The behavior of the methyl radical adduct of six β‐phosphorylated nitrones in the N‐benzylidene‐1‐diethoxyphosphoryl‐1‐methylethylamine N‐oxide series in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) micelles was followed by electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. Except when the highly hydrophilic trap 4‐PyOPN (2) was used, all the adducts were found to partition significantly between micelles and the bulk aqueous phase. The average correlation time τ of the exchange of spin adducts between SDS micelles and water was found to be in the range 5 × 10?8—4 × 10?7 s, which is in the region of the life time of an SDS monomer in the micelle structure. In each case, the adduct affinity for the micelles has been quantified by evaluating its micelle–water distribution coefficient Kd. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The π contribution to the electron localization function (ELF) is used to compare 4nπ‐ and (4n+2)π‐electron annulenes, with particular focus on the aromaticity of 4nπ‐electron annulenes in their lowest triplet state. The analysis is performed on the electron density obtained at the level of OLYP density functional theory, as well as at the CCSD and CASSCF ab initio levels. Two criteria for aromaticity of all‐carbon annulenes are set up: the span in the bifurcation values ΔBV(ELFπ) should be small, ideally zero, and the bifurcation value for ring closure of the π basin RCBV(ELFπ) should be high (≥ 0.7). On the basis of these criteria, nearly all 4nπ‐electron annulenes are aromatic in their lowest triplet states, similar to (4n+2)π‐electron annulenes in their singlet ground states. For singlet biradical cyclobutadiene and cyclooctatetraene constrained to D4h and D8h symmetry, respectively, the RCBV(ELFπ) at the CASSCF level is lower (0.531 and 0.745) than for benzene (0.853), even though they have equal proportions of α‐ and β‐electrons.  相似文献

The polymerization of N‐methyl‐α‐fluoroacrylamide (NMFAm) initiated with dimethyl 2,2′‐azobisisobutyrate (MAIB) in benzene was studied kinetically and with electron spin resonance. The polymerization proceeded heterogeneously with the highly efficient formation of long‐lived poly(NMFAm) radicals. The overall activation energy of the polymerization was 111 kJ/mol. The polymerization rate (Rp) at 50 °C is given by Rp = k[MAIB]0.75±0.05 [NMFAm]0.44±0.05. The concentration of the long‐lived polymer radical increased linearly with time. The formation rate (Rp?) of the long‐lived polymer radical at 50 °C is expressed by Rp? = k[MAIB]1.0±0.1 [NMFAm]0±0.1. The overall activation energy of the long‐lived radical formation was 128 kJ/mol, which agreed with the energy of initiation (129 kJ/mol), which was separately estimated. A comparison of Rp? with the initiation rate led to the conclusion that 1‐methoxycarbonyl‐1‐methylethyl radicals (primary radicals from MAIB), escaping from the solvent cage, were quantitatively converted into the long‐lived poly(NMFAm) radicals. Thus, this polymerization involves completely unimolecular termination due to polymer radical occlusion. 1H NMR‐determined tacticities of resulting poly(NMFAm) were estimated to be rr = 0.34, mr = 0.48, and mm = 0.18. The copolymerization of NMFAm(M1) and St(M2) with MAIB at 50 °C in benzene gave monomer reactivity ratios of r1 = 0.61 and r2 = 1.79. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. There is a contradiction as to the initial spatial separation ri of the two transient 2‐cyanoprop‐2‐yl radicals (Me2 ? CN) formed by flash photolysis of 2,2′‐azobis(isobutyronitrile) (AIBN) in solvents of various viscosities. The cage effect, expressed in terms of the in‐cage termination probability of the resulting radicals, is predicted correctly by classical Langevin models assuming a decrease of ri with increasing viscosity. However, the electron‐spin polarization of the radicals escaping the primary cage clearly indicates that the initial separation distance ri is independent of the solution viscosity. This obvious discrepancy can be reconciled by accounting for the strong electric dipole moments of these radicals and the resulting inter‐radical dipole? dipole interaction potential. We propose a primary‐caging model for polar radicals in solution based on an attractive inter‐radical mean‐force potential. The model is applied to the flash photolysis of AIBN and shown to describe properly the viscosity dependence of both the in‐cage termination probability (cage effect) and the electron‐spin polarization of the escaping 2‐cyanoprop‐2‐yl radicals.  相似文献

