Four new dipyridylamino-substituted s-triazine ligands DBB (N(2),N(2),N(4),N(4)-tetrabenzyl-N(6),N(6)-di(pyridin-2-yl)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine), DDB (N(2),N(2),N(4),N(4)-tetrabutyl-N(6),N(6)-di(pyridin-2-yl)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine), DCCl (6-chloro-N(2),N(2)-dicyclohexyl-N(4),N(4)-di(pyridin-2-yl)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine) and DDT (N(2),N(2),N(4),N(4)-tetraphenyl-N(6),N(6)-di(pyridin-2-yl)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine), have been incorporated into eight new, 0D Fe(II) compounds of type [Fe(II)(NCX)(2)(L)(2)]·Solvent (where NCX = NCS(-), NCSe(-) or N(CN)(2)(-)). The polymorphic compounds α-trans-[Fe(II)(NCS)(2)(DBB)(2)] (1) and β-trans-[Fe(II)(NCS)(2)(DBB)(2)] (2) display, respectively, a relatively abrupt, complete, one-step spin transition with T(?) ~ 170 K, and a more gradual, complete, one-step spin transition with T(?) ~ 300 K. Gradual, one-step spin transitions are observed for trans-[Fe(II)(N(CN)(2))(2)(DBB)(2)]·2CH(3)CH(2)OH (3) and trans-[Fe(II)(NCSe)(2)(DCCl)(2)]·2CH(3)OH (6) with T(?) ~ 280 K for both, while the one-step spin transition observed for a desolvated sample of trans-[Fe(II)(NCSe)(2)(DDB)(2)]·2CH(3)OH (4) is relatively abrupt, showing hysteresis with T(?↑) = 285 K and T(?↓) = 275 K. The compounds cis-[Fe(II)(NCS)(2)(DDB)(2)] (5) and trans-[Fe(II)(NCS)(2)(DDT)(2)]·4CH(2)Cl(2) (7) remain high spin, while structural data on trans-[Fe(II)(NCSe)(2)(DDT)(2)]·4CH(2)Cl(2) (8) suggests a spin transition at low temperatures. It is likely that distortion of the Fe(II)N(6) octahedron, intermolecular interactions and molecular conformation are crucial in deciding both the T(?) and abruptness of the spin transition for these species, although the nature of their influence varies. Variable temperature powder X-ray diffraction measurements on the polymorphs 1 and 2 reveal anisotropy in the unit cell parameters as the spin transition occurs.  相似文献

The reaction of N(1),N(2)-bis(pyridin-4-ylmethylene)ethane-1,2-diamine (L) with Fe(NCS)(2) under various temperatures gave rise to three iron(II) coordination polymers, namely, one-dimensional [Fe(L')(NCS)(2)] (1), two-dimensional [Fe(L)(2)(NCS)(2)]·H(2)O (2), and one-dimensional [Fe(L)(2)(NCS)(2)]·2CH(2)Cl(2)·4MeOH (3). The formation of 1 involved an in situ C═C coupling reaction, L to L' [L' = 5,6-di(pyridin-4-yl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrazine], which was catalyzed by cyanide ions decomposed from thiocyanates; the manganese(II) (1a) and zinc(II) (1b) analogues of 1 were also synthesized for comparison. Magnetic studies showed that complex 1 underwent a pressure-dependent one-step incomplete spin transition whereas complexes 2 and 3 were paramagnetic in the whole temperature range.  相似文献

The new dipyridylamino/triazine ligand DDE (N(2),N(2),N(4),N(4)-tetraethyl-N(6),N(6)-di(pyridin-2-yl)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine) has been incorporated into the mononuclear Fe(II) SCO compounds cis-[Fe(II)(NCSe)(2)(DDE)(2)] (1), cis-[Fe(II)(NCBH(3))(2)(DDE)(2)] (2), and cis-[Fe(II)(NCS)(2)(DDE)(2)] (3). Magnetic susceptibility measurements reveal that each of 1, 2 and 3 undergoes a complete, continuous spin transition with a T(?) of ~260 K, ~300 K and ~205 K, respectively. An analogue and isomorph of 1, cis-[Co(II)(NCSe)(2)(DDE)(2)] (4), remains high spin down to low temperatures. Variable temperature single crystal data reveal that 1 and 4 undergo a crystallographic phase transition (from orthorhombic Pbcn at high temperatures to monoclinic P2/c at low temperatures) accompanied by an order-disorder transition of ethyl moieties of the DDE ligand. In the Pbcn phase, the structures of 1 and 4 contain one crystallographically unique M(II) centre, while in the P2/c phase, 1 and 4 contain two crystallographically unique M(II) centres. Variable temperature powder X-ray diffraction experiments reveal that the crystallographic phase transition occurs at ~250 K for 1. The occurrence of the concomitant order-disorder and crystallographic phase transitions undergone by 1 and 4 is not directly apparent in their magnetic susceptibility measurements, and this is likely due to the local environment of the M(II) centres remaining largely undisturbed as the transitions occur. The compound 2 is isostructural to 1 and 4 at low temperatures.  相似文献

