This paper presents results of an ongoing investigation into modelling fluidized dense-phase pneumatic conveying of powders. For the reliable design of dense-phase pneumatic conveying systems, an accurate estimation of the blockage boundary condition or the minimum transport velocity requirement is of sig- nificant importance. The existing empirical models for fine powder conveying in fluidized dense-phase mode are either based on only a particular pipeline and product or have not been tested for their accuracy under a wide range of scale-up conditions. In this paper, a validated test design procedure has been devel- oped to accurately scale-up the blockage boundary with the help of a modelling format that employs solids loading ratio and Froude number at pipe inlet conditions using conveying data of two different samples of fly ash, electro-static precipitation (ESP) dust and cement (particle densities: 2197-3637 kgJm3; loose poured bulk densities: 634-1070kg/m3; median size: 7-30 l~m). The developed models (in power func- tion format) have been used to predict the blockage boundary for larger diameter and longer pipelines (e.g. models based on 69 mm I.D. ~ 168 m long pipe have been scaled up to 105 mm I.D. and 554 m length). The predicted blockage boundaries for the scale-up conditions were found to provide better accuracy compared to the existing models.  相似文献

This work presents the results of a one-dimensional experimental investigation of contaminant transport in heterogeneous porous media. The usual transport equations fail to adequately predict dispersion in such systems, and new theories to account for the distinctions have not yet been examined experimentally. We use a one-dimensional porous media which is heterogeneous on the scale of observation to determine if the phenomena predicted by the new theories are observable.The experimental media are constructed from distinct layers of spherical glass beads packed into cylindrical columns of Lucite. Flow was in the direction perpendicular to the layers. Dispersion was measured by recording the concentration of a chloride tracer as a function of time and position. The scale of measurement was finer than the scale of the heterogeneity. The results show that the mixing between miscible fluids was affected by transitions in the system parameters, before the transitions were encountered by the mixing zone. This newly observed phenomenon has been interpreted as a nonlocal effect, and it begins to verify the new predictive theories.  相似文献

The lattice gas automaton (LGA) model proposed in the previous paper is applied to the problem of simulating dispersion and mixing in heterogeneous porous media. A mixture theory is developed for multi-component micropolar porous media with a combination of the hybrid mixture theory and the micropolar continuum theory. The system is modeled as multi-component micropolar elastic solids saturated with multi- component micropolar viscous fluids. Balance equations are given through the mixture theory. Constitutive equations are developed based on the second law of thermodynamics and constitutive assumptions. Taking account of compressibility of solid phases, the volume fraction of fluid as an independent state variable is introduced in the free energy function, and the dynamic compatibility condition is obtained to restrict the change of pressure difference on the solid-fluid interface. The constructed constitutive equations are used to close the field equations. The linear field equations are obtained using a linearization procedure, and the micropolar thermo-hydro-mechanical component transport model is established. This model can be applied to practical problems, such as contaminant, drug, and pesticide transport. When the proposed model is supposed to be porous media, and both fluid and solid are single-component, it will almost agree with Eringen's model.  相似文献

本文研究球对称弥散问题,模型中考虑了孔隙介质的微结构特征。这种微结构起着广义的吸附作用,在溶质的输运过程中有滞后效应。文中考虑了五种微结构模型,它们是均衡吸附模型,一阶线性动力吸附模型、板状、柱状和球粒结构模型。分别求得Laplace空间的解析解,用Stehfest的数值反演技术获得各种模型的溶质浓度分布,并对有关的影响因素进行了量值考查,对认识微结构模型的特性有帮助,可以作为地层排污、特殊条件下的石油开采及溶滤萃矿等工程设计的理论依据。  相似文献

