Let p ∈ {1, ∞}. We show that any continuous linear operator T from A1 (a) to Ap (b) is tame, i.e., there exists a positive integer c such that sup x||Tx||k/|x|ck ∞ for every k ∈ N. Next we prove that a similar result holds for operators from A∞(a) to Ap(b) if and only if the set Mb,a of all finite limit points of the double sequence (bi /aj ) i,j∈N is bounded. Finally we show that the range of every tame operator from A∞(a) to A∞(b) has a Schauder basis.  相似文献

We prove that for no nontrivial ordered abelian group does the ordered power series field admit an exponential, i.e. an isomorphism between its ordered additive group and its ordered multiplicative group of positive elements, but that there is a non-surjective logarithm. For an arbitrary ordered field , no exponential on is compatible, that is, induces an exponential on through the residue map. This is proved by showing that certain functional equations for lexicographic powers of ordered sets are not solvable.

An irrational power series over a finite field of characteristic p is called hyperquadratic if it satisfies an algebraic equation of the form x=(Axr+B)/(Cxr+D), where r is a power of p and the coefficients belong to . These algebraic power series are analogues of quadratic real numbers. This analogy makes their continued fraction expansions specific as in the classical case, but more sophisticated. Here we present a general result on the way some of these expansions are generated. We apply it to describe several families of expansions having a regular pattern.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the rough singular integral operators on product Triebel-Lizorkin spaces and prove certain boundedness properties on the Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. Let R be a domain, complete with respect to a norm which defines a non-discrete topology on R. We prove that the quotient field of R is ample, generalizing a theorem of Pop. We then consider the case where R is a ring of arithmetic power series which are holomorphic on the closed disc of radius 0<r<1 around the origin, and apply the above result to prove that the absolute Galois group of the quotient field of R is semi-free. This strengthens a theorem of Harbater, who solved the inverse Galois problem over these fields.  相似文献

We give canonical matrices of a pair (A,B) consisting of a nondegenerate form B and a linear operator A satisfying B(Ax,Ay)=B(x,y) on a vector space over F in the following cases:
F is an algebraically closed field of characteristic different from 2 or a real closed field, and B is symmetric or skew-symmetric;
F is an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0 or the skew field of quaternions over a real closed field, and B is Hermitian or skew-Hermitian with respect to any nonidentity involution on F.
These classification problems are wild if B may be degenerate. We use a method that admits to reduce the problem of classifying an arbitrary system of forms and linear mappings to the problem of classifying representations of some quiver. This method was described in [V.V. Sergeichuk, Classification problems for systems of forms and linear mappings, Math. USSR-Izv. 31 (3) (1988) 481-501].  相似文献

Let V be a valuation domain and V[[X]] be the power series ring over V. In this paper, we show that if V[[X]] is a locally finite intersection of valuation domains, then V is an SFT domain and hence a discrete valuation domain. As a consequence, it is shown that the power series ring V[[X]] is a Krull domain if and only if V[[X]] is a generalized Krull domain if and only if V[[X]] is an integral domain of Krull type (or equivalently, a PvMD of finite t-character) if and only if V is a discrete valuation domain with Krull dimension at most one.  相似文献

The main concern in this paper is to give sufficient conditions such that if are unbounded normal operators on a (complex) Hilbert space , then for each , the domain equals . It is then verified that such a result can be applied to characterize the domains of fractional powers of a large class of the Hamiltonians with singular potentials arising in quantum mechanics through the study of the Schrödinger equation.