We report the characterization and solution chemistry of a series of Fe(II) complexes based on the pentadentate ligands N4Py (1,1-di(pyridin-2-yl)-N,N-bis(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)methanamine), MeN4Py (1,1-di(pyridin-2-yl)-N,N-bis(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)ethanamine), and the tetradentate ligand Bn-N3Py (N-benzyl-1,1-di(pyridin-2-yl)-N-(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)methanamine) ligands, i.e., [Fe(N4Py)(CH(3)CN)](ClO(4))(2) (1), [Fe(MeN4Py)(CH(3)CN)](ClO(4))(2) (2), and [Fe(Bn-N3Py)(CH(3)CN)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (3), respectively. Complexes 2 and 3 are characterized by X-ray crystallography, which indicates that they are low-spin Fe(II) complexes in the solid state. The solution properties of 1-3 are investigated using (1)H NMR, UV/vis absorption, and resonance Raman spectroscopies, cyclic voltammetry, and ESI-MS. These data confirm that in acetonitrile the complexes retain their solid-state structure, but in water immediate ligand exchange of the CH(3)CN ligand(s) for hydroxide or aqua ligands occurs with full dissociation of the polypyridyl ligand at low (<3) and high (>9) pH. pH jumping experiments confirm that over at least several minutes the ligand dissociation observed is fully reversible for complexes 1 and 2. In the pH range between 5 and 8, complexes 1 and 2 show an equilibrium between two different species. Furthermore, the aquated complexes show a spin equilibrium between low- and high-spin states with the equilibrium favoring the high-spin state for 1 but favoring the low-spin state for 2. Complex 3 forms only one species over the pH range 4-8, outside of which ligand dissociation occurs. The speciation analysis and the observation of an equilibrium between spin states in aqueous solution is proposed to be the origin of the effectiveness of complex 1 in cleaving DNA in water with (3)O(2) as terminal oxidant.  相似文献

Four new potentially polytopic nitrogen donor ligands based on the 1,3,5-triazine fragment, L(1)-L(4) (L(1) = 2-chloro-4,6-di(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-1,3,5-triazine, L(2) = N,N'-bis(4,6-di(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)ethane-1,2-diamine, L(3) = 2,4,6-tris(tri(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl)-1,3,5-triazine, and L(4) = 2,4,6-tris(2,2,2-tri(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)ethoxy)-1,3,5-triazine) have been synthesized and characterized. The X-ray crystal structure of L(3) confirms that its molecular nature consists of a 1,3,5-triazine ring bearing three tripodal tris(pyrazolyl) arms. L(1), L(2), and L(4) react with Cu(I), Cu(II), Pd(II) and Ag(I) salts yielding mono-, di-, and oligonuclear derivatives: [Cu(L(1))(Cy(3)P)]ClO(4), [{Ag(2)(L(2))}(CF(3)SO(3))(2)]·H(2)O, [Cu(2)(L(2))(NO(3))(2)](NO(3))(2)·H(2)O, [Cu(2)(L(2))(CH(3)COO)(2)](CH(3)COO)(2)·3H(2)O, [Pd(2)(L(2))(Cl)(4)]·2H(2)O, [Ru(L(2))(Cl)(OH)]·CH(3)OH, [Ag(3)(L(4))(2)](CF(3)SO(3))(3) and [Ag(3)(L(4))(2)](BF(4))(3). The interaction of L(3) with Ag(I), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Ru(II) complexes unexpectedly produced the hydrolysis of the ligand with formation, in all cases, of tris(pyrazolyl)methane (TPM) derivatives. In detail, the already known [Ag(TPM)(2)](CF(3)SO(3)) and [Cu(TPM)(2)](NO(3))(2), as well as the new [Zn(TPM)(2)](CF(3)SO(3))(2) and [Ru(TMP)(p-cymene)]Cl(OH)·2H(2)O complexes have been isolated. Single-crystal XRD determinations on the latter derivatives confirm their formulation, evidencing, for the Ru(II) complex, an interesting supramolecular arrangement of the anions and crystallization water molecules.  相似文献