The lattice‐Boltzmann (LB) method, derived from lattice gas automata, is a relatively new technique for studying transport problems. The LB method is investigated for its accuracy to study fluid dynamics and dispersion problems. Two problems of relevance to flow and dispersion in porous media are addressed: (i) Poiseuille flow between parallel plates (which is analogous to flow in pore throats in two‐dimensional porous networks), and (ii) flow through an expansion–contraction geometry (which is analogous to flow in pore bodies in two‐dimensional porous networks). The results obtained from the LB simulations are compared with analytical solutions when available, and with solutions obtained from a finite element code (FIDAP) when analytical results are not available. Excellent agreement is found between the LB results and the analytical/FIDAP solutions in most cases, indicating the utility of the lattice‐Boltzmann method for solving fluid dynamics and dispersion problems. Randomness in the source condition other than the heterogeneity in the system parameters can also be a major source of uncertainty in the concentration field. Hence, a more general form of the problem formulation is necessary to consider randomness in both source condition and system parameters. When the source varies with time, the unsteady problem, can be solved using the unit response function. In the case of random system parameters, the response function becomes a random function and depends on the randomness in the system parameters. In the present study, the source is modelled as a random discrete process with either a fixed interval or a random interval (the Poisson process). In this study, an attempt is made to assess the relative effects of various types of source uncertainties on the probabilistic behaviour of the concentration in a porous medium while the system parameters are also modelled as random fields. Analytical expressions of mean and covariance of concentration due to random discrete source are derived in terms of mean and covariance of unit response function. The probabilistic behaviour of the random response function is obtained by using a perturbation‐based stochastic finite element method (SFEM), which performs well for mild heterogeneity. The proposed method is applied for analysing both the 1‐D as well as the 3‐D solute transport problems. The results obtained with SFEM are compared with the Monte Carlo simulation for 1‐D problems. 在无源汇条件下,根据流过某一个横截面的流体流量等于流过这一横截面内所有精细网格的流体流量之和这一特点提出了粗化网格等效渗透率的计算方法。在粗化区内,利用直接解法求解二维渗流方程,再用这些解合成粗化网格的三维合成解,并由合成解计算粗化网格的等效渗透率。根据精度的要求采用了不均匀网格粗化,在流体流速大的区域采用精细网格。利用所得等效渗透率计算了粗化网格的某三维非均匀不稳定渗流场的压降解,结果表明三维非均匀不稳定渗流方程的二维不均匀粗化解非常逼近采用精细网格的解,但计算的速度比采用精细网格提高了80倍。  相似文献

An elastic fluid-saturated porous medium is modeled as a bundle of parallel cylindrical tubes aligned in a direction parallel to the fluid movement. The pore space is filled with viscous compressible liquid. A cell model and the theory of transient pipe flow are used to derive one-dimensional governing equations in such media. All macroscopic constants in these equations are defined by the individual material constants of the fluid and solid. The interaction force includes an additional term not found in Biot's theory.  相似文献

The thermodynamical relations for a two-phase, N-constituent, swelling porous medium are derived using a hybridization of averaging and the mixture-theoretic approach of Bowen. Examples of such media include 2-1 lattice clays and lyophilic polymers. A novel, scalar definition for the macroscale chemical potential for porous media is introduced, and it is shown how the properties of this chemical potential can be derived by slightly expanding the usual Coleman and Noll approach for exploiting the entropy inequality to obtain near-equilibrium results. The relationship between this novel scalar chemical potential and the tensorial chemical potential of Bowen is discussed. The tensorial chemical potential may be discontinuous between the solid and fluid phases at equilibrium; a result in clear contrast to Gibbsian theories. It is shown that the macroscopic scalar chemical potential is completely analogous with the Gibbsian chemical potential. The relation between the two potentials is illustrated in three examples.  相似文献

