The plane steady contact problem of thermoelasticity when there is heat generation from friction, which arises when an infinite cylindrical punch moves over the surface of an elastic half-space along its generatrix, is considered. It is assumed that heat exchange between the free boundary of the half-space and the surrounding medium obeys Newton's law, while the condition for ideal thermal contact exists in the region in which the solids interact. The problem is reduced to a system of three integral equations in the heat fluxes and temperature. The effect of the thermal and mechanical properties of the cylinder and the half-space on the main contact characteristics is investigated numerically.  相似文献

A model of the rolling of a rough cylinder on an elastic half-space when there is adhesive attraction between the surfaces, due to molecular interaction, is constructed. The contact characteristics and moment of the adhesive resistance to rolling are calculated.  相似文献

The axisymmetric problem of the contact interaction of a punch of polynomial profile and an elastic half-space when there is friction and partial adhesion in the contact area is considered. Using the Wiener–Hopf method the problem is reduced to an infinite system of algebraic Poincare–Koch equations, the solution of which is obtained in series. The radii of the contact area and of the adhesion zone, the distribution of the contact pressures and the indentation of the punch are obtained.  相似文献

A variational method is developed for solving friction contact problems, in which the friction obeys Coulomb's of friction law in velocities, and numerical solutions of three-dimensional problems of the contact of a sphere, a cylinder of finite length and a cube with an elastic half-space are constructed. It is established that the maximum frictional forces correspond to a boundary point of the regions of adhesion and slippage. When the number of steps, increase this maximum decreases, and the distribution of the frictional forces becomes smoother. Certain undesirable effects that can arise during numerical implementation of the method – numerical artefacts – are described. These effects can occur in the numerical solution of problems with a different physical content, the mathematical structure of which is similar to the structure of the contact problems investigated, as the artefacts are caused by the presence of unilateral constraints and by the dependence on external effects of the region in which unilateral constraints with an equally sign occur. This problem is solved by an appropriate choice of the load-step zero approximations.  相似文献

We propose a method of solution of problems of thermoelasticity for an inhomogeneous half-space. We assume that Poisson's ratio of a material in the half-space is constant, and Young's modulus and the coefficients of linear thermal expansion and thermal conduction vary exponentially with distance from the surface of the half-space. As an example, we consider the contact problem on sliding an inhomogeneous body along the surface of a rigid base with regard for frictional heating. I. Solutions are presented herein of some contact problems connected with the torsion of a composite half-space. In the general case the problem of the torsion of a composite elastic half-space is examined by means of the rotation of a stiff finite cylinder welded into a vertical recess of this half-space. Moreover, the following particular problems on the torsion of such a half-space are considered.

1. 1) A composite half-space with a vertical elastic infinite core, twisted by means of the rotation of a stiff stamp affixed to the upper endplate of the elastic core.

2. 2) A half-space with a vertical cylindrical infinite hole, twisted by means of the rotation of a stiff finite cylinder welded into the upper part of this hole.

In the general case the solution of the problem reduces to the solution of an integral equation of the second kind on a half-line. The question of the solvability of this fundamental integral equation is investigated, and it is shown that its solution may be constructed by successive approximations.

Let us note that the problem of the torsion of a homogeneous half space and of an elastic layer by means of rotation of a stiff stamp has been considered by Rostovtsev [1], Reissner and Sagoci [2], Ufliand [3], Florence [4], Grilitskii [5] and others.

The problem of the torsion of a circular cylindrical rod and the half-space welded to it which are subject to a torque applied to the free endface of the rod has been considered by Grilitskii and Kizyma[6].

The torsion of an elastic half-space with a vertical cylindrical inclusion of some other material by the rotation of a stiff stamp on the surface of this half-space has been considered in [7], wherein it has been assumed that the stamp is symmetrically disposed relative to the axis of the inclusion and lies simultaneously on both materials.  相似文献

A rigid smooth indentor slides at a constant speed on a compressibleisotropic neo-Hookean half-space that is subjected to pre-stressaligned with the surface and sliding direction. A dynamic steady-slidingsituation of plane strain is treated as the superposition ofcontact-triggered infinitesimal deformations superposed uponfinite deformations due to pre-stress. The neo-Hookean materialbehaves for small strains as a linear elastic solid with Poisson'sratio 1 : 4. Exact solutions are presented for both deformationsand, for a range of acceptable pre-stress values, the infinitesimalcomponent exhibits the typical non-isotropy induced by pre-stress,and several critical speeds. In view of the unilateral constraintsof contact, these speeds serve to define the sliding speed rangesfor which physically acceptable solutions arise. A Rayleighspeed is the upper bound for subsonic sliding, and transonicsliding can occur only at a single speed. For the generic parabolicindentor, contact zone traction continuity is lost at the zoneleading edge for trans- and supersonic sliding. For pre-stresslevels that fall outside the acceptable range, either a negativePoisson effect occurs, or a Rayleigh speed does not exist andthe unilateral constraints cannot be satisfied for any subsonicsliding speed. The indentation of an elastic half-space by an axisymmetricrigid punch under normal load is considered. The contact areais divided into an inner region with adhesion, the dimensionof which is known beforehand, surrounded by an annular slipzone. Two different cases of the problem, given by the assumptionsof friction-free slip or Coulomb friction, are treated. In thefriction-free case the problem is formulated in terms of a coupledpair of Cauchy type integrals for Abel transforms of the normaland shear stresses at the surface of the half-space. These arecombined to an inhomogeneous Fredholm equation which is solvedby a method of successive approximations, and the stresses areobtained as Abel transform inversions of its solution. In thecase with Coulomb friction the problem is solved by a numericalmethod based on piecewise constant approximations to the surfacestresses.  相似文献

