> sigma*(N-H) interactions indeed provide additional stabilities for the clusters.  相似文献

Hydroperoxide anion (HOO(-)), the conjugate base of hydrogen peroxide (HOOH), has been relatively little studied despite the importance of HOOH in commercial processes, atmospheric science, and biology. The anion has been shown to exist as a stable species in alkaline water. This project explored the structure of gas phase (HOO(-))(H(2)O)(n) clusters and identified the lowest energy configurations for n ≤ 8 at the B3LYP/6-311++G** level of theory and for n ≤ 6 at the MP2/aug-cc-pVTZ level of theory. As a start toward understanding equilibration between HOO(-) and HOOH in an alkaline environment, (HOOH)(OH(-))(H(2)O)(n-1) clusters were likewise examined, and the lowest energy configurations were determined for n ≤ 8 (B3LYP/6-311++G**) and n ≤ 6 (MP2/aug-cc-pVTZ). Some studies were also done for n = 20. The two species have very different solvation behaviors. In low energy (HOOH)(OH(-))(H(2)O)(n-1) clusters, HOOH sits on the surface of the cluster, is 4-coordinated (each O is donor once and acceptor once), and donates to the hydroxide ion. In contrast, in low energy (HOO(-))(H(2)O)(n) clusters, (HOO(-)) takes a position in the cluster center surrounded on all sides by water molecules, and its optimum coordination number appears to be 7 (one O is donor-acceptor-acceptor while the other is a 4-fold acceptor). For n ≤ 6 the lowest (HOOH)(OH(-))(H(2)O)(n-1) cluster lies 1.0-2.1 kcal/mol below the lowest (HOO(-))(H(2)O)(n) cluster, but the lowest clusters found for n = 20 favor (HOO(-))(H(2)O)(20). The results suggest that ambient water could act as a substantial kinetic brake that slows equilibration between (HOOH)(OH(-)) and (HOO(-))(H(2)O) because extensive rearrangement of solvation shells is necessary to restabilize either species after proton transfer.  相似文献

Multilayer lanthanide-cyclooctatetraene organometallic clusters, Lnn(C8H8)m (Ln = Eu, Tb, Ho, Tm; n = 1-7; m = n - 1, n, n + 1) were produced by a laser vaporization synthesis method. The magnetic deflections of these organometallic sandwich clusters were measured by a molecular beam magnetic deflection technique. Most of the sandwich species displayed one-sided deflection, while some of smaller Ln-C8H8 clusters showed symmetric broadening without or with only very small (or absent) net high-field deflection. In general, the total magnetic moments, calculated from the magnitude of the beams deflections, increase with the number of lanthanide atoms (i.e., with increasing sandwich layers); however for Tb-, Ho-, and Tm-C8H8 clusters with n > 3, the suppression of the magnetic moments was observed, possibly through antiferromagnetic interactions. For Eu-C8H8 clusters, we observe a linear increase of the magnetic moments with the number of Eu atoms up to n = 7, with average magnetic moment per Eu atom around 7 muB--similar to that displayed by conventionally synthesized mononuclear EuIIC8H8 complexes, indicating that Eu atoms exist as Eu2+ ions in the full sandwich Eun(C8H8)n+1 clusters. These results suggest that Eun(C8H8)n+1 is a promising candidate for a high-spin, one-dimensional building block in organometallic magnetic materials.  相似文献