A simple theoretical model is described for deriving a 1-dimensional equation for the spreading of a tracer in a steady flow at the field scale. The originality of the model is to use a stochastic appoach not in the 3-dimensional space but in the 1-D space of the stream tubes. The simplicity of calculation comes from the local relationship between permeability and velocity in a 1-D flow. The spreading of a tracer front is due to local variations in the cross-sectional area of the stream tubes, which induces randomness in travel time. The derived transport equation is averaged in the main flow direction. It differs from the standard dispersion equation. The roles of time and space variables are exchanged. This result can be explained by using the statistical theory of Continuous Time Random Walk instead of a standard Random Walk. However, the two equations are very close, since their solutions have the same first and second moments. 研究了流体饱和不可压黏弹性多孔介质中的非均匀平面波及其能量流和能量耗散规律. 在流 相和固相物质微观不可压、固相骨架宏观服从积分型本构关系和小变形的假定下,利用 Helmholtz分解,得到了饱和黏弹性多孔介质中非均匀平面波的一般解以及纵波、横波相速 度和衰减率等的解析表达式,分析了平面波传播矢量和衰减矢量之间的关系. 数值结果表明 孔隙流体与固相骨架间的相互作用以及固相骨架的黏性对波的相速度、衰减率等有着显著的 影响. 同时,得到了饱和黏弹性多孔介质的能量方程,给出了能量流矢量和能量耗散率. 对 非均匀平面纵波和横波,推导了平均能量流矢量和平均能量耗散率的解析表达式.  相似文献

This paper discusses scaling of mixing during miscible flow in heterogeneous porous media. In large field systems dispersivity appears to depend on system length due to heterogeneities. Three types of scaling are discussed to investigate the heterogeneous effects. Dimensional analysis of mixing during flow through geometerically scaled heterogeneous models is illustrated using measured dispersion. Fractal analysis of mixing in statistically scaled heterogeneous porous media is discussed. 川藏公路由于地质环境复杂、建设标准低、后遗病害多,抗灾能力差,泥石流、滑坡、山崩、雪害、水毁等自然灾害频繁发生,公路阻车断道严重。国家投入巨资进行整治改建,并取得了明显的效果,但由于自然环境特殊、影响因素复杂,许多特大型、大型工程地质病害问题还没有可行、可靠的解决方案。本文通过分析川藏公路沿线的地质环境和灾害特点,总结历年整治改建和经验的教训,提出川藏公路建设的途径、可能达到的目标和应采用的原则。  相似文献

The truncation error associated with different numerical schemes (first order finite volume, second order finite difference, control volume finite element) and meshes (fixed Cartesian, fixed structured triangular, fixed unstructured triangular and dynamically adapting unstructured triangular) is quantified in terms of apparent longitudinal and transverse diffusivity in tracer displacements and in terms of the early time growth rate of immiscible viscous fingers. The change in apparent numerical longitudinal diffusivity with element size agrees well with the predictions of Taylor series analysis of truncation error but the apparent, numerical transverse diffusivity is much lower than the longitudinal diffusivity in all cases. Truncation error reduces the growth rate of immiscible viscous fingers for wavenumbers greater than 1 in all cases but does not affect the growth rate of higher wavenumber fingers as much as would be seen if capillary pressure were present. The dynamically adapting mesh in the control volume finite element model gave similar levels of truncation error to much more computationally intensive fine resolution fixed meshes, confirming that these approaches have the potential to significantly reduce the computational effort required to model viscous fingering.  相似文献

Nonlinear fluid flow laws for orthotropic porous media are written in invariant tensor form. As usual in the theory of fluid flow through porous media [1, 2], the equations contain the flow velocity up to the second power. Expressions that determine the nonlinear resistances to fluid flow are presented and it is shown that, on going over from linear to nonlinear flow laws, the asymmetry effect may manifest itself, that is, the fluid flow characteristics may differ along the same straight line in the positive and negative directions. It is shown that, as compared with the linear fluid flow law for orthotropic media when for three symmetry groups a single flow law is sufficient, in nonlinear laws the anisotropy manifestations are much more variable and each symmetry group must be described by specific equations. A system of laboratory measurements for finding the nonlinear flow characteristics for orthotropic porous media is considered.  相似文献

Static electromagnetic fields are studied based on standard spaces of the physical presentation, and the modal equations of static electromagnetic fields for anisotropic media are derived. By introducing a new set of first-order potential functions, several novel theoretical results are obtained. It is found that, for isotropic media, electric or magnetic potentials are scalar; while for anisotropic media, they are vectors. Magnitude and direction of the vector potentials are related to the anisotropic subspaces. Based on these results, we discuss the laws of static electromagnetic fields for anisotropic media.  相似文献
