This work describes the analysis of a pyrolysis product of a lignite sample obtained from the Turkish Goynuk reserve. The aliphatic, aromatic and polar compounds present in the tar are separated and identified by various chromatographic techniques: Capillary gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS), on-line high performance microbore liquid chromatography/capillary gas chromatography (LC/GC) and capillary supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC). The suitability of each technique for this particular application is discussed, and semi-quantitative results are presented for the major components detected.  相似文献

A comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC x GC) instrument has been created by coupling a flow-switching modulator and a standard gas chromatograph. The instrument was used to characterize the aromatic composition of gasoline. The high-resolution separation produced by flow-switching GC x GC allowed gasoline aromatics to be fully resolved from saturated components. The aromatic compounds were further separated into groups having the same carbon number. A standard gasoline sample was analyzed to evaluate the quantitative accuracy and precision of this technique. The data show that flow-switching GC x GC produces results that are comparable to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and thermal modulation GC x GC. The simple, low-cost, and robust nature of flow-switching GC x GC makes it an ideal technique for the routine analysis of aromatic compounds in gasoline.  相似文献

Summary Deuterated alkyl benzenes, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and N-, S-, O-, and Cl-containing aromatics were prepared using a single reagent containing D2O, DCl, and chromium. The method requires little specialized equipment or synthesis expertise, and results in the exchange of all aromatic protons for deuterium. The isotopic purities of the deuterated products were controlled by the amount of reagent added, and in most cases, isotopic purities of 95% were achieved. Under appropriate conditions of temperature and time, no significant chemical degradation of the aromatic compounds occurred. The method also works well with complex mixtures and large (30 g) quantities of aromatic compounds as demonstrated by the deuteration of a mixture of polychlorinated biphenyls (Aroclor 1254) and a coal-derived anthracene oil.

Summary Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) today are ubiquitous detectable constituents of recent sediments. The compounds are adsorbed on particulate emissions and are thus transferred to the environment. To date the analysis of PAH in sediments, dust samples and plant material is based mainly on the application of solvent-extraction methods followed by liquid chromatography and/or gas chromatographic separation of the extracts.An alternative approach for the analysis of PAH in solid samples such as coal, sediments, dust samples and plant waxes is shown in this contribution. A commercially available device for the analysis of volatile compounds present in solid matter is connected on-line to a GC/MS system. The device enables the thermal desorption of hydrocarbons at a temperature of 320°C. Subsequently, the hydrocarbons trapped on the initial part of the capillary column are analyzed by GC/MS. The application of mass chromatography provides the possibility of detection and quantitation of PAH in complex mixtures even when they coelute with other compounds. The sample amount required varies between 1 and 10 mg depending on the hydrocarbon content.  相似文献

Site-specific carbon isotope composition of organic compounds can provide useful information on their origin and history in natural environments. Site-specific isotope analyses of small amounts of organic compounds (sub-nanomolar level), such as short-chain carboxylic acids and amino acid analogues, have been performed using gas chromatography/pyrolysis/isotope ratio mass spectrometry (GC/pyrolysis/IRMS). These analyses were previously limited to volatile compounds. In this study, site-specific carbon isotope analysis has been developed for non-volatile aromatic carboxylic acids at sub-micromolar level by decarboxylation using a continuous flow elemental analysis (EA)/pyrolysis/IRMS technique. Benzoic acid, 2-naphthylacetic acid and 1-pyrenecarboxylic acid were pyrolyzed at 500-1000 degrees C by EA/pyrolysis/IRMS to produce CO2 for delta13C measurement of the carboxyl group. These three aromatic acids were most efficiently pyrolyzed at 750 degrees C. Conventional sealed-tube pyrolysis was also conducted for comparison. The delta13C values of CO2 generated by the continuous flow technique were within 1.0 per thousand of those performed by the conventional technique, indicating that the new continuous flow technique can accurately analyze the carbon isotopic composition of the carboxyl group in aromatic carboxylic acids. The new continuous flow technique is simple, rapid and uses small sample sizes, so this technique will be useful for characterizing the isotopic signature of carboxyl groups in organic compounds.  相似文献

