Measurements have been made of the coefficient of recovery of the total pressure of a gas flow exhausting from axisymmetric and conical profiled hypersonic nozzles into a cylindrical channel of diameter equal to or greater than the nozzle exit and also in the presence of an Eiffel chamber. The experiments were made at Mach numbers M = 4.83–12.4 in the isentropic core. It is shown that the values of differ slightly (by 5%) from the corresponding value for a normal shock wave at the number M determined for a onedimensional flow by the ratio of the area of the cylindrical channel to the area of the critical section of the nozzle.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 170–173, January–February, 1984.  相似文献

Nonlinear wave processes in shockloaded elastoplastic materials are modeled. A comparison of the results obtained with experimental data and numerical solutions of exact systems of dynamic equations shows that the model equations proposed qualitatively describe the stressdistribution evolution in both the elasticflow and plasticflow regions and can be used to solve one and twodimensional problems of pulsed deformation and fracture of elastoplastic media.  相似文献

The paper presents solutions to the problems of plane Couette flow, axial flow in an annulus between two infinite cylinders, and flow between two rotating cylinders. Taking into account energy dissipation and the temperature dependence of viscosity, as given by Reynolds's relation =0 exp (–T) (0, =const). Two types of boundary conditions are considered: a) the two surfaces are held at constant (but in general not equal) temperatures; b) one surface is held at a constant temperature, the other surface is insulated.Nonisothermal steady flow in simple conduits with dissipation of energy and temperature-dependent viscosity has been studied by several authors [1–11]. In most of these papers [1–6] viscosity was assumed to be a hyperbolic function of temperature, viz. =m 1/1+2(T–Tm.Under this assumption the energy equation is linear in temperature and can he easily integrated. Couette flow with an exponential viscosity-temperature relation. =0 e T (0, =const), (0.1) was studied in [7, 8]. Couette flow with a general (T) relation was studied in (9).Forced flow in a plane conduit and in a circular tube with a general (T) relation was studied in [10]. In particular, it has been shown in [10] that in the case of sufficiently strong dependence of viscosity on temperature there can exist a critical value of the pressure gradient, such that a steady flow is possible only for pressure gradients below this critical value. In a previous work [11] the authors studied Polseuille flow in a circular tube with an exponential (T) relation. This thermohydrodynamic problem was reduced to the problem of a thermal explosion in a cylindrical domain, which led to the existence of a critical regime. The critical conditions for the hydrodynamic thermal explosion and the temperature and velocity profiles were calculated. In this paper we treat the problems of Couette flow, pressureless axial flow in an annulus, and flow between two rotating cylinders taking into account dissipation and the variation of viscosity with temperature according to Reynolds's law (0.1). The treatment of the Couette flow problem differs from that given in [8] in that the constants of integration are found by elementary methods, whereas in [8] this step involved considerable difficulties. The solution to the two other problems is then based on the Couette problem.  相似文献

A method is proposed for calculating hypersonic ideal-gas flow past blunt-edged delta wings with aspect ratios = 100–200. Systematic wing flow calculations are carried out on the intervals 6 M 20, 0 20, 60 80; the results are analyzed in terms of hypersonic similarity parameters.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 175–179, September–October, 1990.  相似文献

The force to squeeze a Herschel–Bulkley material without slip between two approaching surfaces of various curvature is calculated. The Herschel–Bulkley yield stress requires an infinite force to make plane–plane and plane–concave surfaces touch. However, for plane–convex surfaces this force is finite, which suggests experiments to access the mesoscopic thickness region (1–100 m) of non-Newtonian materials using squeeze flow between a plate and a convex lens. Compared to the plane–parallel surfaces that are used most often for squeeze flow, the dependence of the separation h and approach speed V on the squeezing-time is more complicated. However, when the surfaces become close, a simplification occurs and the near-contact approach speed is found to vary as V h0 if the Herschel–Bulkley index is n<1/3, and V h(3n-1)/(2n) if n 1/3. Using both plane–plane and plane–convex surfaces, concordant measurements are made of the Herschel–Bulkley index n and yield stress 0 for two soft solids. Good agreement is also found between 0 measured by the vane and by each squeeze-flow method. However, one of the materials shows a limiting separation and a V(h) behaviour not predicted by theory for h<10 m, possibly owing to an interparticle structure of similar lengthscale.  相似文献

The first goal of this paper is to study the large time behavior of solutions to the Cauchy problem for the 3-dimensional incompressible Navier–Stokes system. The Marcinkiewicz space L3, is used to prove some asymptotic stability results for solutions with infinite energy. Next, this approach is applied to the analysis of two classical regularized Navier–Stokes systems. The first one was introduced by J. Leray and consists in mollifying the nonlinearity. The second one was proposed by J.-L. Lions, who added the artificial hyper-viscosity (–)/ 2, > 2 to the model. It is shown in the present paper that, in the whole space, solutions to those modified models converge as t toward solutions of the original Navier–Stokes system.  相似文献