The reduction potentials (E°(Red) versus SHE) of hypercloso boron hydrides B(n)H(n) (n = 6-13) and B(12)X(12) (X = F, Cl, OH, and CH(3)) in water have been computed using the Conductor-like Polarizable Continuum Model (CPCM) and the Solvation Model Density (SMD) method for solvation modeling. The B3LYP/aug-cc-pvtz and M06-2X/aug-cc-pvtz as well as G4 level of theory were applied to determine the free energies of the first and second electron attachment (ΔG(E.A.)) to boron clusters. The solvation free energies (ΔG(solv)) greatly depend on the choice of the cavity set (UAKS, Pauling, or SMD) while the dependence on the choice of exchange/correlation functional is modest. The SMD cavity set gives the largest ΔΔG(solv) for B(n)H(n)(0/-) and B(n)H(n)(-/2-) while the UAKS cavity set gives the smallest ΔΔG(solv) value. The E°(Red) of B(n)H(n)(-/2-) (n = 6-12) with the G4/M06-2X(Pauling) (energy/solvation(cavity)) combination agrees within 0.2 V of experimental values. The experimental oxidative stability (E(1/2)) of B(n)X(n)(2-) (X = F, Cl, OH, and CH(3)) is usually located between the values predicted using the B3LYP and M06-2X functionals. The disproportionation free energies (ΔG(dpro)) of 2B(n)H(n)(-) → B(n)H(n) + B(n)H(n)(2-) reveal that the stabilities of B(n)H(n)(-) (n = 6-13) to disproportionation decrease in the order B(8)H(8)(-) > B(9)H(9)(-) > B(11)H(11)(-) > B(10)H(10)(-). The spin densities in B(12)X(12)(-) (X = F, Cl, OH, and CH(3)) tend to delocalize on the boron atoms rather than on the exterior functional groups. The partitioning of ΔG(solv)(B(n)H(n)(2-)) over spheres allows a rationalization of the nonlinear correlation between ΔG(E.A.) and E°(Red) for B(6)H(6)(-/2-), B(11)H(11)(-/2-), and B(13)H(13)(-/2-).  相似文献

The stepwise binding energies (DeltaHdegree(n-1,n)) of 1-8 water molecules to benzene(.+) [Bz(.+)(H2O)n] were determined by equilibrium measurements using an ion mobility cell. The stepwise hydration energies, DeltaHdegree(n-1,n), are nearly constant at 8.5 +/- 1 kcal mol-1 from n = 1-6. Calculations show that in the n = 1-4 clusters, the benzene(.+) ion retains over 90% of the charge, and it is extremely solvated, that is, hydrogen bonded to an (H2O)n cluster. The binding energies and entropies are larger in the n = 7 and 8 clusters, suggesting cyclic or cage-like water structures. The concentration of the n = 3 cluster is always small, suggesting that deprotonation depletes this ion, consistent with the thermochemistry since associative deprotonation Bz(.+)(H2O)(n-1) + H2O-->C6H5. + (H2O)nH+ is thermoneutral or exothermic for n > or = 4. Associative intracluster proton transfer Bz(.+)(H2O)(n+1) + H2O-->C6H5.(H2O)nH+ would also be exothermic for n > or = 4, but lack of H/D exchange with D2O shows that the proton remains on C6H6(.+) in the observed Bz(.+)(H2O)n clusters. This suggests a barrier to intracluster proton transfer, and as a result, the [Bz(.+)(H2O)n]* activated complexes either undergo dissociative proton transfer, resulting in deprotonation and generation of (H2O)nH+, or become stabilized. The rate constant for the deprotonation reaction shows a uniquely large negative temperature coefficient of K = cT(-67+/-4) (or activation energy of -34+/- 1 kcal mol-1), caused by a multibody mechanism in which five or more components need to be assembled for the reaction.  相似文献

The vibrational OH stretch spectra have been measured for Na(H2O)n clusters in the size range from n = 8 to 60. The complete size selection is achieved by coupling the UV radiation of a dye laser below the ionization threshold with the tunable IR radiation of an optical parametric oscillator. The spectra are dominated by intensity peaks around 3400 cm(-1) which we attribute to an increased transition dipole moment of delocalized electrons in this type of doped cluster. Aside from the positions of free (3715 cm(-1)) and double donor (3560 cm(-1)) bonds which are known from pure water clusters, specific transitions are observed at 3640 cm(-1) and in the range of the single donor bonds between 3000 and 3200 cm(-1).  相似文献