Sixteen sulfonated and unsulfonated azo dyes as well as eleven sulfonated and unsulfonated aromatic amines were analyzed and qualitatively characterized by means of pyrolysis gas chromatography/mass spectrometry at different temperatures. Aniline and aminonaphthalene were found to be the dominant pyrolysis products of sulfonated aromatic amines and dyes. Azo dye and dye class specific key compounds such as benzidine, vinyl-p-base and 4-aminoazobenzene could be identified by pyrolysis gas chromatography/mass spectrometry of commercial acid, cationic, direct, reactive and solvent dyes. 500 degrees C was the optimal pyrolysis temperature for most of the pyrolyzed compounds. The method was applied to a dried sample of a textile wastewater concentrate from a dyeing process. Reactive azo dyes of the group of Remazol dyes and anthraquinone dyes could be identified as the major compounds of the sample. The finding of caprolactam (a printing additive) suggests that the wastewater contained effluent from a process of heat-activated printing with reactive dyes. p-Chloraniline, a banned aromatic amine, was identified. Chemical reduction of the wastewater sample prior to pyrolysis resulted in the release of volatile aromatic amines and aided the classification of several products of pyrolysis.  相似文献

Four groups of isomeric polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) were examined by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) using positive-ion chemical ionization and negative-ion chemical ionization with a variety of reagent gases in order to evaluate the utility of each; differentiation of isomers was the ultimate goal. Hydrogen positive-ion chemical ionization (PICI) yielded different spectra for all but one isomer pair while retaining sensitivity comparable to electron-impact mass spectrometry. Several experimental conditions in the negative-ion mode afforded distinctly different spectra for isomeric PAH, but often sensitivities were reduced. The thirteen model compounds divided approximately into three classes according to the types and extent of reactions of the molecular anion. Class 1 gave as good sensitivity as hydrogen PICI; class 2 gave isomer-dependent spectra, but reduced sensitivity; class 3 gave no isomer differentiation, but greatly enhanced sensitivity.  相似文献

Comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC×GC) has been applied to the quantitative analysis of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX), and all heavier aromatic compounds in gasoline. The two-dimensional chromatographic separation used volatility selection on the first-dimension column and polarity selection on the second-dimension column. In the resulting GC×GC chromatogram, aromatic species were resolved from other compound classes. Moreover, structurally related aromatics were grouped in a manner that facilitated identification and integration. The response of a flame ionization detector to each major aromatic group in gasoline was calibrated using internal standards. Quantitation produced results directly comparable with ASTM standard methods. The present GC×GC method can be expanded to analyze other gasoline components.  相似文献

采用全二维气相色谱-质谱联用仪(GC×GC-MS),通过优化程序升温和调制周期,建立了喷气燃料裂解产物中芳烃的定性定量分析方法。该方法对多环芳烃(PAH)同分异构体具有良好的分离能力。利用MS检测器谱库检索结果、芳烃标准品及相关的文献报道,对喷气燃料裂解产物中常见的单环芳烃、二环芳烃、三环芳烃及四环芳烃等共27种芳烃进行了准确定性,并利用外标GC×GC-FID法对其进行定量。定量结果表明,芳烃含量均随着裂解产气率的增加而增大,当裂解产气率达到22%时,二环芳烃开始产生,且其含量随着裂解产气率的增加呈指数形式增加。该方法与传统的气相色谱-质谱相比,具有更好的分离及定性能力,可应用于复杂样品的分离及其定性定量分析。  相似文献

The unique characteristics of a bonded-fluoroalkylsilane column, Fluofix, are described by comparison with those of a bonded octylsilane column, C8, in the reversed-phase chromatography of aromatic hydrocarbons. The selectivity of homologous aromatics on the fluorinated column varied with the methanol concentration in the eluent. At a larger proportion of methanol than 80:20 (v/v) the larger aromatics eluted faster than the smaller ones. However, with less methanol, the aromatics were eluted in order of their molecular size, as usually reported for a conventional hydrocarbonaceous column. A dependence of the retention mechanism on the composition of the eluent was suggested by the decrease in the entropy-enthalpy compensation temperature, beta, with increase of methanol concentration in the eluent. In order to explain the concentration dependence of the retention, the molecular interaction energy in the retention process was calculated by computer simulation. The interaction energy between aromatics and the stationary ligand on the Fluofix column was smaller than that on the C8 column and comparable to the interaction energy between the aromatics and methanol. At higher methanol concentrations, solute-fluorinated ligand complex formation was obstructed by the methanol molecules solvating the solute, reducing the retention of the larger aromatics.  相似文献

