This study is devoted to recovering two initial values for a time‐fractional diffusion‐wave equation from boundary Cauchy data. We provide the uniqueness result for recovering two initial values simultaneously by the method of Laplace transformation and analytic continuation. And then we use a nonstationary iterative Tikhonov regularization method to solve the inverse problem and propose a finite dimensional approximation algorithm to find good approximations to the initial values. Numerical examples in one‐ and two‐dimensional cases are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to draw attention to an interesting semilinear parabolic equation that arose when describing the chaotic dynamics of a polymer molecule in a liquid. This equation is nonlocal in time and contains a term, called the interaction potential, that depends on the time‐integral of the solution over the entire interval of solving the problem. In fact, one needs to know the “future” in order to determine the coefficient in this term, that is, the causality principle is violated. The existence of a weak solution of the initial boundary value problem is proven. The interaction potential satisfies fairly general conditions and can have arbitrary growth at infinity. The uniqueness of this solution is established with restrictions on the length of the considered time interval.  相似文献

This study deals with the numerical investigation of a mathematical model of breast cancer at the initial growth stage known as ductal carcinoma in situ. This model considered as an inverse problem and the uniqueness of solution of this inverse problem is proved. To solve this problem, a computational approach is developed based on an iterative procedure and space marching and mollification methods. The stability and convergence results are given to support the method theoretically. Two test problems are considered to demonstrate the efficiency and ability of the proposed numerical approach.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the initial boundary value problem for generalized logarithmic improved Boussinesq equation. By using the Galerkin method, logarithmic Sobolev inequality, logarithmic Gronwall inequality, and compactness theorem, we show the existence of global weak solution to the problem. By potential well theory, we show the norm of the solution will grow up as an exponential function as time goes to infinity under some suitable conditions. Furthermore, for the generalized logarithmic improved Boussinesq equation with damped term, we obtain the decay estimate of the energy. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, an inverse boundary value problem for a two-dimensional hyperbolic equation with overdetermination conditions is studied. To investigate the solvability of the original problem, we first consider an auxiliary inverse boundary value problem and prove its equivalence to the original problem in a certain sense. We then use the Fourier method to reduce such an equivalent problem to a system of integral equations. Furthermore, we prove the existence and uniqueness theorem for the auxiliary problem by the contraction mappings principle. Based on the equivalency of these problems, the existence and uniqueness theorem for the classical solution of the original inverse problem is proved. Some discussions on the numerical solutions for this inverse problem are presented including some numerical examples.  相似文献

The method of boundary integral equations is used for solving the first initial boundary value problem for a compound type equation in a three-dimensional multiply connected region. The problem is reduced to a uniquely solvable integral equation. The solution of the problem is obtained in the form of dynamic potentials whose density satisfies this integral equation. Thus the existence theorem is proved. Moreover, the uniqueness of the solution is also studied. All the results are valid for both interior and exterior regions provided that the corresponding conditions at infinity are taken into account. For a hyperbolic wave equation with some parameter λ, we consider the problem of finding the piecewise constant wave propagation speed and a series of parameters in the conjugation condition. Moreover, the shape is assumed unknown of the impulse point source that excites the oscillation process. We prove that, under certain assumptions on the structure of the medium, its sought parameters are determined uniquely from the displacements of points of the boundary given for two different values of λ. Knowing an equation has a unique solution is important from both a modelling and theoretical point of view. For over 70 years, the approach to learning and teaching ‘well posedness’ of initial value problems (IVPs) for second- and higher-order ordinary differential equations has involved transforming the problem and its analysis to a first-order system of equations. We show that this excursion is unnecessary and present a direct approach regarding second- and higher-order problems that does not require an understanding of systems.  相似文献

The investigation of nonclassical parabolic initial‐boundary value problems, which involve an integral over the spatial domain of a function of the desired solution, is of considerable concern. In this article a parabolic partial differential equation subject to energy overspecification is studied. This problem is appeared in modeling of many physical phenomena. The Adomian decomposition method, which is an efficient method for solving various class of problems, is employed for solving this model. This method provides an analytical solution in terms of an infinite convergent power series.