The structure and growth trend of the protonated acetophenone-water clusters have been investigated using the DFT-B3LYP method combined with the standard 6-31+G(d,p) basis set. In order to obtain more accurate single-point energy the B3LYP/6-311++G(3df,2p) method was adapted. The results show that the formation of H+C8H8O-H2O is a barrierless reaction process and the equilibrium distance between the proton and the O atom in C8H8O molecule is 1.015 A. For H+C8H8O-(H2O)n(n=1,2,3) clusters, the proton lies between the acetophenone molecule C8H8O and the water molecule H2O. The distance between the proton and the O atom of the C8H8O molecule increased from n=1 to n=3; C8H8O-H+-H2O can be regarded as an solvation shell. For H+C8H8O (H2O)n (n=4,5,6,7,8) clusters, the proton lies between the two H2O molecules forming a H5O2+ structure, C8H8O-H5O2+ is an important structure, which the other H2O molecules will attack from different sides.  相似文献

We have studied C(2)H(4) and O(2) molecules separately or simultaneously for adsorption on V(n) (n = 2-8) clusters, and V(n) clusters catalyzed ethylene oxidation to acetaldehyde using spin-polarized density functional theory calculations. Molecular adsorption and clear size-dependent adsorption energy are predicted for C(2)H(4). O(2) is dissociately adsorbed with nearly constant adsorption energy. In the case of coadsorption, O(2) and C(2)H(4) adsorb on the V(n) surface simultaneously. Each keeps the same adsorption form, molecular or dissociative, as in separate adsorption. The noted cooperative effect is noted in C(2)H(4) and O(2) coadsorption, which activates the C-C double bond of C(2)H(4) and favors its oxidization. Furthermore, both the separate and coadsorptions result in magnetic enhancement or reduction of V(n), which is found to be dependent on the cluster size and the adsorbates. In addition, we reveal the reaction mechanism of V(2) (V(6))-catalyzed ethylene oxidation to acetaldehyde and find the overall reaction is exothermic and barrierless.  相似文献

Reactions of neutral vanadium oxide clusters with small hydrocarbons, namely C2H6, C2H4, and C2H2, are investigated by experiment and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Single photon ionization through extreme ultraviolet (EUV, 46.9 nm, 26.5 eV) and vacuum ultraviolet (VUV, 118 nm, 10.5 eV) lasers is used to detect neutral cluster distributions and reaction products. The most stable vanadium oxide clusters VO2, V2O5, V3O7, V4O10, etc. tend to associate with C2H4 generating products V(m)O(n)C2H4. Oxygen-rich clusters VO3(V2O5)(n=0,1,2...), (e.g., VO3, V3O8, and V5O13) react with C2H4 molecules to cause a cleavage of the C=C bond of C2H4 to produce (V2O5)(n)VO2CH2 clusters. For the reactions of vanadium oxide clusters (V(m)O(n)) with C2H2 molecules, V(m)O(n)C2H2 are assigned as the major products of the association reactions. Additionally, a dehydration reaction for VO3 + C2H2 to produce VO2C2 is also identified. C2H6 molecules are quite stable toward reaction with neutral vanadium oxide clusters. Density functional theory calculations are employed to investigate association reactions for V2O5 + C2H(x). The observed relative reactivity of C2 hydrocarbons toward neutral vanadium oxide clusters is well interpreted by using the DFT calculated binding energies. DFT calculations of the pathways for VO3+C2H4 and VO3+C2H2 reaction systems indicate that the reactions VO3+C2H4 --> VO2CH2 + H2CO and VO3+C2H2 --> VO2C2 + H2O are thermodynamically favorable and overall barrierless at room temperature, in good agreement with the experimental observations.  相似文献

Clusters of Cu (2+)(H 2O) n , n = 6-12, formed by electrospray ionization, are investigated using infrared photodissociation spectroscopy, blackbody infrared radiative dissociation (BIRD), and density functional theory of select clusters. At 298 K, the BIRD rate constants increase with increasing cluster size for n >or= 8, but the trend reverses for the smaller clusters where Cu (2+)(H 2O) 6 is less stable than Cu (2+)(H 2O) 8. This trend in stability is consistent with a change in fragmentation pathway from loss of a water molecule for clusters with n >or= 9 to loss of hydrated protonated water clusters and the formation of the corresponding singly charged hydrated metal hydroxide for n 相似文献