Two spin-crossover (SCO) complexes [Fe(II)(3-MeO,5-NO2-sal-N(1,4,7,10)] (1) and [Fe(II)(3-EtO,5-NO2-sal-N(1,4,7,10)] (2) have been prepared and studied (3-MeO,5-NO2-sal-N(1,4,7,10) and 3-EtO,5-NO2-sal-N(1,4,7,10) are deprotonated 2-[12-(hydroxy-3-methoxy-5-nitrophenyl)-2,5,8,11-tetraazadodeca-1,11-dien-1-yl]-2-methoxy-4-nitrophenol and 2-[12-(hydroxy-3-ethoxy-5-nitrophenyl)-2,5,8,11-tetraazadodeca-1,11-dien-1-yl]-2-ethoxy-4-nitrophenol, respectively). The X-ray diffraction analysis of complex 1 (C22H26N6O8Fe) evidenced the same Pbnb orthorhombic system at 160 K (high-spin (HS) state) and 100 K (low-spin (LS) state). At 160 K, a = 8.4810(9) A, b = 14.7704(14) A, c = 18.769(2) A, V = 2351.2(4) A3, and Z = 4. At 100 K, a = 8.5317(8) A, b = 14.4674(15) A, c = 18.814(2) A, and V = 2322.2(4) A3. Complex 2 (C28H38N6O9Fe) crystallizes in the P1 triclinic system. At 160 K (HS state), a = 10.265(4) A, b = 10.861(4) A, c = 14.181(5) A, alpha = 84.18(4) degrees, beta = 70.53(5) degrees, gamma = 88.95(5) degrees, V = 1482.6(10) A3, and Z = 2. The iron(II) coordination sphere is distorted octahedral in 1 and 2 with a cis-alpha arrangement of the N4O2 donor set of the hexadentate ligand. The molecules are connected into 1D infinite chains through hydrogen contacts involving the secondary amine functions and O(nitro) atoms of the ligands in adjacent molecules. Investigation of their magnetic properties and Mossbauer spectra has revealed very different SCO behaviors: complex 1 exhibits a cooperative SCO without residual LS or HS fraction; complex 2 shows a LS <--> HS SCO involving approximately 5% of the Fe(II) ions in the 30-150 K range. The phenomenological cooperative interaction parameter J = 138 K evaluated from the area of the hysteresis loop indicates a cooperative effect weaker in 1 than in [Fe(II)(5NO2-sal-N(1,4,7,10))]. The theoretical approach to the SCO in 2 indicates a HS ground state and a LS first excited level 53 K above: the thermal dependence of the system occurs through population of vibrational states. Comparison of the structural and electronic properties of the ferrous SCO materials with parent N4O2 ligands shows that the properties of SCO are closely related to intermolecular interactions and crystal packing.  相似文献

A dinuclear iron(II) complex containing the new pyridyl bridging ligand, 2,5-di(2',2'-dipyridylamino)pyridine (ddpp) has been synthesised and characterised by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, magnetic susceptibility and M?ssbauer spectral methods. This compound, [Fe(2)(ddpp)(2)(NCS)(4)]4 CH(2)Cl(2), undergoes a two-step full spin crossover. Structural analysis at each of the three plateau temperatures has revealed a dinuclear molecule with spin states HS-HS, HS-LS and LS-LS (HS: high spin, LS: low spin) for the two iron(II) centres. This is the first time that resolution of the metal centres in a HS-LS ordered state has been achieved in a two-step dinuclear iron(II) spin-crossover compound. Thermogravimetric data show that the dichloromethane solvate molecules can be removed in two distinct steps at 120 degrees C and 200 degrees C. The partially de-solvated clathrate, [Fe(2)(ddpp)(2)(NCS)(4)]CH(2)Cl(2), undergoes a one-step transition with an increased transition temperature with respect to the as synthesised material. Structural characterisation of this material reveals subtle changes to the coordination geometries at each of the iron(II) centres and striking changes to the local environment of the dinuclear complex. The fully de-solvated material remains high spin over all temperatures. Interestingly, the solvent can be re-introduced into the monosolvated solid to achieve complete conversion back to the original two-step crossover material, [Fe(2)(ddpp)(2)(NCS)(4)]4 CH(2)Cl(2).  相似文献

A new family of neutral mononuclear iron(II) spin crossover (SCO) compounds, Fe(L1??)? (L1?? = N'-((pyridin-2-yl)methylene)benzohydrazide (HL1), N'-(1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethylidene)-benzohydrazide (HL2), N'-(phenyl(pyridin-2-yl)methylene)benzohydrazide (HL3), 2-hydroxy-N'-((pyridin-2-yl)methylene)benzohydrazide (HL?), 2-hydroxy-N'-(1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethylidene)benzohydrazide (HL?), 2-hydroxy-N'-(phenyl(pyridin-2-yl)methylene)benzohydrazide (HL?)) with N?O? donor sets have been synthesized from series tridentate Schiff base ligands with N,N,O donor sets. The investigation of magnetic properties of these compounds reveal that in the measured temperature range, compound 1 is in the high-spin (HS) state, and compound 3 and 6 are mainly in the low-spin (LS) state, whereas the other compounds exhibit various SCO properties: compound 2 undergoes a gradual incomplete SCO with characteristic temperature T(1/2) higher than 350 K; compound 4 exhibits a special stepwise thermally induced SCO occurring at ~150 K (smooth) and 200 K (two-steps, with T(S1↑/↓) = 204/202 K and T(S2↑/↓) = 227/219 K) with a mixture of the HS and LS states yielded below 100 K; compound 5 shows a gradual and complete LS?HS SCO with characteristic temperature T(1/2) = 273 K. All the three SCO compounds show the LIESST (light induced exited spin state trapping) effect with different levels of photoconversion. To thoroughly analyze these behaviours, M?ssbauer spectra and DSC of 4 and 5, crystal structures of all the compounds at 290 K and 5 in the LS state at 110 K were carried out, which confirmed the structural changes accompanying the spin transition. In addition, alkyl substitution effect on the ligand field was suggested for this system.  相似文献