Transient vibrations of the system {structure–seabed–water layer} are investigated. The schematic representation of the structure consists of a rigid circular foundation slab and a superstructure in the form of a vertical viscoelastic cylinder with lumped masses. The interaction of the foundation with a viscoelastic half-space (the seabed) is taken into account by using the method of orthogonal polynomials to solve the dynamical contact boundary-value problem. A procedure is developed for including in the analysis the interaction of a cylindrical foundation-supported structure with the water layer (to simulate the dynamics of an oil-drilling platform). The assumed load is seismic action specified by an analog accelerogram of the local area. A computational system is developed for numerical simulation of the vibrations and for determining the forces, displacements, accelerations, and contact stresses.  相似文献

The contact problem is considered for a thin elastic annular layer compressed by a rigid cylinder with initial contact over a considerable area. Relations for calculating the maximum contact stresses in sliding bearings with plastic bushes are obtained with allowance for the wear of the bush. From an analysis of these relations it follows that, as the bush wear increases, the maximum contact stresses fall appreciably. This offers a partial explanation of the fall in wear rate as the bearing is run in.Bryansk Machine-Building Plant. The plane contact problem of elasticity theory on the interaction when there are friction forces in the contact area of an absolutely rigid cylinder (punch) with an internal surface of a cylindrical base, consisting of two circular cylindrical layers rigidly connected to one another and with an elastic space, is considered. The layers and space have different elastic constants. A vertical force and a counterclockwise torque, act on the punch, and the punch – base system is in a state of limiting equilibrium,. An exact integral equation of the first kind with a kernel represented in an explicit analytical form, is obtained for the first time for this problem using analytical calculation programs. The main properties of the kernel of the integral equation are investigated, and it is shown that the numerator and denominator of the kernel symbols can be represented in the form of polynomials in products of the powers of the moduli of the displacement of the layers and the half-space. A solution of the integral equation is constructed by the direct collocation method, which enables the solution of the problem to be obtained for practically any values of the initial parameters. The contact stress distributions, the dimensions of the contact area, the interconnection between the punch displacement and the forces and torques acting on it are calculated as a function of the geometrical and mechanical parameters of the layers and the space. The results of the calculations in special cases are compared with previously known results.  相似文献

Three-dimensional contact problems on the interaction of two similar punches on an elastic transversely isotropic half-space (five elastic constants) are investigated, when the isotropy planes are perpendicular to the boundary of the half-space. In this connection the stiffness of the half-space boundary depends on the direction. The kernel of the integral equation of the contact problems is represented in a quadrature-free form using the theory of generalized functions. This form of the kernel enables it to be regularized at singular points and enables Galanov's method to be used to solve the contact problem with an unknown contact area.  相似文献

The electromagnetic diffusion and the electromechanical phenomena arising in a solid cylinder rotating inside a magnetic field are here analyzed. The study is developed through a time stepping Finite Element voltage-driven formulation, employing the sliding mesh technique for handling the cylinder motion. The influence on the dynamic behavior and energy dissipation of the material electric and magnetic properties, the geometrical parameters and the supply conditions is investigated considering a model problem.  相似文献

Functionally graded magneto-electro-elastic (FGMEE) materials has been increasingly used in engineering applications, particularly in smart material or intelligent structure systems. This paper proposes a semi-analytical approach for sliding frictional contact problem between a rigid insulating sphere and a transversely isotropic FGMEE film and half-space based on frequency response functions (FRFs). Multilayered approximation is used to model the functionally graded material (FGM), and the FRFs for each MEE layer are derived explicitly. The unknown coefficients in FRFs are formulated by two matrix equations, and their efficient solution process is proposed. Based on the obtained FRFs, a highly efficient semi-analytical model (SAM) is developed which is able to solve the three-dimensional frictional contact of FGMEE materials with arbitrary layer designs. The model is validated with finite element method and the literature. Furthermore, the pressure/stress distribution and electric/magnetic potential are studied in different FGM designs to investigate the influence of material layout.  相似文献

The elastodynamic problem of a rigid punch moving at a constant sub-Rayleigh speed across the surface of an elastic half-space is investigated in the present paper. The unknown contact region is determined as part of solution from the unilateral or Signorini conditions. Numerical results are plotted showing how the eccentricity of the contact ellipse changes with the punch speed. Some asymptotic properties of the solution for the case where the punch speed is comparable with the Rayleigh wave speed are explored in details.  相似文献

An axially symmetric problem of frictionless contact interaction of an elastic half-space and a rigid base that has a small surface recess is considered. A corresponding problem of elasticity theory is formulated. The problem is solved by the method of double integral equations. The contact pressure, the surface shape of the half-space after compression, and the size of the gap are found in closed form.  相似文献

The action of a rigid stamp moving at a constant speed, on the boundary of an elastic half-space, is investigated. It is assumed that the frictional forces between the stamp and the surface of the half-space are absent. The integral equation obtained in [1] yields formulas for the pressure, for the case when the area of contact between the stamp and the half-space has an elliptic form.  相似文献

The solvability in Sobolev spaces is proved for divergence form complex-valued higher order parabolic systems in the whole space, on a half-space, and on a Reifenberg flat domain. The leading coefficients are assumed to be merely measurable in one spacial direction and have small mean oscillations in the orthogonal directions on each small cylinder. The directions in which the coefficients are only measurable vary depending on each cylinder. The corresponding elliptic problem is also considered.  相似文献