建立石墨化碳(GCB)为吸附剂的动态采样系统,可实现液化石油气(LPG)中芳烃杂质的采样和同步萃取富集。LPG中的芳烃杂质(苯、甲苯、二甲苯、苯乙烯和萘)被快速捕集后,进行气相色谱-质谱(GC-MS)定性定量分析。与C18和苯乙烯二乙烯苯吸附剂(PS-DVB)相比,GCB填充柱对芳烃杂质的萃取效率最高。评价了基于GCB填充柱采样的吸附效率、重现性和贮存稳定性。采样和分析方法对氮气模拟气流中8种芳烃的定量分析线性范围为15~1 000μg/m~3。所开发的方法具有回收率高(92.9%~109.0%)、检出限低(1.0~6.2μg/m~3)、准确性好(相对标准偏差为0.6%~5.8%)和准确度高(标准偏差为0.8%~8.2%)等优点。  相似文献

The effects of four aromatic compounds on alkyl chain conformational order for a series of high-density docosylsilane (C22) stationary phases with surface coverage ranging from 3.61 to 6.97 micromol/m2 are investigated using Raman spectroscopy. Aromatic compounds studied include benzene-d6, toluene-d8, aniline-d7 and anisole-d8. In general, these aromatic solvents decrease the conformational order of the C22 phases relative to air suggesting partitioning of the aromatics into the alkyl chains of these stationary phases. Changes in alkyl chain conformational order are linearly dependent on the solvent hydrophobicity parameter, log K ow, and are also dependent on stationary phase properties (i.e. polymerization method and surface coverage). A comparison is made between C22 and C18 bonded phase systems. The conformational order of the alkyl chains in a mixed solute/mobile phase system is also studied using 80% methanol/water as the mobile phase and aniline-d7, anisole-d8 or toluene-d8 as solutes. Collectively, the Raman spectroscopic evidence at the molecular level suggests interaction of these aromatic species with the bonded alkyl chains through partitioning.  相似文献

An analytical method was developed for the quantitation of the mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons in cosmetic raw materials separating those of one or two aromatic rings from those of three and more aromatic rings. Normal phase high performance liquid chromatography was used with donor‐acceptor complex chromatography. The composition of both fractions and the quantities of respective compounds were determined by comprehensive two dimensional gas chromatography with time of flight mass spectrometry and by liquid chromatography coupled to gas chromatography with flame ionization detection.  相似文献

Gas chromatography (GC), low-voltage mass spectrometry (LV MS), and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) have been used for detecting polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) of molecular weight between 300 and 402 in airborne particulate matter. Nearly 200 high molecular PAH separated by fused silica capillary columns could be characterized by their El mass spectra. Conversion of pure methane and natural gas with different methane purity to aromatic hydrocarbons at. 773 and 873 K have been investigated. Conversion of methane to aromatics under non-oxidizing conditions can be initiated by higher hydrocarbon mixtures in the feed and, some special coke deposited on Mo/HZSM-5 catalyst at lower reaction temperature. Methane conversion of about 10–20% is obtained at 773 K. The possible reaction mechanism and product phase transformation process for conversion of pure methane and natural gas at lower temperature are proposed. The thermodynamic limitation for methane conversion under non-oxidizing conditions may be circumvented.  相似文献

Pyrolysis—gas chromatography—mass spectrometry of perhydrophenanthrene, perhydroanthracene and 9,10-dihydrophenanthrene was carried out between 700 and 1000°C in order to study their conversion into light aromatics. The results show that the total hydrogenation of the rings has a great influence on the yields of monoaromatics, obtained by cleavage of the rings and recombination of the fragments. The partially hydrogenated compounds undergo a dehydrogenation reaction, leading back to the stable polycyclic aromatic.  相似文献

A new apparatus to measure solubility data of aromatics in aqueous solutions has been designed. It is based on a static-analytic method with Rolsi™ pneumatic samplers for on line gas chromatograph analysis. Operating pressures and temperatures are between 0.3 and 10 MPa and between 293 and 393 K.

Solubility measurement results are reported for several aromatic compounds (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene) in different amine aqueous solutions (monoethanolamine (MEA), diethanolamine (DEA), methyldiethanolamine (MDEA), diglycolamine (DGA)). Several influent parameters are studied (temperature, total pressure, etc.).  相似文献