The ditopic ligand PyPzOAPz (N-[(Z)-amino(pyrazin-2-yl)methylidene]-5-methyl-1-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-pyrazole-3-carbohydrazonic acid) was synthesized by in situ condensation of methyl imino pyrazine-2-carboxylate with 5-methyl-1-(2-pyridyl) pyrazole-3-carbohydrazide. In this work we have also used two of our earlier ligands PzCAP (5-methyl-N-[(1E)-1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethylidene]-1H-pyrazole-3-carbohydrazonic acid) (Dalton Trans., 2009, 8215) and PzOAP (N-[(Z)-amino(pyridin-2-yl)methylidene]-5-methyl-1H-pyrazole-3-carbohydrazonic acid) (Dalton Trans., 2007, 1229). These ligands PzCAP, PzOAP and PyPzOAPz were made to react with Mn(ClO(4))(2)·6H(2)O to produce three pentanuclear Mn(II) clusters [Mn(5)(PzCAP)(6)](ClO(4))(4) (1), [Mn(5)(PzOAP)(6)](ClO(4))(4) (2) and [Mn(5)(PyPzOAPz)(6)](ClO(4))(4) (3). These complexes have been characterized by X-ray structural analyses and variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements. All complexes have a pentanuclear core with trigonal bipyramidal arrangement of Mn(II) atoms, where, the axial metal centers have a N(3)O(3) chromophore and the equatorial centers have N(4)O(2) with an octahedral arrangement. These Mn(5)(II) clusters 1, 2 and 3 show the presence of antiferromagnetic coupling within the pentanuclear manganese(II) core (J = -2.95, -3.19 and -3.00 cm(-1) respectively). Density functional theory calculations and continuous shape measurement (CShM) studies have been performed on these complexes to provide a qualitative theoretical interpretation of the antiferromagnetic behaviour shown by them. The pentanuclear Mn(II) cluster (1) on reaction with Cu(NO(3))(2)·6H(2)O in 1:1 mole proportion in CH(3)OH:H(2)O (60?:?40) forms a homoleptic [2 × 2] tetranuclear Cu(4)(II) grid [Cu(4)(PzCAP)(4)(NO(3))(2)](NO(3))(2)·8H(2)O (4). The same Cu(4)(II) grid is also obtained from a direct reaction between the ditopic ligand PzCAP with Cu(NO(3))(2)·6H(2)O in 1:1 mole proportion. This conversion of a cluster to a grid is a novel observation.  相似文献

Spin-crossover (SCO) complex [Fe(tpa)(NCS)(2)] (tpa = tri(2-pyridylmethyl)amine) crystallized in two solvate forms, yellow [Fe(tpa)(NCS)(2)]·X [Fe:X = 1:1; X = n-PrOH (complex is named as n-PrOH), i-PrOH (i-PrOH), CH(2)Cl(2) (CH(2)Cl(2)), CHCl(3) (CHCl(3)), MeCN (MeCN)] and red [Fe(tpa)(NCS)(2)](2)·Y [Fe:Y = 2:1; Y = MeOH (MeOH), EtOH (EtOH)], respectively. Between the two forms, interesting solvent-vapor induced in situ reversible and irreversible guest molecule exchanges, [Fe(tpa)(NCS)(2)]·X ? [Fe(tpa)(NCS)(2)](2)·Y, occurred in the solid state followed by dramatic color changes as well as distinct structural and SCO behavior transformations. Comprehensive studies on structures and SCO behaviors associating guest exchanges have been conducted by X-ray single-crystal diffraction, PXRD, IR, elemental analysis, and magnetic measurements, respectively. This discrete molecular system shows unique solvent-dependent SCO behavior related to the nature of solvent molecules; the distinct color changes during guest exchange originate from the alternations of electronic states of the guest-sensitive Fe(II) centers, providing an effective route to fine-tune and optimize materials' properties by systematic structural perturbation, or serving for detection of toxic gases, such as CH(2)Cl(2) and CHCl(3).  相似文献

Two structurally and magnetically nonequivalent isomeric molecules, a cis-high-spin and a trans-low-spin isomer constitute the unit cell of a new iron(II) complex {cis-[FeL(B5)(NCS)(2)].trans-[FeL(B5)(NCS)(2)]}.CH(3)OH, , (L(B5) = N,N'-bis((2-N-methylimidazol-1-yl)methylene))-2,2-dimethylpropane-1,3-diamine); the synthesis, X-ray structure, and magnetic and M?ssbauer study of this unique example of co-crystallised geometric, conformational and electronic isomers are reported.  相似文献