Novel Coloring of the α‐Mn Structure Type with Main Group Elements in K5Pb24 – Crystal Structure, Superconductivity, and Structure Property Relationship K5Pb24 was synthesized from the elements in a welded niobium ampoule at 800 °C. The crystal structure was determined from X‐ray single crystal data. Space group I 4 3m, a = 12.358(1) Å, Z = 2, Pearson symbol cI58. The structure of K5Pb24 shows an ordered atomic distribution on the four crystallographic sites of the α‐Mn structure type. The aristotype is decomposed into cluster units consisting of 48 Pb atoms. The structural subunits are built from four 16‐vertex Frank Kasper polyhedra, which consist of 15 Pb and one K atom (K1). The 16‐vertex polyhedra are centered with another K atom (K2). Four such polyhedra share a common corner (K1) and several edges. 18 shared edges form a truncated tetrahedra of twelve Pb atoms. These atoms form together with four K1 atoms (located in the center of the Frank Kasper polyhedra) a Friauf polyhedra. The result is a ‘supratetrahedra‘ of 48 Pb atoms enclosing five K atoms. The body centered arrangement of this units results in a three‐dimensional framework of Pb atoms. The title compound is the lead‐richest phase of the K/Pb system. Superconducting properties are observed from temperature dependent susceptibility measurements. Field dependent measurements reveal a hard type II superconductor. LMTO and EH band structure calculations verify the metallic behavior. An analysis of the density of states with the help of the electron localization function (ELF) shows the presence of lone pairs in this intermetallic phase. The role of lone pairs is discussed with respect to the superconducting property.  相似文献

The selective radical/radical cross‐coupling of two different organic radicals is a great challenge due to the inherent activity of radicals. In this paper, a copper‐catalyzed radical/radical C H/P H cross‐coupling has been developed. It provides a radical/radical cross‐coupling in a selective manner. This work offers a simple way toward β‐ketophosphonates by oxidative coupling of aryl ketone o‐acetyloximes with phosphine oxides using CuCl as catalyst and PCy3 as ligand in dioxane under N2 atmosphere at 130 °C for 5 h, and yields ranging from 47 % to 86 %. The preliminary mechanistic studies by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) showed that, 1) the reduction of ketone o‐acetyloximes generates iminium radicals, which could isomerize to α‐sp3‐carbon radical species; 2) phosphorus radicals were generated from the oxidation of phosphine oxides. Various aryl ketone o‐acetyloximes and phosphine oxides were suitable for this transformation.  相似文献

A Ph3P‐catalyzed cyclization of α‐halogeno ketones 2 with dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates (=dialkyl but‐2‐ynedioates) 3 produced halogenated α,β‐unsaturated γ‐butyrolactone derivatives 4 in good yields (Scheme 1, Table). The presence of electron‐withdrawing groups such as halogen atoms at the α‐position of the ketones was necessary in this reaction. Cyclization of α‐chloro ketones resulted in higher yields than that of the corresponding α‐bromo ketones. Dihalogeno ketones similarly afforded the expected γ‐butyrolactone derivatives in high yields.  相似文献

The influence of a coordinated π‐radical on the spin crossover properties of an octahedral iron(II) complex was investigated by preparing and isolating the iron(II) complex containing the tetradentate N,N′‐dimethyl‐2,11‐diaza[3.3](2,6)pyridinophane and the radical anion of N,N′‐diphenyl‐acenaphtene‐1,2‐diimine as ligands. This spin crossover complex was obtained by a reduction of the corresponding low‐spin iron(II) complex with the neutral diimine ligand, demonstrating that the reduction of the strong π‐acceptor ligand is accompanied by a decrease in the ligand field strength. Characterization of the iron(II) radical complex by structural, magnetochemical, and spectroscopic methods revealed that spin crossover equilibrium occurs above 240 K between an S=1/2 ground state and an S=3/2 excited spin state. The possible origins of the fast spin interconversion observed for this complex are discussed.  相似文献

This work addresses the decomposition of the Electron Localization Function (ELF) into partial density contributions using an appealing split of kinetic energy densities. Regarding the degree of the electron localization, the relationship between ELF and its usual spin‐polarized formula is discussed. A new polarized ELF formula, built from any subsystems of the density, and a localization function, quantifying the measure of electron localization for only a subpart of the total system are introduced. The methodology appears tailored to describe the electron localization in bonding patterns of subsystems, such as the local nucleophilic character. Beyond these striking examples, this work opens up opportunities to describe any electronic properties that depend only on subparts of the density in atoms, molecules, or solids. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