An investigation is made into the conical flows which occur when a perfect (inviscid and nonheat conducting) gas flows over the terminal edges of surfaces with breaks separating an external and an internal flow with velocity vectors parallel to the line of intersection of the surfaces. Such flows are observed, in particular, in the neighborhood of breaks in the outlet edge of a nozzle of rectangular cross section with a straight or skewed exit plane under conditions of underexpanded flow of a supersonic jet into a cocurrent supersonic stream. By means of a linear analysis flow patterns corresponding to various flow interaction regimes and edge geometries are constructed and a law of similarity is formulated. The validity of the results thus obtained is confirmed by examples of the numerical solution of the complete nonlinear system of Euler equations. In this connection, within the framework of the approach outlined in [1], as a rule, together with the shocks and characteristic surfaces bounding the conical flow in question, the shear discontinuity separating the external and internal streams is constructed.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 119–127, January–February, 1935.  相似文献

Experimental investigations of the influence of streamwise streaky structures on turbulization of a circular laminar jet are described. The qualitative characteristics of jet evolution are studied by smoke visualization of the flow pattern in the jet and by filming the transverse and longitudinal sections of the jet illuminated by the laser sheet with image stroboscopy. It is shown that the streaky structures can be generated directly at the nozzle exit, and their interaction with the Kelvin–Helmholtz ring vortices leads to emergence of azimuthal beams ( structures) by a mechanism similar to threedimensional distortion of the twodimensional Tollmien–Schlichting wave at the nonlinear stage of the classical transition in nearwall flows. The effect of the jetexhaustion velocity and acoustic action on jet turbulization is considered.  相似文献

The geometrical characteristics of jets injected through an opening in a flat plate into an oncoming supersonic flow have been studied on a number of occasions [1, 3]. However, the results were analyzed under different suppositions about the important dimensionless parameters. In [1], the degree of underexpansion of the jet, characterized by n = p a /p, was regarded as decisive; in [3], the experimental points were plotted against the relative dynamic head a u2 a /(u2 ) of the jet. In the present paper, dimensional considerations are used to determine the dimensionless parameters which influence the flow field when an injected jet interacts with an oncoming supersonic gas flow. The influence of these determining dimensionless parameters on the depth of penetration of injected jets into a flow was investigated experimentally. It is shown that the relative depth of penetration is determined basically by the relative specific impulse of the jet, the injection angle, and the shape of the blowing nozzle section.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 151–154, July–August, 1980.  相似文献

It is proposed to investigate the stability of a plane axisymmetric flow with an angular velocity profile (r) such that the angular velocity is constant when r < rO – L and r > rO + L but varies monotonically from 1 to 2 near the point rO, the thickness of the transition zone being small L rO, whereas the change in velocity is not small ¦21¦ 2, 1. Obviously, as L O short-wave disturbances with respect to the azimuthal coordinate (k=m/rO 1/rO) will be unstable with a growth rate-close to the Kelvin—Helmholtz growth rate. In the case L=O (i.e., for a profile with a shear-discontinuity) we find the instability growth rate O and show that where the thickness of the discontinuity L is finite (but small) the growth rate does not differ from O up to terms proportional to kL 1 and 1/m 1. Using this example it is possible to investigate the effect of rotation on the flow stability. It is important to note that stabilization (or destabilization) of the flow in question by rotation occurs only for three-dimensional or axisymmetric perturbations.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 111–114, January–February, 1985.  相似文献

A numerical solution is obtained for the problem of air flow past a sphere under conditions when nonequilibrium excitation of the vibrational degrees of freedom of the molecular components takes place in the shock layer. The problem is solved using the method of [1]. In calculating the relaxation rates account was taken of two processes: 1) transition of the molecular translational energy into vibrational energy during collision; 2) exchange of vibrational energy between the air components. Expressions for the relaxation rates were computed in [2]. The solution indicates that in the state far from equilibrium a relaxation layer is formed near the sphere surface. A comparison is made of the calculated values of the shock standoff with the experimental data of [3].Notation uVmax, vVmax velocity components normal and tangential to the sphere surface - Vmax maximal velocity - P V max 2 pressure - density - TT temperature - eviRT vibrational energy of the i-th component per mole (i=–O2, N2) - =rb–1 shock wave shape - a f the frozen speed of sound - HRT/m gas total enthalpy  相似文献