Two 2,6-bispyrazolylpyridine ligands (bpp) were functionalized with pyrene moieties through linkers of different lengths. In the ligand 2,6-di(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-4-(pyren-1-yl)pyridine (L1) the pyrene group is directly connected to the bpp moiety via a C-C single bond, while in the ligand 4-(2,6-di(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)pyridin-4-yl)benzyl-4-(pyren-1-yl)butanoate (L2) it is separated by a benzyl ester group involving a flexible butanoic chain. Subsequent complexation of Fe(II) salts revealed dramatic the influence of the nature of the pyrene substitution on the spin-transition behaviour of the resulting complexes. Thus, compound [Fe(L1)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (1) is blocked in its high spin state due to constraints caused by a strong intermolecular π-π stacking in its structure. On the other hand, the flexible chain of ligand L2 in compounds [Fe(L2)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (2) and [Fe(L2)(2)](BF(4))(2)·CH(3)CN·H(2)O (3) prevents structural constraints allowing for reversible spin transitions. Temperature-dependent studies of the photophysical properties of compound 3 do not reveal any obvious correlation between the fluorescence of the pyrene group and the spin state of the spin transition core.  相似文献

Reaction between the Os(VI)-hydrazido complex, trans-[Os(VI)(tpy)(Cl)(2)(NN(CH(2))(4)O)](2+) (tpy = 2,2':6',2"-terpyridine and O(CH(2))(4)N(-) = morpholide), and a series of N- or O-bases gives as products the substituted Os(VI)-hydrazido complexes, trans-[Os(VI)(4'-RNtpy)(Cl)(2)(NN(CH(2))(4)O)](2+) or trans-[Os(VI)(4'-ROtpy)(Cl)(2)(NN(CH(2))(4)O)](2+) (RN(-) = anilide (PhNH(-)); S,S-diphenyl sulfilimide (Ph(2)S=N(-)); benzophenone imide (Ph(2)C=N(-)); piperidide ((CH(2))(5)N(-)); morpholide (O(CH(2))(4)N(-)); ethylamide (EtNH(-)); diethylamide (Et(2)N(-)); and tert-butylamide (t-BuNH(-)) and RO(-) = tert-butoxide (t-BuO(-)) and acetate (MeCO(2)(-)). The rate law for the formation of the morpholide-substituted complex is first order in trans-[Os(VI)(tpy)(Cl)(2)(NN(CH(2))(4)O)](2+) and second order in morpholine with k(morp)(25 degrees C, CH(3)CN) = (2.15 +/- 0.04) x 10(6) M(-)(2) s(-)(1). Possible mechanisms are proposed for substitution at the 4'-position of the tpy ligand by the added nucleophiles. The key features of the suggested mechanisms are the extraordinary electron withdrawing effect of Os(VI) on tpy and the ability of the metal to undergo intramolecular Os(VI) to Os(IV) electron transfer. These substituted Os(VI)-hydrazido complexes can be electrochemically reduced to the corresponding Os(V), Os(IV), and Os(III) forms. The Os-N bond length of 1.778(4) A and Os-N-N angle of 172.5(4) degrees in trans-[Os(VI)(4'-O(CH(2))(4)Ntpy)(Cl)(2)(NN(CH(2))(4)O)](2+) are consistent with sp-hybridization of the alpha-nitrogen of the hydrazido ligand and an Os-N triple bond. The extensive ring substitution chemistry implied for the Os(VI)-hydrazido complexes is discussed.  相似文献

Iron(II) complexes obtained from tetradentate, rigid, linear N4 ligands have been investigated to appraise the influence of steric effects and the impact of trans-coordinated anions on the spin-transition behavior. As expected, the well-designed ligands embrace the metal center, resulting in octahedral iron(II) complexes where the basal plane is fully occupied by the pyridine/pyrazole N4 ligand, while anions or solvent molecules are exclusively axially coordinated. Precursor complexes, namely, [Fe(bpzbpy)(MeOH)2](BF4)2 (where bpzbpy symbolizes the ligand 6,6'-bis(N-pyrazolylmethyl)-2,2'-bipyridine) and [Fe(mbpzbpy)(MeOH)2](BF4)2 (where mbpzbpy symbolizes the ligand 6,6'-bis(3,5-dimethyl-N-pyrazolmethyl)-2,2'-bipyridine), have been used for the in situ preparation of a series of structural analogues via the exchange of the weakly coordinated trans methanol molecules by various anions, such as thiocyanate, selenocyanate, or dicyanamide. The magnetic properties of all seven iron(II) compounds thus obtained have been investigated. Two iron(II) complexes, i.e., [Fe(bpzbpy)(NCS)2] and [Fe(bpzbpy)(NCSe)2], exhibit gradual spin-crossover (SCO) properties typical of isolated mononuclear species with weak cooperative interaction. These two SCO materials have been studied by M?ssbauer spectroscopy, and the light-induced excited spin state trapping effect has been investigated, revealing the possibility to induce the spin-transition both by temperature variation and by light irradiation. A correlation between steric/anion effect and SCO behavior is suggested.  相似文献