The ground‐state electronic structure of peroxynitrous acid (HOONO) and its singlet biradicaloid form (HO ··· ONO) have been studied using topological analysis of the electron localization function (ELF), together with the electron localizability indicator (ELI‐D), at the DFT (B3LYP, M05, M052X, and M06), CCSD, and CASSCF levels. Three isomers of HOONO (cis‐cis, cis‐perp, and trans‐perp) have been considered. The results show that from all functionals applied, only B3LYP yields the correct geometrical structure. The ELF and ELI‐D‐topology of the O? O and central N? O bonds strongly depends on the wave function used for analysis. Calculations carried out at CAS (14,12)/aug‐cc‐pVTZ//CCSD(T)/aug‐cc‐pVTZ level reveal two bonds of the charge‐shift type: a protocovalent N? O bond with a basin population of 0.82–1.08e, and a more electron depleted O? O bond with a population of 0.66–0.71e. The most favorable dissociation channel (HOONO → HO + ONO) corresponds to breaking of the most electron‐deficient bond (O? O). In the case of cis‐ and trans‐HO ··· ONO, the ELF, ELI‐D, and electron density fields results demonstrate a closed‐shell O ··· O interaction. The α‐spin electrons are found mainly (0.64e) in the lone pairs of oxygen Vi = 1,2 (O) from the OH group. The β‐spin electrons are delocalized over the ONO group, with the largest concentration (0.34e) on the lone pair of nitrogen V(N). © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Comput Chem, 2011  相似文献

The topological analysis of the electron localization function ELF has been carried out on five‐membered (C4H4NH, C4H4PH, C4H4O, C4H4S) and six‐membered (C5H5N, C5H5P) heterocycles. The bonding in these molecules is discussed on the basis of the valence basin populations. It is shown that the values of the ELF function at the (3,−1) critical points between disynaptic basins related to a given center provide a criterion to determine substitutional sites. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Aldol‐type reaction between electron deficient aldehydes and sulfonium salts to afford the corresponding β‐hydroxy α‐sulfanyl esters in moderate‐to‐good yields by using nanocrystalline MgO is described. The sulfanyl group is a useful group for further transformations in organic synthesis. Low Rfvalue isomer is anti‐configured as revealed by X‐ray diffraction study and consistent with the assignment of 1H‐NMR spectrum.  相似文献

A type of surface imprinting over magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles utilizing erythromycin‐A as a template for use in the separation and recovery of erythromycin was developed and investigated. As the intermolecular forces play a key role in the performance of imprinted materials, differential scanning calorimetry, and 1H NMR spectroscopy was employed to evaluate the interactions between erythromycin and the functional monomer β‐cyclodextrin. To synthesize the surface imprinted polymers, magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles, the core materials, were modified with a free radical initiator to initialize polymerization in a “grafting from” manner. Then using acryloyl‐modified β‐cyclodextrin as the functional monomer and ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate as the cross‐linker, thin erythromycin‐imprinted films were fabricated by the radical‐induced graft copolymerization of monomers on the surface of the Fe3O4 nanoparticles. Selectivity experiments showed that the erythromycin‐A‐imprinted materials had recognition ability toward erythromycin derivatives. Finally, these magnetic molecularly imprinted particles were successfully used for the separation and enrichment of erythromycin from the mother liquor. The recovery, detected by high‐performance liquid chromatography and differential pulse voltammetry, approached 97%. The combination of the specific selectivity of the imprinted material and the magnetic separation provided a powerful tool that is simple, flexible, and selective for the separation and recovery of erythromycin.  相似文献