The influence of the selection of the generator of subsonic sections of plane and axisymmetric Laval nozzles on the integrated characteristics and on the shapes of their profiled supersonic parts is investigated in the approximation of an ideal (inviscid and nonheat-conducting) gas. Nozzles with a smooth entrance and with an abrupt contraction are compared for the same flow rates and size restrictions on the whole nozzle, not only to its supersonic part. In such a formulation, in accordance with [1], nozzles with abrupt contractions in the flow of ideal gas in them should be expected to have the best characteristics. This is confirmed by the results of the calculations performed.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 129–137, July–August, 1986.The authors are grateful to V. The molecular theory of Doi has been used as a framework to characterize the rheological behavior of polymeric liquid crystals at the low deformation rates for which it was derived, and an appropriate extension for high deformation rates is presented. The essential physics behind the Doi formulation has, however, been retained in its entirety. The resulting four-parameter equation enables prediction of the shearing behavior at low and high deformation rates, of the stress in extensional flows, of the isotropic-anisotropic phase transition and of the molecular orientation. Extensional data over nearly three decades of elongation rate (10–2–101) and shearing data over six decades of shear rate (10–2–104) have been correlated using this analysis. Experimental data are presented for both homogeneous and inhomogeneous shearing stress fields. For the latter, a 20-fold range of capillary tube diameters has been employed and no effects of system geometry or the inhomogeneity of the flow-field are observed. Such an independence of the rheological properties from these effects does not occur for low molecular weight liquid crystals and this is, perhaps, the first time this has been reported for polymeric lyotropic liquid crystals; the physical basis for this major difference is discussed briefly. The effect of flow conditions on the negative wake generation (longitudinal velocity overshoot behind a cylinder in the viscoelastic fluid flow along the centerline) has been investigated. FENE-CR model that predicts constant shear viscosity and controlled extensional viscosity was considered as a constitutive equation. The discrete elastic viscous split stress-G/streamline upwind Petrov–Galerkin (DEVSS-G/SUPG) formulation was employed and the high-resolution solutions were obtained with an efficient iterative solver based on the incomplete LU(0)-type preconditioner and BiCGSTAB. We found that the negative wake generation was more obvious in uniform flow conditions than in Poiseuille flow, which suggests that the experimentally unrevealed negative wake generation of Boger fluids could be partially attributed to the geometrical effect of Poiseuille flow. The negative wake generation was more discernable at low extensibility and high value of viscosity ratio, which agrees well with the previous studies. In addition, we could observe an undershoot phenomenon in Poisseuille flow condition, which has never been reported.  相似文献

A study is made of the problem of hypersonic flow of an inviscid perfect gas over a convex body with continuously varying curvature. The solution is sought in the framework of the asymptotic theory of a strongly compressed gas [1–4] in the limit M when the specific heat ratio tends to 1. Under these assumptions, the disturbed flow is situated in a thin shock layer between the body and the shock wave. At the point where the pressure found by the Newton-Buseman formula vanishes there is separation of the flow and formation of a free layer next to the shock wave [1–4]. The singularity of the asymptotic expansions with respect to the parameter 1 = ( –1)/( + 1) associated with separation of the strongly compressed layer has been investigated previously by various methods [3–9]. Local solutions to the problem valid in the neighborhood of the singularity have been obtained for some simple bodies [3–7]. Other solutions [7, 9] eliminate the singularity but do not give the transition solution entirely. In the present paper, an asymptotic solution describing the transition from the attached to the free layer is constructed for a fairly large class of flows.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 99–105, January–February, 1982.  相似文献

The qualitative behavior of solutions of the mixed problem utt = u-a(x)ut in IR x , u=0 on IR x , is studied in the case when a>0 and IRn is bounded. Roughly speaking, if aamin>0, then solutions decay at least as fast as exp t( –1/2amin), with the possible exception of a finite dimensional set of smooth solutions whose existence is associated with a phenomenon of overdamping. If amax is sufficiently small, depending on , then no overdamping occurs.Partially supported by NSF grant NSF GP 34260.This work was partially supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. GP 34260  相似文献

The wave structure in active bubble media in shock tubes with sudden changes of profiles in the form of discontinuities in cross section and a onephase liquid waveguide is analyzed numerically. In axisymmetric formulation, the paper studies wave amplification due to reflection from a wall and focusing at the buttend of a rigid rod aligned coaxially with the channel. In this configuration, the amplification effect results from twodimensional cumulation of the shock wave after it leaves the annular channel and reaches the buttend of the rod. A Mach configuration forms in the focus spot. The geometrical characteristics of the shock tube allow one to control (to some extent) the amplification coefficient and the coordinates of the focus spot. In particular, it is shown that the wave can be focused near the second discontinuity of cross section — a rigid wall (in the region of passage through the interface to the waveguide) — and intensified upon reflection. If the waveguide radius is equal to the height of the Mach stem, the reflected wave has a maximum amplitude.  相似文献

An analytical approximation for the frozen laminar boundary layer flow of a binary mixture
An analytical approximation is derived for the frozen laminar boundary layer flow of a partially dissociated binary mixture along a strongly cooled flat plate. The concentration at the wall is shown to be a universal function of the Damkohler-number for the wall reaction. The Damkohlernumber also serves as a parameter of shape for the concentration profile which is presented in analytical form. The heat transfer at the wall depending on a conduction and a diffusion flux is derived and discussed. The ratio of these fluxes is expressed as a function of the Damkohler-number if the boundary conditions are known.

We consider the parametrized family of equations tt ,u- xx u-au+u 2 2 u=O,x(0,L), with Dirichlet boundary conditions. This equation has finite-dimensional invariant manifolds of solutions.