The reaction of N,N-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-2-aminoethanol (bpaeOH), NaSCN/NaN(3), and metal (M) ions [M = Mn(II), Fe(II/III), Co(II)] in MeOH, leads to the isolation of a series of monomeric, trimeric, and tetrameric metal complexes, namely [Mn(bpaeOH)(NCS)(2)] (1), [Mn(bpaeO)(N(3))(2)] (2), [Fe(bpaeOH)(NCS)(2)] (3), [Fe(4)(bpaeO)(2)(CH(3)O)(2)(N(3))(8)] (4), [Co(bpaeOH)(NCS)(2)] (5), and [Co(3)(bpaeO)(2)(NO(3))(N(3))(4)](NO(3)) (6). These compounds have been investigated by single crystal X-ray diffractometry and magnetochemistry. In complex 1 the Mn(II) is bonded to one bpaeOH and two thiocyanate ions, while in complex 2 it is coordinated to a deprotonated bpaeO(-) and two azide ions. The oxidation states of manganese ions are 2+ for 1 and 3+ for 2, respectively, indicating that the different oxidation states depend on the type of binding anions. The structures of monomeric iron(II) and cobalt(II) complexes 3 and 5 with two thiocyanate ions are isomorphous to that of 1. Compounds 1, 2, 3, and 5 exhibit high-spin states in the temperature range 5 to 300 K. 4 contains two different iron(III) ions in an asymmetric unit, one is coordinated to a deprotonated bpaeO(-), an azide ion, and a methoxy group, and the other is bonded to three azide ions and two oxygens from bpaeO(-) and a methoxy group. Two independent iron(III) ions in 4 form a tetranuclear complex by symmetry. 4 displays both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic couplings (J = 9.8 and -14.3 cm(-1)) between the iron(III) ions. 6 is a mixed-valence trinuclear cobalt complex, which is formulated as Co(III)(S = 0)-Co(II)(S = 3/2)-Co(III)(S = 0). The effective magnetic moment at room temperature corresponds to the high-spin cobalt(II) ion (~4.27 μ(B)). Interestingly, 6 showed efficient catalytic activities toward various olefins and alcohols with modest to excellent yields, and it has been proposed that a high-valent Co(V)-oxo species might be responsible for oxygen atom transfer in the olefin epoxidation and alcohol oxidation reactions.  相似文献

The reaction of 9,10-phenanthrenequinone (PQ) with [M(II)(H)(CO)(X)(PPh(3))(3)] in boiling toluene leads to the homolytic cleavage of the M(II)-H bond, affording the paramagnetic trans-[M(PQ)(PPh(3))(2)(CO)X] (M = Ru, X = Cl, 1; M = Os, X = Br, 3) and cis-[M(PQ)(PPh(3))(2)(CO)X] (M = Ru, X = Cl, 2; M = Os, X = Br, 4) complexes. Single-crystal X-ray structure determinations of 1, 2·toluene, and 4·CH(2)Cl(2), EPR spectra, and density functional theory (DFT) calculations have substantiated that 1-4 are 9,10-phenanthrenesemiquinone radical (PQ(?-)) complexes of ruthenium(II) and osmium(II) and are defined as trans-[Ru(II)(PQ(?-))(PPh(3))(2)(CO)Cl] (1), cis-[Ru(II)(PQ(?-))(PPh(3))(2)(CO)Cl] (2), trans-[Os(II)(PQ(?-))(PPh(3))(2)(CO) Br] (3), and cis-[Os(II)(PQ(?-))(PPh(3))(2)(CO)Br] (4). Two comparatively longer C-O [average lengths: 1, 1.291(3) ?; 2·toluene, 1.281(5) ?; 4·CH(2)Cl(2), 1.300(8) ?] and shorter C-C lengths [1, 1.418(5) ?; 2·toluene, 1.439(6) ?; 4·CH(2)Cl(2), 1.434(9) ?] of the OO chelates are consistent with the presence of a reduced PQ(?-) ligand in 1-4. A minor contribution of the alternate resonance form, trans- or cis-[M(I)(PQ)(PPh(3))(2)(CO)X], of 1-4 has been predicted by the anisotropic X- and Q-band electron paramagnetic resonance spectra of the frozen glasses of the complexes at 25 K and unrestricted DFT calculations on 1, trans-[Ru(PQ)(PMe(3))(2)(CO)Cl] (5), cis-[Ru(PQ)(PMe(3))(2)(CO)Cl] (6), and cis-[Os(PQ)(PMe(3))(2)(CO)Br] (7). However, no thermodynamic equilibria between [M(II)(PQ(?-))(PPh(3))(2)(CO)X] and [M(I)(PQ)(PPh(3))(2)(CO)X] tautomers have been detected. 1-4 undergo one-electron oxidation at -0.06, -0.05, 0.03, and -0.03 V versus a ferrocenium/ferrocene, Fc(+)/Fc, couple because of the formation of PQ complexes as trans-[Ru(II)(PQ)(PPh(3))(2)(CO)Cl](+) (1(+)), cis-[Ru(II)(PQ)(PPh(3))(2)(CO)Cl](+) (2(+)), trans-[Os(II)(PQ)(PPh(3))(2)(CO)Br](+) (3(+)), and cis-[Os(II)(PQ)(PPh(3))(2)(CO)Br](+) (4(+)). The trans isomers 1 and 3 also undergo one-electron reduction at -1.11 and -0.96 V, forming PQ(2-) complexes trans-[Ru(II)(PQ(2-))(PPh(3))(2)(CO)Cl](-) (1(-)) and trans-[Os(II)(PQ(2-))(PPh(3))(2)(CO)Br](-) (3(-)). Oxidation of 1 by I(2) affords diamagnetic 1(+)I(3)(-) in low yields. Bond parameters of 1(+)I(3)(-) [C-O, 1.256(3) and 1.258(3) ?; C-C, 1.482(3) ?] are consistent with ligand oxidation, yielding a coordinated PQ ligand. Origins of UV-vis/near-IR absorption features of 1-4 and the electrogenerated species have been investigated by spectroelectrochemical measurements and time-dependent DFT calculations on 5, 6, 5(+), and 5(-).  相似文献