β‐Methyl‐α‐methylene‐γ‐butyrolactone (MMBL) was synthesized and then was polymerized in an N,N‐dimethylformamide (DMF) solution with 2,2‐azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) initiation. The homopolymer of MMBL was soluble in DMF and acetonitrile. MMBL was homopolymerized without competing depolymerization from 50 to 70 °C. The rate of polymerization (Rp) for MMBL followed the kinetic expression Rp = [AIBN]0.54[MMBL]1.04. The overall activation energy was calculated to be 86.9 kJ/mol, kp/kt1/2 was equal to 0.050 (where kp is the rate constant for propagation and kt is the rate constant for termination), and the rate of initiation was 2.17 × 10?8 mol L?1 s?1. The free energy of activation, the activation enthalpy, and the activation entropy were 106.0, 84.1, and 0.0658 kJ mol?1, respectively, for homopolymerization. The initiation efficiency was approximately 1. Styrene and MMBL were copolymerized in DMF solutions at 60 °C with AIBN as the initiator. The reactivity ratios (r1 = 0.22 and r2 = 0.73) for this copolymerization were calculated with the Kelen–Tudos method. The general reactivity parameter Q and the polarity parameter e for MMBL were calculated to be 1.54 and 0.55, respectively. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We present ab initio methods to determine the Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya (DM) parameter, which provides the anisotropic effects of noncollinear spin systems. For this purpose, we explore various general spin orbital (GSO) approaches, such as Hartree–Fock (HF), density functional theory (DFT), and configuration interaction (CI), with one‐electron spin–orbit coupling (SOC1). As examples, two simple D3h‐symmetric models, H3 and B(CH2)3, are examined. Implications of the computational results are discussed in relation to as isotropic and anisotropic interactions of molecular‐based magnets. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of chalcone ligands and their corresponding vanadyl complexes of composition [VO (LI–IV)2(H2O)2]SO4 (where LI = 1,3‐Diphenylprop‐2‐en‐1‐one, LII = 3‐(2‐Hydroxy‐phenyl)‐1‐phenyl‐propenone, LIII = 3‐(3‐Nitro‐phenyl)‐1‐phenyl‐propenone, LIV = 3‐(4‐Methoxy‐phenyl)‐1‐phenyl‐propenone) have been synthesized and characterized using various spectroscopic (Fourier‐transform infrared, electrospray ionization mass, nuclear magnetic resonance, electron paramagnetic resonance, thermogravimetric analysis, vibrating sample magnetometer) and physico‐analytic techniques. Antidiabetic activities of synthesized complexes along with chalcones were evaluated by performing in vitro and in silico α‐amylase and α‐glucosidase inhibition studies. The obtained results displayed moderate to significant inhibition activity against both the enzymes by vanadyl chalcone complexes. The most potent complexes were further investigated for the enzyme kinetic studies and displayed the mixed inhibition for both the enzymes. Further, antioxidant activity of vanadyl chalcone complexes was evaluated for their efficiency to release oxidative stress using 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picryl‐hydrazyl‐hydrate assay, and two complexes (Complexes 2 and 4 ) have demonstrated remarkable antioxidant activity. All the complexes were found to possess promising antidiabetic and antioxidant potential.  相似文献

Single‐phase polycrystalline samples of the intermetallic compound β‐YbAgGa2 were synthesized by inductive heating and subsequent annealing for eight weeks at 670 K. Magnetic properties were characterized by susceptibility measurements and indicated intermediate valence of ytterbium at ambient pressure. Angle‐dispersive X‐ray powder diffraction data of orthorhombic β‐YbAgGa2 indicate stability of the phase in the investigated pressure range from 0.1 MPa (ambient pressure) to 19 GPa. The pressure‐induced volume decrease is accompanied by an increase of the effective valence from 2.17 at ambient conditions to 2.71 at 16 GPa as evaluated by X‐ray absorption spectroscopy at the Yb LIII threshold. Analysis of the chemical bonding in β‐YbAgGa2 by integrating the electron density of the polyanion in basins as defined by the electron localization function results in an electron count Yb2.7+[(Ag0.2—)(Ga1(3b)1.0—)(Ga2(4b)1.5—)]. This finding is close to the expected values calculated by means of the Zintl rules and fits well the results of magnetic susceptibility measurements and XAS investigations.  相似文献

The structures and relative stabilities of high‐spin n+1Aun?1Ag and nAun?1Ag+ (n = 2–8) clusters have been studied with density functional calculation. We predicted the existence of a number of previously unknown isomers. Our results revealed that all structures of high‐spin neutral or cationic Aun?1Ag clusters can be understood as a substitution of an Au atom by an Ag atom in the high‐spin neutral or cationic Aun clusters. The properties of mixed gold–silver clusters are strongly sized and structural dependence. The high‐spin bimetallic clusters tend to be holding three‐dimensional geometry rather than planar form represented in their low‐spin situations. Silver atom prefers to occupy those peripheral positions until to n = 8 for high‐spin clusters, which is different from its position occupied by light atom in the low‐spin situations. Our theoretical calculations indicated that in various high‐spin Aun?1Ag neutral and cationic species, 5Au3Ag, 3AuAg and 5Au4Ag+ hold high stability, which can be explained by valence bond theory. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