This work presents a study of reactions between neutral and negatively charged Au(n) clusters (n=2,3) and molecular hydrogen. The binding energies of the first and second hydrogen molecule to the gold clusters were determined using density functional theory (DFT), second order perturbation theory (MP2) and coupled cluster (CCSD(T)) methods. It is found that molecular hydrogen easily binds to neutral Au(2) and Au(3) clusters with binding energies of 0.55 eV and 0.71 eV, respectively. The barriers to H(2) dissociation on these clusters with respect to Au(n)H(2) complexes are 1.10 eV and 0.59 eV for n=2 and 3. Although negatively charged Au(n) (-) clusters do not bind molecular hydrogen, H(2) dissociation can occur with energy barriers of 0.93 eV for Au(2) (-) and 1.39 eV for Au(3) (-). The energies of the Au(2)H(2) (-) and Au(3)H(2) (-) complexes with dissociated hydrogen molecules are lower than the energies of Au(2) (-)+H(2) and Au(3) (-)+H(2) by 0.49 eV and 0.96 eV, respectively. There is satisfactory agreement between the DFT and CCSD(T) results for binding energies, but the agreement is not as good for barrier heights.  相似文献

Two novel 3-D coordination polymers with different Cu(II) subunits as nodes and mixed bridging ligands as linkers, namely [Cu(5)(μ(3)-OH)(2)(1,3-bip)(2)(CH(3)O-ip)(4)](n) (1) and {[Cu(4)(1,3-btp)(2)(CH(3)O-p)(4)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O}(n) (2) (CH(3)O-H(2)ip = 5-methoxyisophthalate, 1,3-bip = 1,3-bis(imidazol)propane, 1,3-btp = 1,3-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)propane), were prepared under hydrothermal conditions. Complex 1 exhibits a CsCl-type network with [Cu(5)(μ(3)-OH)(2)](8+) clusters acting as nodes, which represents the first 3-D network based on pentanuclear Cu(II) clusters. Complex 2 features a 3-D pillared-layer network with (4,6)-connected (4(4).6(2))(4(4).6(8).8(3))-fsc topology, which is a rare example of homometallic coordination polymers constructed by alternate binuclear metal clusters and single metal centres. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements show dominant ferromagnetic interactions in the pentanuclear clusters of 1 and strong antiferromagnetic interactions in the dinuclear paddle-wheel units of 2.  相似文献

Hydration of the atomic oxygen radical anion is studied with computational electronic structure methods, considering (O(-))(H(2)O)(n) clusters and related proton-transferred (OH(-))(OH)(H(2)O)(n)(-)(1) clusters having n = 1-5. A total of 67 distinct local-minimum structures having various interesting hydrogen bonding motifs are obtained and analyzed. On the basis of the most stable form of each type, (O(-))(H(2)O)(n)) clusters are energetically favored, although for n > or = 3, there is considerable overlap in energy between other members of the (O(-))(H(2)O)(n) family and various members of the (OH(-))(OH)(H(2)O)(n)(-)(1) family. In the lower-energy (O(-))(H(2)O)(n) clusters, the hydrogen bonding arrangement about the oxygen anion center tends to be planar, leaving the oxygen anion p-like orbital containing the unpaired electron uninvolved in hydrogen bonding with any water molecule. In (OH(-))(OH)(H(2)O)(n)(-)(1) clusters, on the other hand, nonplanar arrangements are the rule about the anionic oxygen center that accepts hydrogen bonds. No instances are found of OH(-) acting as a hydrogen bond donor. Those OH bonds that form hydrogen bonds to an anionic O(-) or OH(-) center are significantly stretched from their equilibrium value in isolated water or hydroxyl. A quantitative inverse correlation is established for all hydrogen bonds between the amount of the OH bond stretch and the distance to the other oxygen involved in the hydrogen bond.  相似文献