We demonstrate the use of a Cu(I) catalyzed "Click" reaction in the synthesis of novel ligands for spin crossover complexes. The reaction between azides and alkynes was used to synthesize the reported tripodal ligand tris[(1-benzyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methyl]amine, TBTA, and the new ligands tris[(1-cyclohexyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methyl]amine, TCTA, and tris[(1-n-butyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methyl]amine, TBuTA. Reactions of TBTA with Co(ClO(4))(2) lead to complexes of the form [Co(TBTA)(CH(3)CN)(3)](ClO(4))(2), 1, and [Co(TBTA)(2)](ClO(4))(2), 2, where complex formation can be controlled by the metal/ligand ratio and the complexes 1 and 2 can be chemically and reversibly switched from one form to another in solution resulting in coordination ambivalence. The benzyl substituents of TBTA in 2 show intramolecular C-H-π T-stacking that generates a chemical pressure to stabilize the low spin (LS) state at lower temperatures. The structural parameters of 2 are consistent with a Jahn-Teller active LS Co(II) (elongation) ion showing four short and two long bonds. 2 shows spin-crossover (SCO) behavior in the solid state and in solution with a high T(0) close to room temperature which is driven by the T-stacking. 1 remains high spin (HS) between 2 and 400 K. Reversible chemical switching is observed between 1 and 2 at room temperature, with an accompanying change in the spin state from HS to LS. The importance of the intramolecular T-stacking in driving the SCO behavior is proven by comparison with two analogous compounds that lack an aromatic substituent and remain HS down to very low temperatures.  相似文献

The electronic structures of complexes of iron containing two S,S'-coordinated benzene-1,2-dithiolate, (L)(2)(-), or 3,5-di-tert-butyl-1,2-benzenedithiolate, (L(Bu))(2)(-), ligands have been elucidated in depth by electronic absorption, infrared, X-band EPR, and Mossbauer spectroscopies. It is conclusively shown that, in contrast to earlier reports, high-valent iron(IV) (d(4), S = 1) is not accessible in this chemistry. Instead, the S,S'-coordinated radical monoanions (L(*))(1)(-) and/or (L(Bu)(*))(1)(-) prevail. Thus, five-coordinate [Fe(L)(2)(PMe(3))] has an electronic structure which is best described as [Fe(III)(L)(L(*))(PMe(3))] where the observed triplet ground state of the molecule is attained via intramolecular, strong antiferromagnetic spin coupling between an intermediate spin ferric ion (S(Fe) = (3)/(2)) and a ligand radical (L(*))(1)(-) (S(rad) = (1)/(2)). The following complexes containing only benzene-1,2-dithiolate(2-) ligands have been synthesized, and their electronic structures have been studied in detail: [NH(C(2)H(5))(3)](2)[Fe(II)(L)(2)] (1), [N(n-Bu)(4)](2)[Fe(III)(2)(L)(4)] (2), [N(n-Bu)(4)](2)[Fe(III)(2)(L(Bu))(4)] (3); [P(CH(3))Ph(3)][Fe(III)(L)(2)(t-Bu-py)] (4) where t-Bu-py is 4-tert-butylpyridine. Complexes containing an Fe(III)(L(*))(L)- or Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))- moiety are [N(n-Bu)(4)][Fe(III)(2)(L(Bu))(3)(L(Bu)(*))] (3(ox)()), [Fe(III)(L)(L(*))(t-Bu-py)] (4(ox)()), [Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))(PMe(3))] (7), [Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))(PMe(3))(2)] (8), and [Fe(III)(L(Bu))(L(Bu)(*))(PPr(3))] (9), where Pr represents the n-propyl substituent. Complexes 2, 3(ox)(), 4, [Fe(III)(L)(L(*))(PMe(3))(2)] (6), and 9 have been structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography.  相似文献

The synthesis and detailed characterization of the new spin crossover mononuclear complex [Fe(II)(DAPP)(abpt)](ClO(4))(2), where DAPP = [bis(3-aminopropyl)(2-pyridylmethyl)amine] and abpt = 4-amino-3,5-bis(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazole, are reported. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements and M?ssbauer spectroscopy have revealed the occurrence of an abrupt spin transition with a hysteresis loop. The hysteresis width derived from magnetic susceptibility measurements is 10 K, the transition being centered at T(c) downward arrow = 171 K for decreasing and T(c) upward arrow = 181 K for increasing temperatures. The crystal structure was resolved in the high-spin (293 and 183 K) and low-spin (123 K) states. Both spin-state structures belong to the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n (Z = 4). The thermal spin transition is accompanied by the shortening of the mean Fe-N distances by 0.177 A. The two main structural characteristics of [Fe(DAPP)(abpt)](ClO(4))(2) are a branched network of intermolecular links in the crystal lattice and the occurrence of two types of order-disorder transitions (in the DAPP ligand and in the perchlorate anions) accompanying the thermal spin change. These features are discussed relative to the magnetic properties of the complex. The electronic structure calculations show that the structural disorder in the DAPP ligand modulates the energy gap between the HS and LS states. In line with previous studies, the order-disorder phenomena and the spin transition in [Fe(DAPP)(abpt)](ClO(4))(2) are found to be interrelated.  相似文献

In order to expand the few known examples of dinuclear iron(II) compounds displaying (weak) intradinuclear exchange coupling and spin-crossover on one or both of the iron(II) centres, various dinuclear compounds have been synthesised and assessed for their spin-crossover and exchange coupling behaviour. The key aim of the work was to prepare and structurally characterise 'weakly linked' and 'covalently bridged' systems incorporating bridging ligands such as alkyldinitriles (e.g.NC(CH(2))(4)CN), bipyrimidine (bpym), dicyanamide (dca(-)), tricyanomethanide (tcm(-)), 3,6-bis(2-pyridyl)tetrazine (bptz) and 3,6-bis(2-pyridyl)2,5-dihydrotetrazine (H(2)bptz). The 'end groups', which complete the Fe(ii)N(6) chromophores, include tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine (tpa), di(2-pyridylethyl)(2-pyridylmethyl)amine (tpa'), 3-(2-pyridyl)pyrazole (pypzH), 1,10-phenanthroline (1,10-phen), tris(pyrazolyl)methane (tpm) and NCX(-)(X = S, Se). It was quite difficult to achieve the spin-crossover condition, many ligand combinations yielding high-spin/high-spin (HS-HS) Fe(II)Fe(II) spin states at all temperatures (300-2 K) with very weak antiferromagnetic coupling (J < -1 cm(-1)), two such being the crystallographically characterised [(dca)(tpm)Fe(mu(1,5)-dca)(2)Fe(tpm)(dca)], 5, and [(tpa')Fe(mu(1,5)-tcm)(2)Fe(tpa')](tcm)(2)(H(2)O)(2), 6. In contrast, a strong field was created around the Fe(II) centres in [(tpa)Fe(mu-(NC(CH(2))(4)CN))(2)Fe(tpa)](ClO(4))(4).NC(CH(2))(4)CN, 1, and the Fe-N bond distances, at 173 K, reflected this. This weakly-linked dinitrile example showed a spin-crossover beginning above 300 K. 'Half crossover' examples, yielding HS-LS states below the spin transition, similar to those noted by Real and coworkers in some mu-bpym systems, were noted for [(1,10-phen)(NCS)(2)Fe(mu-bpym)Fe(NCS)(2)(1,10-phen)], 2, [(pypzH)(NCSe)(2)Fe(mu-bpym)Fe(NCSe)(2)(pypzH)], 4, and [(tpa)Fe(mu-H(2)bptz)Fe(tpa)](ClO(4))(4), 8. Interestingly, the mu-bptz analogue, 7, remained LS-LS at all temperatures with the start of a broad spin crossover evident above 300 K. No thermal hysteresis was evident in the spin transitions of these new dinuclear crossover species indicating a lack of intra- or interdinuclear cooperativity.  相似文献