The authors present theoretical results describing the adsorption of H2 and H2S molecules on small neutral and cationic gold clusters (Au(n)((0/+1)), n=1-8) using density functional theory with the generalized gradient approximation. Lowest energy structures of the gold clusters along with their isomers are considered in the optimization process for molecular adsorption. The adsorption energies of H2S molecule on the cationic clusters are generally greater than those on the corresponding neutral clusters. These are also greater than the H2 adsorption energies on the corresponding cationic and neutral clusters. The adsorption energies for cationic clusters decrease with increasing cluster size. This fact is reflected in the elongations of the Au-S and Au-H bonds indicating weak adsorption as the cluster grows. In most cases, the geometry of the lowest energy gold cluster remains planar even after the adsorption. In addition, the adsorbed molecule gets adjusted such that its center of mass lies on the plane of the gold cluster. Study of the orbital charge density of the gold adsorbed H2S molecule reveals that conduction is possible through molecular orbitals other than the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital level. The dissociation of the cationic Au(n)SH2+ cluster into Au(n)S+ and H2 is preferred over the dissociation into Au(m)SH2+ and Au(n-m), where n=2-8 and m=1-(n-1). H2S adsorbed clusters with odd number of gold atoms are more stable than neighboring even n clusters.  相似文献

Based on Becke's three parameter functional [J. Chem. Phys. 98, 5648 (1993)] of density functional theory (DFT) with the correlation of Lee-Yang-Parr [Phys. Rev. B 37, 785 (1988)] (DFT/B3LYP), the natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis, the Bader's theory of atoms in molecule (AIM), our calculations indicate that as cluster size (n) increases, the n-dependent cooperative changes in the lengths of the N...H H bonds (HBs) and N-H bonds, the N-H stretching frequencies and intensities, and the n(N)-->sigma*(N-H) charge transfers are observed to be pervasive in the circular cis, trans-cyclotriazane clusters (n = 3-8), which is very different from the linear cis, trans-cyclotriazane clusters reported in previous work. According to the NBO and AIM theories, the cooperativity of the intermolecular n(N)-->sigma*(N-H) interaction leads to the n-dependent N...H contractions. In this way, the stronger N...H bond is formed, as reflected in the increase in their rho(r(cp)) values. This increased electron density is translated into the improved capacity to concentrate electrons at the HB bond critical point (BCP), i.e., a higher potential energy V(r(cp)). On the other hand, stronger repulsion is also activated to counteract the contraction, which is reflected in the increased G(r(cp)) value that gives the tendency of the system to dilute electrons at the HB BCP. In terms of the three-body symmetry-adapted perturbation theory (three-body SAPT), the induction nonadditivity accounts for up to 97% of the nonadditive energy in the circular trimer. It can believed that the marked cooperativity of the n(N)-->sigma*(N-H) interactions is of nonadditive induction in nature. The N...H formation and nature of cooperativity in the circular clusters differ from those in the linear clusters that have been reported previously. According to the SAPT(DFT) method which is a combination of SAPT with the asymptotically corrected DFT, the cis, trans-cyclotriazane systems should contain remarkable dispersion interactions. However, the short-range dispersion cannot be reproduced thoroughly by DFT/B3LYP. A quantum cluster equilibrium model illustrates the neglected dispersion energies and the nonadditive energies can affect markedly the properties of the liquid consisting of the circular clusters.  相似文献

Potassium o-nitrophenolate (1) was reacted with various lanthanide trichlorides under different reaction conditions. By using the smaller lanthanides and working under rigorous exclusion of air, infinite chains of composition [(THF)4[K(o-O2N-C6H4-O)4Ln]4]n (Ln = Y (2a), Er (2b), Lu (2c)) were obtained. Using the same conditions but performing the crystallization under air, tetradecanuclear clusters of composition H18[Ln14(micro-eta2-o-O2N-C6H4-O)8(eta2-o-O2N-C6H4-O)16(micro4-O)2(micro3-O)16] (Ln = Dy (3a), Er (3b), Tm (3c), Yb (3d)) were isolated. Using larger center metals such as samarium, europium, and terbium and working under rigorous exclusion of air, infinite layers of composition [[K2(o-O2N-C6H4-O)5Tb]n] (4) and [[K2(o-O2N-C6H4-O)5Ln)]n] (Ln = Sm (5a), Eu (5b)) were obtained. In 4 the layers have a closer packing than those in compound 5. The closer packing is a result of the increased coordination number of the lanthanide metal and the potassium atoms. In contrast, the more open structures of 5 results in channels which are rectangular through the layers. All compounds reported including 1 have been investigated by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献
